Abstract

The invention relates to a gaseous fuel injector extending along an axial direction (X-X') and comprising: - a needle (2) slidably mounted to control the outlet opening (12); - an armature element (3) that is axially movable between an open position, in which it bears on one end (20) of the needle with the needle (2) in the open position, a rest position, in which it bears on the end (20) of the needle with the needle (2) in the closed position, and an overtravel position, in which it is detached from the end (20) of the needle in the closed position; - the fuel injector further comprising damping means (7) including a first chamber (70) and further comprising distribution means (71) between the first chamber (70) and a duct (10), these being open in the closed position of the armature element (3), but restricted in the overtravel position of the armature element (3).
