Abstract
A system for analyzing biological components in a biological sample, the system comprising a fluid device, the system being configured to perform a process comprising: a) receiving a fluid device, wherein: the fluid device comprises a chamber, a port, and a channel; the chamber, port, and channel are interconnected and fluidically communal; the fluid device is configured to receive a biological sample, the biological sample comprising a plurality of cells, and the biological sample having a flow direction within the fluid device; b) compartmentalizing each cell of at least 10⁵ cells of the plurality of cells, thereby physically separating each cell of the at least 10⁵ cells; c) lyseing at least a portion of the at least 10⁵ cells, thereby releasing mRNA molecules from the at least portion of the at least 10⁵ cells;andd) Capture at least a subset of the mRNA molecules using a variety of capture elements, thereby obtaining captured mRNA molecules.;
