Description

Measurement and reporting method and related apparatus

[0001] The present application claims priority from the Chinese patent application No. 202411093727.9 filed on August 8, 2024, and entitled "Measurement and reporting method and related apparatus", the content of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] The present application relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to a measurement and reporting method and related apparatus. BACKGROUND

[0003] The fifth generation (5G) mobile communication system can use high frequency communication, that is, use ultra-high frequency band (such as 28 GHz) signal to transmit data. One of the main problems of high frequency communication is that the signal energy decreases sharply with the transmission distance, resulting in short signal transmission distance. In order to overcome this problem, high frequency communication uses analog beam technology, which concentrates signal energy in a small angle range by weighting processing of antenna array, forms a signal similar to a light beam (called analog beam, simply referred to as beam), thereby improving the transmission distance. Both network devices and terminal devices need to use beams for transmission. When performing uplink and downlink data transmission, specific beams need to be used.

[0004] The network device and the terminal device can select a suitable beam through a beam management process, and then the network device and the terminal device communicate through the selected beam. Specifically, the terminal device can measure the reference signal from the network device to obtain a measurement result. The terminal device can report the measurement result to the network device. In release 19 (R19), a user equipment (UE) or event triggered reporting method is introduced. Therefore, how the terminal device informs the network device of the event occurrence is a problem worth considering. SUMMARY

A terminal device is usually provided with a communication module, a circuit or a chip for performing a corresponding communication function, and is also configured with program instructions for performing a corresponding communication function.

[0116] It should be noted that a terminal device can be a device or an apparatus with a chip, or a device or an apparatus integrated with a circuit, or a chip, a chip system, a module or a control unit in the above-mentioned device or apparatus, and the specific application is not limited. It should be noted that in the present application, when referring to a terminal device, it can refer to the terminal device itself, or a chip, a functional module or an integrated circuit in the terminal device for completing the method provided in the present application, and the specific application is not limited.

[0117] A network device is a device deployed in a wireless access network to provide wireless communication functions for terminal devices. The network device can also be referred to as a radio access network (RAN) entity, an access node, a network node, an access network device, or a communication apparatus, etc.

[0118] Specifically, the network device can be an access network device of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) related cellular system. For example, a fourth-generation (4G) mobile communication system, a 5G mobile communication system, or a future mobile communication system. The network device can also be an access network device in an ORAN or a cloud radio access network (CRAN). Alternatively, the network device can also be an access network device in a communication system obtained by fusing two or more of the above communication systems.

[0119] The network device includes, but is not limited to, an evolved Node B (eNB), a radio network controller (RNC), a Node B (NB), a base station controller (BSC), a base transceiver station (BTS), a home base station (for example, a home evolved NodeB, or home Node B, HNB), a baseband unit (BBU), an access point (AP) in a wireless fidelity (WiFi) system, a macro base station, a micro base station, a wireless relay node, a donor node, a wireless controller in a CRAN scenario, a wireless backhaul node, a transmission point (TP), or a transmission and reception point (TRP). The network device can also be an access network device in a 5G mobile communication system. For example, a next generation NodeB (gNB) in a new radio (NR) system, a TRP, a TP, or one or a group (including multiple antenna panels) of antenna panels of a base station in a 5G mobile communication system. Alternatively, the network device can also be a network node constituting a gNB or a transmission point. For example, a centralized unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), a CU-control plane (CP), a CU-user plane (UP), or a radio unit (RU), etc. The CU and the DU can be separately arranged, or can be included in the same network element. For example, a BBU. The RU can be included in a radio frequency device or a radio frequency unit. For example, in a remote radio unit (RRU), an active antenna unit (AAU), or a remote radio head (RRH). Alternatively, the network device can also be a server, a wearable device, a vehicle or a vehicle-mounted device, etc. For example, in V2X technology, the network device can be a road side unit (RSU).

[0120] It should be noted that in different systems, the CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU or RU can also have different names, but those skilled in the art can understand their meanings. For example, in the ORAN system, the CU can also be referred to as an open centralized unit (O-CU) or an open CU, the DU can also be referred to as an open distributed unit (O-DU), the centralized unit control plane (CU-CP) can also be referred to as an open centralized unit control plane (O-CU-CP) or an open CU-CP, the centralized unit user plane (CU-UP) can also be referred to as an open centralized unit user plane (O-CU-UP) or an open CU-UP, and the RU can also be referred to as an open radio unit (O-RU). The specific application is not limited. Any one of the CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU and RU in the present application can be realized by a software module, a hardware module, or a combination of a software module and a hardware module.

[0121] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an ORAN system according to an embodiment of the present application. The ORAN system includes a core network device, an access network device and a UE. Optionally, the ORAN system can also include other components in addition to the components shown in FIG. 1, and the specific application is not limited.

[0122] The access network device can communicate with the core network (CN) device through a backhaul link. The access network device can communicate with the UE through an air interface. Specifically, the BBU in the access network device communicates with the core network through the backhaul link. The RU in the access network device communicates with at least one UE through the air interface. The BBU communicates with at least one RU through a fronthaul link, and the BBU and the RU can be co-located or not co-located.

[0123] The BBU includes at least one CU and at least one DU, and the CU and the DU can communicate through at least one midhaul link.

[0124] In a possible implementation, as shown in FIG. 2, the CU is a logical node carrying radio resource control (RRC), service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer, packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer and other control functions of the access network device. The CU can be connected to network nodes such as a core network through some interfaces. For example, an E2 interface. Optionally, the CU can have part of the functions of the core network. The CU (for example, the PDCP layer and / or higher layer of the CU) is connected to the DU (for example, the radio link control (RLC) layer and lower layer of the DU) through some interfaces. For example, an F1 interface. Optionally, the F1 interface can provide control plane (C-Plane) and user plane (U-Plane) functions (for example, interface management, system information management, UE context management, RRC message transmission, etc.). F1AP is an application protocol of the F1 interface, which defines signaling procedures of the F1 in some examples. The F1 interface supports control plane F1-C and user plane F1-U.

[0125] Optionally, as shown in FIG. 2, the CU can be split into a CU-CP and a CU-UP, where the CU-CP is a logical node carrying the control plane part of PDCP (PDCP-C) layer of RRC layer and packet data convergence protocol layer, used to implement the control plane function of the CU. The CU-CP can interact with a network element in the core network for implementing the control plane function. The network element in the core network for implementing the control plane function can be an access and mobility function network element, such as an access and mobility management (AMF) in a 5G system. The AMF network element is used to be responsible for mobility management in a mobile network, such as location update of a terminal device, registration network of the terminal device, handover of the terminal device, and the like. The CU-UP is a logical node carrying the user plane part of PDCP (PDCP-U) layer of SDAP layer and packet data convergence protocol layer, used to implement the user plane function of the CU. The CU-UP can interact with a network element in the core network for implementing the user plane function. The network element in the core network for implementing the user plane function, for example, a user plane function (UPF) in a 5G system, is used to be responsible for forwarding and receiving data in a terminal device. The above configuration of the CU and the DU is only an example, and in actual application, the CU and the DU can also be configured to have functions according to needs. For example, the CU or the DU can be configured to have more functions of protocol layers, or the CU or the DU can be configured to have partial processing functions of protocol layers. For example, partial functions of the RLC layer and functions of protocol layers above the RLC layer are arranged in the CU, and the remaining functions of the RLC layer and functions of protocol layers below the RLC layer are arranged in the DU. For another example, the functions of the CU or the DU can be divided according to service types or other system requirements, for example, functions requiring to meet a relatively short delay requirement in processing time are arranged in the DU, and functions not requiring to meet the delay requirement are arranged in the CU.

[0126] In a possible implementation manner, as shown in FIG. 2, the DU is a logical node carrying an RLC layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, a higher physical (Higher PHY) layer, and other functions. In some examples, the DU can control at least one RU. The DU is connected to the RU through some interfaces, which can be a front-haul interface. In some examples, the Higher PHY layer includes part of PHY layer processing, such as forward error correction (FEC) encoding and decoding, scrambling, modulation and demodulation, and the like.

[0127] In one possible implementation, as shown in FIG. 2, the RU is a logical node that hosts lower physical layer (Lower PHY) and radio frequency (RF) processing. In some examples, the RU can be a 3GPP TRP or a remote radio head (RRH) or other similar functional entity. In some examples, the Low-PHY includes portions of the PHY processing such as fast fourier transform (FFT), inverse fast fourier transformation (IFFT), digital beamforming and filtering, etc. processing functions. The RU communicates with one or more UEs over a wireless link.

[0128] The DU and the RU can or can not be co-located. The DU and the RU exchange control plane and user plane information over a front-haul link via a lower-layer split-control, user and synchronization (Lower-Layer Split CUS-Plane, LLS-CUS) interface. The LLS-CUS can include a lower-layer split control (LLS-C) interface and a lower-layer split user (LLS-U) interface that provide control plane (C-Plane) and user plane (U-Plane), respectively. In some examples, the control plane (C-Plane) refers to real-time control between the DU and the RU. The DU and the RU have a lower-layer split management (LLS-M) interface of the front-haul link to exchange management information, and the management plane (M-Plane) refers to non-real-time management operations between the DU and the RU.

[0129] The DU and the RU can cooperate to collectively implement the functionality of the PHY layer. One DU can be connected to one or more RUs. The functionalities that the DU and the RU have can be configured in multiple ways according to design. For example, the DU is configured to implement baseband functionality, and the RU is configured to implement mid- RF functionality. As another example, the DU is configured to implement high-layer functionality in the PHY layer, and the RU is configured to implement low-layer functionality in the PHY layer or to implement the low-layer functionality and RF functionality. The high-layer functionality in the PHY layer can include a portion of the functionality of the PHY layer that is closer to the MAC layer, and the low-layer functionality in the PHY layer can include another portion of the functionality of the PHY layer that is closer to the mid-RF side.

[0130] The CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU or RU can also have different names in different systems, but those skilled in the art can understand their meanings. For example, in the ORAN system, the CU can also be referred to as O-CU (open CU), the DU can also be referred to as O-DU, the CU-CP can also be referred to as O-CU-CP, the CU-UP can also be referred to as O-CU-UP, and the RU can also be referred to as O-RU. For the convenience of description, the CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU and RU are taken as examples for description in this application.

[0131] It should be noted that the network device can be a device or apparatus with a chip, or a device or apparatus integrated with a circuit, or a chip, chip system, module or control unit in the above-mentioned device or apparatus, and the specific application is not limited. It should be noted that in this application, when referring to the network device, it can refer to the network device itself, or the chip, functional module or integrated circuit in the network device that completes the method provided in this application, and the specific application is not limited.

Beamforming technology can be digital beamforming technology, analog beamforming technology, and hybrid digital / analog beamforming technology. Different beams can be considered as different resources.

[0137] A beam can be referred to as a spatial domain filter, a spatial filter, a spatial domain parameter, a spatial parameter, a spatial domain setting, a spatial setting, quasi-colocation (QCL) information, a QCL assumption, a QCL indication, or the like in the NR protocol. A beam can be indicated by a transmission configuration indicator state (TCI-state) parameter or a spatial relation parameter. Therefore, in this application, a beam can be replaced by a spatial domain filter, a spatial filter, a spatial domain parameter, a spatial parameter, a spatial domain setting, a spatial setting, QCL information, a QCL assumption, a QCL indication, a TCI-state (including an uplink TCI-state and a downlink TCI-state), or a spatial relation, and the like. The above terms are also equivalent to each other. A beam can also be replaced by other terms representing a beam, which are not limited in this application.

[0138] A beam used for transmitting a signal can be referred to as a transmission beam (Tx beam), a spatial domain transmission filter, a spatial transmission filter, a spatial domain transmission parameter, a spatial transmission parameter, a spatial domain transmission setting, or a spatial transmission setting. The transmission beam can also be referred to as a downlink beam. In this application, the transmission beam, the downlink beam, the channel status information reference signal (CSI-RS), the TCI State, the downlink / joint transmission configuration indication state (DLorjointTCI state), the synchronization signal and PBCH block (SS / PBCH, referred to as SSB), and the tracking reference signal (TRS) can be replaced with each other.

[0139] A beam for receiving a signal can be referred to as a reception beam (Rx beam), a spatial domain reception filter, a spatial reception filter, a spatial domain reception parameter, a spatial reception parameter, a spatial domain reception setting, or a spatial reception setting. An uplink transmission beam can be indicated by any one of a spatial relationship, an uplink TCI-state, a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource (indicating a transmission beam using the SRS). A reception beam can also be referred to as an uplink beam. In this application, a reception beam, an uplink beam, an uplink transmission configuration indication state (UL TCI state), a DL or joint TCI state, a sounding reference signal (SRS), a CSI-RS, an SSB, and a TRS can be replaced with each other.

[0140] A transmission beam can refer to a distribution of signal strength in different directions in space after a signal is transmitted by an antenna, and a reception beam can refer to a distribution of signal strength in different directions in space of a wireless signal received by an antenna.

[0141] In addition, a beam can be a wide beam, or a narrow beam, or other types of beams. The technology for forming a beam can be beamforming technology or other technology. The beamforming technology can be digital beamforming technology, analog beamforming technology, hybrid digital beamforming technology, or hybrid analog beamforming technology, etc.

[0142] A beam is generally corresponding to a resource. For example, when performing beam measurement, the network device measures different beams through different resources, and the terminal device feeds back the measured resource quality, so that the network device knows the quality of the corresponding beam. When data transmission, the beam information is also indicated through its corresponding resource. For example, the network device indicates the information of the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) beam of the terminal device through the transmission configuration indication (TCI) field in the downlink control information (DCI). In this application, the beam can be replaced by the resource corresponding to the beam.

[0143] In one possible implementation, multiple beams with the same or similar communication characteristics are considered as one beam. One beam can include one or more antenna ports for transmitting data channels, control channels, and sounding signals, etc. One or more antenna ports forming a beam can also be regarded as an antenna port set.

[0144] 2, QCL: used to indicate that multiple resources have one or more same or similar communication characteristics. For multiple resources with quasi-co-location relationship, the same or similar communication configuration can be used. For example, if two antenna ports have quasi-co-location relationship, the channel large-scale characteristics of one port transmitting one symbol can be inferred from the channel large-scale characteristics of another port transmitting one symbol. The large-scale characteristics can include: delay spread, average delay, Doppler spread, Doppler frequency shift, average gain, reception parameter, terminal device reception beam number, transmission / reception channel correlation, reception angle of arrival, spatial correlation of receiver antenna, main angel-of-arrival (AoA), average angle of arrival, AoA spread, etc. Specifically, the co-location indication is used to indicate whether at least two groups of antenna ports have co-location relationship, including: the co-location indication is used to indicate whether the channel state information reference signals sent by at least two groups of antenna ports come from the same transmission point, or the co-location indication is used to indicate whether the channel state information reference signals sent by at least two groups of antenna ports come from the same beam group.

[0145] 3、TCI: can also be referred to as TCI state. In uplink and downlink transmission, both the network device and the terminal device need to use the correct beam to achieve correct transmission. In downlink transmission, the network device needs to indicate the downlink sending beam it uses to the terminal device. The terminal device can determine the appropriate receiving beam according to the downlink sending beam, which is used to receive information from the network device. In uplink transmission, the network device also needs to indicate to the terminal device which uplink sending beam the terminal device uses to send information to the network device. The network device can determine the uplink sending beam with better signal quality of the terminal device. Both the uplink sending beam and the downlink sending beam can be indicated by the corresponding TCI state. Specifically, the downlink sending beam can be indicated by the downlink TCI state, and the uplink sending beam can be indicated by the uplink TCI state.

[0146] In the 3GPP protocol, the network device can indicate the TCI state to the terminal device through the TCI field in the downlink control information (DCI). The size of the TCI field is 3 bits, which can be specifically represented as 8 different field values (codepoints). Each field value of the TCI field can be associated with an identification of a TCI state. The identification of the TCI state can uniquely identify a TCI state, which can be a downlink TCI state or an uplink TCI state. Each field value of the TCI field can also be associated with two TCI state identifications, which can uniquely identify two TCI states, which can include a downlink TCI state and an uplink TCI state.

[0147] The downlink TCI state includes several parameters, and the terminal device can determine the relevant information of the downlink sending beam through these parameters, so as to determine to use the appropriate receiving beam to receive information from the network device. The TCI state is configured by the network device to each terminal device, and the structure of the downlink TCI state is as follows:

[0148] Each TCI state includes one own identity (tci-StateId) and two quasi-colocation information (QCL-info). Each QCL-info includes one reference signal resource, which is used to indicate that the downlink transmission of this TCI state should use the same downlink timing, frequency offset or receiving beam as the reference signal resource. The specific decision is made by the type of the QCL-info. There are four values for QCL type {typeA, typeB, typeC, typeD}. When the QCL type is typeA, typeB or typeC, the same downlink timing and frequency offset as the reference signal resource should be used for downlink transmission. When the QCL type is typeD, the same receiving beam as the reference signal resource should be used for downlink transmission. Among the above two QCL-infos, one is typeD and the other is typeA or typeB or typeC. The terminal device can determine which receiving beam to use to receive the corresponding downlink transmission through the QCL-info of typeD. The specific execution steps are as follows:

[0149] The network device indicates a certain downlink TCI state to the terminal device through DCI. The terminal device determines the reference signal resource in the QCL information of the downlink TCI state whose type is typeD. The terminal device takes the receiving beam of the reference signal resource as the receiving beam used for downlink transmission. It should be noted that the receiving beam of the reference signal resource is obtained by the terminal device in advance through the beam management process. Through the beam management process, the terminal device can determine which receiving beam is the best to receive the reference signal resource, and take the receiving beam as the receiving beam of the reference signal resource.

[0150] The uplink TCI state includes a reference signal resource, which is used to indicate that the uplink transmission of this TCI state should use the same uplink sending beam as the reference signal resource. The terminal device can determine which sending beam to use for uplink transmission through the reference signal resource. In the uplink TCI state, the reference signal resource is not included in the QCL-info, nor is the QCL type distinguished, because it is not necessary to refer to the uplink timing and frequency offset information, but only to the uplink sending beam. The structure of the uplink TCI state is as follows:

[0151] The specific execution steps are as follows:

[0152] The network device indicates a certain uplink TCI state to the terminal device through DCI. The terminal device determines the reference signal resource in the uplink TCI state. The terminal device takes the transmission beam of the reference signal resource as the transmission beam for uplink transmission. It should be noted that the transmission beam of the reference signal resource is obtained by the terminal device in advance through a beam management process.

[0153] The configuration, activation and indication of the TCI state are introduced below.

[0154] TCI-state configuration: The network device configures multiple TCI-states for the terminal device through RRC signaling. These TCI-states all include a typeD QCL-Info. The network device can also configure TCI-states that do not include typeD QCL-info, but these TCI-states are not used for data transmission beam indication, so they are not further described here.

[0155] TCI-state activation: After the network device configures multiple TCI-states, it also needs to activate 8 of them through a media access control control element (MAC CE). The 8 TCI-states correspond one-to-one to the 8 values of the TCI field in the DCI. That is, which 8 TCI-states correspond to the 8 values of the TCI field in the DCI is determined by the MAC CE.

[0156] TCI state indication: The network device indicates a specific TCI state through the TCI field in the DCI. For example, the value of the TCI field in the DCI sent by the network device to the terminal device is 000, indicating that the data transmission beam adopts the TCI state corresponding to 000. The reference signal contained in the typeD QCL-Info in the TCI state is the CSI-RS with index #1, indicating that the data transmission beam is the same as the receiving beam corresponding to the CSI-RS with index #1. The receiving beam corresponding to the CSI-RS with index #1 can be determined through a beam measurement process and is known to the terminal device. Therefore, through the specific value of the TCI field, the terminal device can determine the beam corresponding to the data transmission beam, and thus adopt the corresponding beam to transmit or receive data.

[0157] It should be noted that the three descriptions of TCI state, TCI-state and TCI state can be replaced with each other in this paper. ID in this application can be translated as identifier, indication, indicator, index, identity, or identification. identifier, indication, indicator, index, identity, identification can be replaced with each other.

[0158] TCI mode: including joint mode and separate mode. The joint mode refers to that the same beam or TCI state is used for uplink transmission and downlink transmission between the TRP (i.e. network device) and the terminal device. The separate mode refers to that different beams or TCI states are used for uplink transmission between the TRP and the terminal device and downlink transmission between the TRP and the terminal device. In this application, the network device can be a TRP or a device containing one or more TRPs. In the joint mode, the TCI state can be referred to as joint TCI state, which can be used for uplink and downlink transmission. In the separate mode, the TCI state used for downlink transmission can be referred to as downlink TCI state (dl-TCI-State), and the TCI state used for uplink transmission can be referred to as uplink TCI state (ul-TCI-State).

[0159] In this application, TCI can be translated as transmission configuration indication or transmission configuration number. The English translation of transmission configuration indication is transmission configuration indicator or transmission configuration indication.

[0160] At present, the terminal device and the network device select a suitable beam through a beam management process and communicate through the selected beam. The beam management process includes: first performing beam coarse alignment based on SSB, and then performing beam fine adjustment based on CSI-RS. The beam management process can be divided into three stages, which are introduced as follows.

[0161] Stage one: coarse beam alignment between the network device and the terminal device.

[0162] The base station performs beam sweeping. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5a, the base station transmits SSBs to the terminal device through beams in different directions at different time instants. Meanwhile, the terminal device sweeps reception beams, that is, the terminal device also receives SSBs from the network device through beams in different directions at different time instants. The terminal device determines a beam for the base station to transmit signals and a beam for the terminal device to receive signals according to the received signal strength. The beam for the base station to transmit signals is referred to as a base station beam, and the beam for the terminal device to receive signals is referred to as a terminal beam.

[0163] Specifically, the base station beam includes The terminal beam includes As shown in FIG. 5b, the base station transmits SSB resource configuration information and reporting resource configuration information to the terminal device. The base station beam includes beams B0 to B5, that is, M = 5. The terminal beam includes beams U0 to U3, that is, N = 4. The base station transmits SSBs to the terminal device through the corresponding SSB resources using the beam B0, transmits SSBs to the terminal device using the beam B1, and so on, and transmits SSBs to the terminal device using the beam B5. The terminal device measures the SSBs transmitted by the base station through the beams B0 to B5 respectively through the beams U0 to U3 respectively, and obtains measurement results. The terminal device can determine a base station beam with better or best signal quality through the measurement results. The terminal device feeds back the base station beam with better or best signal quality to the network device. It should be noted that in stage one, the base station beam and the terminal beam can be understood as wide beams.

[0164] Stage two: base station beam fine adjustment.

[0165] The base station determines a plurality of first candidate beams according to the base station beam with better or best signal quality determined in stage one, each of the first candidate beams being a narrow beam. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 6a, the plurality of first candidate beams includes beams S0 to S2. For example, the base station determines the beam B3 in the above-mentioned stage one, the beam B3 being a wide beam, and the base station determines the beams S0 to S2 through the beam B3. The terminal device determines the better terminal beam in the above-mentioned stage one to be the beam U1. As shown in FIG. 6b, the base station sends the CSI-RS configuration information to the terminal device. The network device sends the CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource using the beam S0, sends the CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource using the beam S1, and sends the CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource using the beam S2. The terminal device receives the CSI-RS sent from the base station through different beams through the beam U1 and obtains measurement results. The terminal device can determine the candidate beam with better or best signal quality through the measurement results. The terminal device feeds back the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality to the network device. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality is the beam S1. The base station takes the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality as the beam for communicating with the terminal device.

[0166] Stage three: UE beam refinement.

[0167] The base station sends the CSI-RS to the terminal device using the beam S1, while the terminal device determines the better terminal beam in the stage one to be the beam U1, the beam U1 being a wide beam. The terminal device determines a plurality of second candidate beams through the beam U1, as shown in FIG. 7, the plurality of second candidate beams including beams P1 to P4. The terminal device receives the CSI-RS sent from the base station through the beam S1 through the beams P1 to P4 and obtains measurement results. The terminal device can select one beam from the beams P1 to P4 according to the measurement results and take the beam as the beam for communicating with the network device.

[0168] The network device can configure the terminal device to report the measurement results in one of the following three ways. The three ways specifically include: periodic reporting, semi-persistent reporting, and aperiodic reporting. The semi-persistent reporting is also referred to as semi-static reporting.

[0169] Periodic reporting: the network device sends reference signal resource configuration information to the terminal device. The reference signal resource configuration information includes periodic reference signal resources. The network device configures periodic measurement reference signals for the terminal device. The terminal device can measure the periodic measurement reference signals based on the reference signal resource configuration information, and periodically report measurement results. Optionally, the measurement results obtained by the terminal device for the periodic measurement reference signals can be carried on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource.

[0170] Semi-persistent reporting: the terminal device measures periodic reference signals, but reports measurement results in a semi-persistent manner. In one possible implementation, the network device sends reference signal resource configuration information to the terminal device. The reference signal resource configuration information includes periodic reference signal resources. The network device configures periodic measurement reference signals for the terminal device. When the terminal device receives activation signaling (for example, MAC CE or DCI) from the network device, the terminal device can continuously report measurement results. Of course, the network device can also send deactivation instructions to the terminal device, thereby deactivating the semi-persistent reporting process of the terminal device. In another possible implementation, both the measurement of the reference signal and the reporting of the measurement results are semi-persistent. When the terminal device receives activation signaling from the network device, the terminal device continuously measures the reference signal and reports the measurement results. When the terminal device receives deactivation instructions from the network device, the terminal device stops reporting the measurement results. In addition, the measurement results can be carried on a PUCCH resource or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource.

[0171] Aperiodic reporting: when the terminal device receives a trigger instruction (for example, DCI) from the network device, the terminal device measures the reference signal and reports the measurement results. After completing the reporting, the terminal device stops reporting the measurement results. Optionally, the reference signal can be a periodic reference signal, a semi-persistent reference signal, or an aperiodic reference signal. Optionally, the measurement results are carried on a PUSCH resource.

[0172] It can be known that the right to lead the measurement result reporting process of the terminal device is in the network device before R18 and R18, that is, the network device decides when the terminal device reports the measurement result. This method leads to a large uplink resource overhead. Specifically, in the periodic reporting and semi-persistent reporting, the terminal device needs to report the measurement result every other period, and these measurement results may be meaningless to the network side. For example, the measurement results reported by the terminal device twice are not different (for example, the optimal beam does not change), thus causing the waste of uplink resources. In release 19 (R19), the UE or event triggered reporting method is introduced. Therefore, how the terminal device informs the network device of the event occurrence is a problem worth considering. Further, the terminal device can report the beam measurement result related to the event. Therefore, how to trigger the measurement result reporting is a problem worth considering.

[0173] The network device can configure a channel state information reporting configuration (CSI-ReportConfig) for a serving cell (for example, component carrier #0 (CC#0)) of the terminal device, and the CSI-ReportConfig is associated with the reference signal resource of CC#1. As shown below, the carrier field contained in the CSI-ReportConfig is used to indicate which cell the reference signal resource set associated with the CSI-ReportConfig belongs to.

[0174] The terminal device can measure the reference signal resource to obtain a measurement result. In one possible implementation, when the measurement result is reported periodically or semi-persistently via a PUCCH resource, the terminal device can report the measurement result via the cell (i.e., CC#0) to which the CSI-ReportConfig belongs. For example, the reference signal resource is of CC#1, i.e., the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs is CC#1. But the terminal device reports the measurement result to CC#0. In another possible implementation, when the measurement result is reported semi-persistently or aperiodically via a PUSCH resource, the terminal device can report the measurement result to the CC (e.g., CC#2) indicated in a DCI. The DCI is a DCI sent by the cell (i.e., CC#0) to which the CSI-ReportConfig belongs. For example, the reference signal resource is of CC#1, i.e., the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs is CC#1. The DCI sent by CC#0 indicates a PUSCH resource scheduling CC#2, and the terminal device reports the measurement result to CC#2. In yet another possible implementation, when the measurement result is reported semi-persistently or aperiodically via a PUSCH resource, the carrier indicator field in the DCI has a length of 0, i.e., there is no carrier indicator field in the DCI, and the DCI is a DCI sent by the cell (i.e., CC#0) to which the CSI-ReportConfig belongs. In this case, the terminal device sends the measurement result to the cell (i.e., CC#0) to which the CSI-ReportConfig belongs. For example, the reference signal resource is of CC#1, i.e., the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs is CC#1. The DCI sent by CC#0 has no carrier indicator field, and the terminal device reports the measurement result to CC#0.

[0175] In this application, the terms beam, TCI state, CSI-RS resource, SSB resource, SRS resource, and reference signal can be replaced with each other. The reference signal resource can be replaced by the description of reference signal, measurement resource, beam measurement resource, or first resource, etc. The reporting indication resource can be replaced by the description of PUCCH indication resource, PUSCH indication resource, scheduling request resource, pre-indication resource, pre-notification resource, event-triggered reporting scheduling request resource, UE-triggered reporting scheduling request resource, first channel resource triggered by UE or event for reporting, second channel resource triggered by UE or event for reporting, reporting request resource triggered by UE or beam for reporting, reporting indication resource triggered by UE or beam for reporting, first PUCCH resource triggered by UE for reporting, or scheduling request resource triggered by UE for reporting. Optionally, the reporting indication resource can be associated with a PUCCH resource, or associated with a scheduling request ID, or associated with a scheduling request resource, or a specially configured PUCCH resource, which is not limited in this application. The reporting resource can be replaced by the description of PUCCH resource, PUSCH resource, event-triggered reporting resource, UE-triggered reporting resource, second channel resource triggered by UE or event, second uplink resource triggered by UE or event, reporting resource triggered by UE or beam for reporting, or reporting resource triggered by event or beam for reporting. The reporting resource can be a periodic PUCCH resource, aperiodic PUSCH resource, semi-persistent PUCCH resource, semi-persistent PUSCH resource, configured grant PUSCH (such as configured grant Type 1 or Type 2 PUSCH), or dynamically scheduled PUSCH resource (such as PUSCH dynamically scheduled by DCI), etc.

[0176] In this application, the event represents an event related to a terminal device initiated report (UE initiated report), or an event related to a terminal device initiated measurement result information report, or an event related to a terminal device initiated report (or measurement result information) after active measurement, or a specific condition related to a terminal device initiated measurement result information report. For example, the terminal device can actively perform measurement (such as beam measurement, or channel measurement, etc.), and then obtain measurement result information related to the event. For another example, the terminal device can perform measurement based on a reference signal according to the configuration of the reference signal resource, and then obtain measurement result information related to the event. For another example, the terminal device actively measures, and reports measurement result information related to the event when a specific condition is met. The event can also be referred to as any of the following: a trigger event, a layer 1 (L1) trigger event, a channel state information (CSI) measurement report trigger event, a beam measurement report trigger event, an L1 CSI report trigger event, an L1 beam measurement report trigger event, etc. The naming is not limited in the embodiments of this application.

[0177] In this application, optionally, the signal quality can be reference signal received power (RSRP), signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), layer 1 reference signal received power (L1-RSRP), layer 1 signal to interference plus noise ratio (L1-SINR), synchronization signal reference signal received power (SS-RSRP), channel state information reference signal received power (CSI-RSRP), synchronization signal signal to interference plus noise ratio (SS-SINR), or channel state information signal to interference plus noise ratio (CSI-SINR), which is not limited in this application.

[0178] The examples provided in the present application are only examples and do not limit the present application. In the present application, high can specifically mean greater than, or greater than or equal to, and low can specifically mean less than, or less than or equal to.

[0179] In the present application, the terms cell, serving cell, component carrier (CC), and the like can be replaced with each other. The serving cell can be a primary cell (Pcell), a secondary cell (Scell), or a primary secondary cell (PScell). The cell of a primary component carrier (PCC) can be referred to as a Pcell, and the cell of a secondary component carrier (SCC) can be referred to as a Scell. In addition, the cell can also be a neighboring cell of the serving cell (such as a cell corresponding to an additional physical cell identifier (additional PCI), a candidate cell, and the like.

[0180] In the present application, the event-triggered reporting mode includes Mode A and Mode B. That is, the terminal device can report the measurement result through Mode A or Mode B. Mode A and Mode B are introduced below.

[0181] I. Mode A includes the following steps a to c.

[0182] Step a: The terminal device sends first uplink signaling to the network device. The first uplink signaling is used to request the network device to schedule second uplink signaling, or in other words, the first uplink signaling is used to request the network device to schedule second uplink resources for the terminal device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the first uplink signaling from the terminal device.

[0183] Optionally, the terminal device sends the first uplink signaling in the case where an event occurs or the occurrence condition of the event is met.

[0184] The first uplink signaling is PUCCH signaling. The first uplink signaling is sent through first uplink resources. The first uplink resources are reporting indication resources or scheduling request resources. For example, as shown in FIG. 8, the terminal device sends the first uplink signaling through the first uplink resources.

[0185] Step b: The network device sends first scheduling signaling to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the first scheduling signaling from the network device.

[0186] The first scheduling signaling is used for scheduling transmission of the second uplink signaling. Alternatively, the first scheduling signaling is used for indicating or scheduling the second uplink resource. For example, as shown in FIG. 8, the network device sends the first scheduling signaling to the terminal device.

[0187] Optionally, the first scheduling signaling is uplink scheduling signaling, and is used for scheduling PUSCH for the terminal device. That is, the first uplink resource is a PUSCH resource.

[0188] Optionally, the first scheduling signaling is downlink scheduling signaling, and is used for scheduling PUCCH for the terminal device. That is, the first uplink resource is a PUCCH resource.

[0189] Optionally, the first scheduling signaling is DCI.

[0190] Step c: The terminal device sends the second uplink signaling to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the second uplink signaling from the terminal device.

[0191] The second uplink signaling includes the measurement result. Optionally, the second uplink signaling is carried on the second uplink resource. The second uplink resource is a reporting resource. As shown in FIG. 8, the terminal device sends the second uplink signaling through the second uplink resource.

[0192] II. Mode B includes the following steps 1 to step 2.

[0193] Step 1: The terminal device sends the third uplink signaling to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the third uplink signaling from the terminal device.

[0194] The third uplink signaling is used for notifying the network device that the terminal device will send the measurement result through the fourth uplink signaling. Alternatively, the third uplink signaling is used for notifying the network device that the terminal device will send the measurement result through the fourth uplink resource.

[0195] Optionally, the terminal device sends the third uplink signaling in a case where an event occurs or a condition for occurrence of the event is met.

[0196] Optionally, the third uplink signaling is carried on the third uplink resource. For example, as shown in FIG. 9, the terminal device sends the third uplink signaling to the network device through the third uplink resource. The third uplink resource is a reporting indication resource or a scheduling request resource.

[0197] Optionally, the third uplink signaling is PUCCH signaling.

[0198] Step 2: The terminal device sends the fourth uplink signaling to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the fourth uplink signaling from the terminal device.

[0199] The fourth uplink signaling includes a measurement result. Optionally, the fourth uplink signaling is carried on the fourth uplink resource. As shown in FIG. 9, the terminal device sends the fourth uplink signaling through the fourth uplink resource.

[0200] Optionally, the fourth uplink resource is a pre-configured PUCCH resource or a PUSCH resource, such as a pre-configured grant-free PUSCH (CG-PUSCH).

[0201] In this application, if a TCI state is a downlink TCI state or a common state, the QCL type D reference signal in the TCI state can be understood as the reference signal corresponding to the reference signal resource in the typeD QCL information in the TCI state. The QCL resource in the TCI state can be understood as the reference signal resource in the typeD QCL information in the TCI state. If a TCI state is an uplink TCI state, the reference signal in the TCI state refers to the reference signal configured in the TCI state. For example, the reference signal configured in ssb-Index-r17, csi-RS-Index-r17, or srs-r17 in the structure of the uplink TCI state described above. The reference signal can be a CSI-RS, an SRS, or an SSB.

[0202] For a downlink TCI state or a common TCI state, the reference signal associated with the QCL TypeD reference signal of the TCI state: an SSB having a QCL relationship with the QCL TypeD reference signal. The SSB is an SSB corresponding to a source QCL resource of a QCL chain. That is, the source QCL resource is an SSB resource. The QCL chain is determined according to the QCL TypeD reference signal of the TCI state. For example, the QCL resource of the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device is a CSI-RS resource. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource is a tracking reference signal (TRS) resource. The TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS corresponding to the CSI-RS. And the QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource is an SSB resource. The TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS corresponding to the TRS. As can be seen, the QCL resource (such as a CSI-RS resource) in the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, the QCL resource (such as a TRS resource) in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource, and the QCL resource (such as an SSB resource) in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource constitute a QCL chain. The source QCL resource of the QCL chain is an SSB resource, and therefore the reference signal associated with the QCL TypeD reference signal of the TCI state is an SSB corresponding to the SSB resource.

[0203] The reference signal associated with the reference signal in the uplink TCI state: the SSB having a QCL relationship with the reference signal in the uplink TCI state. The SSB is the SSB corresponding to the source QCL resource of the QCL chain. That is, the source QCL resource is an SSB resource. The QCL chain is determined according to the reference signal in the TCI state. For example, the network device indicates the reference signal in the uplink TCI state for the terminal device as a CSI-RS. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource adopted by the CSI-RS is a TRS resource. The TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS corresponding to the CSI-RS resource. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource is an SSB resource. The TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS corresponding to the TRS resource. As can be seen, the reference signal resource (such as the CSI-RS resource) corresponding to the reference signal in the uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, the QCL resource (such as the TRS resource) in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource, and the QCL resource (such as the SSB resource) in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource form a QCL chain. The source QCL resource of the QCL chain is an SSB resource, so the reference signal associated with the reference signal in the TCI state is the SSB corresponding to the SSB resource. For another example, the network device indicates the reference signal in the uplink TCI state for the terminal device as an SRS. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the SRS resource adopted by the SRS is an SSB resource. The TCI state corresponding to the SRS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the terminal device to send the SRS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the terminal device to send the SRS corresponding to the SRS resource. The reference signal resource in the TCI state corresponding to the SRS resource is an SSB resource. As can be seen, the reference signal resource (such as the SRS resource) corresponding to the reference signal in the uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, and the reference signal resource (such as the SSB resource) in the TCI state corresponding to the SRS resource form a QCL chain. The source QCL resource of the QCL chain is an SSB resource, so the reference signal associated with the reference signal in the TCI state is the SSB corresponding to the SSB resource.

[0204] In the present application, the event triggered reporting configuration includes an indication information, which is used to indicate that the event triggered reporting configuration is the configuration of event triggered reporting, or is used to indicate that the event triggered reporting configuration contains event related information, such as the index of the event, the threshold value information corresponding to the event, i.e. the threshold value involved in the event definition. Alternatively, the event triggered reporting configuration is configured by a dedicated information element, such as L1-EventTriggered-CSI-ReportConfig or UEInitiated-CSI-ReportConfig. The event triggered reporting configuration includes one or more of the following: cell information; information of one or more events; reference signal resource corresponding to one or more events; reporting resource; reporting indication resource; or reporting quantity of one or more events corresponding to each cell. The cell information includes the index or identifier of the serving cell. The cell information is used to indicate the cell to which the reference signal resource associated with the event triggered reporting configuration belongs. For the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource, please refer to the relevant description in step 1001a below. The reporting quantity of one or more events corresponding to each cell can also be independently configured by the network device or specified by the communication protocol, which is not limited in the present application. The event triggered reporting configuration can also be referred to as event reporting configuration, reporting reporting configuration, or reporting configuration, and the name of the event triggered reporting configuration is not limited in the present application.

[0205] In the present application, the reference signal is SSB, CSI-RS, SRS, TRS, or a path loss reference signal.

[0206] The technical solutions of the present application will be described below in conjunction with specific embodiments.

[0207] FIG. 10 is a schematic diagram of one embodiment of the measurement and reporting method of the present application. Please refer to FIG. 10, the method includes:

[0208] 1001. The terminal device measures the reference signal resource to obtain a first measurement result.

[0209] Wherein, the reference signal resource is one or more. Optionally, the reference signal resource belongs to a reference signal resource set.

[0210] The above step 1001 can be replaced by: the terminal device measures the reference signal to obtain a first measurement result. The reference signal is carried in the reference signal resource.

[0211] Optionally, the reference signals comprise reference signals corresponding to the serving beam and / or reference signals corresponding to the at least one new beam. The reference signals corresponding to the serving beam are reference signals used for monitoring the serving beam. The reference signals corresponding to the at least one new beam are reference signals used for monitoring the at least one new beam. The serving beam is a beam currently used by the terminal device and the network device for transmission. The at least one new beam is a beam of the terminal device other than the serving beam, or in other words, the at least one new beam is a beam of the terminal device different from the serving beam. For example, the at least one new beam can be understood as a candidate beam of the terminal device.

[0212] Optionally, the reference signals corresponding to the serving beam comprise at least one of the following:

[0213] 1. a QCL Type D reference signal in a TCI state (i.e., a common TCI state) indicated by the network device to the terminal device;

[0214] 2. a reference signal associated with the QCL Type D reference signal in the TCI state (i.e., a common TCI state) indicated by the network device to the terminal device;

[0215] In the above first and second items, in the common mode, if the terminal device performs transmission with a single TRP, the network device indicates one TCI state to the terminal device. If the terminal device performs transmission with multiple TRPs, the network device indicates multiple TCI states to the terminal device, i.e., the indicated TCI states are multiple common TCI states.

[0216] 3. a QCL Type D reference signal in a downlink TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device and a reference signal in an uplink TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device;

[0217] 4. a reference signal associated with the QCL Type D reference signal in the downlink TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device and a reference signal associated with the reference signal in the uplink TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device;

[0218] In the above third and fourth items, in the separated mode, if the terminal device performs transmission with a single TRP, the network device indicates one downlink TCI state and one uplink TCI state to the terminal device. If the terminal device performs transmission with multiple TRPs, the network device indicates multiple downlink TCI states and multiple uplink TCI states to the terminal device, each TRP corresponding to one downlink TCI state and one uplink TCI state.

[0219] 5. one or more reference signals configured or indicated by the network device to the terminal device for monitoring the serving beam;

[0220] 6、 the reference signal corresponding to the beam with the worst signal quality in the beams corresponding to the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0221] 7、 the reference signal corresponding to the beam with the best signal quality in the beams corresponding to the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0222] 8、 the reference signal corresponding to the first beam in the beams corresponding to the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device; or,

[0223] 9、 the reference signal corresponding to the last beam in the beams corresponding to the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device.

[0224] Optionally, the reference signal corresponding to the at least one new beam includes at least one of the following:

[0225] 1、 the QCL type D reference signal in the TCI state (i.e., the common TCI state) indicated by the network device for the terminal device, activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0226] 2、 the QCL type D reference signal in the TCI state (i.e., the common TCI state) indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured by the network device for the terminal device;

[0227] 3、 the reference signal associated with the QCL type D reference signal in the TCI state (i.e., the common TCI state) indicated by the network device for the terminal device, activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0228] 4、 the reference signal associated with the QCL type D reference signal in the TCI state (i.e., the common TCI state) indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured by the network device for the terminal device;

[0229] 5、 the QCL type D reference signal in the downlink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured or activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0230] 6、 the reference signal associated with the QCL type D reference signal in the downlink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured or activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0231] 7、 the reference signal in the uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured or activated by the network device for the terminal device;

[0232] 8、 the reference signal associated with the reference signal in the uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, configured or activated by the network device for the terminal device.

[0233] 9. The network device configures or activates for the terminal device a reference signal in a downlink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, and a reference signal in an uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device.

[0234] 10. The network device configures or activates for the terminal device a reference signal associated with a reference signal in a downlink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, and a reference signal associated with a reference signal in an uplink TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device; or,

[0235] 11. The network device configures for the terminal device one or more reference signals for monitoring a new beam.

[0236] The service beam and the at least one new beam are configured by the network device for the terminal device for a same measurement reporting procedure or a same measurement reporting configuration. Therefore, the at least one new beam is referred to as at least one new beam corresponding to the service beam. The terminal device measures the service beam and the at least one new beam.

[0237] Optionally, the reference signal resource includes a resource corresponding to a service beam of the terminal device and / or a resource corresponding to at least one new beam. The resource type corresponding to the service beam is the same as the resource type corresponding to the at least one new beam. For example, the resource corresponding to the service beam is an SSB resource, and the resource corresponding to the at least one new beam is an SSB resource. For another example, the resource corresponding to the service beam is a CSI-RS resource, and the resource corresponding to the at least one new beam is a CSI-RS resource.

[0238] 1002. When the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through a first reporting indication resource. Correspondingly, the network device receives the first indication information from the terminal device.

[0239] The first indication information is used to indicate occurrence of at least one event. Alternatively, the first indication information is used to indicate to the network device that the measurement result triggered by the event needs to be reported. Alternatively, the first indication information is used to indicate that the measurement result triggered by the event is reported on a first reporting resource associated with the first reporting indication resource. Alternatively, the first indication information is used to indicate whether there is occurrence of at least one event. The association between the first reporting indication resource and the first reporting resource will be described below.

[0240] Specifically, when the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event of the terminal device, the terminal device determines the first reporting indication resource, and sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource.

[0241] The following introduces several possible implementation manners of the first reporting indication resource.

[0242] I. The first reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with a first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0243] The first event triggered reporting configuration is an event triggered reporting configuration associated with a reference signal resource and / or at least one event. It should be noted that in one possible implementation manner, the reference signal resource is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration, and / or the at least one event is associated in the first event triggered reporting configuration. This implementation manner establishes the association between the first event triggered reporting configuration and the reference signal resource and / or the at least one event in an explicit association manner. In another possible implementation manner, the network device configures the reference signal resource and / or the at least one event for the terminal device. The network device configures the first event triggered reporting configuration for the terminal device. Then by default, the first event triggered reporting configuration is associated with the reference signal resource and / or the at least one event. The at least one event can be referred to the relevant introduction in step 1001c below.

[0244] In this implementation manner, the reporting indication resource is configured in the granularity of event triggered reporting configuration. The specific configuration process can be referred to the relevant introduction in step 1001a below, which is not described in detail here.

[0245] II. The first reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with at least one event.

[0246] In this implementation manner, the reporting indication resource is configured in the granularity of event. The specific configuration process can be referred to the relevant introduction in step 1001a below, which is not described in detail here.

[0247] III. The first reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to a reference signal resource.

[0248] In this implementation manner, the reporting indication resource is configured in the granularity of reference signal type. The specific configuration process can be referred to the relevant introduction in step 1001a below, which is not described in detail here.

[0249] It should be noted that optionally, the first reporting indication resource can be the first uplink resource shown in the mode A. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of the mode A or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting manner of the mode A. Optionally, the first reporting indication resource can be the third uplink resource shown in the mode B. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of the mode B or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting manner of the mode B.

[0250] It should be noted that if the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode A or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting mode of mode A, the first indication information can be carried in the first uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode A. If the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode B or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting mode of mode B, the first indication information can be carried in the third uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode B.

[0251] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 further includes step 1003. Step 1003 can be performed after step 1002.

[0252] 1003. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the first reporting resource. Correspondingly, the network device receives the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event from the terminal device.

[0253] The following describes several possible implementation manners of the first reporting resource.

[0254] I. The first reporting resource is a reporting resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0255] In this implementation manner, the reporting resource is configured with the event triggered reporting configuration as the granularity. For the specific configuration process, please refer to the related description in step 1001a in the following text, which will not be described here.

[0256] In one possible implementation manner, only the first reporting indication resource associated with the first event reporting configuration is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. When the first measurement result represents the occurrence of the at least one event, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, if the terminal device receives the DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule the second uplink resource for the terminal device. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the reporting mode of mode A.

[0257] In another possible implementation manner, the first reporting indication resource associated with the first event reporting configuration and the first reporting resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration are both configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. When the first measurement result represents the occurrence of the at least one event, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the first reporting resource. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the reporting mode of mode B or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting mode of mode B.

[0258] Optionally, the first reporting resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration is configured only when the event triggered reporting mode of mode B is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. The first reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource in the mode B.

[0259] II. The first reporting resource is the reporting resource associated with the at least one event.

[0260] In this implementation mode, the reporting resource is configured in the granularity of event. For specific configuration process, please refer to the related introduction in step 1001a in the following text, which will not be repeated here.

[0261] In a possible implementation mode, only the first reporting indication resource associated with the at least one event is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. When the first measurement result represents occurrence of the at least one event, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, if the terminal device receives the DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule the second uplink resource for the terminal device. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource. In this implementation mode, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode A or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting mode of mode A.

[0262] In another possible implementation mode, the first reporting indication resource associated with the at least one event and the first reporting resource associated with the at least one event are both configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. When the first measurement result represents occurrence of the at least one event, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the first reporting resource. In this implementation mode, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode B or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event triggered reporting mode of mode B.

[0263] Optionally, the first reporting resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration is configured only when the event triggered reporting mode of mode B is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. The first reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource in the mode B.

[0264] It should be noted that when different events are associated with different reporting indication resources and / or reporting resources, the terminal device does not need to indicate the information of the at least one event through the first indication information or the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event, because the network device can determine the information of the at least one event through the first reporting indication resource and / or the first reporting resource. For the case that multiple cells are associated with the at least one event, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event can include at least one of the following information:

[0265] 1、the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes an index of a cell in which the at least one event occurs. The terminal device indicates to the network device which cell has the at least one event, or indicates which cell reference signal resource measurement result satisfies the occurrence condition of the at least one event.

[0266] 2、the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes an index of a first event triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event. The terminal device indicates to the network device which event triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event occurs.

[0267] 3、the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes an index of a cell corresponding to a first event triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event. The terminal device indicates to the network device which cell the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event is the measurement report corresponding to the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0268] 4、the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes a global index of a reference signal resource. For example, the global index of the reference signal resource wherein, M n represents the number of all reference signal resources in cell n, represents the local reference signal resource index RS ID in cell n n The global reference signal resource index corresponding to the local reference resource index RS ID in cell n. Therefore, through the global index of the reference signal resource, the network device can know the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs, and the terminal device does not need to report the cell index.

[0269] In this implementation mode, if the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes the measurement result of the reference signal resource of the two reference signal types, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event further includes the index of the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located or the index of the reference signal resource. Optionally, the load size of the measurement result corresponding to each event triggered reporting configuration is determined by the load size required by the event associated with the event triggered reporting configuration, or by the cell with the largest load size required for reporting the measurement result related to the event in all cells in which the event is configured.

[0270] Three, the first reporting resource is the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource.

[0271] In this implementation mode, the reporting resource is configured in the granularity of the reference signal type. For specific configuration process, please refer to the related introduction in step 1001a in the following text, which will not be repeated here.

[0272] In a possible implementation, the first event-triggered reporting configuration only configures a first reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. When the first measurement result indicates occurrence of at least one event, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, if the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource for the terminal device. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource. In this implementation, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting mode A or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event-triggered reporting mode A.

[0273] In another possible implementation, the first event-triggered reporting configuration configures a first reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource, and also configures a first reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. When the first measurement result indicates occurrence of at least one event, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. Further, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the first reporting resource. In this implementation, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting mode B or the network device configures the terminal device to adopt the event-triggered reporting mode B.

[0274] Optionally, when the first event-triggered reporting configuration configures the event-triggered reporting mode B, the first reporting resource associated with the first event-triggered reporting configuration is configured. The first reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource in the mode B.

[0275] It should be noted that when different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources and / or reporting resources, the reference signal type does not need to be included in the first indication information or the measurement result corresponding to at least one event. Because the network device can determine the reference signal type through the first reporting indication resource and / or the first reporting resource. When the measurement result corresponding to at least one event is the measurement result reported based on event triggering of multiple cells, the measurement result corresponding to at least one event can include at least one of the following information:

[0276] 1. The measurement result corresponding to at least one event includes an index of a cell in which the at least one event occurs. The terminal device indicates to the network device which cell has the at least one event, or indicates which cell reference signal resource meets the occurrence condition of the at least one event.

[0277] 2. The measurement result corresponding to at least one event includes an index of an event-triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event.

[0278] 3. The measurement result corresponding to the at least one event comprises a global index of a reference signal resource. The global index of the reference signal resource is described in the foregoing. Therefore, the network device can learn the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs, and the terminal device does not need to report the cell index.

[0279] Optionally, the measurement result associated with the at least one event in the step 1003 comprises at least one of the following:

[0280] 1. An index of a serving beam, which can also be understood as an index of a QCL TypeD reference signal in an indicated TCI state; or an index of a QCL TypeD reference signal in an uplink TCI state (UL TCI-state) applied to a current uplink transmission (for example, PUSCH transmission, PUCCH transmission, SRS transmission, and / or physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission); or an index of a QCL TypeD reference signal in a downlink / joint TCI state (DL or joint TCI-state) applied to a current downlink transmission (for example, physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission, PDSCH transmission, and / or CSI-RS transmission).

[0281] 2. Signal quality of the serving beam. For example, RSRP or SINR of the current serving beam.

[0282] The serving beam can comprise one beam or multiple beams, which is not limited in the present application. The number of the serving beam can be determined according to the number of the uplink TCI state or the downlink / joint TCI state indicated by the network device, for example, the uplink TCI state or the downlink / joint TCI state indicated by the DCI signaling. Alternatively, the number of the beam included in the serving beam can be pre-defined by the protocol or pre-configured by the network device. Alternatively, the maximum number of the beam included in the serving beam can be pre-defined by the protocol or configured by the network device.

[0283] 3. An index of at least one new beam, which can also be understood as an index of a QCL TypeD reference signal in an activated TCI state (except the indicated TCI state), or one or more reference signal indexes (except the reference signal corresponding to the serving beam) in the reference signal configured by the network device (for example, the reference signal configured by the network device for measurement, or the reference signal configured by the network device for the terminal device to monitor the occurrence of the event).

[0284] 4. Quality of the at least one new beam. For example, RSRP or SINR of the at least one new beam.

[0285] The at least one new beam can include one beam or multiple beams, which is not limited in the application. The number of beams included in the at least one new beam can be pre-defined by a protocol or pre-configured by the network device. Alternatively, the maximum number of beams included in the at least one new beam can be pre-defined by a protocol or configured by the network device.

[0286] 5. Cell information #1, which can also be understood as which cell the reported measurement result corresponds to, or which cell's reference signal resource is measured by the reported measurement result information. For example, the cell information #1 can be a handover candidate cell identifier, a non-serving cell identifier, a component carrier (CC) index, or a PCI.

[0287] 6. Cell information #2, which can also be understood as which cell the event report configuration corresponding to the reported measurement result is. For example, the cell information #2 can be a handover candidate cell identifier, a non-serving cell identifier, a CC index, or a PCI.

[0288] 7. The reason why the service beam quality is lower than the threshold (for example, the first threshold value). For example, the network device beam misalignment, the terminal device receiving beam misalignment, the transceiving beam misalignment, etc. The misalignment can also be replaced by the words such as expiration, invalidation, etc. Alternatively, it indicates whether the CSI-RS set measurement triggered by "repetition" is "on", which is used to poll the receiving beam on the terminal device side.

[0289] 8. Reference signal resource set index, for example, CSI-RS resource set (CSI-RS-ResourceSet) index, CSI interference measurement (IM) resource set (CSI-IM-ResourceSet) index, channel state-synchronization signal-broadcast channel measurement resource block (CSI-SSB) resource set (CSI-SSB-ResourceSet) index, or the reference signal resource set index configured by the network device for the terminal device to monitor the occurrence of the event, which is used to indicate which reference signal resource set the reported service beam and / or at least one new beam belongs to.

[0290] 9. Event trigger report configuration index, for example, CSI report configuration identifier (CSI-ReportConfigId), or event trigger report configuration index.

[0291] 10、event information, for example, an index of an event that occurs, or one or more bits for indicating whether an event occurs. For example, the event information includes M bits, for indicating an index of an event that occurs. For another example, the event information includes X bits, the X bits one-to-one correspond to X events, and the xth bit in the X bits is for indicating whether the event corresponding to the xth bit occurs, x = 1, 2, …, X. For example, if the xth bit takes a value of “0”, the xth bit is for indicating that the event corresponding to the xth bit occurs, or if the xth bit takes a value of “1”, the xth bit is for indicating that the event corresponding to the xth bit occurs.

[0292] 11、channel state information, for example, one or more of a precoding matrix indicator (PMI), a rank indicator (RI), a channel quality indicator (CQI), and a layer indicator (LI).

[0293] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 further includes step 1001a. Step 1001a can be performed before step 1002.

[0294] 1001a、the network device sends first configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the first configuration information from the network device.

[0295] The first configuration information is for indicating a first event-triggered reporting configuration.

[0296] The following describes several possible implementation manners of the network device configuring a reporting indication resource and / or a reporting resource for the terminal device. The present application is still applicable to other implementation manners, and the present application is not limited in particular.

[0297] Manner one, the first event-triggered reporting configuration includes a reporting indication resource associated with the first event-triggered reporting configuration, and / or a reporting resource associated with the first event-triggered reporting configuration.

[0298] In this implementation manner, the first reporting indication resource in step 1002 described above is the reporting indication resource associated with the first event-triggered reporting configuration.

[0299] In this implementation manner, the first reporting resource in step 1003 described above is the reporting resource associated with the first event-triggered reporting configuration.

[0300] In this implementation manner, the network device configures a reporting indication resource and / or a reporting resource with an event-triggered reporting configuration as a granularity.

[0301] Optionally, the first configuration information comprises at least one of the following: first cell information; an index of a first report indication resource; an index of a first report resource; or a reporting period and an offset of the first report resource.

[0302] The first cell information is used to indicate a cell to which a reference signal resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration belongs, or in other words, a cell to which a reference signal resource used for monitoring whether an event occurs in the first event triggered reporting configuration belongs. The first report indication resource is used to send first indication information, the first indication information is used to indicate occurrence of at least one event, or the first indication information is used to indicate to the network device that measurement results triggered by the event need to be reported, or the first indication information is used to indicate that the first report resource associated with the first report indication resource reports measurement results triggered by the event. The first report resource is used to report measurement results corresponding to at least one event. Optionally, when the terminal device reports measurement results in the event triggered reporting mode B, the first report resource is configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0303] The following describes a possible configuration format of the first configuration information, and the first configuration information is not limited to the following information elements. As shown below:

[0304] The L1-EventTriggered-CSI-ReportConfigg is the first event triggered reporting configuration, the Carrier field is used to indicate the first cell information. The ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of the first report indication resource. The reportConfigType field is used to indicate the event triggered reporting mode. If configured as mode A, an offset between a time domain position of DCI sent by the network device and a time domain position occupied by the second report resource scheduled by the DCI is further configured. If configured as mode B, an index of the first report resource, a reporting period and an offset of the first report resource used in mode B are further configured. The above configuration format can be understood as a first information element in the first configuration information. The representation of the above field is only one possible example, and the present application is not limited to the representation of the field shown.

[0305] It should be noted that when the first event triggered reporting configuration is associated with multiple cells, for each cell, the first configuration information comprises a configuration format similar to that shown above. That is, each cell associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration is associated with a corresponding report indication resource and / or report resource.

[0306] Optionally, the first configuration information is used for indicating a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations comprises the first event triggered reporting configuration. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations is event triggered reporting configurations of a same cell. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations is associated with a same reporting indication resource, and / or, a same reporting resource, and / or, a same reporting period and offset. In other words, the terminal device does not expect that different event triggered reporting configurations of a same cell are associated with different reporting indication resources, and / or, different reporting resources, and / or, different reporting period and offset. That is, the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations of a same cell is associated with a same reporting indication resource, and / or, a same reporting resource, and / or, a same reporting period and offset.

[0307] Optionally, the first configuration information is used for indicating a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations comprises the first event triggered reporting configuration. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations is associated with a same reporting indication resource, and / or, a same reporting resource, and / or, a same reporting period and offset. In other words, the first configuration information is used for indicating a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations comprises the first event triggered reporting configuration. The plurality of event triggered reporting configurations is associated with a same reporting indication resource.

[0308] Optionally, the first configuration information is used for indicating a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations.

[0309] The configuration mode of the first event triggered reporting configuration is shown in the above mode one. The configuration mode of other event triggered reporting configurations is similar. For details, refer to the above description of the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0310] In mode two, the first event triggered reporting configuration comprises at least one event associated reporting indication resource, and / or, at least one event associated reporting resource. That is, in the first event triggered reporting configuration, each event is associated with a corresponding reporting indication resource and / or a corresponding reporting resource. Different events are associated with different reporting indication resources and / or different reporting resources.

[0311] In this implementation, the first reporting indication resource in the step 1002 is associated with the at least one event.

[0312] In this implementation, the first reporting resource in the step 1003 is associated with the at least one event.

[0313] Optionally, the communication protocol specifies that different events are associated with different reporting indication resources and / or different reporting resources in the first event triggered reporting. That is, the terminal device does not expect that different events are associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource. If different events are associated with different reporting indication resources, the network device can know which event occurs by receiving the reporting indication resource where the indication information indicating the occurrence of the event is located. If different events are associated with different reporting resources, the network device can know which event the measurement result corresponds to by receiving the reporting resource where the measurement result is located.

[0314] Optionally, the first configuration information includes at least one of the following: information (for example, an index) of one or more events; reporting indication resource information (for example, a reporting indication resource index) associated with each event, reporting resource information (for example, a reporting resource index) associated with each event, or a reporting period and an offset of the reporting resource associated with each event. When the event triggered reporting mode configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration is mode B, the first configuration information includes the reporting resource associated with each event and / or the reporting period and the offset of the reporting resource associated with each event. The reporting period can be x time domain symbols, y time slots, z subframes, or m frames. The offset can be x time domain symbols, y time slots, z subframes, or m frames. x is an integer greater than or equal to 1, y is an integer greater than or equal to 1, z is an integer greater than or equal to 1, and m is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

[0315] Optionally, the first configuration information is used to indicate a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations, the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations include the first event triggered reporting configuration, the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations are associated with a same event, and the same event in the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations is associated with the same reporting indication resource, the same reporting resource, and / or the same reporting period and offset. In other words, the terminal device does not expect that the same event in different event triggered reporting configurations is associated with different reporting indication resources, different reporting resources, and / or different reporting periods and offsets.

[0316] A possible configuration format of the first configuration information is introduced as follows, and the first configuration information is not limited to the following information elements. As shown below:

[0317] Wherein, L1-EventTriggered-CSI-ReportConfig is the first event triggered report configuration, and one of Eventld field and EventType field exists in the first event triggered report configuration. The Eventld field is used to indicate the identification of the event associated in the first event triggered report configuration. The EventType field is used to indicate the event type associated in the first event triggered report configuration. The ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of the first report indication resource. The reportSlotConfig field is used to indicate the reporting period and offset of the first report resource. The pucch-CSI-ResourceList field is used to indicate the index of the first report resource. Optionally, the reportSlotConfig field and the pucch-CSI-ResourceList field are effective, configured or meaningful only when the mode B event triggered reporting manner is configured in the first event triggered report configuration.

[0318] The above configuration format only indicates one event. The above configuration format can be the second information element in the first configuration information. In actual application, the second information element can contain the index of multiple events, the index of the report indication resource associated with each event, the index of the report resource associated with each event, and the reporting period and offset of the report resource associated with each event. That is, when multiple events are associated with the first event triggered report configuration, the first configuration information includes the configuration format similar to the above for each event. That is, each event associated with the first event triggered report configuration is associated with a corresponding report indication resource and / or report resource.

[0319] The above mode two shows the configuration manner of the first event triggered report configuration. The configuration manner of other event triggered report configurations is similar. For details, refer to the above description of the first event triggered report configuration.

[0320] Mode three, the first event triggered report configuration includes the report indication resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource in the first event triggered report configuration. That is, each reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource in the first event triggered report configuration is associated with a corresponding report indication resource and / or a corresponding report resource. Different reference signal types are associated with different report indication resources and / or different report resources. That is, the reference signal resources of different reference signal types in the first event triggered report configuration are associated with different report indication resources and / or different report resources.

[0321] In the implementation, the first reporting indication resource in the step 1002 is a reporting indication resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource in the step 1001.

[0322] In the implementation, the first reporting resource in the step 1003 is a reporting resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource in the step 1001.

[0323] Optionally, the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource in the first event triggered reporting configuration comprises at least one of SSB, CSI-RS, and TRS.

[0324] Optionally, the first configuration information is used to indicate a plurality of event triggered reporting configurations, and the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations comprises the first event triggered reporting configuration. The reporting indication resources of the same reference signal type in the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations are associated with each other, the reporting resources of the same reference signal type in the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations are associated with each other, and / or the reporting periods and offsets of the same reference signal type in the plurality of event triggered reporting configurations are associated with each other. In other words, the terminal device does not expect that the reference signal resources of the same reference signal type in different event triggered reporting configurations are associated with different reporting indication resources, associated with different reporting resources, and / or associated with different reporting periods and offsets.

[0325] Optionally, the communication protocol stipulates that different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources, and / or associated with different reporting resources, and / or associated with different reporting periods and offsets. That is, the terminal device does not expect that different reference signal types are associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or associated with the same reporting resource. If different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources, the network device can know which reference signal type of the reference signal resource corresponding to the measurement result satisfies the occurrence condition of the event by receiving the reporting indication resource where the indication information indicating the occurrence of the event is located. If different reference signal types are associated with different reporting resources, the network device can know which reference signal type of the measurement result is by receiving the reporting resource where the measurement result is located.

[0326] Optionally, the first configuration information comprises at least one of the following: the reference signal type, the index of the first reporting indication resource, the index of the first reporting resource, or the reporting period and offset of the first reporting resource. When the event triggered reporting mode configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration is mode B, the first configuration information comprises the index of the first reporting resource and the reporting period and offset of the first reporting resource.

[0327] The following introduces a possible configuration format of the first configuration information, and the first configuration information is not limited to the following information elements. As shown below:

[0328] L1-EventTriggered-CSI-ReportConfig, RSType field is used to indicate the reference signal type of the reference signal resource configured in the first event triggered reporting configuration. ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of the first reporting indication resource. reportSlotConfig field is used to indicate the reporting period and offset of the first reporting resource. pucch-CSI-ResourceList field is used to indicate the index of the first reporting resource. Optionally, the reportSlotConfig field and the pucch-CSI-ResourceList field are only valid, configured or meaningful when the first event triggered reporting configuration is configured with the event triggered reporting mode B.

[0329] The above configuration format only indicates one reference signal type. The above configuration format can be the third information element in the first configuration information. In actual application, the third information element can include multiple reference signal types, the index of the reporting indication resource associated with each reference signal type, the index of the reporting resource associated with each reference signal type, and the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with each reference signal type. That is, when the first event triggered reporting configuration is associated with multiple reference signal types, the first configuration information includes the configuration format similar to the above for each reference signal type. That is, each reference signal type associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration is associated with a corresponding reporting indication resource and / or reporting resource.

[0330] The above mode three shows the configuration mode of the first event triggered reporting configuration. The configuration mode of other event triggered reporting configurations is similar. For details, refer to the above description of the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0331] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 further includes step 1001b. Step 1001b can be performed before step 1001.

[0332] 1001b, the terminal device sends the capability information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the capability information from the terminal device.

[0333] The capability information includes at least one of the following: information about whether the terminal device supports event-triggered reporting, one or more events supported by the terminal device for event-triggered reporting, information about whether each cell (i.e., CC) of the terminal device supports event-triggered reporting, a maximum number of event-triggered reporting configurations supported by the terminal device, a maximum number of event-triggered reporting configurations supported by each cell of the terminal device, a number of cells associated with one event-triggered reporting configuration supported by the terminal device, a number of events of each cell associated with one event-triggered reporting configuration supported by the terminal device, a maximum number of reporting beams or a maximum number of reporting new beams supported by each event of the terminal device, a maximum number of CCs for simultaneous event-triggered reporting supported by the terminal device, a maximum number of events for simultaneous event-triggered reporting supported by the terminal device, or a maximum number of event-triggered reporting configurations for simultaneous event-triggered reporting supported by the terminal device.

[0334] If the terminal reports the capability information, it indicates that the terminal supports the capability indicated by the capability information. If the terminal does not report the capability information, it indicates that the terminal does not support the capability indicated by the capability information. Alternatively, if the terminal reports the capability information, it indicates that the terminal supports the capability indicated by the capability information. If the terminal reports the capability information, it indicates that the terminal does not support the capability indicated by the capability information. Alternatively, the terminal device can report part of the capability information, and when the terminal device supports the capability indicated by the part of the capability information, it implicitly indicates that the terminal device supports the capability indicated by another part of the capability information, but the terminal device can not report the other part of the capability information. For example, the terminal device indicates to the network device that the terminal device supports the capability of event-triggered reporting, and the communication protocol stipulates that the terminal device supporting event-triggered reporting supports the triggering reporting of all events, which is not limited in the present application.

[0335] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 further includes step 1001c. Step 1001c can be performed before step 1001.

[0336] 1001c. The network device sends third configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the third configuration information from the network device.

[0337] The third configuration information is used to indicate one or more events. For example, the third configuration information includes event information of the one or more events. For example, the event information includes an index of the one or more events, or includes an event table including the one or more events.

[0338] Optionally, the network device sends activation signaling to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the activation signaling from the network device. The activation signaling is used to activate part or all of the one or more events.

[0339] Further, the network device sends deactivation signaling to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the deactivation signaling from the network device. The deactivation signaling is used to deactivate part or all of the one or more events.

[0340] Optionally, the one or more events include at least one of the following:

[0341] 1. The signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than a first threshold value, or the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than or equal to a first threshold value.

[0342] 2. The difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is greater than a second threshold value, or the difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is greater than or equal to a second threshold value.

[0343] 3. The signal quality of one new beam is greater than a third threshold value, or the signal quality of one new beam is greater than or equal to a third threshold value.

[0344] 4. The signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than a fourth threshold value, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than a fifth threshold value, or the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than or equal to a fourth threshold value, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than a fifth threshold value, or the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than or equal to a fourth threshold value, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than or equal to a fifth threshold value. Optionally, the fifth threshold value is greater than the fourth threshold value, or the fifth threshold value is greater than or equal to the fourth threshold value.

[0345] 5. The difference between the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device and the signal quality of the beam corresponding to the reference signal (i.e., SSB) associated with the QCL Type D reference signal of the TCI state corresponding to the serving beam of the terminal device is greater than a sixth threshold value, or the difference between the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device and the signal quality of the beam corresponding to the reference signal (i.e., SSB) associated with the QCL Type D reference signal of the TCI state corresponding to the serving beam of the terminal device is greater than or equal to a sixth threshold value.

[0346] Specifically, the TCI state corresponding to the serving beam of the terminal device is a QCL Type D reference signal in the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device. For example, the QCL Type reference signal can be a CSI-RS. The reference signal associated with the QCL Type D reference signal in the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device is an SSB. The signal quality of the SSB is higher than the signal quality of the CSI-RS, or in other words, the signal quality of the CSI-RS is lower than the signal quality of the SSB. The difference between the signal quality of the SSB and the signal quality of the CSI-RS is a sixth threshold value.

[0347] 6. The absolute difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than a seventh threshold value; or the absolute difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device is less than or equal to the seventh threshold value.

[0348] 7. The signal quality of the serving beam of the terminal device does not belong to the K beams with the best signal quality measured by the terminal device. K is an integer of 1.

[0349] 8. The difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal with the worst signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device is greater than an eighth threshold value; or the difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal with the worst signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device is greater than or equal to the eighth threshold value.

[0350] In this implementation, the serving beam of the terminal device can be the beam corresponding to the reference signal with the worst signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device.

[0351] 9. The difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal with the best signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device is greater than a ninth threshold value; or the difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal with the best signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device is greater than or equal to the ninth threshold value.

[0352] In this implementation, the serving beam of the terminal device can be the beam corresponding to the reference signal with the best signal quality among the reference signals associated with the TCI state activated by the network device for the terminal device.

[0353] 10、 the difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal configured by the network device for the terminal device is greater than a tenth threshold value; or the difference between the signal quality of the at least one new beam and the signal quality of the reference signal configured by the network device for the terminal device is greater than or equal to the tenth threshold value.

[0354] It should be noted that the first threshold value to the tenth threshold value can be dBm (decibel milliwatt) or dB (decibel) respectively. The first threshold value to the tenth threshold value can be configured or indicated by the network device, or specified by the communication protocol, or determined according to the capability of the terminal device, which is not limited in the present application. For example, the second threshold value can be greater than or equal to 0, such as 3 dB.

[0355] In the embodiments of the present application, the terminal device measures the reference signal resource to obtain the first measurement result. Then, when the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource, so as to indicate the occurrence of the at least one event to the network device. The first reporting indication resource is the reporting indication resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration, the first event triggered reporting configuration is the event triggered reporting configuration associated with the reference signal resource and / or the at least one event; or the first reporting indication resource is the reporting indication resource associated with the at least one event; or the first reporting indication resource is the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. This is convenient for the terminal device to determine the first reporting indication resource and report the first indication information through the first reporting indication resource, which is conducive to improving the reporting efficiency.

[0356] FIG. 11 is another embodiment of the measurement and reporting method according to the present application. Please refer to FIG. 11, the method comprises:

[0357] 1101、the terminal device measures the reference signal resource to obtain the first measurement result.

[0358] Step 1101 is similar to step 1001 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10, and the specific description can be referred to the related introduction of step 1001 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10, which will not be repeated here.

[0359] 1102、when the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the second reporting indication resource. Correspondingly, the network device receives the first indication information from the terminal device.

[0360] The second reporting indication resource is determined according to the first association relationship. The first association relationship will be introduced later.

[0361] Optionally, the second reporting indication resource can be the first uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode A. In this implementation mode, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting mode of mode A. The first indication information is carried in the first uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode A.

[0362] Optionally, the second reporting indication resource can be the third uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode B. In this implementation mode, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting mode of mode B. The first indication information is carried in the third uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode B.

[0363] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 further includes step 1103. Step 1103 can be performed after step 1102.

[0364] 1103. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the second reporting resource. Correspondingly, the network device receives the measurement result corresponding to at least one event from the terminal device.

[0365] The second reporting resource is determined according to the first association relationship.

[0366] Optionally, the first association relationship is preconfigured, or is specified by a communication protocol, or is configured by the network device for the terminal device, or is configured by the network device according to the reported terminal capability, which is not limited in the present application.

[0367] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 further includes step 1101a. Step 1101a can be performed before step 1101.

[0368] 1101a. The network device sends second configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the second configuration information from the network device.

[0369] The second configuration information is used to indicate the first association relationship.

[0370] The following describes several possible implementation modes of the first association relationship.

[0371] I. The first association relationship includes at least one of the following: the association relationship between the cell of the terminal device and the reporting indication resource, the association relationship between the cell of the terminal device and the reporting resource, or the association relationship between the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource. Optionally, the cell is a cell containing event-triggered reporting configuration, or a cell configured with events or reference signal resources for monitoring events.

[0372] Optionally, different cells are associated with different reporting indication resources, or different cells are associated with the same reporting indication resource.

[0373] Optionally, different cells are associated with different reporting resources, or different cells are associated with the same reporting resources.

[0374] Optionally, different reporting indication resources are associated with different reporting resources, or different reporting indication resources are associated with the same reporting resources.

[0375] For example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different cells. When at least one event occurs in a first cell of the terminal device, or when the measurement result of the reference signal resource of the first cell of the terminal device meets the occurrence condition of at least one event, or when at least one event occurs in the event triggered reporting configuration associated with the first cell of the terminal device, the terminal device can send first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource associated with the first cell. Further, if the terminal device receives a DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource. Alternatively, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event through a preconfigured uplink resource.

[0376] For another example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different cells, and also configures reporting resources associated with different cells. Further, the terminal device also sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the reporting resource associated with the first cell. Optionally, the first reporting resource is only effective or configured when the event triggered reporting configuration of the first cell or the event triggered reporting mode of the first cell is configured in mode B.

[0377] Optionally, the first association relationship can include the association relationship between the identifier of the cell and the reporting indication resource, and / or the association relationship between the identifier of the cell and the reporting resource. Of course, the first association relationship can also include the association relationship between other information of the cell and the reporting indication resource, and / or the association relationship between other information of the cell and the reporting resource, which is not limited in the present application.

[0378] In a possible implementation, in the first association relationship, the cells of the terminal device are in one-to-one association or one-to-one correspondence with the reporting indication resources, that is, each cell is associated with one reporting indication resource, and different cells are associated with different reporting indication resources. The cells of the terminal device are in one-to-one association with the reporting resources, that is, each cell is associated with one reporting resource, and different cells are associated with different reporting resources. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 1:

[0379] Table 1

[0380] As shown in Table 1, cell 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1 and uplink resource #1, cell 2 is associated with reporting indication resource #1 and uplink resource #3, and cell 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3 and uplink resource #3.

[0381] Optionally, the communication protocol specifies that different cells are associated with different reporting indication resources, and / or are associated with different reporting resources. The terminal device does not expect different cells to be associated with the same reporting indication resource, and / or are associated with the same reporting resource. If different cells are associated with different reporting indication resources, the network device can know which cell has an event occurrence or can know that the event of the event trigger reporting configuration associated with the event exists by receiving the reporting indication resource in which the information for indicating the event occurrence is located. If different cells are associated with different reporting resources, the network device can know that the measurement result is the measurement result corresponding to the reference signal resource of which cell or the measurement result corresponding to the reporting configuration corresponding to which cell by receiving the reporting resource in which the measurement result is located.

[0382] In another possible implementation, in the first association relationship, multiple cells of the terminal device are associated with the same reporting indication resource, and / or are associated with the same reporting resource. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 2:

[0383] Table 2

[0384] As shown in Table 2, cell 1 and cell 2 are both associated with reporting indication resource #1, and cell 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Cell 1 is associated with uplink resource #1, cell 2 is associated with uplink resource #2, and cell 3 is associated with uplink resource #3.

[0385] Alternatively, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 3:

[0386] Table 3

[0387] As shown in Table 3, cell 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1, cell 2 is associated with reporting indication resource #2, and cell 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Cell 1 and cell 2 are both associated with uplink resource #1, and cell 3 is associated with uplink resource #3.

[0388] Alternatively, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 4:

[0389] Table 4

[0390] As shown in Table 4, cell 1 and cell 2 are both associated with reporting indication resource #1, and cell 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Cell 1 and cell 2 are both associated with uplink resource #1, and cell 3 is associated with uplink resource #3.

[0391] In another possible implementation manner, in the first association relationship, one cell of the terminal device is associated with multiple reporting indication resources, and / or is associated with multiple reporting resources. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 5:

[0392] Table 5

[0393] As shown in Table 5, cell 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1 and reporting indication resource #2, and cell 2 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Cell 1 is associated with uplink resource #1, and cell 2 is associated with uplink resource #2.

[0394] Optionally, the second reporting indication resource in the step 1102 is a reporting indication resource associated with the first cell. Optionally, the second reporting resource in the step 1103 is a reporting resource associated with the first cell. It should be noted that when the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of mode B or the first cell configures the event triggered reporting manner of mode B, the first association relationship configures the reporting resource associated with the first cell, that is, the second reporting resource. The second reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource in the foregoing mode B. The measurement result corresponding to at least one event is carried in the fourth uplink signaling in the foregoing mode B.

[0395] It should be noted that the reporting resources in the foregoing Tables 1 to 5 are optional. For example, in the foregoing Table 1, the network device can not configure the reporting resource associated with cell 3.

[0396] In a possible implementation manner, the first cell is a cell to which a reference signal resource belongs. The cell to which the reference signal resource belongs refers to a cell indicated by a carrier field in an event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located, or refers to a cell to which the reference signal resource belongs indicated by the carrier field in the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located. The event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located refers to an event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is configured.

[0397] Specifically, the terminal device determines a cell indicated by a carrier field in the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located, i.e., a first cell. It can be understood that the carrier field in the event triggered reporting configuration indicates a cell to which the reference signal resource belongs, or indicates a cell for monitoring whether an event occurs. When the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through a reporting indication resource associated with the first cell. Further, if the event triggered reporting manner configured in the event reporting configuration is mode B, the terminal device sends a measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through a reporting resource associated with the first cell.

[0398] In this implementation manner, optionally, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes at least one of the following: a cell to which the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located belongs, a reference signal type of the reference signal resource, information of the at least one event, or an index of the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located, i.e., an index of a first event triggered reporting configuration. For example, when the first cell is associated with multiple events, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event further includes an index of the at least one event. When the first cell has two reference signal types, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event further includes a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. When at least two event triggered reporting configurations are associated with the reference signal resource of the first cell, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event further includes an index of an event triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event. The network device determines the reference signal resource associated with the event triggered reporting configuration associated with the at least one event, and further knows that the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event is a measurement result corresponding to a reference signal resource of which reference signal type.

[0399] In another possible implementation manner, the first cell is a cell to which the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located belongs. The cell to which the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located belongs refers to a cell configured by the event triggered reporting configuration.

[0400] Specifically, the terminal device determines a cell to which the event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located belongs. For example, the cell belongs to a first cell.

[0401] In this implementation, optionally, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes at least one of the following: an index of a cell to which the reference signal resource belongs, a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource, information of the at least one event, or an index of an event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located, i.e., an index of the first event triggered reporting configuration.

[0402] In a possible implementation, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes an index of an event triggered reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located. The network device determines the reference signal resource associated with the first event triggered reporting configuration, and then knows which measurement result corresponding to the at least one event is the measurement result of which reference signal type of the first cell.

[0403] In another possible implementation, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes an index of a cell to which the reference signal resource belongs and / or a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. The network device can know which measurement result is the measurement result of which cell through the index of the cell to which the reference signal resource belongs. The network device can know which measurement result is the measurement result of which reference signal type through the reference signal type.

[0404] In still another possible implementation, the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event includes information of the at least one event. Thus, it is convenient for the network device to obtain which events in the first event triggered reporting configuration of the first cell occur.

[0405] Optionally, the second configuration information in the step 1101a includes at least one of the following: second cell information, an index of a reporting indication resource, an index of a reporting resource, or a reporting period and an offset of the reporting resource. The second cell information is used to indicate an index of the first cell (hereinafter taken as a serving cell).

[0406] A possible configuration format of the second configuration information is introduced as follows:

[0407] The Carrier field is used to indicate the second cell information. The ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of the reporting indication resource associated with the cell (i.e., the first cell) indicated by the second cell information. The reportSlotConfig field is used to indicate the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with the cell (i.e., the first cell) indicated by the second cell information. The pucch-CSI-ResourceList field is used to indicate the index of the reporting resource associated with the cell (i.e., the first cell) indicated by the second cell information. Optionally, the reportSlotConfig field and the pucch-CSI-ResourceList field are valid, configured or meaningful only when the cell indicated by the Carrier field is configured with the event triggered reporting mode B.

[0408] The configuration format described above can be a fourth information element in the second configuration information. In actual application, the fourth information element can contain the index of multiple cells and the reporting indication resource, the reporting resource, and / or the reporting period and offset associated with each of the cells. In another possible implementation, the second configuration information includes one or more fourth information elements, each of which includes the index of a cell and the reporting indication resource, the reporting resource, and / or the reporting period and offset associated with the cell. Optionally, the fourth information element further includes the index of the fourth information element. Different fourth information elements include the index of different cells and the reporting indication resource, the reporting resource, and / or the reporting period and offset associated with different cells. Optionally, the one or more fourth information elements are contained in a fourth information element table.

[0409] The first association relationship includes at least one of the following: an association relationship between an event of the terminal device and a reporting indication resource, an association relationship between an event of the terminal device and a reporting resource, or an association relationship between a reporting indication resource and a reporting resource.

[0410] Optionally, different events are associated with different reporting indication resources, or different events are associated with the same reporting indication resource.

[0411] Optionally, different events are associated with different reporting resources, or different events are associated with the same reporting resource.

[0412] Optionally, different reporting indication resources are associated with different reporting resources, or different reporting indication resources are associated with the same reporting resource.

[0413] For example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different events. In one possible implementation, the same event of all cells of the terminal device is associated with the same reporting indication resource and the same reporting resource. For example, when an event of at least one cell occurs, the terminal device can send, to the network device, indication information indicating occurrence of the event through the reporting indication resource associated with the event. Further, if the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource, the terminal device sends, to the network device, a measurement result corresponding to the event through the second reporting resource. Alternatively, the terminal device sends, to the network device, the measurement result corresponding to the event through a preconfigured uplink resource.

[0414] For example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different events, and also configures reporting resources associated with different events. In one possible implementation, the same event of all cells of the terminal device is associated with the same reporting indication resource and the same reporting resource. When an event of at least one cell occurs, the terminal device sends, to the network device, indication information indicating occurrence of the event through the reporting indication resource associated with the event. Further, the terminal device also sends, to the network device, a measurement result corresponding to the event through the reporting resource associated with the event. Optionally, the reporting resource associated with the event is effective or configured only when the event triggered reporting mode B is configured in the event triggered reporting configuration of the cell or the cell.

[0415] In one possible implementation, when a certain event does not need to report a measurement result, the network device does not need to configure a reporting resource associated with the event. For example, for event 1 (i.e., the signal quality of a serving beam is lower than a first threshold value), the terminal device does not need to report a measurement result corresponding to event 1. The network device can only configure a reporting indication resource associated with event 1, and does not need to configure a reporting resource associated with event 1. When event 1 occurs, the terminal device sends, to the network device, indication information indicating occurrence of event 1 through the reporting indication resource associated with event 1. There is no need to report a measurement result corresponding to event 1.

[0416] Optionally, if the trigger reporting mode configured in an event triggered reporting configuration is mode B, when a certain event associated with the event triggered reporting configuration occurs, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the event, and reports a measurement result corresponding to the event through the reporting resource associated with the event. If the trigger reporting mode configured in an event triggered reporting configuration is mode A, when a certain event associated with the event triggered reporting configuration occurs, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the event. Then, the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource. The terminal device sends, to the network device, a measurement result corresponding to the event through the second uplink resource.

[0417] Optionally, the first association relationship includes an association relationship between an index of an event and the reporting indication resource, and / or an association relationship between the index of the event and the reporting resource. Alternatively, the first association relationship includes an association relationship between a type of an event and the reporting indication resource, and / or an association relationship between the type of the event and the reporting resource. Of course, the first association relationship can also include an association relationship between other information of an event and the reporting indication resource, and / or an association relationship between the other information of the event and the reporting resource, which is not limited in the present application.

[0418] In a possible implementation, in the first association relationship, the events of the terminal device are in one-to-one association or one-to-one correspondence with the reporting indication resources, i.e., each event is associated with one reporting indication resource, and different events are associated with different reporting indication resources. The events of the terminal device are in one-to-one association with the reporting resources, i.e., each event is associated with one reporting resource, and different events are associated with different reporting resources. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 6:

[0419] Table 6

[0420] As shown in Table 6, event 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1 and uplink resource #1, event 2 is associated with SR #2 and uplink resource #2, and event 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3 and uplink resource #3.

[0421] Optionally, the communication protocol specifies that different events are associated with different reporting indication resources, associated with different reporting resources, and / or associated with different reporting periods and offsets. The terminal device does not expect different cell events to be associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource. If different events are associated with different reporting indication resources, the network device can know which event occurs by receiving the reporting indication resource where the indication information indicating the occurrence of the event is located. If different events are associated with different reporting resources, the network device can know that the measurement result is the measurement result corresponding to which event by receiving the reporting resource where the measurement result is located.

[0422] In another possible implementation, in the first association relationship, multiple events of the terminal device are associated with the same reporting indication resource, and / or associated with the same reporting resource. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 7:

[0423] Table 7

[0424] As shown in Table 7, event 1 and event 2 are both associated with reporting indication resource #1, and event 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Event 1 is associated with uplink resource 1, event 2 is associated with uplink resource 2, and event 3 is associated with uplink resource 3.

[0425] Alternatively, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 8:

[0426] Table 8

[0427] As shown in Table 8, event 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1, event 2 is associated with reporting indication resource #2, and event 3 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Event 1 and event 2 are both associated with uplink resource #1, and event 3 is associated with uplink resource #3.

[0428] In another possible implementation, in the first association relationship, one event of the terminal device is associated with multiple reporting indication resources, and / or is associated with multiple reporting resources. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 9:

[0429] Table 9

[0430] As shown in Table 9, event 1 is associated with reporting indication resource #1 and reporting indication resource #2, and event 2 is associated with reporting indication resource #3. Event 1 is associated with uplink resource #1, and event 2 is associated with uplink resource #2.

[0431] It should be noted that the reporting resources in the above Tables 6 to 9 are optional. For example, in the above Table 1, for event 1, the network device can not configure the reporting resources associated therewith.

[0432] Optionally, the second reporting indication resource in the above step 1102 is a reporting indication resource associated with at least one event. Optionally, the second reporting resource in the above step 1103 is a reporting resource associated with at least one event. It should be noted that when the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode B, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to at least one event to the network device by using the reporting resource (i.e., the second reporting resource) associated with at least one event in the first association relationship. The second reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource shown in the above mode B. The measurement result corresponding to at least one event is carried in the fourth uplink signaling in the above mode B.

[0433] Specifically, when the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through a reporting indication resource associated with the at least one event. Further, if a triggering reporting mode configured in an event triggering reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located is mode B, the terminal device sends a measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through a reporting resource associated with the at least one event. If the triggering reporting mode configured in the event triggering reporting configuration in which the reference signal resource is located is mode A, the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, and the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource.

[0434] Optionally, the second configuration information includes at least one of the following: information (for example, an index of the one or more events) of one or more events; reporting indication resource information (for example, a reporting indication resource index) associated with each event, reporting resource information (for example, a reporting resource index) associated with each event, or a reporting period and an offset of the reporting resource associated with each event. For the reporting period and the offset, refer to the foregoing related introduction.

[0435] The following introduces a possible configuration format of the second configuration, and the second configuration information is not limited to the following information elements. As shown below:

[0436] In the second configuration information, one of an EventId field and an EventType field exists. The EventId field is used to indicate the identification of an event. The EventType field is used to indicate the type of the event. A ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of a reporting indication resource associated with the event. A reportSlotConfig field is used to indicate a reporting period and an offset of a reporting resource associated with the event. A pucch-CSI-ResourceList field is used to indicate the index of the reporting resource associated with the event. Optionally, when the terminal device adopts the event triggering reporting mode B, the reportSlotConfig field and the pucch-CSI-ResourceList field are effective, are configured or are meaningful.

[0437] The configuration format only shows one event. The configuration format can be the fifth information element in the second configuration information. In actual application, the fifth information element can include indexes of multiple events, and indexes of reporting indication resources, reporting resources and reporting periods and offsets of the reporting resources associated with each event. That is, for each event, the second configuration information includes a configuration format similar to the one shown above. Each event is associated with corresponding reporting indication resources and / or reporting resources.

[0438] In another possible implementation, the second configuration information includes one or more fifth information elements, each of which includes an index of one event, and indexes of reporting indication resources, reporting resources and reporting periods and offsets of the reporting resources associated with the event. Optionally, the fifth information element further includes an index of the fifth information element. Different fifth information elements include indexes of different events, and indexes of reporting indication resources, reporting resources and reporting periods and offsets of the reporting resources associated with different events. Optionally, the one or more fifth information elements are included in a fifth information element table.

[0439] It should be noted that the association relationship between the event, the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource is shown in the second mode. In actual application, the network device can also configure the association relationship between the cell, the event, the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource for the terminal device. For example, the same event in different cells can be associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource.

[0440] III. The first association relationship includes at least one of the following: an association relationship between the reference signal type and the reporting indication resource, an association relationship between the reference signal type and the reporting resource, or an association relationship between the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource.

[0441] Optionally, different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources, or different reference signal types are associated with the same reporting indication resource.

[0442] Optionally, different reference signal types are associated with different reporting resources, or different reference signal types are associated with the same reporting resource.

[0443] Optionally, different reporting indication resources are associated with different reporting resources, or different reporting indication resources are associated with the same reporting resource.

[0444] For example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different reference signal types. In one possible implementation, when an event of at least one cell occurs and the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource triggering the event is SSB, CSI-RS or TRS, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type. Further, if the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to indicate a second uplink resource, and the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the second uplink resource.

[0445] For example, the network device configures the terminal device with reporting indication resources associated with different reference signal types, and also configures reporting resources associated with different reference signal types. When an event of at least one cell occurs and the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource triggering the event is SSB, CSI-RS or TRS, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type. Further, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event through the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. The reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type is only valid or configured when the event triggering reporting configuration of the cell or the event triggering reporting mode B is configured in the cell.

[0446] Optionally, when the event triggering reporting mode configured in the event triggering reporting configuration is mode B, when an event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration occurs and the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource triggering the event is SSB, CSI-RS or TRS, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type, and reports the measurement result corresponding to the event through the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. When the event triggering reporting mode configured in the event triggering reporting configuration is mode A, when an event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration occurs and the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource triggering the event is SSB, CSI-RS or TRS, the terminal device initiates reporting indication through the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type. Then, the terminal device receives DCI from the network device, the DCI is used to schedule a second uplink resource. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the second uplink resource.

[0447] Optionally, the first association relationship includes an association relationship between the index of the reference signal type and the reporting indication resource, and / or an association relationship between the index of the reference signal type and the reporting resource. Of course, the first association relationship can also include an association relationship between other information of the reference signal type and the reporting indication resource, and / or an association relationship between other information of the reference signal type and the reporting resource, which is not limited in the present application.

[0448] In a possible implementation, in the first association relationship, the reference signal type of the terminal device is in one-to-one association or one-to-one correspondence with the reporting indication resource, that is, each reference signal type is associated with one reporting indication resource, and different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources. The reference signal type of the terminal device is in one-to-one association with the reporting resource, that is, each reference signal type is associated with one reporting resource, and different reference signal types are associated with different reporting resources. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 10:

[0449] Table 10

[0450] As shown in Table 10, the SSB is associated with the reporting indication resource #1 and the uplink resource #1. The CSI-RS is associated with the reporting indication resource #2 and the uplink resource #2.

[0451] Optionally, the communication protocol stipulates that different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources and / or are associated with different reporting resources. The terminal device does not expect different reference signal types to be associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource. If different reference signal types are associated with different reporting indication resources, the network device can know which reference signal type corresponds to the measurement result of the reference signal resource that satisfies the occurrence condition of the event by receiving the reporting indication resource where the indication information indicating the occurrence of the event is located. If different reference signal types are associated with different reporting resources, the network device can know which reference signal type the measurement result corresponds to by receiving the reporting resource where the measurement result is located.

[0452] In another possible implementation, in the first association relationship, multiple reference signal types of the terminal device are associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource. For example, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 11:

[0453] Table 11

[0454] As shown in Table 11, the SSB and the CSI-RS are both associated with the reporting indication resource #1. The SSB is associated with the uplink resource #1, and the CSI-RS is associated with the uplink resource #2.

[0455] Alternatively, the first association relationship can be represented as shown in Table 12:

[0456] Table 12

[0457] As shown in Table 12, the SSB is associated with the reporting indication resource #1, and the CSI-RS is associated with the reporting indication resource #2. The SSB and the CSI-RS are both associated with the uplink resource #1.

[0458] It should be noted that the reporting resource in the above Table 11 to Table 12 is an optional item. For example, in the above Table 1, for SSB, the network device can not configure the associated reporting resource.

[0459] Optionally, the second reporting indication resource in the above step 1002 is a reporting indication resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. Optionally, the second reporting resource in the above step 1003 is a reporting resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource. It should be noted that when the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting mode of mode B, the first association relationship only configures the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource, i.e., the second reporting resource. The second reporting resource can be understood as the fourth uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode B. The measurement result corresponding to the at least one event is carried in the fourth uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode B.

[0460] Specifically, when the first measurement result represents occurrence of the at least one event, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource associated with the at least one event. Further, if the event triggered reporting mode configured in the event triggered reporting configuration where the reference signal resource is located is mode B, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the reporting resource associated with the at least one event. If the event triggered reporting mode configured in the event triggered reporting configuration where the reference signal resource is located is mode A, the terminal device receives the DCI from the network device, and the DCI is used to schedule the second uplink resource. The terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the at least one event to the network device through the second uplink resource.

[0461] Optionally, the second configuration information includes at least one of the following: a reference signal type, an index of the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type, an index of the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type, or a reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. For the reporting period and offset, please refer to the relevant introduction in the foregoing.

[0462] The following introduces a possible configuration format of the second configuration, and the second configuration information is not limited to the following information elements. As shown below:

[0463] In the second configuration information, the RSType field is used to indicate the reference signal type. The ReportIndicationResourceID-EventTrigger field is used to indicate the index of the reporting indication resource associated with the reference signal type. The reportSlotConfig field is used to indicate the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. The pucch-CSI-ResourceList field is used to indicate the index of the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. Optionally, when the terminal device uses the mode B event triggered reporting mode, the reportSlotConfig field and the pucch-CSI-ResourceList field are effective, configured or meaningful.

[0464] The above configuration format only indicates a reference signal type. The above configuration format can be the sixth information element in the second configuration information. In actual application, the sixth information element can include the index of multiple reference signal types and the index of the reporting indication resource, the index of the reporting resource and the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with each reference signal type. That is, for each reference signal type, the second configuration information includes the configuration format shown above. Each reference signal type is associated with a corresponding reporting indication resource and / or reporting resource.

[0465] In another possible implementation, the second configuration information includes one or more sixth information elements, each of which includes a reference signal type and the index of the reporting indication resource, the index of the reporting resource and the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with the reference signal type. Optionally, the sixth information element further includes the index of the sixth information element. Different sixth information elements include different reference signal types and the index of the reporting indication resource, the index of the reporting resource and the reporting period and offset of the reporting resource associated with different reference signal types. Optionally, the one or more sixth information elements are included in the sixth information element table.

[0466] It should be noted that the association among the reference signal type, the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource is shown in mode three. In actual application, the network device can also configure the association among the cell, the reference signal type, the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource for the terminal device. For example, the same reference signal type of different cells is associated with the same reporting indication resource and / or the same reporting resource.

[0467] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 further includes step 1101b. Step 1101b can be performed before step 1101.

[0468] 1101b. The terminal device sends the capability information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the capability information from the terminal device.

[0469] Step 1101b is similar to step 1001b in the foregoing embodiment shown in FIG. 10, and details can be referred to the related description of step 1001b in the foregoing embodiment shown in FIG. 10, which will not be repeated here.

[0470] It should be noted that there is no fixed execution order between step 1101a and step 1101b. Step 1101a can be executed first, and then step 1101b is executed. Alternatively, step 1101b is executed first, and then step 1101a is executed. Alternatively, step 1101a and step 1101b are executed at the same time according to the situation, which is not limited in the present application.

[0471] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 further includes step 1101c. Step 1101c can be executed before step 1101.

[0472] 1101c, the network device sends third configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the third configuration information from the network device.

[0473] Step 1101c is similar to step 1001c in the foregoing embodiment shown in FIG. 10, and details can be referred to the related description of step 1001c in the foregoing embodiment shown in FIG. 10, which will not be repeated here.

[0474] It should be noted that if the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 includes step 1101a, there is no fixed execution order between step 1101a and step 1101c. Step 1101a can be executed first, and then step 1101c is executed. Alternatively, step 1101c is executed first, and then step 1101a is executed. Alternatively, step 1101a and step 1101c are executed at the same time according to the situation.

[0475] It should be noted that if the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 includes step 1101b, there is no fixed execution order between step 1101b and step 1101c. Step 1101b can be executed first, and then step 1101c is executed. Alternatively, step 1101c is executed first, and then step 1101b is executed. Alternatively, step 1101b and step 1101c are executed at the same time according to the situation.

[0476] It should be noted that if the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 includes step 1101a and step 1101b, there is no fixed execution order between step 1101a, step 1101b and step 1101c. For example, step 1101a can be executed first, then step 1101b is executed, and finally step 1101c is executed.

[0477] In the embodiments of the present application, the terminal device measures the reference signal resource to obtain a first measurement result. Then, when the first measurement result represents occurrence of at least one event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through a second reporting indication resource, wherein the second reporting indication resource is determined according to a first association relationship; the first association relationship includes an association relationship between a cell of the terminal device and the reporting indication resource, the second reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with the first cell, the first cell is a cell to which the reference signal resource belongs, or a cell to which an event triggered reporting configuration of the reference signal resource belongs; or, the first association relationship includes an association relationship between an event of the terminal device and the reporting indication resource, the second reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with at least one event; or, the first association relationship includes an association relationship between a reference signal type of the terminal device and the reporting indication resource, the second reporting indication resource is a reporting indication resource associated with a reference signal type corresponding to the reference signal resource; the first indication information is used to indicate occurrence of the at least one event. Thus, the terminal device indicates occurrence of the at least one event to the network device. The first reporting indication resource is determined according to the first association relationship, which is beneficial to the terminal device to quickly determine the first reporting indication resource and send the first indication information to the network device through the first reporting indication resource. This is beneficial to improve reporting efficiency.

[0478] The present application also provides another embodiment, which includes step A.

[0479] Step A: the network device sends fourth configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the fourth configuration information from the network device.

[0480] Two possible implementation manners of the fourth configuration information are introduced below.

[0481] Implementation manner one: the fourth configuration information is used to indicate a third reporting indication resource. The third reporting indication resource is used to send information indicating occurrence of an event, or in other words, the third reporting indication resource is used to send second indication information, the second indication information is used to indicate occurrence of at least one event. Or, the second indication information is used to indicate that the network device needs to report measurement results triggered by an event. Or, the second indication information is used to indicate that the third reporting indication resource is associated with reporting measurement results triggered by an event on a third reporting resource. In this implementation manner, the network device configures one reporting indication resource for the terminal device, i.e., the third reporting indication resource. No association relationship needs to be configured.

[0482] It should be noted that the third reporting indication resource can be the first uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode A. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of mode A. The second indication information is carried in the first uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode A. Alternatively, the third reporting indication resource can be the third uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode B. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of mode B. The second indication information is carried in the third uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode B.

[0483] In a second implementation manner, the fourth configuration information is used for indicating a plurality of fourth reporting indication resources. The plurality of fourth reporting indication resources correspond to a plurality of cells, a plurality of events or a plurality of reference signal types of the terminal device in a one-to-one manner. For example, the plurality of fourth reporting indication resources correspond to the plurality of cells in a one-to-one manner in ascending order or descending order of indexes of the fourth reporting indication resources. The plurality of cells are sorted in ascending order of indexes of the cells. Alternatively, the plurality of cells are sorted in descending order of indexes of the cells. For another example, the plurality of fourth reporting indication resources correspond to the plurality of events in a one-to-one manner in ascending order or descending order of indexes of the fourth reporting indication resources. The plurality of events are sorted in ascending order of indexes of the events, or the plurality of events are sorted in descending order of indexes of the events. For another example, the plurality of fourth reporting indication resources correspond to the plurality of reference signal types in a one-to-one manner in ascending order or descending order of indexes of the fourth reporting indication resources. The plurality of reference signal types are sorted in ascending order of indexes of the reference signal types, or the plurality of reference signal types are sorted in descending order of indexes of the reference signal types. The fourth reporting indication resource is used for sending information indicating occurrence of an event, or the fourth reporting indication resource is used for sending third indication information, the third indication information being used for indicating occurrence of at least one event. Alternatively, the third indication information is used for indicating to the network device that measurement results triggered by the event need to be reported. Alternatively, the third indication information is used for indicating that the fourth reporting indication resource is associated with a fourth reporting resource for reporting measurement results triggered by the event. It should be noted that the fourth reporting indication resource can be the first uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode A. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of mode A. The third indication information is carried in the first uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode A. Alternatively, the fourth reporting indication resource can be the third uplink resource shown in the aforementioned mode B. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event triggered reporting manner of mode B. The third indication information is carried in the third uplink signaling in the aforementioned mode B.

[0484] For the implementation manner one in the step A, the embodiment further includes a step B, which can be executed after the step A.

[0485] Step B: When the first condition is met, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a third reporting indication resource. The reporting indication is used to indicate that an event occurs. Correspondingly, the network device receives the reporting indication from the terminal device. The reporting indication can be the second indication information described above.

[0486] The first condition includes at least one of the following:

[0487] An event of any cell of the terminal device occurs, or an event of any cell associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device occurs, or at least one event of at least one cell of the terminal device occurs;

[0488] Any event of the terminal device occurs, or at least one event of the terminal device occurs;

[0489] A measurement result of a reference signal resource for monitoring an event of any reference signal type of the terminal device meets an occurrence condition of the event, or a measurement result of a reference signal resource for monitoring an event of the terminal device meets an occurrence condition of the event;

[0490] Any event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device occurs, or at least one event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device occurs;

[0491] Any cell event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device occurs, or at least one event of at least one cell associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device occurs; or

[0492] A measurement result of a reference signal resource of any reference signal type associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device meets an occurrence condition of the event, or a measurement result of a reference signal resource for monitoring an event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the terminal device meets an occurrence condition of the event.

[0493] For the second implementation manner in step A, the embodiment can further include step C, which can be executed after step A.

[0494] Step C: The terminal device performs at least one of the following operations:

[0495] When an event occurs in a second cell of the terminal device, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the second cell;

[0496] When an event associated with the event triggering reporting configuration of the second cell of the terminal device occurs, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the second cell;

[0497] When a first event of the terminal device occurs, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the first event.

[0498] When a measurement result of a reference signal resource for monitoring an event belonging to a first reference signal type meets an occurrence condition of the event, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the first reference signal type; for example, the first reference signal type is SSB or CSI-RS.

[0499] When a second event associated with the reporting configuration occurs triggered by any event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the second event.

[0500] When a third cell associated with the reporting configuration occurs triggered by any event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the third cell; or,

[0501] When a measurement result of a reference signal resource belonging to a second reference signal type associated with the reporting configuration meets an occurrence condition of the event triggered by any event of the terminal device, the terminal device sends a reporting indication to the network device through a fourth reporting indication resource corresponding to the second reference signal type.

[0502] Optionally, the embodiment further includes step D. Step D can be performed after step A.

[0503] Step D: The network device sends fifth configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the fifth configuration information from the network device.

[0504] Two possible implementation manners of the fifth configuration information are introduced below.

[0505] Implementation manner one: The fifth configuration information is used to indicate a third reporting resource. The third reporting resource is used to send a measurement result corresponding to an event. In this implementation manner, the network device configures one reporting resource, i.e., the third reporting resource, for the terminal device. No association relationship needs to be configured. It should be noted that the third reporting resource can be the fourth uplink resource shown in the mode B described above. In this implementation manner, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting manner of the mode B. The measurement result corresponding to the event is carried in the fourth uplink signaling in the mode B.

[0506] Implementation Method Two: The fifth configuration information is used to indicate multiple fourth reporting resources. These multiple fourth reporting resources correspond one-to-one with multiple cells, events, or reference signal types of the terminal device. For example, multiple fourth reporting resources correspond one-to-one with multiple cells in ascending or descending order of their indexes. These cells are ordered in ascending order of their cell indices, or in descending order of their cell indices. Another example: multiple fourth reporting resources correspond one-to-one with multiple events in ascending or descending order of their indexes. These events are ordered in ascending or descending order of their event indices. Yet another example: multiple fourth reporting resources correspond one-to-one with multiple reference signal types in ascending or descending order of their indexes. These reference signal types are ordered in ascending or descending order of their reference signal type indices, or in descending order of their reference signal type indices. It should be noted that the fourth reporting resource can be the fourth uplink resource shown in Mode B above. In this implementation, the terminal device adopts the event-triggered reporting method of Mode B. The measurement result corresponding to the event is carried in the fourth uplink signaling in Mode B above.

[0507] Optionally, step D can be performed after step B, or step D can be performed after step C.

[0508] Optionally, for implementation method one in step D above, this embodiment also includes step E. Step E can be executed after step D.

[0509] Step E: When the second condition is met, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the third reporting resource. Correspondingly, the network device receives the measurement result corresponding to the event from the terminal device.

[0510] The second condition includes at least one of the following:

[0511] If any event triggering reporting method is set to Mode B, an event has occurred in any cell associated with the event triggering reporting configuration.

[0512] Any event that triggers a reporting method in mode B is associated with the occurrence of any event.

[0513] If the measurement result of any reference signal resource of any reference signal type associated with the event triggering reporting configuration in mode B meets the event occurrence conditions;

[0514] Any event triggered by the reporting method in mode B is configured to trigger an event that has occurred; or,

[0515] The terminal device is configured with event triggered reporting in mode B, and at least one event occurs.

[0516] For the second implementation manner in step D, the embodiment can further include step F, which can be performed after step D.

[0517] Step F: The terminal device performs at least one of the following operations:

[0518] When an event occurs in the second cell associated with the event triggered reporting in mode B of any event triggered reporting manner, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the fourth reporting resource associated with the second cell.

[0519] When an event occurs in the second cell associated with the event triggered reporting in mode B of any event triggered reporting manner, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the fourth reporting resource corresponding to the second cell.

[0520] When the first event associated with the event triggered reporting in mode B of any event triggered reporting manner occurs, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the fourth reporting resource corresponding to the first event; or

[0521] When the measurement result of the reference signal resource of the first reference signal type associated with the event triggered reporting in mode B of any event triggered reporting manner satisfies the occurrence condition of the event, the terminal device sends the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device through the fourth reporting resource corresponding to the first reference signal type.
