Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to time resource of PDCCH repetition. In one aspect, a UE receives, from a base station, PDCCH repetition information. The UE receives, from the base station, first time resource information indicating a first time resource of the first PDCCH. The UE receives, from the base station, the first PDCCH on the first time resource and a repeated PDCCH on a second time resource. The repeated PDCCH is repetition of the first PDCCH, the repeated PDCCH is associated with a SSB index same as that of the first PDCCH, and the second time resource is based on an SSB index set comprising at least one SSB index in a frequency band.

[0082] Principles of the present disclosure will now be described with reference to some embodiments. It is to be understood that these embodiments are described only for the purpose of illustration and help those skilled in the art to understand and implement the present disclosure, without suggesting any limitation as to the scope of the disclosure. The disclosure described herein may be implemented in various manners other than the ones described less than or equal to.

[0083] In the following description and claims, unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skills in the art to which this disclosure belongs.

[0084] References in the present disclosure to “one embodiment, ” “an example embodiment, ” “an embodiment, ” “some embodiments, ” and the like indicate that the embodiment (s) described may include a particular feature, structure, or characteristic, but it is not necessary that every embodiment includes the particular feature, structure, or characteristic. Moreover, such phrases do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment (s) . Further, when a particular feature, structure, or characteristic is described in connection with an embodiment, it is submitted that it is within the knowledge of one skilled in the art to affect such feature, structure, or characteristic in connection with other embodiments whether or not explicitly described.

[0085] It shall be understood that although the terms “first” and “second” or the like may be used herein to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another element. For example, a first element could also be termed as a second element, and similarly, a second element could also be termed as a first element, without departing from the scope of embodiments. As used herein, the term “and / or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the listed terms.

[0086] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of example embodiments. As used herein, the singular forms “a” , “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises” , “comprising” , “has” , “having” , “includes” and / or “including” , when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, elements, and / or components etc., but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, elements, components and / or combinations thereof.

[0087] In view of the above, some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for time resource of PDCCH repetition. In this solution, a UE receives, from a base station, PDCCH repetition information. The UE receives, from the base station, first time resource information indicating a first time resource of the first PDCCH. The UE receives, from the base station, the first PDCCH on the first time resource and a repeated PDCCH on a second time resource. The repeated PDCCH is repetition of the first PDCCH, the repeated PDCCH is associated with an SSB index same as that of the first PDCCH, and the second time resource is based on an SSB index set comprising at least one SSB index in a frequency band. With this solution, time resource of PDCCH repetition may be determined.

[0088] Aspects of the present disclosure are described in the context of a wireless communications system.

[0089] Fig. 1 illustrates an example of a wireless communications system 100 for time resource of PDCCH repetition in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The wireless communications system 100 may include one at least one of network entities 102 (also referred to as network equipment (NE) ) , one or more terminal devices or UEs 104, a core network 106, and a packet data network 108. The wireless communications system 100 may support various radio access technologies. In some implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 4G network, such as an LTE network or an LTE-advanced (LTE-A) network. In some other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 5G network, such as an NR network. In other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a combination of a 4G network and a 5G network, or other suitable radio access technology including institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 (Wi-Fi) , IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) , IEEE 802.20. The wireless communications system 100 may support radio access technologies beyond 5G. Additionally, the wireless communications system 100 may support technologies, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , or code division multiple access (CDMA) , etc.

[0091] The network entities 102 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region to form the wireless communications system 100. One or more of the network entities 102 described herein may be or include or may be referred to as a network node, a base station (BS) , a network element, a radio access network (RAN) node, a base transceiver station, an access point, a NodeB, an eNodeB (eNB) , a next-generation NodeB (gNB) , or other suitable terminology. A network entity 102 and a UE 104 may communicate via a communication link 110, which may be a wireless or wired connection. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may perform wireless communication (e.g., receive signaling, transmit signaling) over a Uu interface. The network entities 102 may be collectively referred to as network entities 102 or individually referred to as a network entity 102. Hereinafter, some implementations of the present disclosure will be described by taking a base station as an example of the network entity 102. Thus, the network entity 102 may be used interchangeably with the base station 102.

[0092] A network entity 102 may provide a geographic coverage area 112 for which the network entity 102 may support services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area 112. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be moveable, for example, a satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network. In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 112 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 112 may be associated with different network entities 102. Information and signals described herein may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, and chips that may be referenced throughout the description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0093] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an internet-of-things (IoT) device, an internet-of-everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.

[0094] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in Fig. 1. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the core network 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network equipment) , as shown in Fig. 1. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.

[0095] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface. A UE 104 may be an A-IoT device.

[0096] A network entity 102 may support communications with the core network 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the core network 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) . A network entity 102 may be a reader for an A-IoT device.

[0097] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open radio access network (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a radio unit (RU) , a RAN intelligent controller (RIC) (e.g., a near-real time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a non-real time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a service management and orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.

[0098] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a transmission reception point (TRP) . One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .

[0099] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160.

[0100] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .

[0101] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.

[0102] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g., data bearers, signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the core network 106.

[0103] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N2, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0104] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0105] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0106] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0107] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0108] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (510 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0109] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0110] Fig. 2 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 200 for time resource of PDCCH repetition in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The process 200 may involve the UE 104 and the base station 102. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to Fig. 1. With the process 200, the time resource of PDCCH repetition may be determined.

[0111] As shown in Fig. 2, the base station 102 may transmit 210, to the UE 104, PDCCH repetition information. The PDCCH repetition information may indicate whether there is PDCCH repetition or not. Alternatively, the PDCCH repetition information may indicate the repetition number, e.g. 1, 2, 4 or 8, etc. In some implementations, the PDCCH repetition information is indicated by at least one bit in a MIB or at least one bit in a PBCH payload or pre-defined.

[0112] As shown in Fig. 2, the base station 102 may transmit 220, to the UE 104, first time resource information indicating a first time resource of the first PDCCH. The base station 102 may transmit 230, to the UE 104, the first PDCCH on the first time resource and a repeated PDCCH on a second time resource. The repeated PDCCH is repetition of the first PDCCH.

[0113] In some implementations, the repeated PDCCH is associated with an SSB index same as that of the first PDCCH. In some implementations, the second time resource is based on an SSB index set comprising at least one SSB index in a frequency band. In some implementations, the at least one SSB index may also be referred to as at least one actual SSB index. The actual SSB is an SSB which is actually transmitted by the network node, and a non-actual SSB is an SSB which can be configured for a frequency band however not actually transmitted by the network node.

[0114] In some implementations, the first PDCCH is a type 0 PDCCH. A monitoring window for a type 0 PDCCH is two consecutive slots.

[0115] In some implementations, a time resource for a PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index is located at every other slot, adjacent slot or same slot. E. g. the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is at slot#2, in the every other slot case. E. g. the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is at slot#1, in the adjacent slot case. E. g. the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is at slot#0, in the same slot case. In some implementations, a monitoring window starting position for a type 0 PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index is located at every other slot, adjacent slot or same slot.

[0116] In some implementations, a parameter M is used for determining an index of slot in 3GPP, which indicates length related to time domain difference of PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index. E. g. When M=2, the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is at slot#2. E.g. When M=1, the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is at slot#1. When M=1 / 2, there may be two type 0 PDCCH in a single slot, so that the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#0 is at slot#0, and the time slot for PDCCH associated with SSB#1 is also at slot#0. Further, a starting position may be symbol 0 and 7, or symbol 0 and coreset length depending on different configuration index. The coreset length can be 2 or 3 symbols. The two type 0 PDCCH are associated with different adjacent SSB index.

[0117] When M=1 / 2, the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCH corresponding to SSB index 2 or3 and the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCHs corresponding to SSB index 4 or5 will overlap as each monitoring window last two consecutive slots. In other words, the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCH for SSB index 2 is overlapped with the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCH for SSB index 4, and the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCH for SSB index 3 is overlapped with the monitoring window of type 0 PDCCH for SSB index 5. In some implementation, the base station 102 can determine the transmission of PDCCH.

[0118] When M=1, starting position of PDCCH monitoring window associated with adjacent SSB index will be at adjacent slots. E. g. starting position of type 0 PDCCH monitoring window associated with an SSB index#i is at slot n, and starting position of type 0 PDCCH monitoring window associated with SSB index#i+1 will be at slot n+1. In this case, there is a single slot overlap in type 0 PDCCH monitoring window for adjacent SSB indices. Regarding to the overlapped slot, the base station 102 can determine the transmission of PDCCH , for example, based on one of the SSB indices or transmitting two PDCCHs with each SSB index respectively.

[0119] When M=2, starting position of PDCCH monitoring window associated with adjacent SSB index will be at every two slots. E. g. starting position of type 0 PDCCH monitoring window associated with an SSB index#i is at slot n, and starting position of type 0 PDCCH monitoring window associated with SSB index#i+1 will be at slot n+2. Given that the monitoring window for a type 0 PDCCH is two consecutive slots, there is no overlapping in type 0 PDCCH monitoring window for adjacent SSB indices.

[0120] In some implementations, a first time domain offset between the first PDCCH and the repeated PDCCH is determined based on at least one of the SSB index set and a length related to time domain difference of the first time resource of PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index. Alternatively, the first time domain offset is configured or pre-defined.

[0121] In some implementations, when M=2, the first time domain offset may be 1 slot. For example, the first time resource of the first PDCCH associated with a SSB index is slot n, and the first time resource of another PDCCH associated with a next SSB index is located in slot n+2. Therefore, slot n+1 is not occupied, and may be used for repeated PDCCH. For example, the second time resource of the repeated PDCCH is at slot n+1.

[0122] In some implementations, the SSB index set comprises all SSB indices of the frequency band. E. g. In FR1, the SSB index set will be 0 to 7, and in FR2, the SSB index set will be 0 to 63.

[0123] In some implementations, the first time domain offset may be X slots. This implementation is noted as implementation #1. X is determined by a number of SSB indices in the frequency band and the parameter M. For example, in the case of M=1and FR1, X=8, and in the case of M=1 and FR2, X=64; in the case of M=1 / 2and FR1, X=4, in the case of M=1 / 2 and FR2, X=32. Fig. 3 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1 and X=8. In Fig 3, the time domain difference of the first PDCCH and its repeated PDCCH, both of which are associated with SSB#0 is 8 slots, and the time domain difference of the first PDCCH and its repeated PDCCH, both of which are associated with SSB#1 is also 8 slots. Fig. 4 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1 / 2 and X=4. In Fig 4, the time domain difference of the first PDCCH and its repeated PDCCH, both of which are associated with SSB#4 / 5 is 4 slots.

[0124] In some implementations, time domain offsets are different for repeated PDCCHs associated with different SSB indices.

[0125] In some implementations, the second time resource is determined based on a mapping between at least one available slot and at least one repeated PDCCH. This implementation is noted as implementation #2. In some implementations, the mapping is based on sequence of SSB index in the SSB index set and starts from a time domain position.

[0126] In some implementations, the time domain position is a first slot which is associated with an SSB index of the frequency band, and the SSB index does not belong to the SSB index set. In some other implementations, the time domain position is a slot after a slot for a PDCCH associated with a last SSB index.

[0127] In some implementations, the available slot is a downlink slot. This is applicable to time division duplexing (TDD) frequency band. In some implementations, the available slot is a slot not occupied by an SSB.

[0128] In some implementations, the repeated PDCCH is located at a corresponding PDCCH position for non-actual SSB index.

[0129] PDCCH positions associated with actual SSBs are indexed in sequence, and PDCCH positions associated with non-actual SSBs are also indexed in sequence. PDCCH positions with the same index are associated for PDCCH repetition.

[0130] In some implementations, the SSB index of the actual SSB index is small so that the repeated PDCCH is located after the first PDCCH. In some implementations, this may be guaranteed by configuration of the base station 102.

[0131] In some implementations, the number of actual SSB indices is reduced to be at least half of the number of SSB of the frequency band, so that there are enough unoccupied slots for repeated PDCCH.

[0132] In some implementations, when the number of SSB indices is larger than half of the max SSB number in the frequency band, then implementation #1 is adopted; when the number of SSB index is smaller than or equal to half of the max SSB number, then implementation #1 or implementation #2 may be selected based on SSB index configuration.

[0133] Fig. 5 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1. The 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th SSB (i.e. SSB index #0, 2, 4, 6) is the actual SSB index forming the SSB index set. Then the SSB index set comprises SSB index 0, 2, 4, 6, and SSB index 1, 3, 5, 7 can be considered as non-actual SSB index. Then the original type 0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 2nd SSB (i.e. SSB index#1) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 1st SSB (i.e. SSB index#0) , and the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 4th SSB (i.e. SSB index#3) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 3rd SSB (i.e. SSB index#2) , and so on.

[0134] Fig. 6 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1. The 1st, 2nd, 4th SSB (i.e. SSB index #0, 3, 5) is the actual SSB index. Then the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 3rd SSB (i.e. SSB index #2) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 1st SSB; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 5th SSB is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 2nd SSB (i.e. SSB index #1) ; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 6th SSB (i.e. SSB index #5) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 4th SSB (i.e. SSB index #3) .

[0135] Fig. 7 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1. The 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th SSB (i.e. SSB index #0, 1, 3, 4, 5) is the actual SSB index. Then the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 3rd SSB (i.e. SSB index #2) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 1st SSB (i.e. SSB index #0) ; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 7th SSB (i.e. SSB index #6) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 2nd SSB (i.e. SSB index #1) ; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 8th SSB (i.e. SSB index #7) is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 4th SSB (i.e. SSB index #3) . There are at most 8 SSB index in FR1, so the 8th SSB is the last SSB index. The next slot after the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 8th SSB is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 5th SSB. The next slot after the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the 8th SSB plus 1 is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with the 6th SSB.

[0136] Fig. 8 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1 / 2. SSB index i and i+1 are active or actual SSB indices, index i+2 and i+3 are non-active or non-actual SSB indices and the slot may be used for repetition of PDCCH associated with other SSB index. The value i can be 0 or 4. In Fig 8, the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the SSB index #2 / 3 is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with SSB index#0 / 1; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the SSB index #6 / 7 is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with SSB index#4 / 5.

[0137] Fig. 9 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1 / 2. The first half SSB indices are active or actual SSB indices, and the other half SSB indices are non-active or non-actual SSB indices. If the first PDCCH is in slot n, then the repeated PDCCH may be at n+2 for FR1, or the repeated PDCCH may be at n+16 for FR2. In this case, value X is based on the frequency band. In Fig 9, the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the SSB index #4 / 5 is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with SSB index#0 / 1; the original type0 PDCCH time domain resource for the SSB index #6 / 7 is for the repeated PDCCH of the PDCCH associated with SSB index#2 / 3;

[0138] Fig. 10 illustrates an example of PDCCH repetition for M=1 / 2. The active or actual SSB indices may be configured by the base station 102, optionally with a preference that smaller SSB indices are active. The time domain resource associated with actual SSB index can be indexed sequentially. E. g. original slot index#0 / 2 / 3 can be indexed to be a first new slot index#0 / 1 / 2 associated with actual SSB index. The time domain resource associated with non-actual SSB index can be indexed sequentially. E. g. original slot index#1 / 4 / 5 can be indexed to be also a second new slot index #0 / 1 / 2 associated with the non-actual SSB index. The time domain resource of same index with the first new slot index and the second new slot index can be associated and used for PDCCH and the corresponding repeated PDCCH associated with same SSB index. E. g. slot #0 and slot#1 can be for PDCCH and repeated PDCCH associated with SSB index#0. E.g. slot#2 and slot#4 can be for PDCCH and repeated PDCCH associated with SSB index #4 / 5. E. g. slot#3 and slot#5 can be for PDCCH and repeated PDCCH associated with SSB index#6. Configuration of set of active or actual SSB index by the base station 102 may guarantee that the first PDCCH and the repeated PDCCH are at different slots, and the repeated PDCCH is after the first PDCCH. In this case, X is based on the corresponding indexing rule. In this case, X may be different for different SSB indices.

[0139] In some implementations, the number of active SSBs is at least half of the max number of beams in the frequency band.

[0140] In some implementations, whether PDCCH repetition is enabled or not can also base on the number of actual SSB index, e.g. whether it is more than half or not.

[0141] In some implementations, the SSB index set is pre-defined. For example, the SSB index set may be the whole SSB index set for the corresponding band. For another example, the pre-defined set are different for different parameter M value. For example, for M=2, the SSB index set may be all the SSB index; for M=1, SSB index may satisfy I mod 2=0; for M=1 / 2, SSB index may satisfy I mod 4=0 or 1.

[0142] In some implementations, the base station 102 may transmit, to the UE 104, SSB information indicating the SSB index set.

[0143] In some implementations, the SSB information is indicated by at least one bit in a MIB, at least one bit in a PBCH payload or a codepoint of the PBCH payload or pre-defined based on the frequency band. For example, there may be some pre-defined patterns of SSB index set for each frequency band, and the SSB information may indicate one of the patterns. For example, the patterns may be the above examples of pre-defined SSB index set.

[0144] In some implementations, the SSB information is jointly encoded with the PDCCH repetition information, the first time resource information, a parameter indicating a symbol number of CORESET zero, a parameter indicating frequency PRB of CORESET zero, or a parameter indicating a slot index of PDCCH associated with CORESET zero. For example, a reserved bit in MIB indicates both the repetition number and the actual SSB index set. For another example, the table 13-11 or table 13-12 in 3GPP technical specification 38.213 may add a column indicating the actual SSB index set. In this case, the actual SSB index set is jointly encoded with the parameter O, M to determine the time slot for PDCCH associated with each SSB index. For another example, the tables indicating number of symbol / PRBs of CORESET can add a column indicating the actual SSB index set. In this case, the actual SSB index set is jointly encoded with the parameter indicating symbol number / PRB number of CORESET#0.

[0145] In some implementations, the base station 102 may transmit, to the UE 104, a first PDSCH on a third time resource.

[0146] In some implementations, the base station 102 may transmit, to the UE 104, a repeated PDSCH on a fourth time resource. The repeated PDSCH is repetition of the first PDSCH. The first PDSCH and the repeated PDSCH are associated with a same SSB index.

[0147] In some implementations, the UE 104 may receive the repeated PDSCH based on PDSCH repetition information. In some implementations, the PDSCH repetition information is configured or based on PDCCH repetition information or based on a size of the SSB index set. The PDSCH repetition information can be whether the repetition is enabled or not or the repetition number.

[0148] In some implementations, PDSCH repetition is enabled based on the PDCCH repetition information indicating that PDCCH repetition is enabled, or the number of the at least one actual SSB index is less than or equal to a threshold (e.g. half of total SSB indices) . In some implementations, PDSCH repetition is disabled based on the PDCCH repetition information indicating that PDCCH repetition is disabled, or the number of the at least one actual SSB index is larger than or equal to a threshold.

[0149] In some implementations, the third time resource is same as the first time resource, and the fourth time resource is same as the second time resource. In this case, the first PDSCH is before the repeated PDCCH. In some implementations, if the UE 104 supports receiving PDSCH before repeated PDCCH based on its capability, it may try to decode the PDSCH before the repeated PDCCH. This may be up to UE implementation. Anyway, the base station 102 may transmit PDSCH before the repeated PDCCH to support legacy UE without PDCCH / PDSCH repetition.

[0150] In some other implementations, the third time resource is same as the second time resource, and the fourth time resource is determined in a way similarly as the second time resource determination. In this case, the first PDSCH is after the repeated PDCCH. In this case, the first PDSCH is at the same slot as the repeated PDCCH. The first PDSCH and the repeated PDCCH are at different symbols.

[0151] In some implementations, a second time domain offset Y between the first PDSCH and the repeated PDSCH associated with the same SSB index is determined based on at least one of the SSB index set and a length related to time domain difference of PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index, or the second time domain offset is configured or pre-defined.

[0152] In some implementations, the second time domain offset Y is further based on the SSB index associated with the first PDSCH and the max number of the SSB index set. Fig. 11 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=2, for FR1, Y= 8*2-1=15 for the first SSB index (i.e. SSB#0) , and Y= 14 for the second SSB index (i.e. SSB#1) . For another example, for FR2, Y=64*2-1=127 for the first SSB index.

[0153] In some implementations, a third time domain offset Z between a repeated PDCCH associated with a last SSB index of SSB index set and the repeated PDSCH associated with an SSB index is determined based on at least one of the SSB index set and a length related to time domain difference of PDCCH associated with adjacent SSB index, or the third time domain offset is configured or pre-defined.

[0154] In some implementations, time domain offsets Y or Z are different for repeated PDSCHs associated with different SSB indices.

[0155] In some implementations, the fourth time resource is determined based on mapping between at least one available slot and at least one repeated PDSCH. In some implementations, the mapping is based on sequence of SSB index in the SSB index set and starts from a time domain position (also referred to as reference time position) .

[0156] In some implementations, the time domain position is a first slot for a type 0 PDCCH which is associated with an SSB index of the frequency band, and the SSB index does not belong to the SSB index set. In some other implementations, the time domain position is a next slot after a slot for a repeated PDCCH associated with a last SSB index. It is to be understood that in this case repeated PDSCH is after the last repeated PDCCH.

[0157] In some implementations, the available slot is a downlink slot. This is applicable to TDD frequency band. In some implementations, the available slot is a slot not occupied by an SSB or a repeated PDCCH.

[0158] In some implementations, the time domain resource of PDCCH of non-active SSB can be sequentially indexed in time domain, and used for each PDSCH of active SSB index accordingly.

[0159] Fig. 12 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=2. SSB indices 0, 1, 2, 4 are active SSB indices, and the time domain resource for SSB indices 3 / 5 / 6 / 7 may be used for PDSCH, i.e. slot n+7, n+8, etc. Y is 5 in this example for PDSCH associated with SSB#0, and Y is 4 for PDSCH associated with SSB#1, Y is 5 for PDSCH associated with SSB#2.

[0160] In some implementations, the time domain position may be based on type0 PDCCH configuration index and the actual SSB index set. For example, the time domain position is the slot of the repeated PDCCH associated with a last SSB index (i.e. last first PDSCH) . The time domain offset between the time domain position and the repeated PDSCH is 1 for the 1st SSB, 2 for the 2nd actual SSB, 3 for the 3rd actual SSB, etc. Fig. 13 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 and all SSBs are actual SSBs. The time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 is 1, and the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#1 is 2, and so on. Fig. 14 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 and half of SSBs are actual SSBs. The time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 is 1, and the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#2 is 2. The time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#4 is 3, and the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#6 is 4. Fig. 15 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 and more than half SSBs are actual SSBs. The time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 is 1, and the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#1 is 2. The time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#3 is 3, and the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#4 is 4, the time domain offset Z for PDSCH associated with SSB#5 is 5.

[0161] In some implementations, PDSCH repetition determination method may be based on number of actual SSB indices.

[0162] In some implementations, the time domain position is the slot of the repeated PDCCH associated with a last SSB index in the SSB index set (i.e. last first PDSCH) . The time domain offset Z between the time domain position and the repeated PDSCH is based on relative index of the corresponding SSB index among the actual SSB index set. Fig. 16 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 / 2. All SSB indices are actual SSB indices, the time domain position is a slot of repeated PDCCH associated with a last SSB index (i.e. SSB#6 / 7) . Z=1 for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 / 1, Z=2 for PDSCH associated with SSB#2 / 3, and so on. Fig. 17 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 / 2. SSB index #0 / 1 / 4 / 5 are actual SSBs, the time domain position is slot n+4, and Z=1 for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 / 1. The repeated PDSCH associated with SSB#0 / 1 is at slot n+5. And Z=2 for PDSCH associated with SSB#4 / 5. The repeated PDSCH associated with SSB#4 / 5 is at slot n+6. Fig. 18 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 / 2. Half of SSB indices are actual SSB index, e.g. SSB#0 / 1 / 2 / 3. The time domain position to determine Z is slot n+4, Z=1 for PDSCH associated with SSB#0 / 1. The repeated PDSCH associated with SSB index#0 / 1 is at slot n+5. Z=2 for PDSCH associated with SSB#2 / 3. The repeated PDSCH associated with SSB index#0 / 1 is at slot n+6. Fig. 19 illustrates an example of PDSCH repetition for M=1 / 2. The time domain position to determine Z is slot n+6 , Z=1, 2, 3 for PDSCH associated with SSB#0, 4 / 5, 6, respectively. The repeated PDSCH associated SSB #0 is at slot n+7. The repeated PDSCH associated SSB #4 / 5 is at slot n+8. The repeated PDSCH associated SSB #6 is at slot n+9.

[0163] In some implementations, a slot with the repeated PDCCH has an additional blind decoding number. As the first PDCCH and the repeated PDCCH share same decoding related parameters, so they can be considered once when determine the number of blind decoding. There may be additional blind decoding number counted in the slot of repeated PDCCH.

[0164] For the slot of first PDCCH, there may be blind decoding based on the first PDCCH only, and for the slot of repeated PDCCH, there may be blind decoding based on the repeated PDCCH only and also blind decoding based on combination of first PDCCH and repeated PDCCH.

[0165] So far, solutions of time resource of PDCCH repetition are described in connection with the process 200. It is to be noted that operations or steps described in the process 200 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0166] Fig. 20 illustrates an example of a device 2000 for time resource of PDCCH repetition in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The device 2000 may be an example of a base station 102 or a UE 104 as described herein. The device 2000 may support wireless communication with one or more base stations 102, UEs 104, or any combination thereof. The device 2000 may include components for bi-directional communications including components for transmitting and receiving communications, such as a processor 2002, a memory 2004, a transceiver 2006, and, optionally, an I / O controller 2008. These components may be in electronic communication or otherwise coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces (e.g., buses) .

[0167] The processor 2002, the memory 2004, the transceiver 2006, or various combinations thereof or various components thereof may be examples of means for performing various aspects of the present disclosure as described herein. For example, the processor 2002, the memory 2004, the transceiver 2006, or various combinations or components thereof may support a method for performing one or more of the operations described herein.

[0168] In some implementations, the processor 2002, the memory 2004, the transceiver 2006, or various combinations or components thereof may be implemented in hardware (e.g., in communications management circuitry) . The hardware may include a processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, a discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof configured as or otherwise supporting a means for performing the functions described in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the processor 2002 and the memory 2004 coupled with the processor 2002 may be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein (e.g., executing, by the processor 2002, instructions stored in the memory 2004) .

[0169] For example, the processor 2002 may support wireless communication at the device 2000 in accordance with examples as disclosed herein. In some implementations where the device 2000 is used to implement a UE (e.g., the UE 104) , the processor 2002 may be configured to operable to support a means for performing the following: receiving, from a base station, PDCCH repetition information; receiving, from the base station, first time resource information indicating a first time resource of the first PDCCH; and receiving, from the base station, the first PDCCH on the first time resource and a repeated PDCCH on a second time resource, wherein the repeated PDCCH is repetition of the first PDCCH, the repeated PDCCH is associated with an SSB index same as that of the first PDCCH, and the second time resource is based on an SSB index set comprising at least one SSB index in a frequency band.

[0170] In some implementations where the device 2000 is used to implement a base station (e.g., the base station 102) , the processor 2002 may be configured to operable to support a means for performing the following: transmitting, to a UE, PDCCH repetition information; transmitting, to the UE, first time resource information indicating a first time resource of the first PDCCH; and transmitting, to the UE, the first PDCCH on the first time resource and a repeated PDCCH on a second time resource, wherein the repeated PDCCH is repetition of the first PDCCH, the repeated PDCCH is associated with an SSB index same as that of the first PDCCH, and the second time resource is based on an SSB index set comprising at least one SSB index in a frequency band.
