Abstract

The present invention pertains to a heterogeneous mixture separation process and to use thereof for the detection of gastrointestinal parasites in humans and animals. The process proposed herein, in an unprecedented manner, comprises steps for preparing faecal material, saturating water with dissolved air, employing surfactants and chemical polymers with positive and negative ionic forces, separating the processed faecal material by means of dissolved air flotation, and using the material of interest for microscopic examination.
