Digitally controlled logging system for releasing and controlling safety-critical functions, comprising: - a physical starter chip card with integrated chip and biometric authentication unit, - wherein the target system can only be activated by the physical presence of the starter chip card and successful biometric authentication, - and any access to safety-relevant functions is technically blocked if the physical starter chip card is missing or biometric authentication fails.
