Description

The present invention relates to a profile for a camping awning and to a camping awning with such a profile. State of the art Unlike household awnings, camping awnings are significantly lighter and more delicate in design. For this reason, they must be secured in the extended position by two support poles that extend from the edge of the awning to the ground and rest there. In strong winds, there is a risk that the awning fabric will lift off, damaging the entire awning mechanism. Awnings are very often attached to the side walls of caravans and motorhomes. Frequently, fabric is also attached via keder rails at the front or sides to protect and enhance the area in front of the caravan or motorhome. With these types of camping awnings, the awning fabric extends from an awning box located on the side wall of the caravan or motorhome using articulated arms.When extended, the aforementioned support poles are positioned to secure the extended awning fabric in the extended position. An awning fabric 140 can be extended from the awning box 110 by means of articulated arms 130. The awning fabric 140 terminates in an awning rail 120, to which support poles 150 can be attached when the awning fabric 140 is extended. These support poles, together with the awning rail 120, support and secure the extended awning fabric 140. Figures 1 and 2 illustrate the situation according to the prior art under calm or moderate wind conditions. In strong winds, the awning fabric 140 can billow out in the prior art, as schematically illustrated in Figures 3 and 4.
