Beam switching after listen-before-talk

Abstract

This invention relates to beam switching following a Listen-After-Speak (LBT) procedure. Apparatus, methods, and systems for performing beam switching after an LBT procedure are disclosed. One apparatus (500) includes a processor (505) and a transceiver (525) operable on unlicensed spectrum, wherein the transceiver (525) supports multiple device panels. The processor (505) performs (805) a first Listen-After-Speak (“LBT”) procedure using omnidirectional sensing to obtain a first Channel Occupancy Time (“COT”), and in response to a successful LBT, performs (810) a first uplink transmission of a first Transport Block (“TB”) during the first COT and using a first device panel. Here, the first uplink transmission uses a first portion of the first COT. The processor (505) performs (815) a directed LBT procedure for a second device panel to obtain the remainder of the first COT.
