Method for adsorption and desorption of carbon dioxide

Abstract

In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, a method for adsorbing and desorbing CO2 may comprise: adsorbing CO2 onto an adsorbent solution comprising a CO2 depleted amidoxime compound, where adsorbing CO2 onto the adsorbent solution comprising a CO2 depleted amidoxime compound may comprise contacting the adsorbent solution with a gas comprising CO2 at a first temperature, to form an adsorbent solution comprising a CO2-rich amidoxime compound; and subsequently desorbing CO2 from the adsorbent solution comprising the CO2-rich amidoxime compound, where desorbing CO2 from the adsorbent solution comprising the CO2-rich amidoxime compound may include heating the adsorbent solution comprising the CO2-rich amidoxime compound to a second temperature higher than the first temperature, the second temperature is less than or equal to 80 DEG C to remove at least a portion of the CO2 from the CO2-rich amidoxime compound and form a CO2-depleted amidoxime compound.
