Device for stabilizing the placement of a drinking vessel on an inclined surface, comprising a support unit with a support surface for the drinking vessel, characterized in that the support unit has a compensating device which is designed to align the support surface essentially horizontally regardless of the inclination of the surface, wherein the compensating device is designed as either a wedge-shaped body or a mechanically adjustable support structure with at least one adjustable support element.
