Description

Terminal, base station, and communication method

[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal, a base station, and a communication method in a wireless communication system.

[0002] In 3GPP (Registered Trademark) (3rd Generation Partnership Project) Rel-19, as a further improvement of LTM (Latency Triggered Mobility or Lower layer (L1 / L2)-Triggered Mobility), in addition to RACH based LTM, Conditional LTM (conditional LTM) that supports RACH (Random Access Chanel)-less LTM is being discussed.

[0003] In a system that supports conditional LTM, cell switching in LTM may fail due to deterioration of the radio link state or the like. In such a case, the UE is required to report information regarding the failure of cell switching, that is, LTM failure (LTM failure), to the network.

[0004] 3GPP TS 38.300 V18.2.0(2024-06)3GPP TS 38.401 V18.2.0(2024-06)

[0005] However, conventionally, in a system that supports conditional LTM, it has not been clear how the UE should report information regarding LTM failure to the network. Furthermore, it has not been clear what information elements the trigger for the occurrence of LTM failure in conditional LTM and the information regarding LTM failure should include. For this reason, in a system that supports conditional LTM, there has been a possibility that the UE cannot appropriately execute LTM failure reporting.

[0006] The terminal in this embodiment includes a transmitting unit that transmits Layer 1 and Layer 3 measurement information to a base station, and a control unit that performs cell switching when predetermined execution conditions are met after the transmission of the measurement information. The control unit detects a failure in the cell switching, and the transmitting unit reports the detected cell switching failure to the base station.

[0007] According to this embodiment, in a system that supports conditional cell switching, the terminal can appropriately report information regarding cell switching failures.

[0009] This embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiments described below are examples, and the embodiments to which the present invention applies are not limited to those described below.

[0010] The wireless communication system of this embodiment operates using existing technology. Existing technology is, for example, wireless communication technology based on communication standards such as the 3GPP standard. Existing technology is, for example, NR (New Radio), but is not limited to existing NR. As used herein, the term "NR" has a broad meaning that includes NR (5G) and later systems (e.g., 6G), unless otherwise specified.

[0011] In the embodiments described below, we will use terms such as SS (Synchronization signal), PSS (Primary SS), SSS (Secondary SS), PBCH (Physical broadcast channel), PRACH (Physical random access channel), PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel), PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel), and PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel), which are used in existing LTE systems. This is for convenience of description, and similar signals, functions, etc., may be called by other names. In NR, the above terms will be referred to as SS, PSS, SSS, PBCH, PRACH, etc., without any particular distinction from LTE.

[0012] In this embodiment, the duplex method may be a TDD (Time Division Duplex) method, a FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) method, or any other method (for example, a Flexible Duplex).

[0013] In this embodiment, "configuring" wireless parameters means either pre-configuring predetermined values, or configuring wireless parameters notified by the base station 10 or terminal 20.

[0014] Figure 1 shows an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system in this embodiment. The wireless communication system in this embodiment includes a base station 10 and a terminal 20, as shown in Figure 1. Although Figure 1 shows one base station 10 and one terminal 20, this is an example, and there may be multiple base stations 10 and terminals 20.

[0015] Base station 10 is a communication device that provides one or more cells and communicates wirelessly with terminal 20. The physical resources of the wireless signal are defined in the time domain and the frequency domain. The time domain may be defined by the number of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, and the frequency domain may be defined by the number of subcarriers or resource blocks. Base station 10 transmits synchronization signals and system information to terminal 20. Synchronization signals are, for example, PSS and SSS. System information is transmitted, for example, via PBCH and is also called broadcast information. Synchronization signals and system information may also be called SSB (SS / PBCH block). As shown in Figure 1, base station 10 transmits control signals or data to terminal 20 via DL (Downlink) and receives control signals or data from terminal 20 via UL (Uplink). Both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of transmitting and receiving signals using beamforming. Furthermore, both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of applying MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication to DL or UL. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may communicate via secondary cells (SCell) and primary cells (PCell) using Carrier Aggregation (CA). In addition, the terminal 20 may communicate via the primary cell of base station 10 and the primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell) of another base station 10 using Dual Connectivity (DC).

[0016] Base station 10 may also be referred to as a RAN (Radio Access Network) node. Base station 10 is, for example, a gNodeB (gNB) in NR.

[0017] Terminal 20 is a communication device equipped with wireless communication capabilities, such as a UE (User Equipment), smartphone, mobile phone, tablet, wearable device, or M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication module. As shown in Figure 1, Terminal 20 receives control signals or data from the base station 10 via DL and transmits control signals or data to the base station 10 via UL, thereby utilizing various communication services provided by the wireless communication system. Terminal 20 also receives various reference signals transmitted from the base station 10 and performs propagation path quality measurements based on the reception results of these reference signals.

[0018] In the following explanation, " / " means "and / or" unless otherwise specified, or unless the context makes it clear that it has a different meaning.

[0019] In the following explanation, UE will be described as an example of a terminal, and gNB will be described as an example of a base station.

[0020] 3GPP Rel-18 introduced LTM (Lower layer (L1 / L2)-Triggered Mobility) as a technology to achieve low-latency, seamless communication with fast-moving UEs. LTM is a technology for high-speed cell switching from source cells to target cells, and Rel-18 specifies RACH-based LTM.

[0021] 3GPP Rel-19 discusses Conditional LTM as a further improvement to LTM. Conditional LTM supports RACH-less LTM in addition to RACH-based LTM. With RACH-less LTM, the UE can connect to the target cell without sending a RACH preamble, further reducing cell switching delays.

[0022] In Conditional LTM, the UE acquires the TA (Timing Advance) values of multiple candidate cells in advance through Early TA (Timing Advance) acquisition. In Rel-18's LTM, the validity of TA values was managed on the network side, but in Rel-19's conditional LTM, the UE is required to guarantee the validity of TA values.

[0023] To manage the validity of the TA value on the UE side, two methods are being discussed: one where the UE maintains the TA timer, and another where the TA value is considered valid if the change in the L1 measurement result is below a threshold.

[0024] Furthermore, the following two options are being discussed in the Rel-19 conditional LTM:

[0025] In Option 1, as shown in Figure 2, the network side determines potential candidate cells / beams based on L1 / L3 measurement reports.

[0026] In Option 2, as shown in Figure 3, the UE determines potential candidate target cells / beams and reports them to the source cell.

[0027] Figure 2 is a sequence diagram showing the operation of the wireless communication system in Option 1 described above. As shown in Figure 2, in step S11, LTM preparation is performed. In step S12, Early TA acquisition is performed.

[0028] In step S13, the UE sends the L1 / L3 measurement report to the Source gNB.

[0029] In step S14, Source gNB determines potential candidate target cells / beams.

[0030] In step S15, the Source gNB sends a Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams to the Target gNB 10-2. In the example in Figure 2, the Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams shows targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, and (UL)TCIstate#2.

[0031] In step S16, the Target gNB prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.

[0032] In step S17, Source gNB sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to the UE.

[0033] In step S18, the UE decides to switch to the target cell / beam when the Execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met. In step S19, the UE performs the first uplink transmission to the Target gNB.

[0034] Figure 3 is a sequence diagram showing the operation of the wireless communication system in option 2 described above.

[0035] In step S21, LTM preparation is performed. In step S22, Early TA acquisition is performed. In step S23, the UE sends L1 / L3 measurement reporting (potential candidate target cells / beams) to the Source gNB.

[0036] In step S24, Source gNB determines potential candidate target cells / beams.

[0037] In step S25, the Source gNB sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2)) to the Target gNB 10-2.

[0038] In step S26, the UE begins monitoring the execution condition. The execution condition is a condition for cell switching and may include latency requirements.

[0039] In step S27, the UE decides to switch to the target cell / beam when the execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met. In step S28, the UE performs the first uplink transmission to the target gNB.

[0040] Here, in a system that supports conditional LTM, cell switching in LTM may fail due to deterioration of the radio link state, interference, resource shortage in the target cell, and synchronization errors between the UE and the target cell when the UE's movement speed is high. In such a case, the UE needs to report information regarding the failure of cell switching, that is, LTM failure (or also referred to as LTM execution failure) to the network.

[0041] However, conventionally, in a system that supports conditional LTM, it was not clear how the UE should report information regarding LTM failure to the network. Furthermore, it was not clear what the trigger for the occurrence of LTM failure in conditional LTM and what information elements the information regarding LTM failure should include. For this reason, in a system that supports conditional LTM, there was a possibility that the UE could not execute LTM failure reporting appropriately.

[0042] According to this embodiment, LTM failure reporting in conditional LTM can be executed appropriately. As described below, according to this embodiment, the procedure for reporting information regarding LTM failure in conditional LTM from the terminal to the base station, the trigger for the occurrence of LTM failure, and the information included in LTM failure reporting can be clarified.

[0043] In this embodiment, LTM failure may be referred to as the failure of cell switching.

[0044] In this embodiment, conditional LTM may be referred to as conditional cell switching that is executed based on predetermined execution conditions after transmission of measurement information of layer 1 and layer 3.

[0045] The examples in this embodiment may be executed independently of each other, or any combination of a plurality of examples may be executed.

[0046] When the UE 20 detects an LTM failure, it may report information regarding the LTM failure to the network. The information regarding the LTM failure may be included in, for example, an RLF report or a Successful handover report. The UE 20 may set or store in the memory of the UE 20 the information regarding the LTM failure, and then report the information regarding the LTM failure to the network.

[0047] FIG. 4 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the procedure of an RLF / handover failure report in the present embodiment. The information regarding the LTM failure may be transmitted from the UE 20 to the gNB 10 in the procedure of the RLF / handover failure report. The gNB 10 may be an IAB (Integrated Access and Backhaul)-donor, which is a node that provides a wireless backhaul to an IAB node in an IAB architecture. The UE 20 may be an IAB-MT (Mobile Termination). The IAB-MT is an interface for the IAB-DU (Distributed Unit) to connect to the IAB-donor, functions as a part of the IAB-DU, and communicates with the IAB donor using the RRC protocol.

[0048] In step S101, the UE 20 detects an RLF / handover failure (handover failure). The UE 20 detects a deterioration in the quality of the radio link or a connection failure to the target cell of the handover, and detects an RLF / handover failure. For example, when the RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power) or the RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality) falls below a certain time threshold, it is determined that the quality of the radio link has deteriorated. For example, when the connection attempt to the target cell fails a certain number of times or the time until connection establishment times out, it is determined that the handover has failed.

[0049] The RLF / handover failure in step S101 may include an LTM failure. An LTM failure is, for example, a failure of cell switching by LTM, and occurs during cell switching by LTM. An LTM failure can be caused by, for example, deterioration of the wireless link, interference, insufficient resources, or the UE moving too fast, and is triggered by an error during the execution of the LTM procedure at the MAC layer. In operations prior to step S101, the UE 20 may store the detected LTM failure in memory, for example.

[0050] In step S102, UE 20, having detected an RLF / handover failure, sends an RRCRestablishmentRequest message to gNB 10 to re-establish the RRC connection.

[0051] The RRCRestablishmentRequest message includes, for example, the following information:

[0052] - ue-Identity: Information to identify the UE (e.g., C-RNTI) - reestablishmentCause: Reason for RRC connection re-establishment (e.g., "radio link failure", "handover failure") - lastVisitedCell-Information: Information about the last connected cell (e.g., PCI (Physical Cell ID))

[0053] In step S103, when gNB 10 receives an RRCRestablishmentRequest message from UE 20, it sends an RRCRestablishment message to re-establish the RRC connection. The RRCRestablishment message includes, for example, the following information:

[0054] - rrc-TransactionIdentifier: An ID to identify the transaction - criticalExtensions: Information to re-establish the RRC connection (e.g., wireless resource settings, security settings) In step S104, UE 20 receives an RRCRestablishment message from gNB 10, and once the re-establishment of the RRC connection is complete, it sends an RRCRestablishmentComplete message to gNB 10. The RRCRestablishmentComplete message includes, for example, "rrc-TransactionIdentifier", which is an ID to identify the transaction.

[0055] In this embodiment, the RLF report / handover failure report available may be included in the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, sent simultaneously with the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, or sent after the RRCRestablishmentComplete message. The message containing the RLF report / handover failure report available is not limited to the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, but may also be RRCSetupComplete, RRCReconfigurationComplete, or RRCResumeComplete.

[0056] In this embodiment, the RLF report / handover failure report available may include information regarding LTM failure.

[0057] In step S105, after re-establishing the RRC connection, the gNB 10 sends a UE information request message to the UE 20 to obtain detailed information about the RLF / handover failure. The UE information request message is used, for example, to request radio quality information or the UE's mobile speed at the time of the RLF / handover failure. The UE information request message may also request information about the LTM failure.

[0058] In step S106, when UE 20 receives a UE information request message from gNB 10, it sends a UE information response message containing the requested information to gNB 10. The UE information response message includes, for example, the following information:

[0059] - rlf-Report-r15: Information regarding RLF (e.g., time of occurrence, cause of failure, wireless quality information) - handoverFailure-r15: Information regarding handover failure (e.g., time of occurrence, cause of failure, target cell information) In this embodiment, the RLF report / handover failure report may be included in the UE information response message, sent simultaneously with the UE information response message, or sent after the UE information response message has been sent.

[0060] In this embodiment, the RLF report / handover failure report may include information regarding LTM failure.

[0061] Thus, according to the above embodiment, the procedure for reporting information regarding LTM failure in conditional LTM from the terminal to the base station can be clarified.

[0062] The trigger for the occurrence of an LTM failure in this embodiment will be explained.

[0063] Figure 5 shows an example of the operation of UE 20 in this Conditional LTM embodiment. The horizontal axis in Figure 5 is the time axis. As shown in Figure 5, the operation of UE 20 is as follows in chronological order:

[0064] 1) Receive LTM config (LTM configuration information) 2) L1 / L3 measurement reporting from UE 20 to gNB 10 3) Receive potential candidate target cells / beams notification from gNB 10 4) Start monitoring execution condition 5) Determine that execution condition is met 6) Send Successful LTM complete to gNB 10

[0065] During LTM preparation, the LTM config is sent from the network to the UE 20. The LTM config may include cell switching conditions (e.g., latency requirements). The execution condition may be set in the UE 20 based on the cell switching conditions included in the LTM config.

[0066] The L1 (Layer 1) information included in the L1 / L3 measurement reports includes, for example, at least one of RSRP, RSRQ, or SINR. The L3 (Layer 3) information includes, for example, at least one of delay, jitter, or packet loss.

[0067] The trigger for the occurrence of an LTM failure may be, for example, at least one of the following cases. UE 20 may detect an LTM failure in at least one of the following cases.

[0068] - If UE 20 does not receive a potential candidate target cells / beams notification as shown in Figure 6 - If a new timer started by UE 20 based on the reception of a potential candidate target cells / beams notification as shown in Figure 7 expires - If UE 20 is unable or likely unable to perform a first UL transmission (first uplink transmission) to target gNB 10-2 (the switching base station) using the target cell / beam, where the inability to perform a first UL transmission includes at least one of the following: UE 20 has not received a dynamic grant from target gNB 10-2, UE 20 has failed to receive a PDCCH DCI, or UE 20 has received an inappropriate dynamic grant from target gNB 10-2.

[0069] Thus, according to the above embodiment, the triggers for the occurrence of LTM failure in conditional LTM can be clearly identified.

[0070] Information regarding LTM failure may include, for example, at least one of the following:

[0071] - At least one cell ID and / or quality (e.g., RSRP, RSRQ, SINR) of the LTM source cell / beam, previous cell / beam, target cell / beam, or candidate cell / beam - Indication indicating Conditional LTM - Indication indicating RACH-less Conditional LTM (conditional LTM that does not require the RACH procedure) - Failure cause indicating that UE 20 did not receive the potential candidate target cells / beams notification (e.g., cause indicating no notification received for a specified period or cause indicating a timeout) - Time period from when UE 20 received the LTM config to when UE 20 received the potential candidate target cells / beams notification or from when UE 20 detected an LTM failure - Time from when UE 20 received the potential candidate target cells / beams notification to when monitoring of the LTM execution condition began or from when UE 20 received the potential candidate target cells / beams notification to when UE 20 detected an LTM failure - UE Time from receiving the potential candidate target cells / beams notification by UE 20 until the LTM execution condition is met - Time from sending the L1 / L3 measurement report to the network by UE 20 until receiving the potential candidate target cells / beams notification by UE 20 or Time from sending the L1 / L3 measurement report to the network by UE 20 until detecting the LTM failure by UE 20- Time from the UE 20 receiving the potential candidate target cells / beams notification to the UE 20 sending a successful LTM complete (for example, the UE 20 sending a successful LTM complete is the time until the LTM completes cell switching) - Time from the UE 20 starting to monitor the execution condition to the UE 20 sending a successful LTM complete or time from the UE 20 starting to monitor the execution condition to the UE 20 detecting an LTM failure - Time from the execution condition being met to the UE 20 sending a successful LTM Complete or time from the execution condition being met to the UE 20 detecting an LTM failure - Inability to perform a First UL transmission to target gNB 10-2 using the target cell / beam or at least one reason why the First UL transmission cannot be performed (for example, if the UE 20 has not received a dynamic grant from target gNB 10-2, if the UE 20 has failed to receive PDCCH DCI, or if the UE 20 is target This occurs when an inappropriate dynamic grant is received from gNB 10-2.

[0072] Figure 9 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the procedure for a successful handover report in this embodiment.

[0073] In step S201, UE 20 sends an RRCRestablishmentRequest message to gNB 10 to re-establish the RRC connection.

[0074] In step S202, when gNB 10 receives an RRCRestablishmentRequest message from UE 20, it sends an RRCRestablishment message to re-establish the RRC connection.

[0075] In step S203, UE 20 receives an RRCRestablishment message from gNB 10, and once the re-establishment of the RRC connection is complete, it sends an RRCRestablishmentComplete message to gNB 10.

[0076] In this embodiment, successHO-InfoAvailable may be included in the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, sent simultaneously with the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, or sent after the RRCRestablishmentComplete message. The message containing successHO-InfoAvailable is not limited to the RRCRestablishmentComplete message, but may also be RRCSetupComplete, RRCReconfigurationComplete, or RRCResumeComplete.

[0077] In this embodiment, successHO-InfoAvailable may include information regarding LTM failure.

[0078] In step S204, after re-establishing the RRC connection, the gNB 10 sends a UE information request message to the UE 20. The UE information request message is used, for example, to request radio quality information or the UE's mobile speed in the event of an RLF / handover failure. The UE information request message may also request information regarding an LTM failure.

[0079] In step S205, when UE 20 receives a UE information request message from gNB 10, it sends a UE information response message containing the requested information to gNB 10.

[0080] In this embodiment, the successful handover report may be included in the UE information response message, sent simultaneously with the UE information response message, or sent after the UE information response message has been sent.

[0081] In this embodiment, the successful handover report may include information regarding LTM failure.

[0082] Thus, according to the above embodiment, the information included in LTM failure reporting in conditional LTM can be clearly identified.

[0083] (Device Configuration) Next, an example of the functional configuration of the base station 10 and terminal 20 that perform the processes and operations described above will be explained. The base station 10 and terminal 20 include the functions to carry out the embodiments described above. However, the base station 10 and terminal 20 may each be equipped with only some of the functions in the embodiments.

A functional block may be realized by combining the one device or the multiple devices with software.

[0092] Functions include, but are not limited to, judgment, decision, judgment, calculation, calculation, processing, derivation, investigation, exploration, confirmation, reception, transmission, output, access, resolution, selection, selection, establishment, comparison, assumption, expectation, assumption, broadcasting, notifying, communicating, forwarding, configuring, reconfiguring, allocating (mapping), and assigning. For example, a functional block (configuration part) that enables transmission is called a transmitting unit or transmitter. In all cases, as mentioned above, the method of implementation is not particularly limited.

[0093] For example, the base station 10, terminal 20, etc. in one embodiment of the present disclosure may function as a computer that processes the wireless communication method of the present disclosure. Figure 12 is a diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the base station 10 and terminal 20 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The above-mentioned base station 10 and terminal 20 may be physically configured as a computer device including a processor 1001, a storage device 1002, an auxiliary storage device 1003, a communication device 1004, an input device 1005, an output device 1006, a bus 1007, etc.

[0094] In the following explanation, the term "device" can be read as "circuit," "device," "unit," etc. The hardware configuration of the base station 10 and terminal 20 may include one or more of the devices shown in the figure, or it may be configured without some of the devices.

[0095] Each function in the base station 10 and terminal 20 is realized by loading predetermined software (programs) onto hardware such as the processor 1001 and storage device 1002, which allows the processor 1001 to perform calculations, control communication by the communication device 1004, and control at least one of the reading and writing of data in the storage device 1002 and auxiliary storage device 1003.

[0096] The processor 1001 controls the entire computer, for example, by running an operating system. [0097] Furthermore, the processor 1001 reads programs (program code), software modules, or data from at least one of the auxiliary storage device 1003 and the communication device 1004 into the storage device 1002, and executes various processes accordingly. The program used is one that causes the computer to execute at least a part of the operations described in the above embodiment. For example, the control unit 140 of the base station 10 shown in Figure 10 may be implemented by a control program stored in the storage device 1002 and operated by the processor 1001. Also, for example, the control unit 240 of the terminal 20 shown in Figure 11 may be implemented by a control program stored in the storage device 1002 and operated by the processor 1001. Although the above-described processes have been explained as being executed by one processor 1001, they may be executed simultaneously or sequentially by two or more processors 1001. [0124] The processing procedures, sequences, flowcharts, etc., of each aspect / embodiment described herein may be reordered, provided they are consistent with each other. For example, the methods described herein present various step elements in an exemplary order and are not limited to that specific order.

[0125] In this specification, specific operations performed by the base station 10 may, in some cases, be performed by its upper node. In a network consisting of one or more network nodes having a base station 10, it is clear that various operations performed for communication with the terminal 20 can be performed by the base station 10 and at least one of the other network nodes (for example, an MME or S-GW, but not limited to these). Although the above example illustrates the case where there is one other network node besides the base station 10, the other network node may be a combination of multiple other network nodes (for example, an MME and an S-GW).

[0126] The information or signals described in this disclosure may be output from a higher layer (or lower layer) to a lower layer (or higher layer). They may also be input and output via multiple network nodes.

[0127] Input and output information may be stored in a specific location (e.g., memory) or managed using a management table. Input and output information may be overwritten, updated, or appended to. Output information may be deleted. Input information may be transmitted to other devices.

[0128] The determination in this disclosure may be made by a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), by a Boolean value (true or false), or by a numerical comparison (for example, a comparison with a predetermined value).

[0129] Software should be broadly interpreted to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software modules, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable files, execution threads, procedures, functions, and so on, whether they are called software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description languages, or by any other name.

[0130] Furthermore, software, instructions, information, etc., may be transmitted and received via a transmission medium. For example, if software is transmitted from a website, server, or other remote source using at least one of wired technology (such as coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair, or digital subscriber line (DSL)) and wireless technology (such as infrared or microwave), then at least one of these wired and wireless technologies is included in the definition of a transmission medium.

[0131] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of the various different techniques. For example, the data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltage, current, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.

[0132] In addition, terms used in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of the channel and symbol may be a signal (signaling). Also, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, cell, frequency carrier, etc.

[0133] The terms “system” and “network” as used in this disclosure are interchangeable.

[0134] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc., described in this disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, relative values from a given value, or other corresponding information. For example, wireless resources may be indicated by an index.

[0135] The names used for the parameters described above are not restrictive in any way. Furthermore, the formulas and other expressions using these parameters may differ from those expressly disclosed in this disclosure. Various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements can be identified by any suitable name, and therefore, the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not restrictive in any way.

[0136] In this disclosure, terms such as "Base Station (BS)", "wireless base station", "base station equipment", "fixed station", "NodeB", "eNodeB (eNB)", "gNodeB (gNB)", "access point", "transmission point", "reception point", "transmission / reception point", "cell", "sector", "cell group", "carrier", and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. Base stations may also be referred to by terms such as macrocell, small cell, femtocell, and picocell.

[0137] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells. If a base station accommodates multiple cells, the entire coverage area of the base station can be divided into multiple smaller areas, each of which may also be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a Remote Radio Head (RRH)). The terms “cell” or “sector” refer to part or all of the coverage area of at least one of the base station and / or base station subsystems that provide communication services in that coverage.

[0138] In this disclosure, the transmission of information by a base station to a terminal may be interpreted as the base station instructing the terminal to perform control or operation based on the information.

[0139] In this disclosure, terms such as "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," and "terminal" may be used interchangeably.

[0140] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or several other appropriate terms.

[0141] At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be called a transmitting device, a receiving device, a communication device, etc. At least one of the base station and the mobile station may also be a device mounted on a mobile body, the mobile body itself, etc. The mobile body refers to a movable object, and its speed of movement is arbitrary. This also includes the case when the mobile body is stationary. The mobile body includes, but is not limited to, vehicles, transport vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, connected cars, excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, forklifts, trains, buses, handcarts, rickshaws, ships and other watercraft, airplanes, rockets, satellites, drones (registered trademark), multicopters, quadcopters, balloons, and items mounted on them. The mobile body may also be a mobile body that moves autonomously based on operation commands. It may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile body (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). Furthermore, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may include devices that do not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an IoT (Internet of Things) device such as a sensor.

[0142] Furthermore, the term "base station" in this disclosure may be interpreted as "user terminal." For example, the various aspects / embodiments of this disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a user terminal is replaced with communication between multiple terminals 20 (which may be called, for example, D2D (Device-to-Device), V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything)). In this case, the terminals 20 may have the functions that the base station 10 has. Also, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be interpreted as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, uplink channel, downlink channel, etc., may be interpreted as side channel.

[0143] Similarly, the term "user terminal" in this disclosure may be replaced with "base station." In this case, the base station may be configured to have the same functions as the user terminal described above.

[0144] As used in this disclosure, the terms “determining” and “determining” may encompass a wide variety of actions. “Determining” may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, or inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), or ascertaining. “Determining” may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), inputting, outputting, or accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory). Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after some action. Also, "judgment (decision)" can be reinterpreted as "assuming," "expecting," or "considering."

[0145] The terms “connected,” “coupled,” and any variations thereof mean any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are “connected” or “coupled” with each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, “connection” may be reinterpreted as “access.” As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be “connected” or “coupled” with each other using at least one of one or more wires, cables, and printed electrical connections, and, in some non-limiting and non-exclusive examples, electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency domain, microwave domain, and optical (both visible and invisible) domain.

[0146] The reference signal can also be abbreviated as RS (Reference Signal), and may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.

[0147] In this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based solely on" unless otherwise specified. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based solely on" and "based at least on."

[0148] Any reference to elements using the designations “first,” “second,” etc., as used in this disclosure does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient way to distinguish between two or more elements. Accordingly, references to the first and second elements do not imply that only two elements may be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in any way.

[0149] In the configuration of each of the above devices, "means" may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.

[0150] Where the terms “include,” “including,” and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, as is the term “comprising.” Furthermore, the term “or” as used in this disclosure is not intended to mean exclusive OR.

[0151] A wireless frame may consist of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of these frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further consist of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.

[0152] Numerical logic may be communication parameters applied to at least one of the transmission and reception of a signal or channel. Numerical logic may include, for example, at least one of the following: subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame configuration, specific filtering processes performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, and specific windowing processes performed by the transceiver in the time domain.

[0153] A slot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain (such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, SC-FDMA (Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access) symbols, etc.). A slot may also be a time unit based on neurologic.

[0154] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain. Minislots may also be called subslots. Minislots may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.

[0155] Wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols all represent units of time when transmitting a signal. Different names may be used for each of these terms.

[0156] For example, one subframe may be called a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be called a TTI. In other words, at least one of a subframe and a TTI may be a subframe in existing LTE (1 ms), a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc., instead of a subframe.

[0157] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, the base station schedules each terminal 20 to allocate wireless resources (such as the frequency bandwidth and transmission power available to each terminal 20) in TTI units. However, the definition of TTI is not limited to this.

[0158] TTI may be a transmission time unit for channel-encoded data packets (transport blocks), code blocks, code words, etc., or it may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the actual time interval (e.g., number of symbols) in which the transport block, code block, code word, etc. are mapped may be shorter than the TTI.

[0159] Furthermore, if one slot or one mini-slot is referred to as a TTI, then one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more mini-slots) may constitute the minimum time unit for scheduling. In addition, the number of slots (number of mini-slots) that constitute this minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.

[0160] A TTI with a time length of 1 ms may be called a normal TTI, a long TTI, a normal subframe, a long subframe, a slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a normal TTI may be called a shortened TTI, a short TTI, a partial or fractional TTI, a shortened subframe, a short subframe, a mini slot, a sub slot, a slot, etc.

[0161] Furthermore, long TTIs (e.g., normal TTIs, subframes, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a time length exceeding 1 ms, and short TTIs (e.g., shortened TTIs, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a TTI length less than that of a long TTI but 1 ms or more.

[0162] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and frequency domain, and in the frequency domain, it may contain one or more consecutive subcarriers. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be the same regardless of the neurology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be determined based on the neurology.

[0163] Furthermore, the time domain of the RB may contain one or more symbols and may be the length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc., may each consist of one or more resource blocks.

[0164] One or more RBs may also be called a Physical RB (PRB), Sub-Carrier Group (SCG), Resource Element Group (REG), PRB pair, RB pair, etc.

[0165] Furthermore, a resource block may consist of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource area comprising one subcarrier and one symbol.

[0166] A Bandwidth Part (BWP), also known as a partial bandwidth, may represent a subset of consecutive common resource blocks (RBs) for a particular neurology in a given carrier. These common RBs may be identified by an index of the RBs relative to a common reference point of the carrier. The PRBs may be defined and numbered within a given BWP.

[0167] A BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be set within a single carrier for a UE.

[0168] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE does not need to assume that it will transmit or receive a predetermined signal / channel outside of the active BWP. In this disclosure, terms such as "cell" and "carrier" may be read as "BWP".

[0169] The structures described above, such as wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols, are merely illustrative. For example, the number of subframes included in a wireless frame, the number of slots per subframe or wireless frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, and the number of symbols, symbol length, and cyclic prefix (CP) length within a TTI can be varied in various ways.

[0170] In this disclosure, if articles are added through translation, such as a, an, and the in English, this disclosure may include the fact that the noun following these articles is plural.

[0171] In this disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "combine" may be interpreted similarly to "different."

[0172] Each aspect / embodiment described in this disclosure may be used individually, in combination, or switched between as needed during implementation. Furthermore, notification of specific information (e.g., notification that "X is") is not limited to explicit notification, but may also be implicit (e.g., by not providing such notification).

[0173] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail above, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein. The present disclosure can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the intent and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the claims. Therefore, the descriptions in the present disclosure are illustrative and not intended to be restrictive in any way.
