A lighting system for a car and a method of tilting a light module using such system

Abstract

The lighting system (11) for a car (10) comprises an outer cover (9), at least one light module (2), a stepper motor (3) for tilting the light module (2) relative to the outer cover (9), a sensor (12) for tilting the car (10) and a control unit (13) for controlling the stepper motor (3). The light module (2) is coupled to the stepper motor (3). The lighting system (11) further comprises a sensor (8) for the angular position of the light module (2) relative to the outer cover (9). The light module (2), the angular position sensor (8) and the stepper motor (3) are located inside the outer cover (9). The control unit (13) is data-connected to the stepper motor (3), the sensor (12) for tilting the car (10) and the angular position sensor (8). The control unit (13) is adapted to receive data from the sensor (12) of the inclination of the car (10), to determine the desired angle of inclination of the light module (2), to control the stepper motor (3) to the desired inclination of the light module (2) and to control the stepper motor (3) to correct the inclination of the light module (2).
