AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing work machines transition to an idling state based on pressure switch signals, which can be delayed or malfunction due to variations in hydraulic oil pressure influenced by temperature and prime mover speed, leading to inappropriate idling states.

Method used

A work machine equipped with a pressure sensor and temperature sensor that determine threshold values based on prime mover speed and hydraulic oil temperature to accurately control the transition to an idling state.

Benefits of technology

Ensures the work machine remains in an appropriate idling state by adjusting the prime mover speed based on real-time hydraulic oil pressure and temperature conditions, preventing delays or malfunctions.

Abstract

The present invention properly brings a work machine into an idling state. A work machine (1) is provided with a prime mover (9, 69), a hydraulic pump (P1, P2) that is driven by the prime mover and discharges hydraulic oil, hydraulic actuators (C1-C5, ML, MR, MT) operated with the hydraulic oil, a pressure sensor (43, 49) for detecting the pressure of the hydraulic oil, a temperature sensor (44) for detecting the temperature of the hydraulic oil, and a control device (7) for determining a first threshold value in accordance with the rotation speed of the prime mover and the temperature of the hydraulic oil and, when the pressure of the hydraulic oil detected by the pressure sensor becomes equal to or lower than the first threshold value, executing idling control by which the prime mover is rotated at a prescribed idling rotation speed.
