[0001] The invention generally relates to the field of fragrance diffusers or devices for dispensing fragrance oil into the surrounding environment. The invention more precisely relates to a reed sticks assisted displacement device for dispensing precise and micro volume of fragrance oil droplets.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Traditionally, reed sticks have been utilized as fragrance diffusers, serving as wicks to draw and disperse fragrance oil or scented liquid from a container into the surrounding air. Numerous wick-type diffusers are presently available. These diffusers typically comprise a one-to-sixteen-ounce container, such as a glass vase, bottle, or other suitable container filled or partially filled with a fragrance material combined with solvents. A typical diffuser uses a 6-7-ounce container. A wick, such as a natural reed, branch or cotton wick, natural sponge, or synthetic polymer foam, protrudes out of the container to allow the fragrance to evaporate into the surrounding air. Solvents used in presently available diffusers typically include, among others, alcohol, or heavy solvents such as petroleum distillates, glycol ethers, phthalate and adipate solvents, ISOPAR hydrocarbon solvents, carbitols, cellosolves, downanols and dipropylene glycol methyl ether.

To make the final product appear larger and fuller, these solvent-based diffusers typically include 10%-50% fragrance in containers that may hold 6.5 ounces of liquid. Producers use solvents to fill the remainder of the container with a liquid material that is less costly than pure fragrance materials.

Frequently, to make current products last longer, theusers of such diffusers are instructed to flip the reeds by placing the portion of the wicking material that was previously exposed to the atmosphere into the solventfragrance mixture, whereby the previously submerged portion of the wick is now exposed to the atmosphere. This procedure is highly detrimental to the performance of the diffuser and produces a myriad of undesirable results for the user. Flipping the wick material typically results in splashing the fragrance and solvent mixture outside of the container and onto the table or other surface supporting the diffuser.

Most reed fragrance diffuser retailers recommend flipping the reeds into the fragrance oil 2 or 3 times initially to wet the reeds. The retailers also recommend flipping them each week to refresh fragrance emission. Reed, bamboo, and rattan are natural components derived from plants or trees. Some manufacturers have used a single, short, fat artificial wick with fragrance oil.

[0009] Of greater significance, the following paragraph will underscore the limitations of reed stick usage thus far in the fragrance industry.

However, in our proposed device, we leverage the reed stick not justas a diffuser, but specifically as a spill-proof mechanism. Remarkably, none of the existing literature explores the use of reed sticks for spillage prevention.

A reed sticks assisted displacement device for dispensing precise and micro volume of fragrance oil droplets, comprising: a top region consisting of a diffuser top housing (2) and a diffuser bottom enclosure (3) having a worm wheel motor (4); a worm wheel or a worm wheel pump (5) a battery (6) and a blower motor (7); a lower section consisting of a cartridge (11) having a separate water compartment (22) and a fragrance compartment (21) being provided within a cartridge bottom housing (12);Characterized in that, two hemispherical compartments being merged to create a cylindrical fragrance diffuser device; one hemispherical compartment having the diffuser top housing (2) that consist of the battery (6) and the motor units; another hemispherical compartment having the cartridge (11) that consists of the separate water compartment (22) and a fragrance compartment (21) being provided within a cartridge bottom housing (12); the fragrance compartment (21) that contains a hollow cylindrical structure, extending upward towards the upper region to establish a connection with the water compartment (22); the water compartment (22) being surrounded both the fragrance compartment (21) and a circumference of the hollow cylindrical extension, that is fully enclosed with a circular opening, intended to engage with the worm wheel pump (5); and at least three petite reed sticks (15, 17 and 19) are positioned within a water inlet port (14), an oil outlet port (16), and an air vent port (18) respectively, that facilitates a passage of water from the water compartment (22) to the fragrance compartment (21), the outlet port (16) to enable a dispersion of fragrance from the fragrance compartment (21) into a fragrance bowl (2) and the air vent port (18) that consists of the third reed stick(18) to prevent an airlock.

2. The reed sticks assisted displacement device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the reed stick is a porous stick made from natural material rattan, bamboo or synthetic materials.

The reed sticks assisted displacement device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the worm wheel pump (5) extends downward from the top region that passes through an opening located abovethe water compartment (22) that enables the worm wheel pump (5) to submerge and dispense water into the fragrance compartment (21) through the water outlet port provided in the cartridge top enclosure (13).

4. The reed sticks assisted displacement device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the water inlet port (14) consists of a first reed stick that guides the movement of water through the provided passage from the water compartment (22) that produces micro-sized droplets.

5. The reed sticks assisted displacement device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second reed stick being positioned at the oil outlet port (16) that transfers a fragrance oil droplets to the fragrance bowl (20).

6. The reed sticks assisted displacement device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the oil outlet reed stick (17) being situated beneath the water inlet reed stick (15) that is to be below the lower section, the air vent reed stick (19) is positioned above the water inlet reed stick (15).

7. A method of dispensing precise and micro volume of fragrance oil droplets by a reed sticks assisted displacement device, the method comprising the steps of; extending a connected worm wheel pump (5) downward from a top region that passes through a provided passage, or an opening located above a water compartment (22); enabling the worm wheel pump (5) to submerge and dispense a water into a fragrance compartment (21) through a water outlet port provided in a cartridge top enclosure (13); forming a pathway between a water outlet port and a fragrance oil inlet port simultaneously, when the top region engages and permitting the fragrance oil inlet port positioning a first reed stick therewith, that permits water to enter the fragrance compartment (21); triggering a rapid priming action, when a cartridge (11) engages with the device through the worm wheel pump (5) and priming the water for a predetermined number of cycles; descending the droplets obtained from the priming action into the bottom of the fragrance compartment (21) and displacing an equivalent volume of fragrance oil through a fragrance oil outlet port or an oil outlet port (16), being positioned with a second reed stick; transferring the fragrance oil droplets to a fragrance bowl (20) being connected to the lowersection through the second reed stick and releasing into the fragrance bowl (20); preventing an airlock through the provided air vent port (18), that consists of a third reed stick; and tailoring the evaporation of fragrance oil through the fragrance blower (20), that diffuses the fragrance oil into the surrounding air.

8. The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein an auto priming action being enabled or activated for an initial or a first time engagement of diffuser and cartridge and the touch actuation facilitates the triggering action of the worm wheel.

9. The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the Pomodoro technique or a Pomodoro timer being integrated and configured for dispensing fragrance at 25 -minute intervals with 5 -minute dispense intervals.
