Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of construction, in particular to the interior layout of a construction. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for assembling a partition on a planar support. In particular, according to the present invention, the partition is assembled using snap-fit means. [Background technology]
[0002] French Patent No. 2 719 089 discloses a device for assembling partitions, in particular removable partitions. The device uses a profile that can accommodate the end faces of the partitions, as shown in FIG. 4 of French Patent No. 2 719 089. More specifically, the profile comprises a groove against which the rim of the partition is intended to rest. The device described in French Patent No. 2 719 089 further comprises a clip designed to cooperate with the profile and hold the partition in place.
[0003] However, this arrangement is not satisfactory.
[0004] In fact, this system requires that after the partition has been joined to the profile, clips be fitted to secure the partition to the profile.
[0005] This final step is a source of complexity, given the size of the partition and the need to temporarily hold it in place.
[0006] Additionally, the clip remains visible once it is snapped onto the profile and therefore may need to be covered.
[0007] The object of the invention is therefore to propose a method for assembling a partition that is simple to implement and has improved ergonomics compared to the solutions known from the prior art.
[0008] It is a further object of the present invention to provide a method of assembling a partition that limits handling of the partition after it is installed.

[0037] According to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for assembling a partition on a support surface of a planar support. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of attachment means for assembling the partition to the support surface by a simple snap fit. According to this first aspect, the attachment means are formed on or attached to one and the other of the end faces, called support end faces, of the partition and the support surface. According to the present invention, in particular, in the final step of the method, the partition is positioned and fixed on the support surface.
[0038] It will be appreciated that once the partition is positioned and secured to the support surface, the steps of finishing, decorating and painting can be carried out.
[0039] An end face is understood to be a substantially planar side face of the partition.
[0040] Thus, according to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for assembling a partition to at least one support surface of a planar support, the partition having two main surfaces that are substantially parallel and connected to said contour, the contour having four end surfaces, the method of assembly comprising attaching at least one of the end surfaces to the at least one support surface using said attachment means, the attachment means comprising at least one clip and at least one opening defined by the contour configured to cooperate with the at least one clip by a snap fit, the at least one clip being attached to one of the support surface or end surface in question and the opening being formed in the other of the support surface or end surface.
[0041] According to this first aspect, the invention uses attachment means respectively assembled to one or the other of the end faces and the support surface, and further according to this first aspect, the attachment means are attached / formed before positioning the partition in question, in particular the end face in question, on the support surface.
[0042] According to one variant embodiment, the present invention also provides that an opening is formed in the support surface. In particular, forming the opening can involve removing material, drilling, stamping, punching, or any other operation that can lead to the formation of an opening. In this regard, the planar support according to this variant embodiment can include a metal beam with a central, substantially planar section, the central section having a surface aligned with the support surface. For example, a punching step can be performed on the support surface of the beam to form the opening.
[0043] According to another variant embodiment, an additional part can be positioned to form the opening. In particular, the additional part can include the fitting and / or attachment of a snap-in section on the support surface. More specifically, the snap-in section comprises an elongate plate extending in the elongate direction between its two ends, said plate comprising an opening. In particular, the plate comprises two opposing surfaces, respectively called upper and lower. Advantageously, it is also possible to form a recess opening through the support surface (however, it is also conceivable to form a recess in the partition and an opening through the end surface). Under these conditions, the plate can be placed with its lower surface above the recess, said plate comprising an opening that provides access to the recess.
[0044] The snap-fit section (i.e., plate) comprises a central section disposed between two end sections configured to allow the snap-fit section to be attached to one of the support surface and the assembly end surface via the underside of the snap-fit section.
[0045] The opening is defined by a snap-fit contour that is configured to cooperate with the snap-fit means by engaging the snap-fit means through the upper surface of the snap-fit section into the opening in an assembly direction extending from the upper surface toward the lower surface of the snap-fit section opposite the upper surface.
[0046] Advantageously, the opening has an extension in the direction of extension that is greater, advantageously at least twice as great, than the lateral extension of the snap-fit section, so as to allow adjustment of the positioning of the partition by moving the partition in the extension direction of the opening when the snap-fit means are in snap-fit engagement with the snap-fit contours.Further advantageously, the snap-fit section can be provided with a bend such that the end sections lie in a first plane and the central section lies in a second plane different from the first plane and downstream of the first plane in a direction opposite to the assembly direction.
[0047] According to a first aspect, the method may include performing the following steps: a) attaching at least one clip to one of an end surface of the support and a support surface; b) forming at least one opening in the other of the end surface and the support surface; c) positioning the end face opposite the support surface and then snapping at least one clip onto the at least one contour.
[0048] Attachment of the clip may involve the use of fasteners such as screws.
[0049] In this regard, the clip can include a base and snap-fit means extending from a first surface of the base. The base further includes a second surface opposite the first surface, whereby the clip can be assembled onto one of the end surface and the support surface of the support.
[0050] The base may be provided with holes that allow the clip to be attached to one of the end face of the support and the support surface, for example, using a screw.
[0051] The snap-fitting means may comprise two spring fins. In particular, each spring fin may comprise a first substantially planar section and a second substantially planar section in a direction extending from the first surface to the second surface, referred to as the main direction, where the first two sections extend divergently relative to one another in the main direction, and the second two sections extend convergently relative to one another in the main direction.
[0052] Particularly advantageously, the two first sections are arranged so that when the snap-fit means engages the opening and makes contact by sliding against the contour of the opening (called the snap-fit contour), moving the sections towards each other allows full insertion of the snap-fit means into the opening.
[0053] Advantageously, the two second sections may also be arranged to abut against a snap-fit contour after passing through the opening in the first section.
[0054] Each spring fin may comprise a spring strip attaching its first section to the base, in particular the spring strip may connect a rim of the first section to the base.
[0055] Advantageously, the base comprises clearance elimination means configured to compensate for any clearance along the assembly direction as defined in the following disclosure of the invention. The clearance elimination means may comprise a tab extending from the rim of the base and bent in a direction opposite to the main direction, the tab being configured to abut against the upper surface and to exert a force in a direction opposite to the assembly direction.
[0056] Advantageously, the at least one opening is elongated in the extension direction so as to allow relative movement in the extension direction of the at least one clip within the opening after carrying out step c), and the assembly method further comprises, following step c), a step d) of adjusting the positioning of the partition, the adjusting of the positioning comprising movement of said partition in the extension direction. This latter aspect facilitates assembly, in particular the positioning and subsequent snap-fitting of the partition at at least two different (and non-parallel) end faces.
[0057] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a kit for assembling a partition to a support surface of a planar support, the partition having two main faces that are substantially parallel and connected to said profile, the profile having four end faces, the assembly kit comprising: said clip comprising a base and snap-fit means extending from a first surface of the base, the clip being adapted to be assembled onto one of the support surfaces or one of the end surfaces of the profile (called the assembly end surface) via a second surface of the base opposite the first surface; a substantially planar support surface intended to be fixed to the other support surface and to the assembly end surface, the snap-fit section being elongated in the extension direction and having an opening defined by a snap-fit contour and configured to cooperate by snap-fit with the snap-fit means by engaging the snap-fit means in the opening via the upper surface of the snap-fit section in an assembly direction extending from the upper surface towards the lower surface of the snap-fit section opposite the upper surface.
[0058] This second aspect repeats the features described in relation to the first aspect.
[0059] The present invention also relates to a third aspect relating to the implementation of an assembly kit.
[0060] More specifically, the invention further relates to a method for assembling a partition on a support surface of a caul plate, the partition having two main faces that are substantially parallel and connected to the profile, the profile having four end faces, and a method for implementing the assembly kit, comprising: - attaching a clip to an end face of the partition, referred to as the assembly end face; - forming a snap-fit section on the support surface of the caul plate; - positioning the assembly end face of the partition opposite the support surface so as to engage the snap-fit means in the opening.
[0061] The following disclosure of the present invention provides a detailed description of examples relating to the various aspects discussed above.
[0062] The following disclosure describes the various steps of a method for assembling a partition to at least one support. It is understood that a partition in the sense of the present invention may include a room partition or a room wall facade.
[0063] 1, the partition 1 has two main faces 2 and 3, which are connected by the contour 4, and the partition has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped. In this regard, the contour has four end faces 5, 6, 7, 8, which are formed such that two adjacent end faces form a right angle.
[0064] The partition can comprise any type of material, particularly wood.
[0065] The method according to the invention comprises providing a partition 1 and a support surface 10 of a planar support 9. The planar support 9 may comprise another partition, a batten, a skirting board, a room floor, or a dividing wall.
[0066] Furthermore, when the planar support comprises a partition, the support surface may be either an end surface or a major surface of the partition in question.
[0067] The method according to the invention is designed to assemble the partition 1 to the support surface 10 of a planar support 9. In particular, this assembly uses attachment means comprising at least one clip and at least one opening defined by a contour known as a snap-in contour. According to the invention, the snap-in contour is configured to cooperate with the at least one clip by snap-in.
[0068] In this manner, at least one clip can be attached to one of the support surfaces and one of the four end surfaces, known as the assembly end surfaces, and an opening can be formed in the other of the support surface and the assembly end surface.
[0069] For example, at least one clip may be assembled to the assembly end face and an opening may be formed in the support surface.
[0070] The remainder of this disclosure is limited to a simple discussion of a clip assembled on an assembly end face and an opening formed on a support surface, however, the invention is not limited to this aspect only and one skilled in the art can contemplate the reverse situation.
[0071] FIG. 2 shows an example of a clip 11 that can be used to implement the method described in the present invention.
[0072] Clip 11 comprises a base 12 and a snap-fit means 13. Base 12 is generally planar and comprises two opposing surfaces, referred to as a first surface 14 and a second surface 15, respectively.
[0073] The first surface 14 is the surface from which the snap-fitting means 13 extend, and the second surface 15 is the surface on which the clip is intended to be assembled to an assembly end face. In particular, the base can be provided with holes 16 and 17 for screwing the clip to the assembly end face. The clip can also be assembled on the assembly end face by means of protrusions that project relative to the second surface 15.
[0074] The snap-fit means 13 comprises two spring fins 18a and 18b. In particular, the two spring fins 18a and 18b are symmetrical to each other with respect to a plane of symmetry P, which is perpendicular to the first surface 14.
[0075] More specifically, each spring fin 18a and 18b may have a substantially planar first section 19a, 19b and a substantially planar second section 20a, 20b in a direction extending from the first surface 14 to the second surface 15, referred to as the main direction.
[0076] The first two sections 19a and 19b extend divergently relative to one another in the main direction, and the second two sections 20a and 20b extend convergently relative to one another in the main direction.
[0077] "Extending divergently in the main direction" is understood to mean that the distance between the first two sections increases along that direction.
[0078] "Extending convergently in a main direction" is understood to mean that the distance between two second sections decreases along that direction.
[0079] Each spring fin 18a, 18b may comprise a spring strip 21a, 21b that attaches its first section 19 to a base. The spring strips 21a, 21b may comprise corrugated metal strips that give the spring strips their spring properties.
[0080] Thus, as this aspect will become clearer in the following description, the two first sections 19a and 19b are arranged in such a way that when the snap-fit means engages in the opening in the assembly direction and makes contact by sliding against the snap-fit contour, the snap-fit means can be fully inserted into the opening by moving the sections towards each other.
[0081] FIG. 17 illustrates another clip that may be implemented within the scope of the present invention.
[0082] In particular, such as the clip shown in Figure 2, this other clip 11 also comprises a base 12 and snap-fit means 13.
[0083] The ends of base 12 may include alignment notches 12a and 12b to ensure alignment of the clip during assembly.
[0084] The snap-fit means may be the same as that of the clip shown in Figure 2. The base 12 is generally planar and comprises two opposing surfaces, referred to as a first surface 14 and a second surface 15, respectively.
[0085] The first surface 14 is the surface from which the snap-fit means 13 extend, and the second surface 15 is the surface on which the clip is intended to be assembled against an assembly end face of the planar support 9 or against a support surface.
[0086] In particular, the base may be provided with holes 16 and 17 for assembling the clip to the assembly end face using fastening means (eg, screws, rivets, clips, etc.).
[0087] The clip 11 comprises two side walls 44 extending from the first surface 14, advantageously perpendicular to said first surface 14, and terminating in two converging walls 45. In particular, each converging wall 45 extends the side wall 44 from a rim of the side wall 44. It will be understood that each of the converging walls 45 extends the side wall 44 from a rim of the side wall 44 opposite the second surface 15. It will be understood that the converging walls 45 converge towards each other.
[0088] The snap-in means 13 comprises two spring fins 18a and 18b that are symmetrical to one another, in particular with respect to a plane of symmetry P that is perpendicular to the first surface 14 and starts at the junction of one of the side walls with the converging wall and extends towards the first surface 14.
[0089] More specifically, each spring fin 18a, 18b can include a substantially planar first section 19a, 19b and a substantially planar second section 20a, 20b in a direction extending from first surface 14 to second surface 15, referred to as the main direction. Each spring fin 18a, 18b can include a first planar section and a second planar section from its beginning to its end. The first planar sections extend divergently relative to each other, and the second planar sections extend convergently relative to each other.
[0090] The clip 11 may include anti-shear cleats 46. In particular, four of these anti-shear cleats 46 are arranged in pairs on either side of the side wall 44. In particular, a pair of anti-shear cleats 46 parallel to the side wall 44 extend from two opposing limbs of the base, respectively. Each anti-shear cleat 46 may terminate in an inwardly folded section.
[0091] 3 is a schematic diagram of an aperture according to the disclosed principles of the present invention. In particular, the aperture 22 shown in FIG. 3 is obtained by directly removing material from the support surface of a planar support 9. In this case, the planar support 9 comprises a metal beam or metal backing plate having a rectangular or square cross section. Material removal can include any technique known to those skilled in the art of metal structure forming.
[0092] Thus, forming the opening 22 may include drilling, stamping, punching, or any other operation that may result in the formation of the opening 22 .
[0093] 3 further shows a stamped area 23 formed around the opening, which is specifically designed to provide mechanical reinforcement of the support surface 10. In particular, the stamped area 23 is recessed from the support surface 10.
[0094] The opening 22 is defined by a contour known as a snap-fit contour 24, which is configured to cooperate with the clip 11 through a snap-fit.
[0095] In particular, cooperation between clip 11 and snap-fit profile 24 involves engagement of clip 11 within opening 22 through support surface 10. During this engagement, divergence of first sections 19 a, 19 b decreases as engagement progresses until second sections 20 a, 20 b reach snap-fit profile 24. Second sections 20 a, 20 b then pass through opening 22, allowing first sections 19 a, 19 b to move apart as they converge. After passing through opening 22, the second sections slide against the snap-fit profile from the face opposite the front face.
[0096] Thus, the mounting of the assembly end face according to the terminology of the present invention may be preceded by the following steps: a) attaching the clip 11 to the assembly end face (FIG. 4); b) forming an opening 22 on the support surface (FIG. 3); c) Positioning the assembly end face on the opposite side of the support surface and then snapping the clip into the snap-fit profile.
[0097] In step a), the screw 25 is attached to the assembly end face 6a.
[0098] Advantageously, the base 12 of the clip 11 comprises clearance elimination means adapted to compensate for any clearance in the assembly direction, in particular comprising a tab 26 (FIG. 2) extending from the rim of the base 12 and bent in a direction opposite to the main direction, the tab being adapted to abut against a support surface and to exert a force in a direction opposite to the assembly direction.
[0099] According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, forming the opening 22 may comprise placing a plate 27 on the support surface 10 of the planar support 9 (FIG. 7).
[0100] In this regard, plate 27 may include upper and lower surfaces 28 and 29 and may include opening 22. In particular, elongated plate 27 extends between two ends in the elongated direction. More specifically, plate 27 may include a central section 30 and two end sections 31, 32 configured to allow snap-fit sections to be attached to a support surface by the underside of plate 27. It will be understood that opening 22 is carried by central section 30.
[0101] Thus, step b) may comprise a step b3) of placing the plate 27 with its lower surface 29 against the support surface 10. The installation of the plate 27 may comprise a screwing step.
[0102] Furthermore, step b) may also include, prior to step b3), forming a recess 33 (step b1)) opening through the support surface and the assembly end face. According to the latter embodiment, step b3) is performed such that the plate overlaps the recess 33 and the opening provides access to the recess.
[0103] As shown in Figures 5, 6 and 7, plate 27 can be provided with bends such that end sections 31 and 32 lie in a first plane and central section 29 lies in a second plane that is different from the first plane and downstream of the first plane in a direction opposite to the assembly direction.
[0104] According to an advantageous embodiment, the opening is elongated in the direction of extension so as to allow a relative displacement of the clip in the opening in the direction of extension after step c) has been carried out. In particular, this last aspect makes it possible to consider, following step c), a step d) for adjusting the positioning of the partition, which adjustment of the positioning comprises a displacement of said partition in the direction of extension.
[0105] For example, Figure 8 shows the installation of two plates 27a, 27b on end face 6 (hereinafter "horizontal end face") of partition 2, two other plates 27c, 27d on end face 5 (hereinafter "vertical end face"), and two clips 11a and 11b on end face 7 (hereinafter "other vertical end face").
[0106] Figure 9 shows schematically the positioning of clips 11c, 11d, 11e, and 11f on support surface 10a (hereinafter "horizontal support surface") of horizontal planar support 9a. Figure 9 also shows the positioning of clips 11g and 11h on support surface 10b (hereinafter "vertical support surface") of vertical planar support 9b, which forms a right angle with horizontal planar support 9a.
[0107] Figures 10 and 11 show the assembly of partition 2 to horizontal support surface 10a. In particular, as shown in Figure 10, the horizontal end faces are positioned on opposite sides of the horizontal support surface, allowing clip 11c to engage plate 27a and clip 11d to engage plate 27b (shown in Figures 8 and 9). Figure 10 shows the ends of the engagement and subsequent snap fit between clip 11c and plate 27a, and clip 11d and plate 27b.
[0108] In these two figures, the vertical plane is maintained at a distance from the vertical support surface. Therefore, by considering the elongated openings in plates 27a and 27b, it may also be possible to move the partition after clip 11c engages with plate 27a and clip 11d engages with plate 27b.
[0109] In this regard, the openings in plates 27a and 27b may have an extension in the direction of elongation that is greater than the lateral extent of the snap-fit sections of clips 11c and 11d, advantageously at least twice as great.
[0110] This last aspect therefore makes it possible to adjust the positioning of the partition 2, tending to bring the vertical end face 5 closer to the vertical support face 10b so as to engage with the clip 11g of the plate 27c on the one hand and the clip 11h of the plate 27d on the other hand (Figures 11 and 12).
[0111] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, a disassembly wedge 34 can be considered. In particular, the disassembly wedge 34 can be arranged in a recess 33, as shown in FIG.
[0112] As shown in Figure 14, the disassembly wedge 34 comprises two parallel main walls 35, 36, each provided with a free rim 35a and 36a opposite a bottom 37 of the disassembly wedge.
[0113] 13, the disassembly wedge 34 is configured to be inserted into the recess 33 by its bottom 37. In particular, the disassembly wedge 34 is designed to be inserted into the recess 33 through its bottom 37, so that the opening 22 in the plate 27 is perpendicular to the surface of the disassembly wedge opposite the bottom 37.
[0114] Furthermore, the disassembly wedge 34 is configured to assume one or the other of a first position and a second position within the recess along the assembly direction.
[0115] In particular, the first position shown in Figure 15 is a position in which the free limbs 35a and 36a are held at a distance from the first sections 19a and 19b.
[0116] The second position is where the free rims 35a and 36a press the first sections together, allowing the snap-fit means to be withdrawn in the direction opposite to the assembly direction shown in FIG.
[0117] In particular, moving the disassembly wedge 34 from the first position to the second position involves moving the wedge in a direction opposite to the assembly direction, and moving from the second position to the first position involves moving the disassembly wedge within the recess in the assembly direction.
[0118] The disassembly wedge may also comprise two lateral levers 38 extending from the bottom 37 in a direction towards one of the free rims 35a, 36a and each terminating in a tooth 39. The two teeth 39 extend in two opposite directions, respectively.
[0119] It will be understood that the lateral levers each extend along surfaces known as lateral sides of the disassembly wedge that are specific to the lateral lever and that face each other, in particular the two lateral sides being perpendicular to the main walls 35 and 36.
[0120] Plate 27 may be provided with stop means extending from its underside, intended to cooperate with teeth 39. In particular, abutment means 40 (FIG. 7) may be configured to make it possible to hold the disassembly wedge in the second position by cooperation between abutment 40 and teeth 39.
[0121] In particular, as shown in Figures 5 and 7, the abutment means may comprise two lamellae known as abutment lamellae 42 and 43, which extend from their origins from the end sections 31 and 32, respectively. In particular, the abutment lamellae 42 and 43 extend towards each other substantially parallel to the central section 30. As shown in Figure 7, the abutment lamellae terminate in a rounded section in the assembly direction.
[0122] Alternatively, as shown in Figure 6, each abutment lamella 42, 43 may comprise, from its origin toward its free end, a first portion 42a, 43a and a second portion 42b, 43b. The two first portions 42a, 43a extend toward each other, and the two second portions 42b, 43b extend from the first portion 42a, 43a in the assembly direction. Each abutment lamella 42, 43 may further comprise a cleat 42c, 43c. The cleat 42c, 43c extends convergently from one of the second portions 42b, 43b, respectively, in the direction opposite to the assembly direction.
[0123] In particular, the cleats 42c, 43c are configured to form abutment means for cooperating with the teeth.
[0124] Finally, the switching from one of the first and second positions to the other of these two positions can be controlled via a tool designed to act directly on the disassembly wedge. In particular, the tool can comprise a rod designed to be inserted into a circular or elliptical opening 41, giving access to the disassembly wedge, made in the partition or the planar support. In particular, the tool can act on the bottom of the disassembly wedge. According to this embodiment, the opening 41 can be made in the surface of the planar support opposite the support surface. According to another embodiment, the opening can be arranged on the side of the planar support and is therefore elliptical in shape.
[0125] The invention further relates to a kit for assembling a partition to a support surface of a planar support, the partition having two main faces that are substantially parallel and connected to a profile, the profile having at least three end faces, for example four end faces, the assembly kit comprising: said clip comprising a base and snap-fit means extending from a first surface of the base, the clip being adapted to be assembled onto one of the support surfaces or one of the end surfaces of the profile (called the assembly end surface) via a second surface of the base opposite the first surface; a snap-in section that is substantially planar and intended to be rigidly connected to the other of the support surface or the assembly end surface, The snap-fit section comprises a snap-fit section that is elongated in an elongation direction, has an opening defined by a snap-fit contour, and is configured to cooperate with the snap-fit means by snapping the snap-fit means into the opening through the upper surface of the snap-fit section in an assembly direction extending from the upper surface toward the lower surface of the snap-fit section opposite the upper surface.
[0126] In particular, the assembly kit may incorporate some or all of the features described in relation to the assembly method.
[0127] The invention further relates to the use of the kit for the assembly of the compartment.
[0128] Naturally, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, but variations can be added thereto without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
