A method for extracting valuable metals chromium, nickel, manganese and zinc from stainless steel dust
By using sodium persulfate roasting and hydrochloric acid pickling, the refractory spinel phase in stainless steel dust is destroyed, enabling efficient recovery of chromium, nickel, manganese, and zinc. This solves the problems of large equipment footprint and high energy consumption in existing technologies, achieving low-cost and efficient metal extraction.

Abstract
The present application belongs to the field of nonferrous metallurgy, and particularly relates to a method for extracting valuable metals chromium, nickel and manganese and zinc from stainless steel dust. The method comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing pretreated stainless steel dust with sodium persulfate in proportion; roasting the mixture, and then cooling; acid washing the cooled roasting product, and finally centrifugally separating to obtain an acid leaching solution containing chromium, nickel, manganese and zinc and an acid leaching ash. In the sodium persulfate roasting process, the refractory spinel phase containing chromium, nickel and manganese and zinc is destroyed and converted into a complex sulfate salt which is easily soluble. The present application uses an environmentally friendly and low-cost flux to destroy the refractory crystal phase at low temperature, thereby realizing green and efficient recovery of valuable metals chromium, nickel, manganese and zinc.
