Claims
A dual method and system is provided for removing suspended particles from artificial water bodies with a minimum surface area of 10,000 m². A permanent, substandard, centralized filtration flow is used, along with a Chromatography Turbidity Index (CTI) below approximately 19. The CTI is maintained by introducing an effective amount of a CTI Reducing Agent. Other agents may also be introduced.
1. A dual method for the removal of suspended particles from an artificial water body having a minimum surface area of 10,000 m², the method comprising: a. maintaining a permanent centralized filtration flow below standards in the artificial water body; b. maintaining a Turbidity Chromatography Index (CTI) below approximately 19 by introducing an effective amount of a CTI Reducing Agent to reduce the CTI by altering the physicochemical or biological characteristics of the water, wherein the CTI Reducing Agent is an agent or combination of agents that causes a decrease in the CTI of the water, wherein: i. the ability of an agent or combination of agents to qualify as the CTI Reducing Agent is determined by a CTI Reducing Agent Decay Index; ii. the Decay Index represents the minimum required percentage drop in the CTI over a specified period; and iii.Agents or combinations of agents that meet or exceed a Decay Index of 90% per hour are defined as CTI Reducing Agents; and c. the CTI of the water body is defined by the mathematical formula: .
12. A system for adjusting the properties of a water body with a minimum surface area of 10,000 m² with a base permanent filtration flow, the system comprising: a. an agent introduction module equipped with a dosing system and configured to release an effective quantity of a CTI Reducing Agent into the water body if the Turbidity Chromatography Index (CTI) is above approximately 19, wherein the CTI Reducing Agent is selected to reduce the CTI by altering the physicochemical or biological characteristics of the water; and b. the CTI of the water body is defined by the following mathematical formula:
