Abstract

The present application discloses a method and apparatus for running a television application. The method comprises: in response to a user's startup operation for a target television application, starting and running a target shell program corresponding to the target television application, the target shell program running on a target television terminal and providing an operating environment for the target television application; and the target shell program controlling the operation of the target television application. In this method, since the target shell program runs on the target television terminal and provides an operating environment for the target television application, the target shell program controls the operation of the target television application, thereby eliminating the need for the target television application's operation and management processes to rely on the television system of the target television terminal, freeing the target television application's operation and management processes from being restricted by the television system, and improving the flexibility and controllability of the target television application's operation and management processes.
