Abstract
The present invention relates to a load-bearing wall construction system using modular earth or concrete blocks designed to be assembled by simple interlocking without the use of binders. Each block incorporates vertically and horizontally aligned internal cavities designed to accommodate reinforcing bars and poured concrete, thus forming a reinforced monolithic structure. Complementary projections and recesses ensure precise alignment of the blocks and a solid interlocking fit, optimizing the stability of the assembly before the concrete is poured. The central pockets of the blocks, which can have various geometries such as trapezoidal, omega, or oval, are designed to improve internal anchoring and allow for even load distribution. During assembly, these cavities create vertical and horizontal conduits which, once filled with concrete and reinforcement, increase the rigidity and cohesion of the structure while reducing thermal bridges. This configuration limits relative movement between blocks and improves resistance to lateral forces and shear stresses, particularly in the event of earthquakes. The system consists of several types of blocks: central blocks, corner blocks, and end blocks, each adapted to specific construction configurations. This modular design allows for adaptability to architectural requirements while facilitating the insertion of reinforcement and continuous concrete pouring. The assembly forms a high-rigidity load-bearing wall with increased seismic performance and ease of installation, suitable for both residential construction and reconstruction projects in high-risk areas.
