Abstract
Description
Station ticket gate system, management device for station ticket gate system
[0001] The present invention relates to a station ticket gate system and a management device in the station ticket gate system.
[0002] Even if you tap your card on the ticket gate, you may not be able to pass through for the following reasons: (1) When you try to leave the station even though there is no entry record (no entry error) (2) When you try to enter even though you have already entered somewhere (double entry error) (3) When you try to leave the station after exceeding the station stay time (for example, 2 hours) (time exceeded error) (4) When you try to leave across business days (business date error) (5) When the card company has refused to allow use of the card (rejection list registration error) In such cases, if the station is manned, station staff can use the ticket processing machine to carry out "counter processing" such as the following (see Non-Patent Document 1). - In the case of (1) above: "enter another station", "enter this station" - In the cases of (2), (3), and (4) above: "cancel departure station", "exit another station", "exit this station", "forced exit" - In the case of (5) above: "remove rejection list registration"

[0004] To perform the above-described counter processing at unmanned stations, it is preferable to connect a remote control terminal with the same functions as the counter processing machine at manned stations to a network and operate the remote control terminal to remotely perform the above-described counter processing. However, the remote control terminal and the customer's card are physically located far apart, and it is not possible to tap the customer's card on the remote control terminal. Therefore, unlike the counter processing machine at manned stations, the remote control terminal cannot read card information from the customer's card. Furthermore, when making a card payment using a credit card or other payment method, it is necessary to transmit the card information along with the card information from a reader / writer that reads the card information to a payment device (sometimes called a "center"), and to perform processes such as authorization (often abbreviated as "authorization"). However, with the counter processing machine at manned stations, the card information is read by a reader / writer connected to the counter processing machine, and the reader / writer information can be transmitted to the payment device (center). However, as described above, the remote control terminal and the customer's card are physically located far apart, and it is not possible to tap the customer's card on the remote control terminal. For this reason, the remote control terminal cannot transmit reader / writer information to the settlement device (center) like a ticket window processing machine at a manned station.
[0005] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the object is to provide a station ticket gate system and a management device for a station ticket gate system that can smoothly respond to ticket gate errors even at unmanned stations, just as they do at manned stations.
[0006] The present invention includes the following embodiment.
[0007] A station ticket gate system in which an unmanned station ticket gate, a management device, and a remote control terminal are connected via a network, wherein, if an error occurs when a customer's card is tapped at the unmanned station ticket gate, the unmanned station ticket gate transmits to the management device card information of the tapped card and reader / writer information of a reader / writer that reads the card information from the card, the management device stores the card information and reader / writer information received from the unmanned station ticket gate in the management device, and the remote control terminal acquires the card information and reader / writer information stored in the management device via the network, and transmits a remote counter processing command including the acquired card information and reader / writer information to the management device via the network.
[0008] According to one embodiment of the present invention, when an error occurs in a ticket gate at an unmanned station, the card information and reader / writer information that caused the error are stored in a management device. By operating a remote control terminal, station staff can obtain the card information and reader / writer information stored in the management device, and using this obtained card information and reader / writer information, they can remotely perform processing equivalent to the counter processing at a manned station (remote counter processing) over a network. According to one embodiment of the present invention, ticket gate errors can be handled smoothly at unmanned stations, just as they are at manned stations, and ultimately, card-based ticket gate processing can be widely adopted at unmanned stations as well.

[0010] Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram showing the configuration of a station ticket gate system according to an embodiment. As shown in Fig. 1, the station ticket gate system according to the embodiment includes a ticket gate at an entrance station where a passenger taps their card, a ticket gate at an exit station where a passenger taps their card, a management device connected to the ticket gate at the entrance station and the ticket gate at the exit station via a network, a payment device connected to the management device via the network and executing payment processing, and a remote control terminal connected to the management device via the network and operated by a station attendant. Details are described below.
[0011] [Entry Station, Exit Station] An entry station is a station where a passenger enters the station. An exit station is a station where a passenger leaves the station. For example, if a passenger enters station A, boards a train at station A, gets off the train at station B, and exits at station B, station A is the entry station and station B is the exit station. At least one of the entry station and the exit station is unmanned, meaning there are no station staff at the station. A case where there are multiple stations, all of which are unmanned, or a case where the multiple stations include a mixture of manned and unmanned stations, is included in one embodiment of the present invention. On the other hand, a case where there are no unmanned stations, in other words, a case where all stations are manned, is not included in one embodiment of the present invention. For example, a case where there are five stations, station A, station B, station C, station D, and station E, where station A and station B are manned and station C, station D, and station E are unmanned, is included in one embodiment of the present invention. In this case, stations A to E may be operated by the same or different companies. For example, the company that operates Stations A and B and the company that operates Stations C, D, and E may be the same or different. On the other hand, a case where all five stations, A, B, C, D, and E, are manned stations is not included in one embodiment of the present invention. However, for example, if it is possible to transfer from a train on a line that has five stations, A, B, C, D, and E, to a train on another line that has three stations, F, G, and H, at Station C, and Station F is a manned station and Stations G and H are unmanned stations, then when Stations A to H are viewed as a whole, there is a mixture of manned and unmanned stations, and therefore one embodiment of the present invention can be applied.
[0012] [Card] Card information is stored on the card. Card information is information required for payment using the card. Examples of cards include credit cards, debit cards, and prepaid cards. Furthermore, the card may be, for example, a contactless IC card or a smartphone that stores card information.
[0013] (Card Information) Examples of card information include the following: Card number Card expiration date Card issuing country Card brand
[0014] (Card Number) A card number is a number assigned to each card by a card company. Examples of card numbers include credit card numbers, debit card numbers, and prepaid card numbers. Card numbers may be stored on the card in an unencrypted state, but are preferably stored on the card in an encrypted state. In this specification, "card number" refers to an encrypted card number unless otherwise specified.
[0015] The function application value obtained from the card number is, for example, the output value of a predetermined function that uses the card number as an argument or parameter. Examples of the predetermined function include hash functions as well as encryption functions using DES (Data Encryption Standard) and AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). Examples of the output value of the predetermined function include hash values and encrypted values.
[0016] Examples of portions of a card number include the last three or four digits of the card number, a value in which the first and last digits of the card number are displayed and the other digits are replaced with symbols such as "*" (e.g., truncated PAN), etc. For example, if the card number is "4980123456780123," the last three digits of the card number are "123" and the last four digits of the card number are "0123," and the value in which the first six and last four digits of the card number are displayed and the other digits are represented by * is "498012****0123."
[0017] If the card number is encrypted, the function application value obtained from the card number (function application value of the card number) is obtained by decrypting the encrypted card number using a specified decryption process to obtain the card number, and then calculating the output value of a hash function that uses the obtained card number as an argument or parameter.
[0018] If the card number is encrypted, a portion of the card number can be obtained by decrypting the encrypted card number using a predetermined decryption process, and then obtaining the portion of the card number thus obtained.
[0019] (Card Brands) Examples of card brands include VISA (registered trademark), MASTERCARD (registered trademark), and JCB (registered trademark).
[0020] [Information] The information processed in this specification will be further described below.
[0021] (Station Information) Station information is information that identifies a station where a ticket gate is installed. Station information that identifies the station where the ticket gate is installed is stored in the ticket gate. For example, station information that identifies station A is stored in the ticket gate at station A, and station information that identifies station B is stored in the ticket gate at station B.
[0022] (Entry date and time, exit date and time) The entry date and time is information specifying the date and time when the card was tapped on the ticket gate at the entry station. The exit date and time is information specifying the date and time when the card was tapped on the ticket gate at the exit station. Examples of the entry date and time and the exit date and time include the date and time when the card was tapped, as well as the date and time when the first data and fourth data described below are transmitted from the ticket gate to the management device. Like the latter date and time, a date and time that is not exactly the date and time when the card was tapped, but that can be considered the date and time when the card was tapped in applying the present invention, is also included in the entry date and time and the exit date and time.
[0023] (Error ID) The error ID is information for distinguishing information stored in the error management area. Examples of error IDs include English letters, numbers, symbols, and combinations thereof. For example, if information A and information B are stored in association with error ID "1" in the error management area, and information C and information D are stored in association with error ID "2," it is possible to select or obtain information A and B by selecting error ID "1," and to select or obtain information C and D by selecting error ID "2."
[0024] (Error Type Information) Error type information is information that identifies the type of error. As described below, the management device executes an error determination process to determine whether a predetermined error condition is met, and error type information is information that identifies which error condition is met. In other words, the error type information can be used to identify which error condition is met. For example, suppose two error conditions, error condition 1 and error condition 2, are set. In this case, if error condition 1 is met, the error type information is set to "1", and if error condition 2 is met, the error type information is set to "2". This makes it possible to identify that if the error type information is 1, error condition 1 is met, and that if the error type information is 2, error condition 2 is met.
[0025] (Reader / Writer Information) The reader / writer information is information that identifies the reader / writer. The reader / writer information is stored in the reader / writer and can be read by the ticket gate. As described below, the ticket gate can transmit the reader / writer information stored in the reader / writer to the management device.
[0026] (Search Data) The search data is information that can be used to search for information stored in the error management area. Examples of the search data include one or more of the following information: station information, company information, corner information indicating the area where the ticket gate is installed, the ticket gate number, and the ticket gate ID of the ticket gate.
[0027] (Company Information) Company information is information that identifies the company that operates a station, such as Railway A or Subway B. Company information for an entry station is information that identifies the company that operates the entry station, and company information for an exit station is information that identifies the company that operates the exit station. For example, if a station is operated by Railway A, the company information for that station is information that identifies Railway A. An example of a company is a railway company.
[0028] (Corner Information) Corner information is information that identifies an area within a station where a ticket gate is installed, such as the central ticket gate or the east ticket gate.
[0029] (Ticket Number) The ticket number is information that identifies a ticket gate in an area where ticket gates are installed, such as the third ticket gate at the East ticket gate.
[0030] (Ticket Gate ID) The ticket gate ID is a number that identifies a ticket gate.
[0031] (Freight Information) The fare information is information that specifies the amount to be paid as the fare, such as 350 yen or 500 yen.
[0032] (Business Dates) Business dates can be defined based on a specific time. For example, if 2:00 AM is used as the base, then the period from 2:00:00 AM on June 5, 2024 to 1:59:59 AM on June 6, 2024 is included in the business date of June 5, 2024. In this case, for example, the business date of 8:11:39 AM on June 5, 2024 and the business date of 1:30:30 AM on June 6, 2024 are both June 5, 2024, and are therefore considered to be the same business date.
[0033] [Ticket gates] An entrance station ticket gate is a ticket gate installed at an entrance station. An exit station ticket gate is a ticket gate installed at an exit station.
[0034] The ticket gate includes a computing device and a storage device. An example of the computing device is a CPU (Central Processing Unit). An example of the storage device is a volatile memory such as a RAM (Random Access Memory), and a non-volatile memory such as a ROM (Read Only Memory), an SSD (Solid State Drive), or an HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The ticket gate operates when the computing device executes a program stored in the storage device.
[0035] When the ticket gate receives a normal signal from the management device, it executes normal processing. Normal processing is processing that allows passengers to pass through the ticket gate. Examples of normal processing include opening the ticket gate door and outputting a normal sound.
[0036] When the ticket gate receives an error signal from the management device, it executes error processing. The error signal is a signal that commands the execution of error processing. Error processing is processing that prevents passengers from passing through the ticket gate. Examples of error processing include closing the ticket gate doors and outputting a warning sound.
[0037] The ticket gate is equipped with a reader / writer that reads card information from a card tapped on the ticket gate. In this specification, the reader / writer equipped in the ticket gate at the entrance station is referred to as the "first reader / writer," and the reader / writer equipped in the ticket gate at the exit station is referred to as the "second reader / writer." The first reader / writer reads card information including the card number from the card tapped on the ticket gate at the entrance station. The second reader / writer reads card information including the card number from the card tapped on the ticket gate at the exit station.
[0038] [Management Device] The management device is a device that manages ticket gates at stations.
[0039] The management device includes an arithmetic unit and a storage device. An example of the arithmetic unit is a CPU (Central Processing Unit). An example of the storage device is a volatile memory such as a RAM (Random Access Memory), or a non-volatile memory such as a ROM (Read Only Memory), an SSD (Solid State Drive), or an HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The management device operates when the arithmetic unit executes a program stored in the storage device.
[0040] The storage device of the management device has an admission management area, a refusal list area, an error management area, and a payment management area.
[0041] (Entrance Management Area) Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating the data structure of the entrance management area. As shown in Fig. 2, the entrance management area stores a function application value calculated from the card number, station information of the entrance station, the date and time of entry, and preferably company information of the entrance station, all in association with each other.
[0042] (Rejection List Area) FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating the data structure of the rejection list area. As shown in FIG. 3, the rejection list area stores function application values calculated from card numbers for which card use has been rejected. If card use is rejected, execution of payment processing in the payment device is rejected. The reasons for rejection are not particularly limited, but possible reasons include "the card's usage limit has been reached," "insufficient balance," and "the card has been reported stolen and the card company has suspended use." The status of whether the card use has been rejected can be confirmed by sending an inquiry request to the payment device that includes the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information.
[0043] (Error management area) Fig. 4 is a schematic diagram illustrating the data structure of the error management area. As shown in Fig. 4, the error management area stores an error ID, error type information, card number, function application value calculated from the card number, part of the card number, card information other than the card number, reader / writer information, and search data in association with each other.
[0044] (Payment Management Area) Fig. 5 is a schematic diagram illustrating the data structure of the payment management area. As shown in Fig. 5, the payment management area stores the card number, card information other than the card number, fare information, and reader / writer information in association with each other.
[0045] In this embodiment, as an example, a form will be described in which the information in the admission management area, error management area, and payment management area is stored in different columns in the same row of a single table, thereby correlating and storing the information. However, in these areas, two or more tables may be used to store the information in correspondence with each other. For example, suppose a first table and a second table are set in a certain area, with information A, information B, and information C stored in the first table, and information C and information D stored in the second table. In this case, it is possible to use information C as a key to associate information A and information B in the first table with information D in the second table. In this case, information A, information B, information C, and information D are stored in correspondence with each other in the area.
[0046] [Payment Device] The payment device is a device that executes payment processing. The payment device is sometimes called a "center." The payment device is operated by the card issuing company (also simply called the "card company"). The payment device is connected to a management device via a network. In card payments such as credit cards, card information including the card number is sent to the payment device along with reader / writer information from the reader / writer that read the card information, and the payment device then executes processing such as authorization.
[0047] The payment device includes a computing device and a storage device. An example of the computing device is a CPU (Central Processing Unit). An example of the storage device is a volatile memory such as a RAM (Random Access Memory), or a non-volatile memory such as a ROM (Read Only Memory), an SSD (Solid State Drive), or an HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The payment device operates when the computing device executes a program stored in the storage device.
[0048] [Remote Control Terminal] The remote control terminal is a terminal operated by a station attendant located away from the station, and is connected to the management device via a network.
[0049] The remote control terminal includes a computing device and a storage device. The remote control terminal operates by the computing device executing a program stored in the storage device.
[0050] [Network] For reasons such as enhanced security, it is preferable that the network connecting the payment device and the management device is a different network from the network connecting the management device and the ticket gates, as shown in Figure 1. However, it may be the same network. Furthermore, for reasons such as facilitating system construction, it is preferable that the network connecting the remote control terminal and the management device is the same network as the network connecting the management device and the ticket gates, as shown in Figure 1. However, it may be a different network. Examples of networks include the Internet, a dedicated line, a closed network, and a VPN line.
[0051] [Example of Operation of Station Ticket Gate System] An example of operation of the station ticket gate system according to this embodiment will be described below.
[0052] (Example of operation when a passenger enters a station) Fig. 6A is a sequence diagram (normal) that explains an example of operation when a passenger enters a station. Fig. 6B is a sequence diagram (abnormal) that explains an example of operation when a passenger enters a station. Below, an example of operation when a passenger enters a station will be explained with reference to Figs. 6A and 6B.
[0053] (Step 1) When a card is tapped on the ticket gate at the entrance station, the first reader / writer reads card information including the card number from the card tapped on the ticket gate at the entrance station.
[0054] (Step 2) The ticket gate at the entrance station transmits first data to the management device. The first data includes station information of the entrance station, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the first reader / writer, the entry date and time, and preferably company information of the entrance station.
[0055] (Step 3) When the management device receives the first data from the ticket gate at the entrance station, the management device executes an error determination process by determining whether a predetermined error condition is met using the information included in the first data, the information stored in the entrance management area, and the information stored in the refusal list area.
[0056] The following error conditions are examples of the predetermined error conditions in this step. If one or more of the following conditions are met, the management device determines that the predetermined error condition is met, and if none of the error conditions are met, the management device determines that the predetermined error condition is not met.
[0057] The management device determines whether the station information of the entrance station has already been stored in the entrance management area in association with the function application value calculated from the card number included in the first data, and if so, determines that the double entry error condition is met. The error type information is, for example, a character string saying "double entry."
[0058] However, even if the entrance station information is stored in the entrance management area, the management device preferably determines that the double entry error condition is not met if the first data includes company information for the entrance station and the company information for the entrance station included in the first data does not match the company information for the entrance station stored in the entrance management area. In this way, whether the double entry error condition is met can be determined between stations of the same company. For example, suppose a passenger enters Station 1 of Railway A, boards a train at Station 1, disembarks at Station 2 of Railway A, exits at Station 2, and the next day attempts to enter Station 3 of Railway B, which is different from Railway A. However, suppose that the passenger did not properly tap the card at the ticket gate at Station 2 when disembarking at Station 2, so the entry record remains as if the passenger had entered Railway A. In this case, if the double entry error condition is not determined taking company information into account, the double entry error condition will be met at the ticket gate at Railway B Station 3, and the passenger will not be able to pass through the ticket gate at Station 3. Therefore, the passenger must go to the Railway A station and ask a Railway A station attendant to cancel the entry record that still shows that the passenger has entered Railway A. It is not desirable for Railway B station attendant to manipulate Railway A's entry record, and such manipulation is not permitted in most cases. However, taking into account the corporate information as described above, the passenger can pass through Railway B station 3 without error. Note that if the passenger attempts to enter Railway A station 4, for example, a double entry error will occur, and in that case the passenger can ask Railway A station attendant to cancel the entry record.
[0059] (Rejection List Registration) The management device determines whether the function application value calculated from the card number included in the first data is stored in the rejection list area, and if so, determines that the rejection list registration error condition is met. The error type information is, for example, the character string "rejection list registration."
[0060] (Step 4) When the management device determines that the predetermined error condition is not met in the error determination process using the first data, the management device transmits a normal signal to the ticket gate at the entrance station.
[0061] (Step 5) When the ticket gate at the entrance station receives a normal signal from the management device, it executes normal processing.
[0062] (Step 6) When the ticket gate at the entrance station receives a normal signal from the management device, it transmits second data to the management device. The second data includes station information of the entrance station, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the first reader / writer, the entry date and time, and preferably company information of the entrance station.
[0063] Preferably, the second data further includes the card number read by the first reader / writer, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information of the first reader / writer.
[0064] (Step 7) When the management device receives the second data from the ticket gate at the entrance station, the management device stores the second data in the entrance management area. If the second data includes company information for the entrance station, the management device also stores the company information for the entrance station as part of the second data in the entrance management area.
[0065] If the second data includes the card number read by the first reader / writer, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information of the first reader / writer, the management device sends an inquiry request to the payment device including the card number, the information other than the card number, and the reader / writer information included in the second data. If the management device receives a response from the payment device indicating that use of the card number has been denied, the management device executes a denial list registration process to store a function application value calculated from the card number included in the second data in a denial list area. This allows a passenger to determine whether use of their card has been blocked while they are on a train. When the payment device receives an inquiry request from the management device, the payment device determines whether use of the card number included in the inquiry request has been denied and sends the result to the management device.
[0066] (Step 8) If the management device determines that a predetermined error condition is met in the error determination process using the first data, it transmits an error signal and error type information to the ticket gate at the entrance station.
[0067] (Step 9) When the ticket gate at the entrance station receives the error signal and the error type information from the management device, it executes error processing.
[0068] (Step 10) When the ticket gate at the entrance station receives the error signal and the error type information from the management device, it transmits third data to the management device. The third data includes the error type information received from the management device, the card number read by the first reader / writer, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the first reader / writer, a portion of the card number read by the first reader / writer, card information other than the card number, reader / writer information of the first reader / writer, and search data.
[0069] (Step 11) When the management device receives the third data from the ticket gate at the entrance station, the management device stores each piece of information included in the third data in the error management area in association with an error ID.
[0070] (Example of operation when a passenger leaves a station) Fig. 7A is a sequence diagram (normal) that explains an example of operation when a passenger leaves a station. Fig. 7B is a sequence diagram (abnormal) that explains an example of operation when a passenger leaves a station. Below, an example of operation when a passenger leaves a station will be explained with reference to Figs. 7A and 7B.
[0071] (Step 21) When the card is tapped on the ticket gate at the exit station, the ticket gate at the exit station reads card information including the card number from the card tapped on the ticket gate at the exit station using the second reader / writer.
[0072] (Step 22) When the ticket gate at the exit station reads the card information with the second reader / writer, it transmits fourth data to the management device. The fourth data includes station information of the exit station, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the second reader / writer, the exit date and time, and preferably company information of the exit station.
[0073] (Step 23) When the management device receives the fourth data from the ticket gate at the exit station, the management device executes an error determination process to determine whether a predetermined error condition is met using the information included in the fourth data, the information stored in the entrance management area, and the information stored in the refusal list area.
[0074] The following error conditions are examples of the predetermined error conditions in this step. If one or more of the following error conditions are met, the management device determines that the predetermined error condition is met, and if none of the error conditions are met, the management device determines that the error condition is not met.
[0075] (Not Entry) The management device determines whether the station information of the entry station is stored in the entry management area in association with the function application value calculated from the card number included in the fourth data, and if not, determines that the not-entered error condition is met. The error type information is, for example, a character string "not entered."
[0076] (Time Exceeded) The management device determines whether the time interval from the entry date and time stored in the entry management area in association with the function application value calculated from the card number included in the fourth data to the exit date and time included in the fourth data exceeds a predetermined station stay time (for example, two hours), and if so, determines that a time exceeded error condition is met. The error type information is, for example, a character string saying "time exceeded."
[0077] (Business Date) The management device determines whether the business date of the exit date and time included in the fourth data differs from the business date of the entry date and time stored in the entry management area in association with the function application value calculated from the card number included in the fourth data, and if they differ, determines that an error condition for the business date is met. The error type information is, for example, a character string "business date".
[0078] (Rejection List Registration) The management device determines whether the function application value calculated from the card number included in the fourth data is stored in the rejection list area, and if so, determines that the rejection list registration error condition is met. The error type information is, for example, the character string "rejection list registration."
[0079] (Step 24) If the management device determines that the predetermined error condition is not met in the error determination process using the fourth data, it transmits a normal signal to the ticket gate at the exit station.
[0080] (Step 25) When the ticket gate at the exit station receives a normal signal from the management device, it executes normal processing.
[0081] (Step 26) When the ticket gate at the exit station receives a normal signal from the management device, it transmits fifth data to the management device. The fifth data includes station information of the exit station, the card number read by the second reader / writer, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the second reader / writer, card information other than the card number, the exit date and time, and reader / writer information of the second reader / writer.
[0082] (Step 27) When the management device receives the fifth data from the ticket gate at the exit station, it acquires the fare information and stores this acquired fare information in the payment management area in association with the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information of the second reader / writer contained in the fifth data.
[0083] The fare information is calculated using the station information of the exit station and the station information of the entrance station, for example, based on the triangular table shown in FIG. 10. The station information of the exit station is the station information of the exit station included in the fifth data, and the station information of the entrance station is the station information of the entrance station stored in the entrance management area in association with the function application value obtained from the card number included in the fifth data. Based on the triangular table shown in FIG. 10, for example, if the station information of the entrance station is Station A and the station information of the exit station is Station C, the fare information is 200 yen. In this example, Station A and Station C may be operated by the same company or different companies. For example, if Company Y operates Station A, Company C may be operated by the same company or by Company X, which is different from Company Y, as shown in FIG. 11.
[0084] The management device may acquire the fare information by calculating the fare information itself, or may acquire the fare information from an external fare information calculation device. The fare information calculation device is, for example, a device connected to the management device via a network.
[0085] When a fare information calculation device is used, for example, in this step, the management device sends to the fare calculation device a fare calculation request including the station information of the exit station included in the fifth data and the station information of the entrance station stored in the entrance management area in association with the function application value obtained from the card number included in the fifth data. The fare information calculation device calculates fare information using the station information of the entrance station and the station information of the exit station included in the fare calculation request, for example, based on the triangular tables shown in Figures 10 and 11.
[0086] Alternatively, after receiving the first data in step 2, the management device may send a first fare calculation request to the fare information calculation device, and in this step, send a second fare calculation request to the fare information calculation device. The first fare calculation request includes the entrance station information included in the first data and a function application value calculated from the card number. The second fare calculation request includes the exit station information included in the fifth data and a function application value calculated from the card number. The fare information calculation device uses the function application value calculated from the card number included in the first and second fare calculation requests to identify a pair of the entrance station information included in the first fare calculation request and the exit station information included in the second fare calculation request, calculates fare information based on the triangle tables shown in Figures 10 and 11, for example, and sends the calculated fare information to the management device.
[0087] (Step 28) If the management device determines that a predetermined error condition is met in the error determination process using the fourth data, it transmits an error signal and error type information to the ticket gate at the exit station.
[0088] (Step 29) When the ticket gate at the exit station receives the error signal and the error type information from the management device, it executes error processing.
[0089] (Step 30) When the ticket gate at the exit station receives an error signal and error type information from the management device, the ticket gate at the exit station transmits sixth data to the management device. The sixth data includes the error type information received from the management device, the card number read by the second reader / writer, a function application value calculated from the card number read by the second reader / writer, a portion of the card number read by the second reader / writer, card information other than the card number, reader / writer information of the first reader / writer, and search data.
[0090] (Step 31) When the management device receives the sixth data from the ticket gate at the exit station, the management device stores the information included in the sixth data in the error management area in association with the error ID.
[0091] (Example of operation when remote counter processing is performed) Figures 8A and 8B are sequence diagrams illustrating an example of operation when remote counter processing is performed. Below, an example of operation when remote counter processing is performed will be described with reference to Figures 8A and 8B.
[0092] (Step 40) First, a passenger notifies a remote station attendant that an error has occurred at the ticket gate by communication means such as telephone, intercom, chat, etc. In this step, the passenger can provide the station attendant with information such as the card number, card information other than the card number (e.g., brand), station name, company information, and corner information.
[0093] (Step 41) The remote control terminal transmits to the management device seventh data including one or more pieces of information selected from a part of the card number, card information other than the card number, and one or more pieces of information included in the search data.
[0094] (Step 42) When the management device receives the seventh data from the remote control terminal, it executes an error ID acquisition process. The error ID acquisition process is a process of acquiring one or more error IDs stored in association with a predetermined number or more of the one or more pieces of information included in the seventh data from the error management area. The predetermined number is, for example, one, two, three, or four. For example, assume that the predetermined number is two, the seventh data includes information A, information B, and information C, and that, in the error management area, information A and information E are stored in association with error ID1, information B and information C are stored in association with error ID2, and information A and information C are stored in association with error ID3. In this case, error ID2 and error ID3 are acquired in this step.
[0095] (Step 43) The management device then transmits eighth data to the remote control terminal. The eighth data is data that includes, for each error ID, one or more error IDs acquired in step 42 and the information stored in the error management area in association with the acquired error ID. Taking the above-mentioned error ID 2 and error ID 3 as an example, the eighth data includes this information in a format that clearly shows that information B and information C are stored in association with error ID 2, and information A and information C are stored in association with error ID 3, such as (error ID 2, information B, information C) and (error ID 3, information A, information C).
[0096] (Step 44) When the remote control terminal receives the eighth data from the management device, the remote control terminal executes an error ID selection process to select one error ID from one or more error IDs included in the eighth data.
[0097] (Step 45) The remote control terminal transmits ninth data including one error ID selected in step 44 to the management device.
[0098] (Step 46) When the management device receives the ninth data from the remote control terminal, the management device transmits tenth data to the remote control terminal. The tenth data includes error type information, the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information, which are stored in the error management area in association with one error ID included in the ninth data.
[0099] (Step 47) When the remote control terminal receives the tenth data from the management device, it executes a remote counter processing request display process to display one or more selectable remote counter processing requests on the screen of the remote control terminal based on the error type information included in the tenth data. The remote control terminal can display one or more selectable remote counter processing requests on the screen of the remote control terminal based on the error type information included in the tenth data, from among a departure station cancellation processing request, an entry processing request, an exit processing request, and a refusal list removal processing request. For example, if the error type information is "double entry," a "departure station cancellation processing request" and an "exit processing request" are displayed on the screen; if the error type information is "no entry," an "exit processing request" is displayed on the screen; if the error type information is "time exceeded," a "departure station cancellation processing request" and an "exit processing request" are displayed on the screen; if the error type information is "business day," a "departure station cancellation processing request" and an "exit processing request" are displayed on the screen; and if the error type information is "rejection list registration," a "rejection list removal processing request" is displayed on the screen.
[0100] (Step 48) When one remote counter processing request is selected from one or more selectable remote counter processing requests displayed on the screen in step 47, the remote control terminal transmits the selected remote counter processing request to the management device.
[0101] (Step 49) When the management device receives one remote counter processing request from the remote operation terminal, it executes the remote counter processing in response to the remote counter processing request.
[0102] (Step 50) After that, the management device transmits a remote counter processing completion notice to the remote control terminal.
[0103] An example of step 48 and step 49 will be described below.
[0104] (Departure station cancellation) When a departure station cancellation processing request is selected as one remote counter processing request, the remote control terminal transmits a departure station cancellation processing request including the card number included in the tenth data to the management device (step 48). When the management device receives a departure station cancellation processing request from the remote control terminal, it executes departure station cancellation processing to delete, from the entrance management area, the function application value calculated from the card number included in the departure station cancellation processing request and the information stored in association with the function application value.
[0105] (Entry Processing) When an entry processing request is selected as a remote counter processing request, the remote control terminal displays one or more selectable station information items on the screen of the remote control terminal and transmits an entry processing request to the management device, the entry processing request including one station information item selected from the one or more selectable station information items and a function application value calculated from the card number included in the tenth data (step 48). When the management device receives an entry processing request from the remote control terminal, it stores the one station information item included in the entry processing request and the function application value calculated from the card number in an entry management area in association with each other. The one or more selectable station information items are station information items that are candidates for the entry station. For example, if Station A, Station B, and Station C are displayed on the screen as one or more selectable station information items, and Station B is selected, the station information for Station B is included in the entry processing request. In this case, the management device processes the entry processing request as if the passenger entered at Station B.
[0106] Preferably, the entrance processing request further includes the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the tenth data. In this case, the management device transmits an inquiry request to the payment device, including the card number, information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the entrance processing request. When the management device receives a response from the payment device indicating that use of the card number has been denied, the management device can execute a denial list registration process to store a function application value calculated from the card number included in the entrance processing request in a denial list area. This allows a passenger to determine whether use of their card has been blocked while they are on a train. When the payment device receives an inquiry request from the management device, the payment device determines whether use of the card number included in the inquiry request has been denied and transmits the result to the management device.
[0107] (Exit Processing) When an exit processing request is selected as a remote counter processing request, the remote control terminal displays one or more selectable station information on the screen of the remote control terminal and transmits an exit processing request to the management device, including one station information selected from the one or more selectable station information, the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the tenth data (step 48). When the management device receives an exit processing request from the remote control terminal, it acquires fare information and stores the acquired fare information in a payment management area in association with the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the exit processing request (step 49). The one or more selectable station information are station information that are candidate exit stations. For example, if Station A, Station B, and Station C are displayed on the screen as one or more selectable station information, and Station C is selected, the station information for Station C is included in the exit processing request. In this case, the management device acquires fare information assuming that the passenger exited at Station C and stores it in the payment management area.
[0108] The fare information is calculated using the station information of the exit station and the station information of the entrance station, for example, based on the triangular tables shown in Figures 10 and 11. The station information of the exit station is the station information included in the exit processing request, and the station information of the entrance station is the station information of the entrance station stored in the entrance management area in association with the function application value obtained from the card number included in the exit processing request. Based on the triangular tables shown in Figures 10 and 11, for example, if the station information of the entrance station is Station A and the station information of the exit station is Station C, the fare information is 200 yen. Fare information for different companies can also be handled by having both the company and station name in the triangular table, as shown in Figure 11, for example.
[0109] The management device may acquire the fare information by calculating the fare information itself, or may acquire the fare information from an external fare information calculation device. The fare information calculation device is, for example, a device connected to the management device via a network.
[0110] When the fare information calculation device is used, the management device transmits to the fare calculation device a fare calculation request including, for example, station information included in the exit processing request and entry station information stored in the entrance management area in association with a function application value determined from the card number included in the exit processing request. The fare information calculation device calculates fare information using the entry station information and exit station information included in the fare calculation request, for example, based on the triangular tables shown in Figures 10 and 11.
[0111] Alternatively, the management device may send a first fare calculation request to the fare information calculation device after receiving the first data in step 2, and then send a second fare calculation request to the fare information calculation device after receiving the exit processing request. The first fare calculation request includes the entrance station information included in the first data and a function application value calculated from the card number. The second fare calculation request includes the station information included in the exit processing request and a function application value calculated from the card number included in the exit processing request.
[0112] (Rejection list removal process) When a rejection list removal process request is selected as one remote counter processing request, the remote control terminal transmits a rejection list removal process request to the management device, including the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the tenth data (step 48). When the management device receives a rejection list removal process request from the remote control terminal, it transmits an inquiry request to the payment device, including the card number, card information other than the card number, and reader / writer information included in the rejection list removal process request, and, if it receives a response from the payment device indicating that use of the card number is not rejected, executes rejection list removal process, in which the function application value calculated from the card number included in the rejection list removal process request is deleted from the rejection list area (step 49).
[0113] For example, if a card is rejected by the card company due to "insufficient balance" and a function application value calculated from the card number is registered in the rejection list area, but the insufficient balance is resolved by depositing money and the card can be used again, but an error occurs at the ticket gate of an unmanned station because the function application value calculated from the card number remains registered in the rejection list area, this process will delete the function application value calculated from the card number from the rejection list.
[0114] (Example of Operation When Performing Payment Processing) Fig. 9 is a sequence diagram illustrating an example of operation when performing payment processing. Hereinafter, an example of operation when performing payment processing will be described with reference to Fig. 9 .
[0115] (Step 61) The management device transmits a payment request to the payment device, which includes the card number, card information other than the card number, fare information, and reader / writer information stored in the payment management area.
[0116] (Step 62) When the settlement device receives the settlement request from the management device, it executes settlement processing based on the settlement request.
[0117] (Step 63) After that, the settlement device transmits a settlement processing completion notice to the management device.
[0118] According to the embodiment described above, if an error occurs at a ticket gate at an unmanned station, the card information and reader / writer information that caused the error are stored in the management device. By operating a remote control terminal, station staff can obtain the card information and reader / writer information stored in the management device, and by specifying the obtained card information and reader / writer information, they can perform processing equivalent to the counter processing at a manned station (remote counter processing) over the network. According to this embodiment, ticket gate errors can be handled smoothly at unmanned stations, just as they are at manned stations, and card-based ticket gate processing can be widely adopted at unmanned stations as well.
[0119] Although the embodiments have been described above, these descriptions are merely examples and do not limit the configurations described in the claims. Even if the configuration differs from the above description, as long as it has the configurations described in the claims, it will still achieve the effects of the present invention and be included in the present invention.
