Abstract

This invention provides a neutron irradiation device that can deliver neutrons tailored to the patient's body shape and the affected area during BNCT treatment. The neutron irradiation device is a neutron generator attached to a robot arm, comprising: a neutron generator capable of emitting neutrons emitted from a neutron source through an opening formed in the housing; and a deceleration module detachably attached to the opening for slowing down neutrons emitted from the neutron source.

Claims

1. A neutron generator that can be attached to a robot arm, wherein neutrons emitted from a neutron source can be emitted from an opening formed in the housing, The system comprises a deceleration module that is detachably attached to the opening and slows down neutrons emitted from the neutron source, The aforementioned speed reduction module is A metal base plate formed in a plate shape, The base plate is fixed to the speed reducer, which comprises at least one selected from high-density polyethylene, beryllium, and fluororesin. The base plate is removably attached to the inner surface that defines the opening. Neutron irradiation equipment.

2. The reduction gear module attached to the aforementioned opening is designated as the first module. The neutron irradiation device further comprises a speed reducer changer, The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the speed reducer changer has a second module which differs from the first module in at least one of material and thickness, and is configured to allow the first module to be removed from the opening and the second module to be attached to the opening.

3. The reduction gear changer further comprises a third module which differs from the first module and the second module in at least one of its material and thickness. The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the deceleration changer is capable of attaching one of the deceleration modules, selected from a plurality of deceleration modules including the second module and the third module, to the opening.

4. The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, wherein each of the first module and the second module includes a moderator having at least one selected from high-density polyethylene, beryllium, and fluororesin.

5. The first module and the second module each include a reduction body with a different thickness from the other. The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the maximum thickness of the thicker of the first module and the second module of the decelerator is 1.2 times or more and 3 times or less than the maximum thickness of the other decelerator.

6. The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 2 or claim 3, further comprising a control device capable of outputting a control signal for controlling the operation of the deceleration element changer and capable of remote operation of the deceleration element changer.

7. The system further comprises a multi-axis robotic arm supporting the neutron generator. A neutron irradiation apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 3.

8. The control device further comprises a device that controls the operation of the speed reducer changer. The neutron irradiation apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the control device controls the decelerator changer to replace the decelerator module attached to the neutron generator based on a treatment plan.
