Therefore, it is desirable for the absorbent article to have good absorbency and prevent excrement leakage when worn. To improve the absorbency of absorbent articles, for example, a disposable diaper, such as that disclosed in Patent Document 1, is known in which the top sheet is provided with through-holes penetrating in the thickness direction, thereby improving the absorbency of excrement. Also, to prevent excrement leakage from absorbent articles, a known excrement pad, such as that disclosed in Patent Document 2, is known in which adhesive portions are attached to the back and ventral ends of three sides of the leakage prevention sheet, and an opening is provided toward the center of the excrement pad, thereby forming a bag-shaped leakage prevention sheet. This excrement pad can prevent excrement from leaking to the outside by guiding the excrement into the bag.
