Abstract
The closure assembly (100) for securing parts of a severed bone comprises first and second telescopically mated sliding bodies (200, 300) with first and second interconnecting bridge members (210, 310) comprising mutually engageable upward and downward projecting teeth (220, 320). The first bridge member (210) has an interior with a base (240) for receiving the second bridge member (310) with an area having upward projecting teeth (220) and a distal access area (250a) between said area with upward projecting teeth (220) and a distal end (205a) of first bridge member (210). Base (240) also comprises a proximal access area (250b) between said area with upward projecting teeth (220) and a proximal end (205b) of first bridge member (210). First bridge member (210) has a pushing part (255) projecting towards the base (240) for pushing the second bridge member (310) towards the base (240) when inserted in first bridge member (210).
