1. An item acquisition game device in which an item stored inside an item storage compartment can be acquired, comprising: control means for controlling a first mode in which a player can acquire the item and a second mode in which the settings for the first mode can be adjusted; and detection means for detecting the state of a door that opens and closes the item storage compartment, wherein the control means performs control to switch from the second mode to the first mode when the detection means detects that the door is closed while the second mode is being controlled.
