Fragrance diffuser using multiple thin artificial wicks

Multiple artificial wicks can be used in water or solvent based fragrance mixtures that will fully empty the mixture from the container without the need to flip the wicks. The wicks can be made from strands of woven, twisted, braided, injection molded or extruded fibers that are natural or man-made. The length to width ratio of the wick should be a minimum of 30 for effective fragrance release. The wick gets fully saturated and remains saturated while providing continuous fragrance diffusion. There is no need to flip the wick over during use to refresh the fragrance diffusion. The wicks can also be fully dyed or pigmented with color. The wicks can also be partially dyed or pigmented with color. A ceramic bisque can also be placed above the fragrance oil mixture to provide a fragrance boost when in contact with the wick.

The invention provides a method for improving release, on a surface, of a fragrance from an entrapment structure of at least one fragrance oil and at least one entrapment material. The method destabilizes the entrapment structure by providing at least one trigger molecule which preferentially associates with the entrapment material; and / or at least one release agent which at least partially disrupts the entrapment structure.The invention also provides a composition for improving release of a fragrance from a surface. The composition comprises at least one fragrance oil; at least one entrapment material, the at least one fragrance oil and the at least one entrapment material being capable, in use, of forming an entrapment structure on the surface. The composition also comprises at least one destabilizing material, which permits formation of the entrapment structure on the surface but which destabilizing material can, in use, destabilize the entrapment structure by providing at least one trigger molecule which preferentially associates with the entrapment material; and / or at least one release agent which partially disrupts the entrapment structure; and at least one compatible solvent which doesn't interfere with the formation of the entrapment structure on the surface.The present methods and compositions can improve fragrance perception, by overcoming the differences in fragrance perception that result from different surface, for example, skin, hydration levels and / or different surface types.

Odor control fragrance additive

An odor control fragrant additive comprises compacted pellets or granules infiltrated with fragrant oil. Cellulosic material, activated carbon and binder are mixed together and compacted to produce compacted pellets or granules. The cellulosic material preferably is peat moss, which swells up during absorption of fragrant oil and acts as fragrant oil storage. Fragrant oil is delivered to activated carbon that has large surface area, which evaporates the fragrance oil to release steady fragrance output. Thus, the activated carbon, which evaporates fragrance provides steady release of fragrance in the surrounding environment of fragrant compacted pellets or granules for a period of several months without overpowering the environment with excess fragrance. The fragrant compacted pellets or granules may be used to suppress malodor from trashcans or litter boxes and may provide stand-alone additions to drawers and cabinets, emitting pleasant fragrance.
