Connectors for connecting to a panel

Abstract

Connector (1) for connection to a panel (100), comprising: a contact carrier (2) structurally connected to a cable (3), the contact carrier extending along a connector axis (A) and supporting a contact element (7) connected to a conductor (40) of the cable; a locking device (4) with a projecting part (12) and a fixed part (11a) attached to the contact carrier, the locking device comprising one or more locking elements (5); a shield contact device (6) with a projecting part (13) and a fixed part (11b) attached to the contact carrier, the fixed part being configured to connect to a cable shielding layer (41) of the cable and the projecting part being configured to contact the panel to form an electrical shielding connection;wherein the protruding part of the locking device and the protruding part of the shield contact device are structurally separate, so that when the connector is attached to the panel, the locking device provides a mechanical fixation and the shield contact device, when the connector is attached to the panel, provides an electrical shielding contact.
