Abstract
The present utility model provides an apparatus for fractional distillation with a temperature control system. The apparatus comprises a feedstock flask coupled to a heat source, a vertically oriented and unpacked fractionating column divided into a plurality of heating zones, a temperature control system comprising a plurality of heating elements and a plurality of temperature sensors arranged longitudinally along the fractionating column and attached to the feedstock flask, a vacuum pump, a digital vacuum pressure controller disposed in- line between a condenser and the vacuum pump to continuously monitor and regulate the operating pressure, a pressure gauge, the condenser, a cooling device connected to the condenser, and a receiving flask configured to collect condensed distillates. The heating elements and temperature sensors cooperate to establish a controlled multi-zone thermal gradient along the length of the fractionating column, enabling effective vapor- liquid separation without the use of packing materials or physical vapor-liquid contact devices, thereby providing a simpler alternative to conventional packed fractionating columns while retaining high separation efficiency.
