Abstract

There is described herein a dry powder inhaler device (100) for administering a powder by inhalation, comprising: a storage chamber operable to hold a supply of powder; a dosing unit (235) adjacent the storage chamber, the dosing unit comprising a rotatable disc with one or more dosing stations, each dosing station comprising less than 5 dosing holes (250) through the rotatable disc, each dosing hole configured to receive and transfer a metered dose of the powder from the storage chamber to an inhalation channel, wherein each of the dosing holes has a side wall profile comprising a curved section; a pressure plate (240) urged against the dosing unit; and an inhalation channel in fluid communication with the dosing unit, wherein the inhalation channel directs the powder entrained in airflow to a user upon inhalation.
