Description

Ship

[0001] This disclosure relates to a ship. This application claims priority from Japanese Patent Application No. 2024-205609 filed in Japan on November 26, 2024, and incorporates its content herein by reference.

[0002] In ships, ammonia may be used as fuel for combustion devices such as main engines. Such ships include a tank for storing ammonia and pipes through which ammonia flows and are connected to the tank.

[0003] Patent Document 1 discloses a ship having a fuel adjustment chamber that houses fuel adjustment equipment for vaporizing and temperature-adjusting fuels such as ammonia supplied to combustion devices such as main engines.

[0004] Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2023-158761

[0005] By the way, in ships that sail using ammonia as fuel as disclosed in Patent Document 1, the concentration of ammonia that can be discharged outside the ship is defined by rules of a classification society or the like. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an ammonia decontamination device that decontaminates ammonia leaked from the fuel adjustment equipment or ammonia released by pipe purging or the like before discharging it into the atmosphere. However, since the space inside the ship is limited, there is a problem that the degree of freedom in arranging the fuel adjustment equipment, fuel pipes, etc. decreases when an ammonia decontamination device is provided in the fuel adjustment chamber.

[0006] This disclosure has been made to solve the above problems, and an object thereof is to provide a ship capable of improving the degree of freedom in arranging equipment and pipes in a fuel adjustment chamber.

[0007] To solve the above problems, the vessel according to this disclosure comprises a hull, an ammonia abatement device, and a control device. The hull has a fuel adjustment chamber that houses an ammonia fuel adjustment device for adjusting ammonia as fuel. The ammonia abatement device is provided in the fuel adjustment chamber and is capable of abating ammonia. The ammonia abatement device includes an exhaust fan capable of mixing the ammonia-containing gas with air in the fuel adjustment chamber to dilute it and discharging it to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber. The control device controls the ammonia abatement device. The control device includes a fan control unit that drives the exhaust fan regardless of whether the ammonia abatement device is abating ammonia or not.

[0008] The vessel described herein allows for increased flexibility in the arrangement of equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber.

This is a diagram showing the functional configuration of the control device of a vessel according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure. This is a diagram showing a combustion device, ammonia fuel adjustment equipment, and ammonia abatement equipment in a vessel according to a modification of the first embodiment of the present disclosure. This is a diagram showing a combustion device, ammonia fuel adjustment equipment, ammonia abatement equipment, and ventilation fan in a vessel according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure. This is a diagram showing the functional configuration of the control device of a vessel according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0010] <First Embodiment> Hereinafter, a vessel according to the embodiment of this disclosure will be described with reference to Figures 1 to 6.

[0011] (Overall configuration of the vessel) As shown in Figure 1, the vessel 1 of this embodiment comprises a hull 2, a combustion device 8, a tank 9, an ammonia fuel adjustment device 20, and an ammonia abatement device 40A. The type of vessel 1 is not limited to a specific type of vessel. Examples of vessel types for vessel 1 include liquefied gas carriers, ferries, RORO ships, car carriers, passenger ships, etc. In this embodiment, the case where vessel 1 is a vessel is described, but vessel 1 is not limited to a vessel and may be an FSU (Floating Storage Unit), FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit), etc., which is not capable of navigation by a main engine, etc.

[0012] The hull 2 has a pair of side panels 5A and 5B that form its outer shell, and a bottom 6. The side panels 5A and 5B are each provided with a pair of side platings that form the left and right sides, respectively. The bottom 6 is provided with bottom plating that connects these side panels 5A and 5B. The hull 2 further includes an upper deck 7, which is a full-length deck located at the uppermost level. A superstructure 4 is provided on this upper deck 7. Living quarters and the like are provided within the superstructure 4. In the vessel 1 of this embodiment, for example, a cargo space (not shown) for loading cargo is provided on the bow 2a side of the bow-stern direction FA from the superstructure 4. The configuration of the hull 2 is not limited in any way, and other configurations are also possible.

[0013] (Configuration of Combustion Device) Figure 2 shows a combustion device, ammonia fuel adjustment equipment, and ammonia abatement device in a ship according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the combustion device 8 is a device that generates thermal energy by burning fuel and is installed in the engine room 11 in the hull 2. Examples of the combustion device 8 include an internal combustion engine used as the main engine for propelling the ship 1, an internal combustion engine used in a power generation facility that supplies electricity to the ship, and a boiler that generates steam as a working fluid. Of the main engine, power generation facility, boiler, etc., provided in the ship 1 of this embodiment, at least one is a combustion device 8 that uses ammonia as fuel.

[0014] As shown in Figure 1, the tank 9 is capable of storing ammonia to be supplied to the combustion device 8. The tank 9 is located, for example, on the upper deck 7. The tank 9 may also be located inside the hull 2.

[0015] (Configuration of Ammonia Fuel Adjustment Equipment) As shown in Figure 2, the ammonia fuel adjustment equipment 20 is equipment that adjusts the ammonia supplied as fuel to the combustion device 8. An example of the ammonia fuel adjustment equipment 20 is an ammonia fuel supply device that supplies ammonia from the tank 9 to the combustion device 8 via the fuel system 100. The ammonia fuel supply device vaporizes the ammonia supplied to the combustion device 8, adjusts its temperature, etc. Besides the ammonia fuel supply device, other examples of the ammonia fuel adjustment equipment 20 include an ammonia gas compressor and an ammonia reliquefaction device.

[0016] The ammonia fuel adjustment equipment 20 is located in the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In this embodiment, the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is shown as being formed on an inner bottom plate 13 located within the hull 2. The fuel adjustment chamber 12 is formed by partitioning the space between the inner bottom plate 13 and the deck 14 directly above the inner bottom plate 13 with a bulkhead 15, between one side 5A and the other side 5B in the width direction of the ship. Note that the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is not limited to being located within the hull 2, but may be located on, for example, the upper deck 7.

[0017] (Configuration of the purge system) The ship 1 is further equipped with a purge system 30. The purge system 30 purges the ammonia flow path between the combustion device 8 and the ammonia fuel adjustment equipment 20 with an inert gas. The purge system 30 illustrated in this embodiment is installed in the engine room 11, but the installation location and configuration of the purge system 30 can be changed as appropriate.

[0018] The purge system 30 performs a so-called purge when performing maintenance on the combustion device 8, by replacing the ammonia remaining in the ammonia flow path, including the fuel system 100 of the combustion device 8, with an inert gas such as nitrogen (purge gas). Here, the remaining ammonia in the flow path may be liquefied ammonia or ammonia gas.

[0019] The purge system 30 is connected via a purge line 101 to a piping system that forms an ammonia flow path, including the fuel system 100. The purge system 30 is capable of supplying an inert gas through the purge line 101. The inert gas can be any gas that does not chemically react with ammonia when in contact with it, for example, nitrogen. When an inert gas is supplied to the piping system from an inert gas supply source (not shown) in the purge system 30, the ammonia in the flow path within the piping system is pushed out by the inert gas. As a result, ammonia (liquefied ammonia, ammonia gas) and purge gas (ammonia-containing gas) containing the inert gas are discharged from the piping system.

[0020] (Configuration of the ammonia abatement system) The ammonia abatement device 40A is installed in the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The ammonia abatement device 40A illustrated in this embodiment comprises a first dilution unit (abatement device body) 41, a second dilution unit 42A, and a control device 60A (see Figure 3).

[0021] The first dilution unit 41 can detoxify ammonia discharged from the flow path of the piping system by purging with an inert gas using the purge system 30. The first dilution unit 41 is connected to the piping system, including the fuel system 100, via a gas flow line 102. The gas flow line 102 guides the purge gas discharged from the piping system of the combustion device 8 (see Figure 1) during purging to the first dilution unit 41.

[0022] In this embodiment, the first dilution unit 41 is a so-called dilution tank and comprises a tank 41a in which the diluent is stored, and an introduction unit (not shown) for introducing purge gas supplied through the gas flow line 102 into the diluent in the tank 41a. The first dilution unit 41 absorbs ammonia contained in the purge gas supplied through the gas flow line 102 with the diluent, thereby reducing the concentration of ammonia in the purge gas. For example, seawater, fresh water, etc., can be used as the diluent. The gas, whose ammonia concentration has been reduced in the first dilution unit 41, is discharged from the first dilution unit 41 through the discharge line 103. One end of the discharge line 103 is connected to the gas phase in the first dilution unit 41. The other end of the discharge line 103 extends outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and is connected to a vent post 18 provided on the upper deck 7.

[0023] The second dilution section 42A further dilutes the ammonia contained in the gas (ammonia-containing gas) whose ammonia concentration has been reduced by passing through the first dilution section 41. In this embodiment, the second dilution section 42A is equipped with, for example, exhaust fans 43A and 43B.

[0024] Each of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B is connected to the middle of the discharge line 103 via a connecting line 104. Each of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B draws in air from the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and sends it to the discharge line 103 through the connecting line 104. The air from the fuel adjustment chamber 12 sent to the discharge line 103 merges and mixes with a gas whose ammonia concentration has been reduced, and is then discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The gas discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is released into the atmosphere through the vent post 18.

[0025] The partition wall 15 defining the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is provided with an air inlet (not shown) that allows air to be introduced from the outside to the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The air inlet is equipped with, for example, a check valve, which allows only the inflow of air from the outside to the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12, and prevents the outflow of air from the inside to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The air inlet introduces air from the outside to the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 in response to the air being drawn into the fuel adjustment chamber 12 by the exhaust fans 43A and 43B.

[0026] Figure 3 is a diagram showing the functional configuration of a ship control device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 3, the control device 60A controls the ammonia abatement device 40A. The control device 60A includes an abatement device control unit 61 and a fan control unit 62.

[0027] The abatement control unit 61 controls the first dilution unit 41 to perform abatement of ammonia discharged from the flow path of the piping system (hereinafter referred to as "batement time") when purging with an inert gas is performed by the purge system 30. When purging with an inert gas is not performed by the purge system 30, the abatement control unit 61 controls the first dilution unit 41 to stop its operation and to perform ammonia abatement (hereinafter referred to as "non-batement time").

[0028] The fan control unit 62 controls the operation of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B of the second dilution unit 42A. The fan control unit 62 controls the exhaust fans 43A and 43B to drive them regardless of whether ammonia is being removed by the second dilution unit 42A of the ammonia abatement device 40A or not, so that the exhaust fans 43A and 43B can also be used as fans for ventilating the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0029] In this embodiment, the fan control unit 62 drives one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B regardless of whether ammonia is being removed by the second dilution unit 42A of the ammonia removal device 40A or not.

[0030] In the second dilution section 42A, when ammonia is being removed by the first dilution section 41, one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B sends air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 to the discharge line 103. This dilutes the gas with reduced ammonia concentration circulating in the discharge line 103. At this time, as one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B sends air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12, air is introduced from outside to inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 through an air inlet (not shown). This ensures ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0031] Furthermore, in the second dilution section 42A, when ammonia is not being removed by the first dilution section 41, one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B sends air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 to the discharge line 103. As one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B sends air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12, air is introduced from outside to inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 through an air inlet (not shown). This ensures ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0032] Here, the capacity and rotational speed of exhaust fans 43A and 43B are set so that one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B satisfies the ventilation capacity of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 according to the regulations of the classification society, etc. In this way, by driving one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B, the other exhaust fan 43A and 43B can be kept as a backup in case of failure, maintenance, etc. For example, the fan control unit 62 may drive the exhaust fans 43A and 43B alternately at predetermined intervals.

[0033] Furthermore, control in the control device 60A is not limited to the computer sequentially executing predetermined processes based on a pre-set program, but also includes so-called remote control, in which, for example, an operator performs a predetermined operation on the control device 60A, causing the control device 60A to control the operation of the ammonia abatement device 40A.

[0034] (Effects) In the above embodiment of the ship 1, the exhaust fans 43A and 43B are driven regardless of whether ammonia is being removed by the ammonia removal device 40A or not. As a result, when ammonia is being removed, the ammonia-containing gas discharged from the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is mixed with the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12, thereby diluting the ammonia and discharging it to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In this case, the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 along with the ammonia-containing gas by the exhaust fans 43A and 43B, thus providing ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. Furthermore, even when ammonia is not being removed, the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 by the exhaust fans 43A and 43B, thus providing ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In other words, the exhaust fans 43A and 43B provide ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 regardless of whether ammonia is being removed or not. By satisfying the ventilation capacity requirements of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 according to the regulations of classification societies, etc., the exhaust fans 43A and 43B of the ammonia abatement device 40A can be effectively utilized, and the need to install a dedicated ventilation fan in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is reduced. As a result, the flexibility of arranging equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be improved.

[0035] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the ammonia abatement device 40A is equipped with multiple exhaust fans 43A and 43B, which increases the ventilation capacity within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 handled by the multiple exhaust fans 43A and 43B. Therefore, the need to install a dedicated ventilation fan within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is further reduced.

[0036] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, when the ammonia flow path between the combustion device 8 and the ammonia fuel adjustment device 20 is purged with an inert gas, the ammonia discharged from the flow path is abolished in the first dilution section 41 of the ammonia abolition device 40A. Therefore, when the ammonia abolition device 40A abolishes ammonia, the gas discharged from the first dilution section 41 can be mixed with the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 to dilute it before being discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. This further reduces the concentration of ammonia in the gas discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. Moreover, by effectively utilizing the exhaust fans 43A and 43B of the ammonia abolition device 40A for ventilation of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 not only during abolition but also when abolition is not occurring, the number of ventilation fans required for ventilation inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be reduced, thereby improving the flexibility of the arrangement of equipment and piping inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0037] (Modification of the First Embodiment) The ammonia abatement device 40A in the first embodiment described above is equipped with a plurality of exhaust fans 43A and 43B, and drives one of the exhaust fans 43A and 43B, but is not limited to this. Figure 4 is a diagram showing a combustion device, ammonia fuel adjustment equipment, and ammonia abatement device in a ship according to a modification of the first embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0038] As shown in Figure 4, in this modified embodiment, the ammonia abatement device 40B of the ship 1 includes, for example, three exhaust fans 43A, 43B, and 43C as a second dilution unit 42B. In this modified embodiment, two of the exhaust fans 43A, 43B, and 43C are driven simultaneously by the control of the fan control unit 62 (see Figure 3). In other words, the control device 60A operates two of the exhaust fans 43A, 43B, and 43C simultaneously, regardless of whether ammonia abatement is being performed or not by the ammonia abatement device 40A.

[0039] In this case, the ammonia abatement unit 40B has one of the exhaust fans 43A, 43B, and 43C reserved as a backup in case of failure or maintenance.

[0040] <Second Embodiment> Next, a second embodiment of the vessel according to the present disclosure will be described. In the second embodiment described below, the only difference from the first embodiment is the configuration in which a ventilation fan 50 is provided, so the same reference numerals are used for the same parts as in the first embodiment and redundant explanations will be omitted. Figure 5 is a diagram showing the combustion device, ammonia fuel adjustment device, ammonia abatement device, and ventilation fan in a vessel according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0041] As shown in Figure 5, the vessel 1 of this embodiment comprises a hull 2, a combustion device 8, a tank 9 (see Figure 1), an ammonia fuel adjustment device 20, a purge system 30, an ammonia abatement device 40C, and a ventilation fan 50.

[0042] The ammonia abatement device 40C comprises a first dilution unit (abatement device body) 41, a second dilution unit 42C, and a control device 60B.

[0043] The second dilution section 42C further dilutes the ammonia contained in the purge gas (ammonia-containing gas) whose ammonia concentration has been reduced by passing through the first dilution section 41. In this second embodiment, the second dilution section 42C is equipped with, for example, an exhaust fan 44. The exhaust fan 44 is connected to the middle of the delivery line 103 via a connection line 104. The exhaust fan 44 draws in air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and sends it to the delivery line 103 through the connection line 104. The air from inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 sent to the delivery line 103 is mixed with the purge gas with reduced ammonia concentration flowing through the delivery line 103 and discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The gas discharged to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is released into the atmosphere through a vent post 18.

[0044] The ventilation fan 50 is independently provided in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 separately from the ammonia removal device 40C. For example, when the ammonia removal device 40C includes a housing (not shown), the ventilation fan 50 is provided outside the housing of the ammonia removal device 40C in the fuel adjustment chamber 12. The ventilation fan 50 is connected to the middle of the delivery line 103 via the connection line 106. The ventilation fan 50 sucks in the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and sends it into the delivery line 103 through the connection line 106. The air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 sent into the delivery line 103 is discharged into the atmosphere through the vent post 18.

[0045] As the exhaust fan 44 and the ventilation fan 50 send the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 into the delivery line 103, air is introduced from the outside to the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 through an air inlet (not shown). Thereby, ventilation in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is achieved.

[0046] Here, the capacities and rotational speeds of the exhaust fan 44 and the ventilation fan 50 are set so that the exhaust fan 44 and the ventilation fan 50 can satisfy the ventilation capacity of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 according to regulations of a classification society or the like.

[0047] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a functional configuration of a control device for a ship according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6, a fan control unit 62 of the control device 60B in this second embodiment controls the operations of the exhaust fan 44 in the second dilution unit 42C and the ventilation fan 50. The fan control unit 62 controls the exhaust fan 44 and the ventilation fan 50 so as to drive the exhaust fan 44 and the ventilation fan 50 regardless of whether the ammonia removal by the first dilution unit 41 of the ammonia removal device 40C is in progress or not.

[0048] (Effect) In the ship 1 of the above embodiment, as in the first embodiment, the exhaust fan 44 is driven regardless of whether ammonia is being removed or not by the ammonia removal device 40C. Thereby, when removing ammonia, the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is mixed with the gas containing ammonia discharged from the fuel adjustment chamber 12, so that the ammonia can be diluted and discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In this case, together with the gas containing ammonia, the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 by the exhaust fan 44, so that ventilation in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is achieved. Also, even when ammonia is not being removed, the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 by the exhaust fan 44, so that ventilation in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is achieved. That is, the exhaust fan 44 provides ventilation for the fuel adjustment chamber 12 regardless of whether ammonia is being removed or not. By having this exhaust fan 44承担 at least part of the requirement to satisfy the ventilation capacity of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 according to regulations such as those of a classification society, the exhaust fan 44 of the ammonia removal device 40C can be effectively utilized, and the need to install a dedicated ventilation fan in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be suppressed. As a result, the degree of freedom in arranging equipment and piping in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be improved.

[0049] Also, in the above embodiment, by providing a ventilation fan 50 that is provided independently of the ammonia removal device 40C in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and can ventilate the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12, the exhaust fan 44 of the ammonia removal device 40C and the ventilation fan 50 provided independently of the ammonia removal device 40C can satisfy the ventilation capacity of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 based on regulations. Even in this case, since part of the ventilation capacity is承担 by the exhaust fan 44 of the ammonia removal device 40C, the ventilation capacity and the number of ventilation fans 50 provided independently of the ammonia removal device 40C can be suppressed. For this reason, the degree of freedom in arranging equipment and piping in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be improved.

[0050] (Other Embodiments) Although embodiments of the present disclosure have been described in detail above with reference to the drawings, the specific configuration is not limited to these embodiments and includes design changes and the like that do not depart from the gist of the present disclosure. In the above embodiments and modifications, the first dilution section 41 is a dilution tank, but the first dilution section 41 is not limited to a dilution tank and may be of any other type as appropriate. For example, the first dilution section 41 may draw up an absorbent liquid capable of absorbing ammonia stored in the tank 41a and spray it into the upper gas phase in the first dilution section 41 via a spray nozzle or the like. As a result, the absorbent liquid comes into contact with the ammonia in the gas phase in the first dilution section 41 and the ammonia is absorbed.

[0051] In addition to the above, other examples of the first dilution unit 41 include a GCU (Gas Combustion Unit) and a catalytic combustion device. The GCU and catalytic combustion device reduce the ammonia concentration in the gas by burning the ammonia contained in the gas. The first dilution unit 41 may also be configured to absorb ammonia contained in the gas using an absorbent material, such as activated carbon.

[0052] Furthermore, in the above embodiments and modifications, the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C are equipped with a first dilution section 41, but the first dilution section 41 is not an essential component. It is also possible to have a configuration without a first dilution section 41. In addition, other dilution sections may be provided upstream of the first dilution section 41 or between the first dilution section 41 and the second dilution section 42A.

[0053] Furthermore, in the above embodiments and modified examples, the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C were described using the case of ammonia discharged by purging as an example. However, ammonia leaked into the fuel adjustment chamber 12 may also be abated by the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C.

[0054] <Note> The vessel 1 described in each embodiment can be understood, for example, as follows.

[0055] (1) The vessel 1 according to the first embodiment comprises a hull 2 having a fuel adjustment chamber 12 housing an ammonia fuel adjustment device 20 for adjusting ammonia as fuel, ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C provided in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 and capable of abating the ammonia, and control devices 60A and 60B that control the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C, wherein the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C are equipped with exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 that can mix the ammonia-containing gas with air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 to dilute it and discharge it to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12, and the control devices 60A and 60B are equipped with a fan control unit 62 that drives the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 regardless of whether the ammonia is being abated or not by the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C.

[0056] As a result, when ammonia is being removed, the ammonia-containing gas discharged from the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is mixed with the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12, diluting the ammonia before it can be discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In this case, the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 along with the ammonia-containing gas by the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44, thus ventilating the fuel adjustment chamber 12. Furthermore, even when ammonia is not being removed, the air inside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12 by the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44, thus ventilating the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In other words, the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 ensure ventilation of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 regardless of whether ammonia is being removed or not. These exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 contribute at least part to satisfying the ventilation capacity of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 according to the regulations of classification societies, etc., thereby enabling effective use of the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 of the ammonia abatement units 40A to 40C, and reducing the need to install a dedicated ventilation fan in the fuel adjustment chamber 12. As a result, the degree of freedom in arranging equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be improved.

[0057] (2) The vessel 1 according to the second embodiment is the vessel 1 of (1), wherein the ammonia abatement devices 40A and 40B are equipped with a plurality of exhaust fans 43A to 43C.

[0058] As a result, the ammonia abatement units 40A and 40B, equipped with multiple exhaust fans 43A to 43C, can increase the ventilation capacity within the fuel adjustment chamber 12, which is handled by the multiple exhaust fans 43A to 43C. Therefore, the need to install a dedicated ventilation fan within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be further reduced.

[0059] (3) The vessel 1 according to the third embodiment is the vessel 1 of (1) or (2), wherein the fuel adjustment chamber 12 is provided separately from the ammonia abatement device 40C and is equipped with a ventilation fan 50 capable of ventilating the inside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0060] As a result, the exhaust fan 44 of the ammonia abatement unit 40C and the ventilation fan 50, which is independently installed separately from the ammonia abatement unit 40C, increase the ventilation capacity within the fuel adjustment chamber 12, thereby satisfying the ventilation capacity requirements for the fuel adjustment chamber 12 as stipulated by regulations. Even in this case, by having the exhaust fan 44 of the ammonia abatement unit 40C handle a portion of the ventilation capacity, the ventilation capacity and number of ventilation fans 50, which are independently installed separately from the ammonia abatement unit 40C, can be reduced. Therefore, the degree of freedom in arranging equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be improved.

[0061] (4) The vessel 1 according to the fourth embodiment is any one of the vessels 1 of (1) to (3), and is provided in the hull 2 and comprises a combustion device 8 that uses ammonia as fuel, and a purge system 30 that purges the ammonia flow path between the combustion device 8 and the ammonia fuel adjustment device 20 with an inert gas, the ammonia abatement devices 40A to 40C each comprise an abatement device body 41 capable of abating the ammonia discharged from the flow path by purging with the inert gas, and the exhaust fans 43A to 43C, 44 mix the gas discharged from the abatement device body 41 with the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 before discharging it to the outside of the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0062] As a result, the ammonia discharged from the ammonia flow path between the combustion device 8 and the ammonia fuel adjustment device 20 by the purge system 30 can be decontaminated by the decontamination device body 41 of the ammonia decontamination devices 40A to 40C. Furthermore, when ammonia is decontaminated by these ammonia decontamination devices 40A to 40C, the gas discharged from the decontamination device body 41 can be mixed with the air in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 to dilute it before being discharged outside the fuel adjustment chamber 12. In addition, by effectively utilizing the exhaust fans 43A to 43C and 44 of these ammonia decontamination devices 40A to 40C for ventilation of the fuel adjustment chamber 12 not only during decontamination but also when not decontaminating, the number of ventilation fans required for ventilation in the fuel adjustment chamber 12 can be reduced, thereby improving the flexibility of the arrangement of equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber 12.

[0063] The vessel described herein allows for increased flexibility in the arrangement of equipment and piping within the fuel adjustment chamber.
