Abstract

Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a method for auxiliary calculation, and a communication apparatus, a chip and a computer-readable storage medium. The method comprises: a terminal device sending a first message to a network, wherein the first message is used for requesting the network to perform auxiliary calculation on a first data packet; and the network sending a second message to the terminal device, wherein the second message is used for indicating the acceptance of auxiliary calculation on the first data packet. By implementing the present application, the terminal device can be aware that the network accepts auxiliary calculation on the first data packet, so that during subsequent uplink transmission or downlink transmission of the first data packet, the network executes some calculation tasks of the first data packet, which is beneficial to reducing the calculation tasks of the terminal device.
