Abstract
Description
Server device, terminal, server device control method and storage medium
[0001] The present invention relates to a server device, a terminal, a method for controlling a server device, and a storage medium.
[0002] There is technology for sending and receiving packages.
[0003] For example, Patent Literature 1 describes a method for shortening the time required per user at a baggage delivery service baggage claim counter without increasing labor costs. When a server in Patent Literature 1 accepts a hotel reservation based on accommodation information entered into a hotel reservation screen on a user terminal, it transmits a reservation reception screen for the baggage delivery service to the user terminal. When the server accepts a reservation for the baggage delivery service based on the transportation hub information entered into the reservation reception screen for the baggage delivery service, it issues a unique reception number and transmits a reservation confirmation screen including this reception number to the user terminal. The server stores reservation reception information for the baggage delivery service based on the accommodation information and the transportation hub information entered into the reservation reception screen. The server stores, as reservation reception information for the baggage delivery service, user information, an identification code for the baggage claim counter where the baggage is to be dropped off, and an identification code for the baggage claim counter where the baggage is to be picked up, for each reception number.

[0015] First, an overview of one embodiment will be described. Note that the reference numerals in the drawings are added to each element for convenience as an example to facilitate understanding, and the description of this overview is not intended to be limiting in any way. Furthermore, unless otherwise specified, the blocks shown in each drawing represent functional units, not hardware units. Connection lines between blocks in each drawing include both bidirectional and unidirectional lines. Unidirectional arrows are used to schematically indicate the flow of the main signal (data) and do not exclude bidirectionality. Note that in this specification and drawings, elements that can be similarly described may be assigned the same reference numerals to avoid redundant explanation.
[0016] A server device 100 according to one embodiment includes a request unit 101, a generation unit 102, and a provision unit 103 (see FIG. 1 ). In response to a request from a user, the request unit 101 requests a hotel server of a hotel reserved by the user to execute the user's check-in procedure (step S1 in FIG. 2 ). When the hotel server successfully completes the check-in procedure, the generation unit 102 generates first presentation information to be presented to a delivery company delivering the user's luggage to the hotel, and second presentation information to be presented to the hotel reserved by the user (step S2). The provision unit 103 provides the generated first presentation information and second presentation information to the user (step S3).
[0017] The server device 100 generates first presented information that the user presents to the delivery company and second presented information that the user presents to the hotel, and provides the generated information to the user. The user visits the delivery company with their luggage and presents the first presented information to the delivery company. The delivery company uses the presented information to create a shipping slip for transporting the luggage to the hotel. Furthermore, when the user arrives at the hotel where they are staying, they present the second presented information to the hotel. Since the user's check-in procedure has already been completed, the hotel hands over the user's luggage and room key. In this way, by utilizing the information provided by the server device 100, the user does not need to handwrite their name, nationality, etc. on a shipping slip or a hotel guest register, thereby improving convenience for the user.
[0018] Specific embodiments will be described in more detail below with reference to the drawings.
[0019] First Embodiment The first embodiment will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.
[0020] [System Configuration] Fig. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of a schematic configuration of an information processing system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 3, the information processing system includes at least one accommodation provider and one delivery provider.
[0021] The information processing system according to the first embodiment provides a service (luggage delivery service) for delivering luggage of passengers (for example, inbound passengers from abroad) to their hotels.
[0022] Furthermore, users can complete hotel check-in at the airport where they arrive. Users can also complete hotel check-in procedures at a location separate from the hotel. In the following explanation, check-in procedures performed at a location separate from the hotel will be referred to as "remote check-in."
[0023] By completing remote check-in, users will no longer need to enter their name or present identification at the hotel front desk. Once remote check-in is complete, users (those who have made a reservation) will receive their room key at the front desk and enter their assigned room. Once remote check-in is complete, users can smoothly enter their hotel room without having to go through complicated procedures.
[0024] Each accommodation provider (hotel) is equipped with a hotel server 10 and a hotel terminal 20 .
[0025] The hotel server 10 is a server that performs the main business of the hotel. Specifically, the hotel server 10 controls and manages information related to reservation holders and guests. For example, the hotel server 10 stores information about reservation holders (e.g., name, gender, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, etc.) and reservation information (e.g., length of stay, room type, etc.). The hotel server 10 uses the reservation information, etc. to execute check-in procedures for reservation holders and check-out procedures for guests.
[0026] The hotel server 10 may be installed in each hotel, or may be installed on a network (on the cloud).
[0027] The hotel terminal 20 is a terminal installed at the front desk of a hotel, etc. A hotel staff member standing by at the front desk operates the hotel terminal 20. The hotel terminal 20 and the hotel server 10 are connected to each other.
[0028] The delivery company has business partnerships with each accommodation provider. The delivery company sets up reception counters inside and outside the airport to accept luggage from users (passengers). The delivery company sets up a delivery terminal 30 at the reception counter. The delivery terminal 30 is a terminal (device, apparatus) used when the user's luggage is delivered to the hotel where the user is staying.
[0029] The server device 40 is a server for realizing a luggage delivery service and remote check-in. The server device 40 is managed and operated by an association or the like whose members are multiple accommodation providers. Alternatively, the server device 40 may be managed and operated by a private business or the like that is commissioned by the accommodation providers or the like. The server device 40 may be installed in a building of the association, or may be installed on a network (on the cloud).
[0030] The user has a terminal 50 such as a smartphone.
[0031] The devices shown in FIG. 3 (hotel server 10, delivery terminal 30, server device 40, etc.) are connected by wired or wireless communication means and are configured to be able to communicate with each other.
[0032] The configuration of the information processing system shown in Figure 3 is an example and is not intended to be limiting. For example, the information processing system may include multiple server devices 40. The multiple server devices 40 may achieve load balancing and redundancy. Similarly, each accommodation provider may be equipped with multiple hotel servers 10 and hotel terminals 20.
[0033] Although Figure 3 illustrates three accommodation providers (Hotel A, Hotel B, and Hotel C), this is not intended to limit the number of accommodation providers included in the system. The information processing system only needs to include at least one accommodation provider. Note that Figure 3 does not illustrate the hotel servers 10 and hotel terminals 20 provided at Hotel B and Hotel C.
[0034] [Overall Operation] Next, an overall operation of the information processing system according to the first embodiment will be described.
[0035] <Creating an Account> A user who wishes to use the luggage delivery service and remote check-in service accesses the server device 40 and creates an account. The user operates the terminal 50 to access a user registration page or the like provided by the server device 40.
[0036] The server device 40 acquires the user's name, gender, date of birth, address, login information (ID, password), and contact information (telephone number, email address, etc.) on the user registration page.
[0037] The server device 40 associates the acquired name and other information and stores them in the user management database. The user management database will be described in detail later.
[0038] <Installing the application> The user installs a dedicated application for enjoying the baggage delivery service and remote check-in service on the terminal 50. The user obtains the dedicated application by any means and installs it on the terminal 50. In the following explanation, unless otherwise specified, the application refers to a dedicated application for the baggage delivery service, etc.
[0039] <Storage of Identification Card Information> A user who has installed an application stores information related to their identification card in the terminal 50. For example, the terminal 50 acquires and stores information related to a passport, a driver's license, a My Number card, etc. In the first embodiment, a case will be described in which passport information related to a passport is acquired as identification card information.
[0040] In response to an operation by a user, the terminal 50 acquires passport information relating to a passport held by the user.
[0041] For example, the terminal 50 acquires the name, gender, date of birth, address, nationality, passport number, biometric information (facial image), etc. written on the passport. For example, the terminal 50 may acquire the passport information from image data obtained by photographing the passport, or from an IC (Integrated Circuit) chip mounted on the passport. Alternatively, the terminal 50 may acquire the passport information from an electronic passport (digital passport) issued by a public institution such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and may store the digital passport as the passport information.
[0042] Examples of biometric information include data (features) calculated from physical characteristics unique to an individual, such as a face, fingerprint, voiceprint, veins, retina, or iris pattern. Alternatively, the biometric information may be image data such as a face image or fingerprint image. The biometric information may be any information that includes the user's physical characteristics. In the embodiment disclosed herein, a case where biometric information related to a person's "face" (a face image or features generated from a face image) is used will be described.
[0043] The terminal 50 stores the acquired passport information (identification card information) therein.
[0044] <Hotel Reservation> A user (e.g., an inbound tourist) makes a hotel reservation before departing the country. The user operates the terminal 50 and starts an application. The user accesses the hotel server 10 of the hotel where the user wishes to make a reservation via the application. More specifically, the terminal 50 accesses a room reservation site provided by the hotel server 10.
[0045] The user makes a reservation for a room on the room reservation site. At that time, the user enters their name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, etc.
[0046] Once the hotel server 10 has completed a room reservation for a user, it associates the reservation information with the reservation person's information (e.g., name, gender, date of birth, address, email address, etc.) and stores the reservation information in the reservation person management database. The reservation information includes a reservation number that identifies the reservation, the length of stay (scheduled check-in date, scheduled check-out date), the room type, etc. The reservation person management database will be described in detail later.
[0047] <Remote Check-in> A user boards an aircraft and arrives at the arrival airport. Upon arriving at the airport, the user completes the procedures for using the baggage delivery service and the procedures for remote check-in. Note that the term "remote check-in" in this disclosure is the antonym of "check-in," which is performed at the reception desk or the like of an accommodation facility after the user arrives at the accommodation facility. In other words, "remote check-in" includes the act of a user completing the check-in procedure at a different location before arriving at the accommodation facility, the act of completing part of the check-in procedure in advance, and a series of actions associated with the check-in procedure, such as locking and unlocking the guest room door using a guest-owned mobile device.
[0048] First, the terminal 50 performs identity verification of the user. The user launches an application. The application (terminal 50) acquires the user's biometric information in response to a predetermined action by the user (e.g., pressing a "remote check-in" button). For example, the terminal 50 acquires a facial image of the user by taking a selfie.
[0049] The terminal 50 performs identity verification using a facial image included in the passport information acquired in advance and a facial image obtained by taking a selfie. If identity verification is successful, the user can enjoy delivery services and remote check-in services.
[0050] If the identity verification is successful, the terminal 50 transmits the previously acquired identification information (passport information) to the server device 40. Specifically, the terminal 50 transmits a "check-in request" including the passport information to the server device 40 (see FIG. 4).
[0051] Upon receiving the check-in request, the server device 40 requests each accommodation provider (hotel server 10) to perform remote check-in. Specifically, the server device 40 transfers the check-in request received from the terminal 50 to each hotel server 10 included in the information processing system.
[0052] Each hotel server 10 that receives a check-in request searches the reservation management database using information identifying the guest who made the reservation obtained from the passport information (for example, name or a combination of name and date of birth). The hotel server 10 searches the reservation management database using the name or other information as a key, and identifies the user who wishes to check in remotely from among the multiple guests who have made the reservation.
[0053] The hotel server 10 allocates a room to the identified user (guest) and stores the room number of the allocated room in the guest reservation management database. The hotel server 10 also stores identification information (passport information).
[0054] The hotel server 10 completes the check-in (remote check-in) of the user by allocating a room to the user and storing the passport information in the guest reservation management database.
[0055] When the remote check-in is complete, the hotel server 10 notifies the server device 40 of the room number, reservation number, and hotel information assigned to the user. Specifically, the hotel server 10 sends an affirmative response indicating successful check-in to the server device 40. At that time, the hotel server 10 sends an affirmative response including the room number, reservation number, and hotel information to the server device 40.
[0056] The hotel information includes the name, address, telephone number, and URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the hotel where the remote check-in was completed.
[0057] If the hotel server 10 fails to search the reservation management database using the name, etc., it sends a negative response indicating that the remote check-in has failed (remote check-in not yet performed) to the server device 40. The hotel server 10 then discards the passport information received from the server device 40.
[0058] 4, if the user has made a reservation for accommodation at Hotel A, the hotel server 10 of Hotel A will send a positive response including the user's reservation number, the assigned room number, and hotel information to the server device 40. The hotel servers 10 of Hotels B and C will send negative responses to the server device 40.
[0059] Upon receiving a response (positive or negative response) to the check-in request, the server device 40 generates information necessary for the user to request the delivery company to deliver the luggage and information necessary for the user to receive the luggage and room key. That is, the server device 40 generates first presentation information to be presented to the delivery company that delivers the user's luggage to the hotel, and second presentation information to be presented to the hotel where the user has made a reservation.
[0060] Specifically, the server device 40 generates "information presented at the time of request" to be presented to a delivery company (such as a staff member waiting at an airport reception counter) when the user requests delivery of luggage from the delivery company. Furthermore, the server device 40 generates "information presented at the time of receipt" to be presented to the hotel (such as a hotel staff member) when the user receives the luggage and room key at the hotel.
[0061] First, the server device 40 generates a parcel ID for identifying each parcel for each user. For example, the server device 40 generates a parcel ID such as "A001" or "B015."
[0062] The server device 40 then generates information to be presented at the time of request, including hotel information of the hotel where the remote check-in was performed and the generated baggage ID. More specifically, the server device 40 converts the hotel information and the baggage ID into a two-dimensional barcode.
[0063] Furthermore, the server device 40 generates information to be presented at the time of receipt, including the room number, baggage ID, and user identification information received from the hotel server 10 of the hotel where the remote check-in was performed. More specifically, the server device 40 converts the room number, baggage ID, and user identification information into a two-dimensional barcode.
[0064] The user identification information is information that identifies the user (person who made the reservation) who has completed remote check-in. For example, the reservation number received from the hotel server 10 is an example of the user identification information. Alternatively, the user identification information may be a name or a combination of a name and a date of birth. In the first embodiment, a case where the reservation number is used as the user identification information will be described.
[0065] In the following description, the two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the information presented at the time of request will be referred to as the "two-dimensional code at the time of request," and the two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the information presented at the time of receipt will be referred to as the "two-dimensional code at the time of receipt."
[0066] In the above example, the server device 40 generates a two-dimensional code at the time of request (information presented at the time of request) into which the hotel information and baggage ID of Hotel A have been converted, and a two-dimensional code at the time of receipt (information presented at the time of receipt) into which the room number, baggage ID, and reservation number have been converted.
[0067] After generating the two pieces of presentation information (request presentation information and receipt presentation information), the server device 40 provides the generated two pieces of presentation information to the user. Specifically, the server device 40 transmits the generated two 2D barcodes to the terminal 50.
[0068] Specifically, the server device 40 transmits an affirmative response including the two two-dimensional barcodes to the terminal 50 as a response to the check-in response received from the terminal 50 .
[0069] Upon receiving the positive response, the terminal 50 stores the two received two-dimensional barcodes (the two-dimensional code at the time of request and the two-dimensional code at the time of receipt), and notifies the user that the remote check-in has been completed and that the delivery service is available.
[0070] If the server device 40 does not receive a positive response from any of the hotel servers 10 (if the remote check-in is not successful), it sends a negative response as a response to the check-in request received from the terminal 50.
[0071] <Using the Delivery Service> After completing remote check-in, the user visits the reception counter with their luggage (see Figure 5). Upon arriving at the reception counter, the user launches the application and performs a predetermined operation (for example, pressing the "Delivery Service" button).
[0072] The terminal 50 provides the delivery company with the requested information in response to the user's operation. Specifically, the terminal 50 displays the requested two-dimensional code. The user presents the terminal 50, on which the requested two-dimensional code is displayed, to a staff member or the like waiting at the reception counter.
[0073] The staff operates the delivery terminal 30 to read the two-dimensional code at the time of request displayed on the terminal 50. The delivery terminal 30 creates a delivery slip for the package using the hotel information and package ID obtained from the two-dimensional code at the time of request. The delivery terminal 30 prints out the created delivery slip.
[0074] Specifically, the delivery terminal 30 prints a delivery slip on which the hotel name, address, telephone number, package ID, etc. are written (see FIG. 6).
[0075] The reception staff or other staff member will attach the printed delivery slip to the luggage, and the luggage will be delivered to the hotel where the user is staying by a delivery company.
[0076] <Arrival at Hotel> After completing sightseeing etc., the user (who has completed remote check-in) arrives at the hotel (see FIG. 7). The user goes through the procedure to enter the guest room at the front desk. Specifically, the user starts the application and performs a predetermined operation (for example, pressing the "Arrived at Hotel" button).
[0077] In response to the user's operation, the terminal 50 provides the hotel with the information to be presented at the time of receipt. Specifically, the terminal 50 displays a two-dimensional code at the time of receipt. The user presents the terminal 50, on which the two-dimensional code is displayed, to a staff member or the like waiting at the front desk.
[0078] The staff operates hotel terminal 20 to read the two-dimensional code displayed on terminal 50. Hotel terminal 20 notifies the staff, etc. of the guest room number and baggage ID obtained from the two-dimensional code. For example, hotel terminal 20 displays the guest room number and baggage ID on the display (see FIG. 8).
[0079] The hotel staff will hand over to the guest a key corresponding to the room number shown on the display, and will also hand over to the guest a package with a shipping slip attached that has the same package ID as the package ID shown on the display.
[0080] The hotel terminal 20 transmits the user identification information (reservation number) included in the two-dimensional code at the time of receipt to the hotel server 10 before or after displaying the room number and baggage ID. The hotel server 10 searches the hotel reservation management database using the acquired reservation number as a key to identify the user (the user who has completed remote check-in). The hotel server 10 updates the status of the identified user to "checked in."
[0081] The user (guest) enters the guest room carrying their luggage.
[0082] Next, details of each device included in the information processing system according to the first embodiment will be described.
[0083] 9 is a diagram illustrating an example of a processing configuration (processing module) of a terminal 50 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 9, the terminal 50 includes a communication control unit 201, a user registration unit 202, an identification card information acquisition unit 203, a hotel reservation unit 204, a personal identification unit 205, a remote check-in control unit 206, a presentation information control unit 207, and a storage unit 208.
[0084] The communication control unit 201 is a means for controlling communication with other devices. For example, the communication control unit 201 receives data (packets) from the server device 40. The communication control unit 201 also transmits data to the server device 40. The communication control unit 201 passes data received from other devices to other processing modules. The communication control unit 201 transmits data acquired from other processing modules to other devices. In this way, other processing modules transmit and receive data to and from other devices via the communication control unit 201. The communication control unit 201 has a function as a receiving unit that receives data from other devices and a function as a transmitting unit that transmits data to other devices.
[0085] The identification information acquisition unit 203, hotel reservation unit 204, personal identification unit 205, remote check-in control unit 206, and presentation information control unit 207 implement applications installed on the terminal 50. A detailed description of application installation will be omitted, as application installation is obvious to those skilled in the art and is not within the scope of the present disclosure.
[0086] The user registration unit 202 is a means for registering a user in the server device 40. The user registration unit 202 accesses the server device 40 in response to a user's operation. The user registration unit 202 transmits the user's name, gender, date of birth, address, login information (ID, password), and contact information (telephone number, email address, etc.) to the server device 40 in response to the user's operation.
[0087] The identification information acquisition unit 203 is a means for acquiring identification information from an identification card (e.g., a passport) held by a user. For example, the identification information acquisition unit 203 acquires passport information from a passport held by a user using a GUI (Graphical User Interface) or the like.
[0088] For example, the identification card information acquisition unit 203 instructs the user to photograph the face of the passport. The identification card information acquisition unit 203 extracts a facial area from image data obtained by photographing the face of the passport and acquires a facial image (passport face image). The identification card information acquisition unit 203 also acquires the name and other information written on the face of the passport using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology.
[0089] Alternatively, the identification information acquisition unit 203 may read passport information from an IC (Integrated Circuit) chip mounted on the passport. When reading information from the IC chip, the identification information acquisition unit 203 reads MRZ information written in a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) printed on the face of the passport. The MRZ information includes name, gender, date of birth, nationality, etc. The identification information acquisition unit 203 uses the acquired MRZ information as a password to read passport information such as a facial image and name from the IC chip.
[0090] The identification card information acquisition unit 203 stores the acquired passport information in the storage unit 208 .
[0091] The hotel reservation unit 204 is a means for controlling hotel reservations. In response to a user's operation, the hotel reservation unit 204 accesses a room reservation site of the hotel where the user wishes to make a reservation. Specifically, the hotel reservation unit 204 accesses the room reservation site provided by the hotel server 10.
[0092] In response to the user's operation, the hotel reservation unit 204 transmits the user's name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, etc. to the hotel server 10. Furthermore, the hotel reservation unit 204 makes a room reservation by inputting information such as the length of stay (scheduled check-in date, scheduled check-out date), room type, etc. into the hotel server 10 in accordance with the user's operation.
[0093] The identity verification unit 205 is a means for verifying the identity of a user who wishes to receive the luggage delivery service and the remote check-in service. The identity verification unit 205 acquires biometric information of the user by photographing the user, and performs identity verification using the biometric information obtained from the passport and the biometric information obtained by photographing the user.
[0094] Specifically, the identity verification unit 205 acquires biometric information (face image) of the user in response to a predetermined action by the user (e.g., pressing a "remote check-in" button). For example, the identity verification unit 205 acquires the face image of the user by taking a so-called selfie.
[0095] When acquiring the photographed face image, the identity verification unit 205 may utilize a technique for acquiring a face image suitable for biometric authentication. For example, the identity verification unit 205 may use a frontal face photographing technique for acquiring a frontal face image or a liveness photographing technique for preventing fraud using photographs, etc.
[0096] When the user is instructed to take a selfie and a facial image of the user (photographed facial image) is obtained, the identity verification unit 205 performs identity verification using the facial image obtained by photographing the user (photographed facial image) and the facial image read from the passport (passport facial image).
[0097] The personal identification unit 205 performs one-to-one authentication using two facial images. The personal identification unit 205 determines whether the two facial images substantially match and performs personal identification.
[0098] The personal identification unit 205 generates feature amounts from each of the photographed face image and the passport face image.
[0099] Since existing technology can be used for the process of generating feature amounts, detailed description thereof will be omitted. For example, the personal identification unit 205 extracts the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. from the face image as feature points. Then, the personal identification unit 205 calculates the positions of each feature point and the distances between each feature point as feature amounts (generating a feature vector consisting of multiple feature amounts).
[0100] Next, the identity verification unit 205 performs a matching process (one-to-one matching) using the two generated feature amounts. Specifically, the identity verification unit 205 calculates the similarity between corresponding face images using the two feature amounts. Based on the result of threshold processing on the calculated similarity, the identity verification unit 205 determines whether the two images are face images of the same person. Note that the similarity can be calculated using a chi-squared distance, Euclidean distance, or the like. The greater the distance, the lower the similarity, and the closer the distance, the higher the similarity.
[0101] If the similarity is greater than a predetermined value (if the distance is shorter than a predetermined value), the identity verification unit 205 determines that identity verification is successful. If the similarity is equal to or less than the predetermined value, the identity verification unit 205 determines that identity verification is unsuccessful.
[0102] If the identity verification is successful, the identity verification unit 205 notifies the remote check-in control unit 206 of this fact.
[0103] The remote check-in control unit 206 is a means for executing control relating to remote check-in.
[0104] The remote check-in control unit 206 has a function as a requesting unit and a function as an acquiring unit.
[0105] The remote check-in control unit 206, which functions as a requesting unit, requests the server device 40 to check in at the hotel where the user has made a reservation. The remote check-in control unit 206, which functions as an acquiring unit, acquires from the server device 40 first presented information to be presented to the delivery company that delivers the user's luggage to the hotel, and second presented information to be presented to the hotel where the user has made a reservation.
[0106] If the identity verification is successful, the remote check-in control unit 206 sends a check-in request including the passport information (identification information) stored in the storage unit 208 to the server device 40 .
[0107] The remote check-in control unit 206 receives a response (positive response, negative response) to the check-in request from the server device 40 .
[0108] If a positive response (remote check-in successful) is received, the remote check-in control unit 206 notifies the user that remote check-in is complete and that the baggage delivery service is available. The remote check-in control unit 206 also stores the two 2D barcodes (a request 2D code and a receipt 2D code) included in the positive response in the storage unit 208.
[0109] If a negative response (remote check-in failed) is received, the remote check-in control unit 206 notifies the user that remote check-in failed. Alternatively, the remote check-in control unit 206 may suggest that the user contact the hotel where the user is staying.
[0110] The presentation information control unit 207 is a means for executing control related to the presentation information at the time of request and the presentation information at the time of receipt. The presentation information control unit 207 displays first presentation information (request presentation information; request two-dimensional code) in response to a first operation by the user, and displays second presentation information (receive presentation information; receipt two-dimensional code) in response to a second operation by the user.
[0111] When the user performs a predetermined action (for example, pressing the "Delivery Service" button), the presentation information control unit 207 displays the requested presentation information (requested two-dimensional code) stored in the storage unit 208 on the display.
[0112] When the user performs a predetermined action (for example, pressing the "Arrived at hotel" button), the presentation information control unit 207 displays the presentation information at the time of receipt (two-dimensional code at the time of receipt) stored in the memory unit 208 on the display.
[0113] The storage unit 208 is a means for storing information necessary for the operation of the terminal 50 .
[0114] 10 is a diagram showing an example of a processing configuration (processing module) of the hotel server 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 10, the hotel server 10 includes a communication control unit 301, a reservation management unit 302, a check-in control unit 303, and a storage unit 304.
[0115] The communication control unit 301 is a means for controlling communication with other devices. For example, the communication control unit 301 receives data (packets) from the terminal 50. The communication control unit 301 also transmits data to the terminal 50. The communication control unit 301 passes data received from other devices to other processing modules. The communication control unit 301 transmits data acquired from other processing modules to other devices. In this way, other processing modules transmit and receive data to and from other devices via the communication control unit 301. The communication control unit 301 has a function as a receiving unit that receives data from other devices and a function as a transmitting unit that transmits data to other devices.
[0116] The reservation management unit 302 is a means for managing hotel (guest room) reservations made by users. The reservation management unit 302 acquires the user's name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, etc. from the terminal 50 that has accessed the guest room reservation site. Furthermore, the reservation management unit 302 acquires the user's desired stay period, guest room type, etc.
[0117] The reservation management unit 302 acquires the user's name, length of stay, etc. by displaying a GUI or the like on the terminal 50 .
[0118] When the user has finished selecting a room, the reservation management unit 302 determines whether or not the reservation desired by the user can be accepted. The reservation management unit 302 determines whether or not the reservation can be accepted by referring to a database that manages room availability and the like.
[0119] A detailed description of room reservations will be omitted. The reservation management unit 302 presents information such as room availability and prices to users on the room reservation site. Users decide which room to reserve by taking into consideration the purpose of their stay, the type of room, etc.
[0120] The reservation management unit 302 stores the name, sex, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, reservation information, etc. of the person making the reservation in the reservation management database. Specifically, the reservation management unit 302 adds a new entry to the reservation management database and stores the name, email address, reservation information, etc. in that entry (see FIG. 11).
[0121] 11 is an example, and is not intended to limit the items to be stored. Furthermore, when a reservation from a user is accepted, the hotel server 10 has not yet acquired identification information (passport information) from the user.
[0122] When the guest has checked out, the reservation management unit 302 deletes the entry corresponding to that guest (entry in the guest reservation management database).
[0123] The check-in control unit 303 is a means for controlling the check-in of guests who have made reservations. The check-in control unit 303 processes a “check-in request” received from the hotel server 10.
[0124] 12 is a flowchart showing an example of the operation of the check-in control unit 303 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The operation of the check-in control unit 303 will be described with reference to FIG.
[0125] When a check-in request is received, the check-in control unit 303 searches the hotel reservation management database using the name or a combination of name and date of birth obtained from the passport information included in the request as a key (database search; step S101).
[0126] If there is no corresponding entry, the check-in control unit 303 sets the check-in processing result to "check-in failed."
[0127] If a corresponding entry exists, the check-in control unit 303 executes check-in processing for the guest who has made a reservation and who has been identified by the search (step S102).
[0128] Specifically, if the processing date of the check-in request is not the scheduled check-in date of the guest who has made a reservation and is identified by the search, the check-in control unit 303 sets the check-in processing result to "check-in failed."
[0129] If the processing date of the check-in request is the scheduled check-in date of the person making the reservation, the check-in control unit 303 sets the result of the check-in process to "check-in successful."
[0130] In this case, the check-in control unit 303 determines the guest room to be assigned to the person who made the reservation. The check-in control unit 303 refers to a database that manages the status of guest rooms and determines the guest room that is appropriate for the type of room reserved by the person who made the reservation.
[0131] The check-in control unit 303 updates the database for managing guests who have made check-in (step S103).
[0132] The check-in control unit 303 stores the passport information (identification information) included in the check-in request received from the terminal 50 (step S104). If necessary, the check-in control unit 303 stores the passport information (identification information) in a database different from the hotel reservation management database.
[0133] The check-in control unit 303 notifies the user of the result of the check-in process. Specifically, the check-in control unit 303 transmits a response to the check-in request to the server device 40 (step S105).
[0134] If the result of the check-in process is "check-in failed," check-in control unit 303 sends a negative response indicating that to server device 40. When sending a negative response to server device 40, check-in control unit 303 discards the passport information acquired from server device 40.
[0135] If the result of the check-in process is "check-in successful," the check-in control unit 303 sends an affirmative response indicating that to the server device 40. The affirmative response includes the room number assigned by the check-in process, the reservation number corresponding to the reservation for which remote check-in has been completed, and hotel information.
[0136] Furthermore, the check-in control unit 303 executes processing according to the user identification information (reservation number) received from the hotel terminal 20. The check-in control unit 303 searches the hotel reservation management database using the acquired reservation number as a key to identify the user (the user who has completed remote check-in). The check-in control unit 303 updates the status of the identified user to "checked in."
[0137] The storage unit 304 is a means for storing information necessary for the operation of the hotel server 10 .
[0138] 13 is a diagram illustrating an example of a processing configuration (processing module) of the server device 40 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 13, the server device 40 includes a communication control unit 401, a user registration control unit 402, a check-in control unit 403, and a storage unit 404.
[0139] The communication control unit 401 is a means for controlling communication with other devices. For example, the communication control unit 401 receives data (packets) from the terminal 50. The communication control unit 401 also transmits data to the terminal 50. The communication control unit 401 passes data received from other devices to other processing modules. The communication control unit 401 transmits data acquired from other processing modules to other devices. In this way, other processing modules transmit and receive data to and from other devices via the communication control unit 401. The communication control unit 401 has a function as a receiving unit that receives data from other devices and a function as a transmitting unit that transmits data to other devices.
[0140] The user registration control unit 402 is a means for executing control related to user registration. The user registration control unit 402 acquires the name, gender, date of birth, address, login information (ID, password), and contact information (telephone number, email address, etc.) on the user registration page.
[0141] The user registration control unit 402 associates the acquired name and other information and stores them in the user management database (see FIG. 14). Note that the user management database shown in FIG. 14 is an example and is not intended to limit the items and other information to be stored.
[0142] The check-in control unit 403 is a means for executing control relating to check-in (remote check-in).
[0143] The check-in control unit 403 has a function as a requesting unit, a function as a generating unit, and a function as a providing unit.
[0144] In response to a request from a user, the check-in control unit 403 as a requesting unit requests the hotel server 10 of the hotel reserved by the user to execute the check-in procedure for the user. When the hotel server 10 successfully completes the check-in procedure, the check-in control unit 403 as a generating unit generates first presentation information to be presented to a delivery company that delivers the user's luggage to the hotel, and second presentation information to be presented to the hotel reserved by the user. The check-in control unit 403 as a providing unit provides (notifies) the generated first presentation information (request presentation information; request two-dimensional code) and second presentation information (receive presentation information; receive two-dimensional code) to the user.
[0145] 15 is a flowchart showing an example of the operation of the check-in control unit 403 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The operation of the check-in control unit 403 will be described with reference to FIG.
[0146] When a check-in request is received from the terminal 50, the check-in control unit 403 transfers the received check-in request to the hotel server 10 of each hotel (step S201). The check-in control unit 403 transmits the check-in request to the hotel server 10, thereby requesting the hotel to remotely check in the user.
[0147] The check-in control unit 403 receives a response (positive response or negative response) to the check-in request from each hotel server 10 (step S202).
[0148] If the received response does not include a positive response (step S203, No branch), the check-in control unit 403 transmits a negative response to the terminal 50 (step S204).
[0149] If the received response includes a positive response (step S203, branch Yes), the check-in control unit 403 generates a baggage ID for identifying the user's baggage (step S205). The baggage ID may be any information that can uniquely identify the baggage. For example, the check-in control unit 403 may assign a unique value each time a check-in request is processed, and use the unique value as the baggage ID.
[0150] After generating the baggage ID, the check-in control unit 403 generates request presentation information (step S206). Specifically, the check-in control unit 403 generates request presentation information that includes the hotel information included in the positive response received from the hotel server 10 and the generated baggage ID. Furthermore, the check-in control unit 403 converts the hotel information and the baggage ID into a two-dimensional barcode.
[0151] The check-in control unit 403 generates information to be presented at the time of receipt (step S207). Specifically, the check-in control unit 403 generates information to be presented at the time of receipt that includes the room number, user identification information (reservation number) included in the positive response received from the hotel server 10, and the generated baggage ID. Furthermore, the check-in control unit 403 converts the room number, reservation number, and baggage ID into a two-dimensional barcode.
[0152] When the request presentation information and receipt presentation information are generated, the check-in control unit 403 transmits an affirmative response to the terminal 50 (step S208). At that time, the check-in control unit 403 transmits an affirmative response including the generated request presentation information and receipt presentation information (the request two-dimensional code and the receipt two-dimensional code) to the terminal 50.
[0153] In this way, the check-in control unit 403 transmits a check-in request including identification information related to the user's identification to the hotel server 10. When the hotel server 10 successfully checks in, the check-in control unit 403 generates first presented information (information presented at the time of request) including hotel information related to the hotel and a baggage ID for identifying the baggage. Furthermore, the check-in control unit 403 generates second presented information (information presented at the time of receipt) including a room number assigned to the user by the check-in procedure of the hotel server 10, the baggage ID, and user identification information for identifying the user. The check-in control unit 403 converts each of the first presented information and the second presented information into two-dimensional barcodes, and transmits the first two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the first presented information and the second two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the second presented information to the terminal 50 carried by the user.
[0154] The storage unit 404 is a means for storing information necessary for the operation of the server device 40 .
[0155] <Hotel Terminal> Examples of the hotel terminal 20 include a mobile terminal device such as a tablet, a computer (personal computer, laptop computer), etc. The hotel terminal 20 can be any equipment or device that can accept operations by hotel staff, etc., and communicate with the hotel server 10. The configuration of the hotel terminal 20 is clear to those skilled in the art, so a detailed description will be omitted.
[0156] <Delivery Terminal> Examples of the delivery terminal 30 include a mobile terminal device such as a tablet, a computer (personal computer, laptop computer), etc. The delivery terminal 30 can be any equipment or device that can accept operations from employees of the delivery company and print shipping slips. Furthermore, the configuration of the delivery terminal 30 is clear to those skilled in the art, so a detailed description will be omitted.
[0157] [System Operation] Next, the operation of the information processing system according to the first embodiment will be described.
[0158] 16 is a sequence diagram illustrating an example of the operation of the information processing system according to the embodiment of the present disclosure. The operation of the information processing system according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.
[0159] The terminal 50 executes identity verification of the user in response to an operation by the user (step S01).
[0160] If the identity verification is successful, the terminal 50 transmits a check-in request to the server device 40 (step S02).
[0161] The server device 40 transfers the check-in request to the hotel server 10 of each hotel (step S03).
[0162] Each hotel server 10 executes check-in processing (step S04).
[0163] Each hotel server 10 transmits a response to the check-in request according to the result of the check-in process (step S05). If the check-in is successful, the hotel server 10 transmits a positive response to the server device 40. If the check-in is unsuccessful, the hotel server 10 transmits a negative response to the server device 40.
[0164] When receiving a positive response (check-in successful), the server device 40 generates request-presentable information and receipt-presentable information (steps S06 and S07).
[0165] Server device 40 transmits a response to the check-in request to terminal 50 (step S08).
[0166] If there is a hotel server 10 where check-in was successful, the server device 40 transmits an affirmative response indicating that remote check-in was successful to the terminal 50. At this time, the server device 40 transmits an affirmative response including the two pieces of presentation information (request presentation information and receipt presentation information) generated above to the terminal 50.
[0167] If there is no hotel server 10 where the check-in has been successful, the server device 40 transmits a negative response to the terminal 50 indicating that the remote check-in has failed.
[0168] The terminal 50 notifies the user of the result of the remote check-in (step S09).
[0169] Next, a modification of the first embodiment will be described.
[0170] <Modification 1> In the above embodiment, the server device 40 transmits two two-dimensional barcodes (a two-dimensional code at the time of request and a two-dimensional code at the time of receipt) to the terminal 50. However, the server device 40 may transmit one two-dimensional barcode to the terminal 50.
[0171] Specifically, the check-in control unit 403 converts the first presented information (request presented information) and the second presented information (receive presented information) into a two-dimensional barcode.
[0172] More specifically, the check-in control unit 403 converts the hotel information, baggage ID, room number, and user identification information (reservation number) into a two-dimensional code, and then transmits an affirmative response (response to the check-in request) including the two-dimensional barcode to the terminal 50 carried by the user.
[0173] The terminal 50 displays the two-dimensional barcode received from the server device 40 in response to an operation by the user at the reception counter or the front desk of the hotel.
[0174] The hotel terminal 20 obtains the information necessary for handing over the key and luggage from the displayed two-dimensional barcode. Similarly, the delivery terminal 30 obtains the information necessary for generating a shipping slip from the displayed two-dimensional barcode.
[0175] In the above embodiment, the server device 40 generates a two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the request presentation information or the receipt presentation information. However, the two-dimensional barcode may be generated by the terminal 50.
[0176] In this case, the server device 40 may transmit an affirmative response including the hotel information, the room number, the baggage ID, the reservation number, etc. to the terminal 50. The terminal 50 may use the hotel information, etc. received from the server device 40 to generate and display a two-dimensional code at the time of request and a two-dimensional code at the time of receipt.
[0177] <Modification 3> In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which two-dimensional barcodes are used to exchange information between terminal 50 and hotel terminal 20 and delivery terminal 30. However, the information may also be transmitted and received between terminal 50 and hotel terminal 20, etc., using short-range wireless communication means such as Bluetooth (registered trademark) or NFC (Near Field Communication).
[0178] <Modification 4> In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which a remote check-in request is made from the terminal 50 carried by the user. However, the request may be made by a device or apparatus other than the terminal 50. For example, a remote check-in request may be made by an airport terminal (not shown in FIG. 3 etc.) installed at the airport.
[0179] In this case, the airport terminal acquires passport information from the passport held by the user, and then transmits a check-in request including the acquired passport information to the server device 40. When the hotel server 10 successfully completes the remote check-in of the user, the server device 40 transmits two two-dimensional barcodes (a two-dimensional code at the time of request and a two-dimensional code at the time of receipt) to the airport terminal.
[0180] The airport terminal prints out each of the two received two-dimensional barcodes.
[0181] The user presents the request two-dimensional code of the two printed two-dimensional barcodes to the staff waiting at the reception counter, and also presents the receipt two-dimensional code of the two printed two-dimensional barcodes to the staff waiting at the hotel front desk.
[0182] Alternatively, the request for remote check-in may be made by a delivery terminal 30 installed at the reception counter. In this case, the delivery terminal 30 prints a delivery slip using the information received from the server device 40, and also prints a two-dimensional code (a two-dimensional barcode to be presented to the hotel at the time of receipt).
[0183] <Variation 5> When the hotel server 10 accepts a room reservation from a user, the hotel server 10 may notify the server device 40 of the user's reservation information (e.g., hotel name, reservation number), the user's name, etc. The server device 40 may identify the user who made the hotel reservation based on the name, etc., and store the reservation information in the account of the identified user.
[0184] In this case, the server device 40 does not transmit a check-in request to each hotel server 10 included in the information processing system, but only transmits the check-in request to the hotel server 10 of the hotel where the user has made a reservation.
[0185] More specifically, the check-in control unit 403 may send a check-in request including the user's name, reservation number, passport information (identification information), etc. to the hotel server 10 of the hotel where the user has made a reservation.
[0186] The hotel server 10 may then execute the check-in process using the acquired reservation number and passport information.
[0187] <Modification 6> In the above embodiment, the case where the information processing system includes the server device 40 has been described. However, the information processing system does not have to include the server device 40. In this case, it is sufficient that the hotel server 10 of each hotel has all or part of the functions of the server device 40.
[0188] Specifically, when a user makes a room reservation, the user's terminal 50 stores information about the hotel where the reservation was made (such as the address of the hotel server 10) and the reservation number. When the user requests remote check-in, the terminal 50 (application) transmits a check-in request including the reservation number and passport information to the hotel server 10 of the reserved hotel.
[0189] The hotel server 10 identifies the user who made the reservation using the reservation number, etc., and executes the check-in process. The hotel server 10 determines the room to be assigned to the user, and generates the request presentation information and the receipt presentation information.
[0190] If the remote check-in is successful, the hotel server 10 transmits the generated request presentation information and receipt presentation information (two two-dimensional barcodes) to the terminal 50 .
[0191] As described above, in the information processing system according to the first embodiment, when a user completes remote check-in, a baggage ID for identifying the user's baggage is issued. The server device 100 generates two two-dimensional barcodes containing the baggage ID and transmits them to the user's terminal 50. The user visits a reception counter at the airport with their baggage and presents the two-dimensional barcode for the baggage delivery service (the two-dimensional code at the time of request) to a staff member waiting at the reception counter. The staff member operates the delivery terminal 30 to output a shipping slip containing the baggage ID from the presented two-dimensional barcode. Furthermore, upon arriving at the hotel where the user is staying, the user presents the two-dimensional barcode (the two-dimensional code at the time of receipt) for receiving the baggage and key to a staff member waiting at the hotel front desk. The staff member operates the hotel terminal 20 to identify the baggage ID and room number from the presented two-dimensional barcode. The staff member then hands the user the baggage with the shipping slip containing the same baggage ID and the key corresponding to the room number. In this way, the server device 40 creates information to be presented to the delivery company and information to be presented to the hotel, so the user does not need to handwrite their name, nationality, etc. on the shipping slip or hotel ledger, thereby improving convenience for the user.
[0192] Furthermore, the terminal 50 performs identity verification of the user before the procedure for using the luggage delivery service or the procedure for using remote check-in. By this identity verification, the terminal 50 ensures that the name on the passport submitted to the hotel matches the name of the person operating the terminal 50. As a result, fraudulent check-ins using another person's passport information are prevented.
[0193] Next, the hardware of each device constituting the information processing system will be described. Fig. 17 is a diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the server device 40.
[0194] The server device 40 can be configured by an information processing device (so-called computer), and has the configuration exemplified in Fig. 17. For example, the server device 40 includes a processor 311, a memory 312, an input / output interface 313, and a communication interface 314. The components such as the processor 311 are connected by an internal bus or the like, and are configured to be able to communicate with each other.
[0195] 17 is not intended to limit the hardware configuration of the server device 40. The server device 40 may include hardware not shown, and may not include the input / output interface 313 as necessary. Furthermore, the number of processors 311 and the like included in the server device 40 is not intended to be limited to the example shown in FIG. 17 , and the server device 40 may include multiple processors 311, for example.
[0196] The processor 311 is a programmable device such as a central processing unit (CPU), a micro processing unit (MPU), or a digital signal processor (DSP). Alternatively, the processor 311 may be a device such as a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The processor 311 executes various programs including an operating system (OS).
[0197] The memory 312 is a random access memory (RAM), a read only memory (ROM), a hard disk drive (HDD), a solid state drive (SSD), etc. The memory 312 stores an OS program, application programs, and various data.
[0198] The input / output interface 313 is an interface for a display device and an input device (not shown). The display device is, for example, a liquid crystal display, etc. The input device is, for example, a device that accepts user operations, such as a keyboard or a mouse.
[0199] The communication interface 314 is a circuit, module, etc. that communicates with other devices. For example, the communication interface 314 includes a network interface card (NIC).
[0200] The functions of the server device 40 are realized by various processing modules. The processing modules are realized, for example, by the processor 311 executing a program stored in the memory 312. The program can be recorded on a computer-readable storage medium. The storage medium can be a non-transitory medium such as a semiconductor memory, a hard disk, a magnetic recording medium, or an optical recording medium. That is, the present invention can also be embodied as a computer program product. The program can be downloaded via a network or updated using a storage medium storing the program. Furthermore, the processing modules can be realized by semiconductor chips.
[0201] In addition, the hotel server 10, hotel terminal 20, delivery terminal 30, terminal 50, etc. can also be configured using information processing devices in the same way as the server device 40, and since their basic hardware configuration is no different from that of the server device 40, explanation will be omitted.
[0202] The server device 40, which is an information processing device, is equipped with a computer, and functions of the server device 40 can be realized by causing the computer to execute a program. The server device 40 also executes a control method for the server device 40 by the program.
[0203] [Modifications] The configuration, operation, etc. of the information processing system described in the above embodiment are merely examples, and are not intended to limit the configuration, etc. of the system.
[0204] In the above embodiment, the case where the information presented at the time of request includes hotel information and a package ID has been described. However, the information presented at the time of request may also include information that identifies the user (e.g., name, etc.). In this case, the delivery terminal 30 may print a shipping slip that includes the user's name, etc.
[0205] In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which a user creates an account on the server device 40 in order to enjoy the luggage delivery service or the remote check-in service. However, the creation of such an account may not be necessary. Alternatively, the server device 40 may perform identity verification using an identification document such as a passport when creating an account.
[0206] When transmitting the passport information to the server device 40, the user's terminal 50 may obtain the user's consent to the transmission of the passport information. If the user's consent is not obtained, the terminal 50 will not transmit a check-in request including the passport information to the server device 40. In this case, the terminal 50 notifies the user that they will not be able to use the remote check-in service or the baggage delivery service unless they transmit their passport information.
[0207] In the above embodiment, the server device 40 has been described as receiving a positive response (check-in successful) from one of the multiple hotel servers 10. However, it is also possible that the server device 40 may receive multiple positive responses due to, for example, the user having made reservations at multiple hotels on the same day. In this case, the server device 40 may inform the user via the terminal 50 that the user has received notifications of successful check-in from multiple hotels and suggest that the user contact the hotel where the reservation was made.
[0208] In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which a hotel room is unlocked with a physical key. However, a hotel room may be a room that supports biometric authentication, which does not require a physical key for entry. In this case, when performing check-in processing, the hotel server 10 stores a facial image of the user (booker) and feature quantities generated from the facial image in a guest reservation management database. The hotel server 10 acquires biometric information (facial image) of the user attempting to enter the room from an authentication module installed in the guest room, and authenticates the user using the biometric information stored in the guest reservation management database.
[0209] The delivery terminal 30 may be managed and installed by multiple delivery companies. In this case, the delivery terminal 30 may select the optimal delivery company to transport the user's luggage based on the acquired hotel information. For example, the delivery terminal 30 may select the delivery company based on the delivery destination and delivery time zone.
[0210] The hotel server 10 may settle the fee for the luggage delivery service together with the accommodation fee when executing the check-out process for the guest. The hotel server 10 may calculate the fee to be charged to the guest based on whether or not the luggage delivery service is used. In this case, the user may set whether or not to use the luggage delivery service when reserving a room.
[0211] In the above embodiment, the operation of the information processing system was described assuming that the user is carrying one parcel. If a single user is carrying multiple parcels and these multiple parcels are to be delivered via the parcel delivery service, the user notifies the delivery company of this. A staff member of the delivery company operates the delivery terminal 30 to print the same number of delivery slips as the number of parcels. Alternatively, the delivery terminal 30 may print a delivery slip that lists the number of parcels received from the user and their subnumbers. For example, if two parcels are to be delivered via the parcel delivery service and the server device 40 notifies the user of the parcel ID "A001," the parcel IDs with subnumbers such as "A001-1" and "A001-2" may be printed.
[0212] In the above embodiment, the server device 40 notifies the terminal 50 of the receipt-presentable information (received two-dimensional code) including the guest room number. However, the server device 40 may notify the terminal 50 of the receipt-presentable information that does not include the guest room number. More specifically, the server device 40 may transmit the receipt-presentable information including the user identification information (reservation number) and the baggage ID to the terminal 50. In this case, the hotel terminal 20 that has acquired the receipt-presentable information (received two-dimensional code) may acquire the guest room number assigned to the user (person making the reservation) by transmitting the user identification information to the hotel server 10.
[0213] In the above embodiment, a case has been described in which a room reservation is made by the hotel server 10. The room reservation may also be made via an OTA (Online Travel Agent).
[0214] In the above embodiment, a case where a baggage delivery service and a remote check-in service are provided to foreigners entering Japan has been described. However, the information processing system disclosed in the present application can also be applied to cases where a baggage delivery service and a remote check-in service are provided to foreigners entering countries other than Japan.
[0215] In the above embodiment, the case where the delivery terminal 30 is included in the information processing system has been described. However, the information processing system does not have to include the delivery terminal 30. In this case, the terminal 50 may directly transmit the hotel information and the package ID to the server of the delivery company. The server of the delivery company may notify an employee of the delivery company (a terminal carried by the employee) of the acquired hotel information and package ID. The employee uses the acquired information to perform the package delivery work.
[0216] In the above embodiment, the terminal 50 generates passport information from a passport held by a user. The terminal 50 may transmit image data of the passport itself or text information (text data) including the passport information to the hotel server 10 as the passport information. In this case, the hotel server 10 may extract the passport information from the image data of the passport.
[0217] The room number may be determined when the user arrives at the hotel, rather than at the time of remote check-in. Specifically, the user may be assigned a room when the user presents the two-dimensional code at the time of receipt to the hotel front desk. The hotel server 10 acquires a reservation number via the hotel terminal 20 and identifies the person who made the reservation based on the acquired reservation number. The hotel server 10 assigns a room to the identified person who made the reservation, and notifies the hotel terminal 20 of the room number of the assigned room.
[0218] Information regarding the delivery status of a package may be notified to the user. For example, the server device 10 periodically or at a predetermined timing transmits a package ID to a delivery company's server (not shown in FIG. 3 , etc.) to obtain the status of the package corresponding to the package ID (e.g., currently being delivered, arrived at the hotel). The server device 10 transmits the obtained package status to the user's contact information (telephone number, email address). The user's terminal 50 notifies the user of the received package status. Furthermore, if the user's terminal 50 receives the package status and a room is assigned to the user, it obtains, using a GUI or the like, whether the user wishes the package to be delivered to the assigned room. The terminal 50 (dedicated application) notifies the hotel (hotel server 10, hotel terminal 20) of the user's preference (whether the package is delivered to the room or not) via the server device 40. For example, when the user presents a two-dimensional barcode upon receipt, if the user's package has been delivered to the room, the hotel staff hands the room key to the user.
[0219] The guest room key may be a card with an integrated circuit (IC) chip built in, a two-dimensional barcode, or the like. Furthermore, these keys may not be handed over by staff, but may be automatically distributed from a kiosk terminal or the like. Alternatively, a two-dimensional barcode corresponding to the guest room key may be stored on the user's terminal 50 (smartphone), or an application other than the dedicated application may function as the digital key.
[0220] In the above embodiment, the hotel reservation management database is configured inside the hotel server 10, but the database may be configured on an external database server or the like. That is, some of the functions of the hotel server 10 may be implemented on another server. More specifically, the above-described "check-in control unit (check-in control means)" and the like may be implemented on any device included in the system.
[0221] The format of data transmission between each device (server device 40, hotel server 10, terminal 50, etc.) is not particularly limited, but data transmitted and received between these devices may be encrypted. Passport information and the like is transmitted and received between these devices, and in order to appropriately protect this information, it is desirable to transmit and receive encrypted data.
[0222] In the flow charts (flowcharts, sequence diagrams) used in the above explanation, multiple steps (processes) are described in order, but the order of execution of the steps executed in the embodiments is not limited to the order described. In the embodiments, the order of the steps shown in the drawings can be changed to the extent that the content is not affected, such as by executing each process in parallel.
[0223] The above-described embodiments have been described in detail to facilitate understanding of the present disclosure, and it is not intended that all of the above-described configurations are required. Furthermore, when multiple embodiments are described, each embodiment may be used alone or in combination. For example, it is possible to replace part of the configuration of one embodiment with the configuration of another embodiment, or to add the configuration of another embodiment to the configuration of one embodiment. Furthermore, it is possible to add, delete, or replace part of the configuration of one embodiment with another configuration.
[0224] From the above explanation, it is clear that the present invention has industrial applicability, and the present invention can be suitably applied to information processing systems that provide users with luggage delivery services and remote check-in services.
