Abstract

The present invention relates to a new thread profile geometry for fasteners intended for application in plastic materials or the like, wherein said geometry is provided with one end that comprises thread turns that vary the outer diameter within the same thread pitch. The fastener (1) thus comprises a head (2), a circular shank (3) provided with a set of thread turns (30) configured by means of a forming region (RF) and a support region (RS), wherein the thread turn (30) of the forming region (RF) comprises variations in the outer diameter within the same thread pitch of the fastener (1). The thread turns of the forming region (RF) advantageously generate relief regions, reducing contact with the plastic material, thereby facilitating controlled thread formation, reducing the force required during installation and providing greater fastening strength between the fastener and the substrate.
