Description

The present invention relates to an electric heating mat or heating film for use as a retrofittable underfloor heating system, which is particularly suitable for use in rented apartments and do-it-yourself applications. Conventional heating mats require permanent electrical installation by qualified personnel. The invention solves this problem with a plug-and-play design featuring an integrated thermostat in the power plug. The heating mat consists of a mesh fabric, preferably made of fiberglass, into which a double-insulated, bifilar heating conductor is embedded. This means that only a single connection is required. The mesh fabric supports the heating conductor and allows for easy installation under tiles, embedded in tile adhesive or leveling compound. Alternatively, the heating film consists of bifilar heating loops embedded between two layers of aluminum foil. The aluminum lamination ensures both even heat distribution and electrical safety and can be monitored with a residual current device (RCD). This version would then be suitable for installation under floating floor coverings such as laminate, click parquet, or click vinyl, etc. The invention is characterized by the fact that the heating mat or heating film is equipped with a factory-attached power cord, at the end of which is a plug-in thermostat. The plug-in thermostat regulates the temperature and ensures compliance with the EU Ecodesign Directive. No additional electrical pre-installation or flush mounting is required. Therefore, the heating system can be installed by the user. If necessary, the 'floating' film version can even be removed without leaving any residue.

Heating mat according to claim 1, characterized in that the heating conductor is double insulated and bifilar laid out, so that a connection is only required on one side. Heating film according to claim 1, characterized in that the heating conductor is arranged between two aluminium foils, which enable uniform heat distribution and electrical monitoring. Heating system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the thermostat regulates the operating temperature via an integrated room or optional floor sensor. Heating system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is designed for 230V and has a specific power output between 80 and 200 W / m2.
