A printing apparatus which performs printing on a printed medium in which a plurality of labels each having an adhesive layer are discretely attached to a long strip-shaped backing paper, characterized by comprising: a label peeling unit which peels the labels from the backing paper; a label conveying unit which conveys the labels peeled by the label peeling unit; a label positioning unit which positions the labels conveyed by the label conveying unit; and a printing unit which performs printing on the labels positioned by the label positioning unit.
