Abstract

Provided are a glass material and a decorative article that have a high refractive index and are suited to being increased in size.　The glass material contains, in mol%, 40-80% TiO2, 10-30% La2O3, 1-30% ZrO2, 1-30% Ga2O3, and 0-10% SiO2, and has a refractive index nd of 2.15 or more.

Claims

1. TiO ２ 40-80%, La ２ O ３ 10-30%, ZrO ２ 1-30%, Ga ２ O ３ 1-30%, SiO ２ A glass material containing 0-10% and having a refractive index nd of 2.15 or higher.

2. The molar ratio of ZrO ２ / TiO ２ is 0.23 or more, and the glass material according to claim 1.

3. The glass material according to claim 1 or 2, which is substantially free of lead components.

4. The glass material according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the Abbe number νd is 27 or less.

5. The glass material according to claim 1 or 2, which is a substantially ellipsoid with a diameter of 4 to 15 mm and an aspect ratio of 0.59 or more.

6. The glass material according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the surface tension at 1550°C is 350 mN / m or more.
