Description

Paper cup with integrated lid

[0001] The present invention relates to a paper cup capable of holding a beverage; more specifically, to a "lid-integrated paper cup" in which the upper part of a wall member of a paper cup made of eco-friendly paper material is improved to form a lid integrally.

[0002] Generally, paper cups are used in a wide range of applications, from holding instant foods like cup noodles to beverages such as water or takeout coffee, and they are equipped with lids to cover the top. Most paper cup lids are made of plastic and are used as single-use items; however, because they are not collected and recycled but are simply discarded, they are becoming a cause of serious environmental pollution.

[0003] Recently, lids used for disposable paper cups are also being made of paper in consideration of environmental issues. Korean Patent Registration No. 10-0568560 (Title of Invention: Paper Lid with Improved Compatibility) discloses a paper lid structure that satisfies both maintaining a stable bonded state with the cup container and aesthetic appearance by manufacturing the container lid using paper as a material. The “Paper Lid with Improved Compatibility” of Korean Patent No. 10-0568560 is composed of a lid body structure including a flange portion (20) formed by being folded and extended vertically along the periphery of a main body portion (10) forming a circular planar shape as shown in FIG. 1, a corrugated groove (21) formed by being cut at regular intervals along the flange portion (20), and a detachable groove (11) formed along the inner corner portion where the flange portion (20) and the main body (10) meet. Therefore, during the process of attaching the lid body to the cup container (30), even if the diameter of the curling part (31) of the cup container (30) varies slightly, the size of the flange part (20) is variable according to the size, thus having the advantage of improved compatibility.

[0004] However, in the structure of the “paper lid with improved compatibility” as described above, the size of the flange portion (20) is variable, which has the disadvantage that the lid body can be easily separated from the curling portion (31) of the cup container (30) and the contents can spill out. In particular, since only the upper part of the curling portion (31) of the cup container (30) is received in the detachable groove (11) of the lid body and maintains a tight state, there is a limit to increasing airtightness, and for compatibility, the detachable groove (11) is formed along the inner corner where the flange portion (20) of the main body (10) meets, so the lid body can be easily removed. Furthermore, since a disposable paper lid is manufactured separately and applied to the cup container (30), not only does the manufacturing cost increase, but there is also a limit to solving environmental problems.

[0005] The present invention aims to solve these problems; the objective of the present invention is to provide a "paper cup with an integrated lid" that can reduce manufacturing costs, prevent the lid from coming off during use, and further enhance user convenience by improving the upper part of a paper cup made of eco-friendly paper material to form a lid integrally.

[0006] In addition, another objective of the present invention is to provide a "lid-integrated paper cup" that prevents distortion during use by maintaining the upper shape of the paper cup firmly while forming the lid by folding it from the top of the paper cup.

[0007] The present invention for achieving the above-mentioned purpose comprises: a paper cup having a wall member made of paper material with an open top and formed in a tapered cylindrical shape in which the inner diameter gradually decreases from top to bottom, and a bottom member made of paper material that closes the lower part of the wall member;

[0008] The above wall member; a drinking port concavely recessed in a half-track shape on one side of the uppermost part of the wall member; and a central folding part provided on the other side of the uppermost part of the wall member opposite to the drinking port, which can be folded into the internal space of the wall member through a U-shaped central folding line, wherein a locking projection is cut in the middle of one side of the central folding line and a locking cut line is provided on the middle of the other side of the central folding line to which the locking projection can be inserted and coupled, and having a first wall folding line whose upper end is connected to the central uppermost part and whose lower end is obliquely connected to one side of the lower part of the central folding line, and a second wall folding line whose upper end is connected to the central uppermost part and whose lower end is obliquely connected to the other side of the lower part of the central folding line; A first wing folding part in which the front end is connected to the bottom of one side of the drinking port and the rear end is connected to the lower part of one side of the central folding part in a downwardly curved manner through a first wing folding line, so as to be folded upwardly inclined into the internal space of the wall member, and the front end of the upper edge is connected to the upper part of one side of the drinking port and the rear end of the upper edge is connected to the upper part of one side of the central folding part, so that when the rear end portion is folded toward the outer direction of the wall member, the upper part of one side of the central folding part where the locking projection is formed is folded vertically through the first wall folding line to form a first wall;The front end is connected to the lower part of the other side of the drinking port, and the rear end is folded into the internal space of the wall member through a second wing folding line that is concavely curved downwardly connected to the lower part of the other side of the central folding part, so that the upper edge of the first wing folding part contacts the inner surface; the front end of the upper edge is connected to the upper part of the other side of the drinking port, and the rear end of the upper edge is connected to the upper part of the other side of the central folding part, so that when the rear end portion folds the upper part of the other side of the central folding part, where the locking cut line is provided, toward the outer direction of the wall member and overlaps and covers the first wing folding part, a part of the other side of the central folding part is folded vertically through the second wall folding line to form a second wall surface, and the locking projection is inserted into the locking cut line; The central folding portion, the first wing folding portion, and the second wing folding portion are folded sequentially to overlap, serving as a lid that covers the open upper portion of the wall member, while the locking projection is inserted into the locking cut line to lock, and the upper portions of one side and the other side of the central folding portion are folded to overlap, thereby forming a pocket inside which the shape is maintained through the first wall and the second wall.

[0009] In addition, the present invention is characterized by having a straw hole cut into the central part of the central folding portion to allow a drinking straw to be inserted.

[0010] According to the “lid-integrated paper cup” of the present invention, which is configured as described above; the central folding part provided on the upper part of the wall member, the first wing folding part, and the second wing folding part are folded so as to overlap sequentially, thereby serving as a lid that covers the open upper part of the wall member, which has the advantage of reducing the manufacturing cost of the paper cup with the lid and preventing the lid from coming off during use. In addition, by forming the lid by folding it on the upper part of the wall member, the upper shape of the wall member is maintained solidly, thereby preventing distortion during use.

[0011] Furthermore, according to the "lid-integrated paper cup" of the present invention, the first wing folding part and the second wing folding part are folded so that they overlap, and the locking projection is inserted into the locking cut line, thereby maintaining a more robust state in which the central folding part and the first and second wing folding parts overlap and are joined. In addition, the central folding part forms an internal pocket by folding so that the upper part of one side and the upper part of the other side overlap between the rear end of the first wing folding part and the rear end of the second wing folding part, and this pocket acts as a support, which has the advantage of more effectively preventing the upper part of the wall member from being distorted when the paper cup is held.

[0012] In addition, according to the “lid-integrated paper cup” of the present invention, a drinking straw can be inserted through the straw hole provided in the central fold to drink a beverage, thus providing the advantage of being usable for a wider variety of purposes.

[0026] Hereinafter, one preferred embodiment according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. {In the description of the present invention, terms such as front, rear, both ends, left, right, upper side, lower side, horizontal direction, front, back, etc., are used to distinguish relative positions or directions and do not imply absolute positions or directions. Furthermore, the components constituting the present invention are made of paper, and a specific description of the material is omitted.}

[0027] Referring to FIG. 2; the “lid-integrated paper cup” according to the present invention is formed in a tapered cylindrical shape in which the inner diameter gradually decreases from top to bottom and is equipped with a wall member (100) made of paper material with an open top and a bottom member (200) made of paper material that closes the bottom of the wall member (100). The wall member (100) of the paper cup according to the present invention is manufactured in the form of a tapered tube by rolling a single layer of pulp paper into a circle, with the top being wide and gradually narrowing toward the bottom, and the two ends overlapping and bonded.

[0028] A drinking port (110) is formed on one side of the uppermost part of the wall member (100), and a lid can be integrally formed by sequentially overlapping and folding the central folding part (120), the first wing folding part (140), and the second wing folding part (160) provided on the upper part of the wall member (100).

[0029] The drinking port (110) is concavely carved in a half-track shape on one side of the uppermost part of the wall member (100).

[0030] The central folding portion (120) is provided on the uppermost side of the wall member (100) facing the drinking port (110), and is configured to be folded into the internal space of the wall member (100) through a roughly U-shaped central folding line (130). A locking projection (121) is formed by cutting into one side of the central folding line (130), and a locking cut line (122) is provided on the other side of the central folding line (130) so that the locking projection (121) can be inserted and connected. In addition, the central folding section (120) is provided with a first wall folding line (124) in which the upper end is connected to the central top end and the lower end is connected obliquely to one side of the lower part of the central folding line (130), and a second wall folding line (126, see FIG. 2 and FIG. 3) in which the upper end is connected to the central top end and the lower end is connected obliquely to the other side of the lower part of the central folding line (130). Furthermore, a straw hole (123) for inserting a drinking straw is cut into the central part of the central folding section (120).

[0031] The first wing folding part (140) is configured so that its front end is connected to the lower part of one side of the drinking port (110), and its rear end is connected to the lower part of one side of the central folding part (120) through a first wing folding line (150) that is concavely curved downward, allowing it to be folded upwardly into the internal space of the wall member (100). It is preferable that the radius of curvature of the center of the first wing folding line (150) be 80 to 85R to reflect the inner diameter of the upper part of the wall member (100), but in the embodiment of the present invention, it is set to 84R. Also, the front end of the upper edge (140a) of the first wing folding part (140) is connected to the upper part of one side of the drinking port (110), and the rear end of the upper edge (140a) of the first wing folding part (140) is connected to the upper part of one side of the central folding part (120). Accordingly, the rear end portion of the first wing folding portion (140) can be folded vertically through the first wall folding line (124) to form the first wall surface (125, see FIG. 2 and 4) and can be folded outwardly toward the wall surface member (100).

[0032] And the second wing folding part (160) is configured so that its front end is connected to the lower part of the other side of the drinking port (110) and its rear end is connected to the lower part of the other side of the central folding part (120) through a second wing folding line (170) that is concavely curved downward, allowing it to be folded into the internal space of the wall member (100). It is also preferable to configure the radius of curvature of the center of the second wing folding line (170) to be 80 to 85R, but in the embodiment of the present invention, it is set to 84R. In addition, the front end of the upper edge (160a) of the second wing folding part (160) is connected to the upper part of the other side of the drinking port (110), and the rear end of the upper edge (160a) of the second wing folding part (160) is connected to the upper part of the other side of the central folding part (120). {It is preferable that the position of the second wing folding line (170) of the second wing folding part (160) be configured to be slightly higher than the height of the second wing folding line (150) of the first wing folding part (140) so that the second wing folding part (160) covers the first wing folding part (140) while applying pressure to it, and in the embodiment of the present invention, it is configured to be about 2 mm higher.} Accordingly, the rear end portion of the second wing folding part (160) can be folded vertically through the second wall folding line (126) to form the second wall (126, see FIG. 2 and 5) by folding the upper side of the other side of the central folding part (120) where the locking cut line (122) is provided, and can be folded outwardly toward the wall member (100).

[0033] Next, the process of folding the upper part of the wall member (100) to form a lid in a paper cup configured in this way and the resulting effects will be explained with reference to FIGS. 3 to 8.

[0034] First, as shown in FIG. 3; a central folding portion (120) provided on the other side of the uppermost part of the wall member (100) in the paper cup according to the present invention is pushed into the internal space of the wall member (100) (see the direction of the arrow in FIG. 3). This central folding portion (120) is pushed inward while folding along the U-shaped central folding line (130) even when lightly pressed.

[0035] And as shown in FIG. 4; the first wing folding part (140) is gently pushed into the inside of the wall member (100) (see arrow direction in FIG. 4). The first wing folding part (140) is folded inward along the first wing folding line (150), which is connected at the front end to the bottom of one side of the drinking mouth (110) and is curved downward to the lower part of one side of the central folding part (120), and the rear end is folded inward along the upper part of one side of the central folding part (120) toward the outside of the wall member (100). That is, when the rear portion of the first wing folding part (140) is folded toward the outer direction of the wall member (100) at the upper side of the central folding part (120) where the locking projection (121) is formed, a part of the central folding part (120) is folded vertically through the first wall folding line (124) to form the first wall (125). The upper edge of this first wing folding part (140) is folded upwardly and inclined into the internal space of the wall member (100).

[0036] Continuing, as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6; the second wing folding part (160) is gently pushed into the wall member (100) (see arrow direction in FIGS. 5 and 6). The second wing folding part (160) is folded along the second wing folding line (170), the front end of which is connected to the lower end of the other side of the drinking mouth (110) and the rear end of which is curved downward and connected to the lower part of the other side of the central folding part (120), so that the rear end folds the upper part of the other side of the central folding part (120) toward the outside of the wall member (110) and simultaneously covers the first wing folding part (140) by overlapping it. In particular, when the rear end portion of the second wing folding portion (160) folds the upper side of the other side of the central folding portion (120), which is provided with a locking cut line (122), toward the outer direction of the wall member (100) and covers the first wing folding portion (140) by overlapping; the locking projection (121) is inserted into the locking cut line (122) while the lower side of the central folding portion (120) is folded vertically through the second wall folding line (126) to form the second wall (127). In this way, as the upper side of one side and the upper side of the other side of the central folding portion (120) are folded overlappingly, a pocket (128) is formed inside, the shape of which is maintained through the first wall (125) and the second wall (127). Also, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 and FIGS. 8; The upper edge (140a) of the first wing folding part (140) is pressed against the inner surface of the second wing folding part (160) to prevent the formation of a gap between them, thereby ensuring that the contents (beverage) contained in the paper cup according to the present invention are discharged only through the drinking port (110). That is, when the paper cup is tilted so that the drinking port (110) faces downward, the beverage contained in the paper cup is discharged only through the drinking port (110) without leaking out through the gap between the first wing folding part (140) and the second wing folding part (160).In addition, the rear portion of the first wing folding part (140) and the upper portion of one side of the central folding part (120) are received and combined together into the inner side of the rear portion of the second wing folding part (160), and at the same time, the locking projection (121) is inserted into the locking cut line (122) and combined, so that the overlapping state of the central folding part (120), the first wing folding part (140), and the second wing folding part (160) does not come undone unless artificial force is applied. Furthermore, as described above, the central folding part (120) is folded so that the upper portion of one side and the upper portion of the other side overlap between the rear portion of the first wing folding part (140) and the rear portion of the second wing folding part (160), forming a pocket (128) inside and acting as a support, thereby preventing the upper portion of the wall member (100) from being distorted when holding a paper cup.

[0037] In this way, when the central folding part (120), the first wing folding part (140), and the second wing folding part (160) provided on the upper part of the wall member (100) are folded sequentially to overlap, they serve as a lid covering the open upper part of the wall member (100), thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of the paper cup with the lid and preventing the lid from coming off during use. Furthermore, by forming the lid by folding, the upper shape of the wall member (100) is maintained solidly, thereby preventing distortion during use. In particular, as the first wing folding part (140) and the second wing folding part (160) are folded to overlap, the locking projection (121) is inserted into the locking cut line (122) and locked, thereby maintaining the state in which the central folding part (120) and the first and second wing folding parts (140) (160) overlap and are combined more firmly. Also, a drinking straw can be inserted through the straw hole (123) provided in the central folding part (120) to drink a beverage, so it can be used for a wider variety of purposes.

[0038] The present invention can be widely used in the field of "lid-integrated paper cups" in which the lid can be integrally formed by improving the upper part of the wall member of a paper cup made of eco-friendly paper material.
