Abstract

This description relates to a driving assistance system (10) and a method for assisting the driving of a vehicle (1) with a steering wheel (3) or handlebars, comprising a control device (12) configured to receive from a navigation system (2) at least one signal indicating an imminent maneuver by the vehicle traveling along a calculated route (21) to a destination, the maneuver involving at least one change in the direction of movement of the vehicle. The control device (12) is configured to process such a signal from the navigation system (2) and, if such signal indicates an imminent maneuver, generate and provide an actuation signal (AS) to at least one haptic actuator (15, 16, 30) of the vehicle to generate at least one haptically perceptible stimulus (LV, RV) acting on the steering wheel (3) or handlebars before the vehicle reaches the maneuvering position.The description also refers to a vehicle comprising said driving assistance system.
