[0028] FIG. 4 shows an example of wireless communication including a base station (BS) and user equipment (UE) based on some implementations of the disclosed technology.DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0029] Multi transmission reception point (M-TRP) coherent joint transmission (CJT) is one of the technologies that can improve the data transmission performance for cell-edge UEs. In frequency division duplex (FDD) mode, the inter-TRP delay / frequency misalignment would cause strong frequency / temporal selectivity and significant performance degradation. In time division duplex (TDD) mode, the inter-TRP uplink (UL)  / downlink (DL) phase misalignment would break the reciprocity assumption and also cause significant performance degradation. To provide CJT performance, the UE-assisted CJT calibration has been introduced, where UE measures the delay / frequency / phase misalignment via downlink reference signal (DL RS) (or uplink reference signal (UL RS) in addition) and reports the calibration information to gNB.

[0030] The inter-TRP UL / DL phase misalignment is measured via both one or more UL sounding reference signals (SRS (s) ) and one or more DL channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS (s) ) . To ensure that the UL / DL channel phase can be canceled out, the SRS (s) and CSI-RS (s) can be transmitted and received using a same antenna port. Then the SRS (s) and CSI-RS (s) involved in the measurement can be linked, and the linkage information can be informed to the UE.

[0031] Besides, after the gNB acquires the inter-TRP delay / frequency information, the information would be used to compensate the delay / frequency misalignment in later CJT PDSCH transmission. However, in CJT CSI (including rank indicator (RI) or precoding matrix indicator (PMI) or channel quality indicator (CQI) ) acquisition, the delay / frequency misalignment is not pre-compensated for the CSI-RS (s) for channel measurement to avoid UE-specific CSI-RS (s) (which may cause unacceptable CSI-RS overhead) . Therefore, the CJT calibration report (which may include at least one of delay / frequency / phase information) MAY need to be linked with the CJT CSI report (which may include at least one of CRI / RI / PMI / CQI) , so that the UE can take the delay / frequency information in to account in CJT CSI calculation and derive accurate PMI / CQI for CJT PDSCH transmission.

[0032] Currently, techniques for performing the following are still unclear: timeline restrictions for the linkage between SRS and CSI-RS / CJT calibration report or the linkage between CJT calibration report and CJT CSI report, subband indication for inter-TRP phase misalignment or phase offset (PO) reporting, and the dropping rule / priority rule for CJT calibration report. Thus, to address at least the above-mentioned technical problems, this patent document describes at least the following technical solutions: timeline restrictions for linking an  SRS with a CSI-RS or a CJT calibration report; subband indication for PO reporting; timeline restrictions for linking a CJT calibration report with a CJT CSI report; and dropping rule / priority rule for CJT calibration report.

[0033] I. Introduction

[0034] Based on current new radio (NR) standards, the linkage between SRS and CSI-RS is supported for non-codebook-based UL transmission. An SRS resource set configured with usage ‘nonCodebook’ can be associated with a CSI-RS. However, this kind of linkage is not supported for CSI acquisition. Moreover, timeline restrictions for linking a SRS with a CSI-RS for CJT calibration report or a CJT calibration report need to be further specified.

[0035] In current NR standards, the linkage between two types of CSI reports is not supported. New mechanisms are needed to support linking the CJT calibration report and CJT CSI report. Then timeline restrictions for linking a CJT calibration report and a CJT CSI report can be further specified.

[0165] II. (e) . Embodiment 4: Dropping rule / priority rule for CJT calibration report

[0166] Dropping rule:

[0167] A UE may transmit a valid CSI report after receiving at least one CSI-RS transmission occasion for each of the CSI-RS resource (s) in one or more corresponding CSI-RS resource sets for channel measurement.

[0168] Thus, for a CJT calibration report, e.g., a CSI-ReportConfig configured with the higher layer parameter reportQuantity set to 'inter-TRP delay information' , 'inter-TRP frequency information' , or 'inter-TRP delay and frequency information' , after the CSI report (re) configuration, serving cell activation, BWP change, or activation of SP-CSI, the UE reports a CSI report only after receiving at least one CSI-RS transmission occasion for each of the CSI-RS resources in the corresponding NTRP CSI-RS Resource Sets for channel measurement and one CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource transmission occasion for the CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource in the corresponding Resource Set for interference measurement no later than the CSI reference resource and within the same DRX Active Time, when DRX is configured, and drops the report otherwise.

[0169] For a CJT calibration report, e.g., a CSI-ReportConfig configured with the higher layer parameter reportQuantity set to 'inter-TRP phase information' or ‘inter-TRP delay and phase information’ , after the CSI report (re) configuration, serving cell activation, BWP change, or activation of SP-CSI, the UE reports a CSI report only after receiving at least one CSI-RS transmission occasion for each of the CSI-RS resources in the corresponding CSI-RS Resource Set for channel measurement and one CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource transmission occasion for the CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource in the corresponding Resource Set for interference measurement no later than the CSI reference resource and within the same DRX Active Time, when DRX is configured, and drops the report otherwise.

[0170] For a CSI report, e.g., a CSI-ReportConfig configured with codebookType set to 'typeI-r19' or 'typeII-r19' , after the CSI report (re) configuration, serving cell activation, BWP change, or activation of SP-CSI, the UE reports a CSI report only after receiving at least one CSI-RS transmission occasion for each of the CSI-RS resources in the corresponding CSI-RS Resource Set for channel measurement and one CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource transmission occasion for the CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource in the corresponding Resource Set for  interference measurement no later than the CSI reference resource and within the same DRX Active Time, when DRX is configured, and drops the report otherwise.

[0171] For a CSI report, e.g., a CSI-ReportConfig configured with codebookType set to 'typeII-Doppler-r19' or 'typeII-Doppler-PortSelection-r19' , after the CSI report (re) configuration, serving cell activation, BWP change, or activation of SP-CSI, the UE reports a CSI report only if receiving at least one aperiodic or Kp periodic or semipersistent consecutive CSI-RS transmission occasions for each CSI-RS resource in the corresponding CSI-RS Resource Set for channel measurement and one CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource transmission occasion for the CSI-RS and / or CSI-IM resource in the corresponding Resource Set for interference measurement no later than the CSI reference resource and within the same DRX Active Time, when DRX is configured, and drops the report otherwise. The value of Kp ∈ {1, 2, 4} is indicated by UE capability.

[0172] Priority rule:

[0173] For two overlapping PUSCHs, the priority rules are applied for physical channels with same priority index if a UE is not configured with sTx-2Panel or a UE is configured by higher layer parameter PDCCH-Config that contains two different values of coresetPoolIndex in different ControlResourceSet in the active DL BWP and the UE is configured with sTx-2Panel and the two overlapping PUSCHs are associated with same value of coresetPoolIndex.

[0174] CSI reports are associated with a priority value PriiCSI (y, k, c, s) =2·Ncells·Ms·y+Ncells·Ms·k+Ms·c+s where

[0175] ● y=0 for aperiodic CSI reports to be carried on PUSCH y=1 for semi-persistent CSI reports to be carried on PUSCH, y=2 for semi-persistent CSI reports to be carried on PUCCH and y=3 for periodic CSI reports to be carried on PUCCH;

[0176] ● k=0 for CSI reports carrying L1-RSRP or L1-SINR and k=1 for CSI reports not carrying L1-RSRP or L1-SINR;

[0177] ● c is the serving cell index and Ncells is the value of the higher layer parameter maxNrofServingCells;

[0178] ○ for a CSI report configured with LTM-CSI-ReportConfig, c is the serving cell index value where the report configuration is configured.

[0179] ● s is the reportConfigID and Msis the value of the higher layer parameter maxNrofCSI-ReportConfigurations.

[0180] ○ for a CSI report configured with LTM-CSI-ReportConfig, s is the LTM-CSI-ReportConfigID and Ms is the value of the higher layer parameter maxNrofLTM-CSI-ReportConfigurations

[0181] A first CSI report is said to have priority over second CSI report if the associated PriiCSI (y, k, c, s) value is lower for the first report than for the second report.

[0182] Two CSI reports are said to collide if the time occupancy of the physical channels scheduled to carry the CSI reports overlap in at least one OFDM symbol and are transmitted on the same carrier. When a UE is configured to transmit two colliding CSI reports,

[0183] ● if y values are different between the two CSI reports, the following rules apply except for the case when one of the y value is 2 and the other y value is 3 (for CSI reports transmitted on PUSCH; for CSI reports transmitted on PUCCH:

[0184] ○ The CSI report with higher PriiCSI(y, k, c, s) value may not be sent by the UE.

[0185] ● otherwise, the two CSI reports are multiplexed or either is dropped based on the priority values.

[0186] For CJT calibration report, k can be 0. Then, when a CJT calibration report should be configured with a lower reportConfigID than the CJT CSI report, it can avoid that the CJT calibration report is not sent while the CJT CSI report is sent, so that NW does not know the calibration information that be considered when UE calculates the CJT CSI report.

[0187] For CJT calibration report, k can be 1. Then, when a CJT calibration report collides with a CJT CSI report, it avoids that the CJT calibration report is not sent while the CJT CSI report is sent, so that NW does not know the calibration information that be considered when UE calculates the CJT CSI report.

[0188] This patent document provides the example techniques that can link the SRS and CSI-RS for phase information measurement, link the CJT calibration report and the CJT CSI report, and RI / PMI / CQI calculation assumption for CJT CSI report.
