AUTONOMOUS DEVICE REPLACEMENT

Abstract

A standalone replacement protocol implemented in a lighting control system includes synchronizing a copy or representation of the settings of each of a plurality of lighting control devices across a wireless control network. The standalone replacement protocol further includes, upon powering up a replacement device, scanning one or more networks via the replacement device to locate the wireless control network and detect other lighting control devices. The standalone replacement protocol also includes, in response to locating the wireless control network, transmitting a provisioning request to one or more of the other detected lighting control devices. The standalone replacement protocol further includes determining, in a subset or all of the lighting control devices, that a device on the wireless control network has failed.The autonomous replacement protocol also includes provisioning the replacement device based on the determination that there is a faulty device in the wireless control network.
