The present application relates to the technical field of display. Provided are an image displaying method and apparatus, and a display device and a storage medium. The image displaying method comprises: acquiring an image to be displayed; dividing said image into a plurality of first partitions in a first preset mode, and dividing said image into a plurality of second partitions in a second preset mode, wherein the number of the second partitions is greater than or equal to the number of the first partitions; determining an expected backlight brightness of said image on the basis of a first backlight value of each first partition and a target light diffusion coefficient of each second partition, wherein a target light diffusion coefficient represents the degree of impact that the brightness of each first partition located within a first preset range of a second partition has on the second partition; and performing pixel compensation on pixels of said image on the basis of the expected backlight brightness, and performing display according to said image that has been subjected to pixel compensation. In this way, the display effect of an image can be improved.
