A method for preparing scandium triflate

Abstract

This application pertains to the field of preparing scandium trifluoromethanesulfonate, specifically relating to a method for preparing scandium trifluoromethanesulfonate, comprising the following steps: placing scandium carbonate and an organic solvent as raw materials in a reaction vessel, stirring to suspend the scandium carbonate in the organic solvent; purging the reaction vessel jacket with hot water, and introducing trifluoromethane and sulfuryl fluoride gases from both ends of the reaction vessel; reacting while purging, with the purging process being completely closed; after the gas introduction is completed, stirring is continued for 2–4 hours; purging with nitrogen to remove residual trifluoromethane and sulfuryl fluoride gases; raising the pressure in the reaction vessel to 0.073–0.08 MPa, closing the nitrogen valve, and filtering the material in the reaction vessel before entering a dryer to obtain the scandium trifluoromethanesulfonate. Compared to the reaction of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid with metal salts, this application achieves a higher yield, reaching over 99.2%, and the reaction process is relatively simple, yielding a high-purity finished product through a single reaction, filtration, and drying step.
