Adjustment device of a coupling apparatus

Abstract

An adjustment device (1 ), in particular for adjusting a coupling apparatus (2) for a focused ultrasound platform (4) for coupling a focused ultrasound transducer (3) to a patient's body, the transducer (3) being of the type configured to emit a focused ultrasound beam (5) substantially coaxial with an emission axis (6), and wherein the coupling apparatus (2) is of the type comprising a coupling membrane (7) associable with the transducer (3), wherein the adjustment device (1) comprises a main body (8) extending along a device axis (9) between a connection end (10) and an opposite adjustment end (11), wherein the main body (8) is hollow along the device axis (9) and defines a connection opening (12), positioned at the connection end (10), and an opposite adjustment opening (13), positioned at the adjustment end (11), wherein the main body (8) defines a compartment (14) extending along the device axis (9) between the connection opening (12) and the adjustment opening (13), wherein the main body (8) comprises an inner adjustment surface (15) extending from the adjustment opening (13), wherein the inner adjustment surface (15) is substantially rigid and adapted to elastically deform and to guide and shape the elastic deformation of the coupling membrane (7) associable with the transducer (3), and wherein the inner adjustment surface (15), from the adjustment end (11) and in the direction of the connection end (10), has a radially divergent shape with respect to the device axis (9).
