Abstract
Clamping unit for a forming machine, comprising a movable mold mounting plate (2), a rapid traverse device (3) configured to move the movable mold mounting plate (2) relative to a fixed mold mounting plate (4), and a clamping force mechanism (5) separate from the rapid traverse device (4) configured to build up a clamping force between the fixed mold mounting bar (4) and the movable mold mounting plate (2), wherein the rapid traverse device (3) is arranged substantially coaxially to a central longitudinal axis (6) of the clamping unit (1).
