Abstract

The present invention relates to compositions, methods and kits for the treatment or prevention of a silicosis. In particular, the compositions, methods and kits are particularly useful, but not limited to, the treatment or prevention of acute silicosis or acute silicoproteinosis, complicated or conglomerate silicosis, accelerated silicosis or chronic silicosis. In one aspect, the present invention provides method of treating or preventing silicosis, or subtype thereof, in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject an antisense oligonucleotide (AON) that promotes the production of endogenous soluble RAGE, thereby treating or preventing silicosis, or subtype thereof, in a subject.
