Description
The application concerns freestanding sun protection devices for large areas. Numerous examples of the design, construction and material of sun protection devices are known from the state of the art. Particularly in the area of large umbrellas, which cover 30 square meters or more, conventional freestanding solutions usually feature constructions that require massive base frames and / or employ a fastening technique in which the supporting parts or the cover are fixed and anchored with poles, ropes or cords. The purpose of the application is to offer an improved solution that does not require heavy weights to fix the supporting structure, nor does it include tension cables or cords. Furthermore, sufficient stability should be achieved so that a light to moderate wind load can be absorbed. Finally, the aim is to prevent a water bubble from forming when it rains. This problem is solved by a device according to claim 1. The proposed solution consists of at least two approximately T-shaped supports, each with a column and a crossbeam. The lower end of the column extends sufficiently deep into the ground. A cover is stretched between the crossbeams of the T-beams and fixed along the crossbeams, e.g. using a clamping technique or eyelets. The accompanying figure shows a sketch of one embodiment of the sunshade device according to the invention. It depicts two T-beams and a cover stretched between the crossbeams. The columns of the T-beams project into the ground. The typical use of this sun protection device is to create a large shaded area of approximately 30 to 60 square meters, where a large number of people can be present. The typical height of the column of the T-beams is approximately 3 to 5 m. The typical width of the crossbeam of the T-beams corresponds approximately to the width of the cover and is around 3 to 7m. For structural reasons, the covers are preferably rectangular in shape. However, other quadrilateral shapes, such as trapezoids or parallelograms, are also possible. The crossbeam is typically mounted at a right angle to the column.
