[0003] A unit cell of a general fuel cell has a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) located at the innermost side thereof, and the membrane electrode assembly includes a polymer electrolyte membrane capable of moving protons and an anode and a cathode as electrodes provided on both surfaces of the electrolyte membrane so that hydrogen and oxygen can react.
[0004] In addition, a gas diffusion layer (GDL) is stacked outside the membrane electrode assembly, ie, outside where the anode and cathode are located, and a bipolar plate having a flow path formed thereon is located outside the gas diffusion layer to supply fuel and discharge water generated by the reaction.
[0005] The plurality of unit cells having the above-described configuration constitute a fuel cell stack by being stacked in series so that the fuel cells generate a desired level of output. The fuel cell stack includes an end plate joined to the outermost sides of the unit cells so as to support and fix the plurality of unit cells.
[0006] On the other hand, in the prior art, for the convenience of sealing maintenance of unit cells and lamination process thereof, a power generation assembly (EGA) in which a membrane electrode assembly and a gas diffusion layer are integrated may be produced and used.
[0007] Furthermore, a cell frame in which an EGA and a frame supporting the EGA are integrated and a bipolar plate stacked on one side of the cell frame has recently been studied.

[0010] An embodiment of the present disclosure provides an integrated fuel cell, which removes the bipolar plate forming portion, forms through holes and increases the hot pressing area to allow uniform surface pressure to act on a wider area during the integrated battery bonding process, thereby effectively stacking the battery frame and the bipolar plate, and ensures the structural freedom of the guide portion of the battery frame by ensuring the formation freedom of the support protrusions of the guide portion of the battery frame.
[0011] The technical problems that can be solved by the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to the above-mentioned technical problems, and it should be understood that through the description of the embodiments of the present disclosure, ordinary technicians in the field to which the present disclosure belongs will be able to clearly understand other unmentioned technical problems.
[0012] An integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include: a cell frame formed by joining a power generation assembly (EGA) and a frame, the cell frame having a manifold hole formed at an end of the frame and configured to allow a reaction gas to pass therethrough, and having a reaction gas guide portion formed to extend from the manifold hole; and a pair of bipolar plates stacked on both sides of the cell frame and including a first bipolar plate and a second bipolar plate, the first bipolar plate being configured to form a flow path for the reaction gas together with the guide portion of the cell frame and having a through hole formed on a portion of the first bipolar plate corresponding to the reaction gas guide portion to expose a portion of the guide portion through the through hole, and the second bipolar plate being joined to the cell frame.
[0013] For example, a plurality of support protrusions extending in the direction in which the reaction gas flows and spaced apart from each other in the width direction are formed on the guide portion of the battery frame, and a flow path through which the reaction gas flows is formed between adjacent support protrusions.

[0026] For example, the frame is made of a plastic material.
[0027] For example, on the other surface of the second bipolar plate facing the frame, a support groove recessed inwardly is formed along the support protrusion at a point corresponding to the support protrusion.
[0028] For example, a protrusion is formed on the second bipolar plate along the support protrusion, and the protrusion of the second bipolar plate is inserted into and supported by the support groove of the frame.
[0029] For example, the support groove and the projection are formed to extend along the support protrusion.
[0030] According to the integrated fuel cell of the embodiment of the present disclosure, by increasing the hot pressing area / area, uniform surface pressure is applied to a wider area during the bonding process of the integrated battery, so that the battery frame and the bipolar plates can be effectively stacked, and the structural freedom of the guide part of the battery frame can be ensured by ensuring the freedom of the supporting protrusions that form the guide part of the battery frame.
[0031] Effects that can be obtained from the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to the above-mentioned effects, and other unmentioned effects will be clearly understood by a person of ordinary skill in the art to which the present disclosure pertains through the following description of the embodiments of the present disclosure. [0045] According to the integrated fuel cell of the embodiment of the present disclosure, on the first bipolar plate that forms the flow path of the reaction gas together with the guide part of the battery frame, the bipolar plate forming part formed on the part corresponding to the guide part is removed to form a through hole. In addition, during the bonding process of the integrated unit cells, the reduction of the hot pressing area is prevented by preventing the loss of the guide part space, and the uniform surface pressure acts on a wider area. As a result, effective stacking of the battery frame and the bipolar plate becomes possible, and the bipolar plate forming part to be supported can be removed, so that the freedom of the support protrusion of the guide part of the battery frame can be ensured, thereby ensuring the structural freedom of the guide part of the battery frame.
[0046] Figure 1 is a plan view showing a portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, Figure 2 is a view showing one of various embodiments of a guide portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 3 The support protrusion of the integrated fuel cell guide is along the Figure 1 The cross-sectional view along the A-A' line. Figure 4 It is the guide of the integrated fuel cell. Figure 2 Cross-sectional view along the BB' line. Figures 5 to 8 are views showing various embodiments of a guide portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, Fig. 9 is a view showing the shape of an integrated fuel cell stack according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0047] Figure 1 is a plan view showing a portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 1 , an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.
[0048] According to the integrated fuel cell of an embodiment of the present disclosure, the cell frame includes a manifold hole 110 and a reaction gas guide portion 130, the manifold hole 110 is formed at the end of the frame and is configured to allow the reaction gas to pass through, the reaction gas guide portion 130 is formed to extend from the manifold hole 110, and, on a bipolar plate 300 on one side that forms a flow path for the reaction gas together with the guide portion 130 of the cell frame, a through hole is formed in a portion corresponding to the guide portion 130 so that a portion of the guide portion 130 is exposed through the through hole.
[0049] According to the integrated fuel cell of the embodiment of the present disclosure, a through hole is formed in a portion corresponding to the guide portion 130 on the bipolar plate 300 on one side that forms a flow path for the reaction gas together with the guide portion 130 of the cell frame, and a portion of the guide portion 130 is exposed through the through hole.
[0050] With such a structure, space loss caused by the bipolar plate does not occur, and alignment tolerance does not occur during manufacturing. In addition, if the battery frame and the bipolar plate are manufactured by pressurization, the pressurization area is increased, and uniform surface pressure can be easily applied to a wider area to promote efficient lamination of the battery frame and the bipolar plate.
[0051] Furthermore, since the diameter of the flow path may be increased by the amount of the thickness of the bipolar plate forming portion (not shown), fluid (including reaction gas and reaction product) may be stably exchanged between the inside and outside of the cell frame.
[0052] On the other hand, since the need for the support protrusions 131 of the frame to support the bipolar plate forming portion (not shown) is reduced, the restrictions on the length, width and spacing of the support protrusions 131 of the guide portion 130 are reduced, and a structure without any support protrusions 131 can also be achieved.
[0053] Furthermore, by making the battery frame of plastic, the shape of the guide portion 130 of the battery frame can be maintained even without the bipolar plate forming portion.
[0054] Furthermore, by omitting the bipolar plate forming portion (not shown) and changing the support protrusion 131 , it is also possible to reduce the weight of the integrated fuel cell and thereby increase the energy density of the vehicle.
[0055] Figure 2 is a view showing one of various embodiments of a guide portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 3 The guide portion of the integrated fuel cell supports the protrusion along the Figure 1 The cross-sectional view along the A-A' line. Figure 4 It is the guide of the integrated fuel cell. Figure 1 Cross-sectional view along the BB' line. Figures 5 to 8 are views showing various embodiments of a guide portion of an integrated fuel cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0056] Reference Figures 2 to 8 , the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell is continued to be described.
[0057] A plurality of support protrusions 131 extending in the direction of reaction gas flow and spaced apart from each other in the width direction are formed on the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell. Such support protrusions 131 are lip-shaped and extend all the way to the manifold hole 110. A flow path for fluid to flow is formed between adjacent support protrusions 131.
[0058] The plurality of support protrusions 131 extending to the manifold hole 110 may increase the structural stability of the guide portion 130 , and may also enable fluid to be stably exchanged between the inside and the outside of the battery frame through flow paths formed between adjacent support protrusions 131 .
[0059] Reference Figure 3 and Figure 4 , the flow path is formed by adjacent support protrusions 131 formed on the guide portion 130, and on the support protrusion 131, the height of the point exposed through the through hole is higher than the height of the point covered by the bipolar plate, and the height difference between the two points is equal to the thickness of the bipolar plate.
[0060] With such a structure, when the unit cells of the integrated fuel cell are stacked to form a cell stack, the guides 130 of the individual unit cells of the integrated fuel cell are stacked by being supported by the support protrusions of the lower unit cells of the integrated fuel cell. In this way, the structural stability of the fuel cell stack is improved.
[0061] Furthermore, since the fluid flowing through a specific flow path through the corresponding point of the support protrusion covered by the bipolar plate can be diffused to the flow paths adjacent on both sides, the fluid can flow smoothly between the inside and the outside of the battery frame.
[0062] Figures 5 to 8Various embodiments of the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell corresponding to the embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0063] Figure 5 The plurality of support protrusions 131 of the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell extend to a point spaced apart from the manifold hole 110 by a predetermined distance and are exposed through the through-holes.
[0064] By such a structure, the fluid space of the guide part 130 for exchanging fluid with the inside of the battery frame through the manifold hole 110 of the guide part 130 is increased. In this way, the fluid can be smoothly exchanged with the manifold hole 110 through the guide part 130 of the battery frame.
[0065] Figure 6 The plurality of support protrusions 131 of the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell are all covered by one side of the bipolar plate, and a portion of the guide portion 130 exposed through the through hole forms a flat plate structure.
[0066] By this structure, the fluid space of the guide part 130 of the cell frame is increased, and the fluid can be smoothly exchanged between the inside of the cell frame and the manifold hole 110. In addition, the support protrusion 131 is removed from the portion of the guide part 130 exposed through the through hole, whereby the weight of the integrated fuel cell can be reduced accordingly.
[0067] Figure 7 The plurality of support protrusions 131 of the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell have a structure in which the support protrusions 131 all covered by the bipolar plate 300 on one side are formed between the support protrusions 131 extending to the manifold hole 110. With such a structure, on the portion of the guide portion 130 exposed through the through hole, the support protrusions 131 extending to the manifold hole 110 are spaced apart from each other at relatively wide intervals to form a flow path with a wide cross-sectional area. This increases the fluid space of the guide portion 130, allows the fluid to be smoothly exchanged with the manifold hole 110, and allows the support protrusions 131 extending to the manifold hole 110 to support the guide portions 130 of the unit cells of other integrated fuel cells, thereby contributing to the structural stability of the integrated fuel cell stack.
[0068] In addition, on the portion of the guide 130 covered by the one-side bipolar plate 300, the support protrusion 131 extending to the manifold hole 110 and the support protrusion 131 entirely covered by the one-side bipolar plate 300 are spaced apart from each other at relatively narrow intervals to form a flow path having a narrow cross-sectional area. Since the flow rate of the reaction gas introduced through the guide 130 is the same at the exposed portion and the portion covered by the one-side bipolar plate 300, the reaction gas can be smoothly introduced into the battery frame at a higher speed through this structure.
[0069] This is because when the same amount of fluid flows per unit time, the flow rate of the fluid flowing through the cross-sectional area per unit time increases as the cross-sectional area becomes narrower, while the flow rate of the fluid flowing through the cross-sectional area per unit time decreases as the cross-sectional area becomes wider.
[0070] Figure 8 One of various embodiments of the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell of the embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. In this way, the guide portion 130 of the integrated fuel cell will continue to be described.
[0071] An inlet manifold hole 110 and an outlet manifold hole 110 are respectively formed at both ends of the frame, an inlet guide portion 130 is formed on the side of the inlet manifold hole 110 , and an outlet guide portion 130 is formed on the side of the outlet manifold hole 110 .
[0072] The support protrusions 131 of the inlet guide 130 and the support protrusions 131 of the outlet guide 130 may have different spacing distances in the width direction, and the widths of the support protrusions 131 themselves may also be different. In this way, the width and cross-sectional area of the flow path formed between the support protrusions 131 may be different from each other. In addition, partition walls 133 may be formed between adjacent support protrusions 131 to divide the flow path formed between the support protrusions 131, and the width and cross-sectional area of the flow path may be adjusted more accurately by adjusting the number and width of the partition walls 133.
[0073] In addition, the support protrusion 131 of the inlet guide 130 and the support protrusion 131 of the outlet guide 130 may have different widths according to locations.
[0074] Specifically, on the support protrusion, the width of the point covered by the bipolar plate 300 may be relatively large, and the width of the point exposed through the through hole may be relatively small. In addition, such a width change may be continuous along the extension direction of the support protrusion.
[0075] With this structure, the widths of the flow paths at the inlet guide portion 130 and the outlet guide portion 130 may be different from each other as needed.
[0076] By narrowing the width of the flow path to accelerate the fluid flowing through the flow path, the reaction products, such as water, can be quickly removed, and by widening the width of the flow path to increase the fluid space of the fluid, the reaction gas can be circulated smoothly. That is, as needed, the flow rate of the fluid flowing through the flow path can be designed differently according to each point, thereby improving the performance and design freedom of the integrated fuel cell.
[0077] Fig. 9 2 is a diagram showing the shape of an integrated fuel cell stack according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Fig. 9, the integrated fuel cell of the embodiment of the present disclosure will be described around the other side bipolar plate 500 .
[0078] On one side of the frame, the bipolar plate 300 having the through hole is stacked, and on the other side thereof, the bipolar plate 500 is stacked. On the other surface of the bipolar plate 500 on the other side facing the frame, a support groove recessed inward is formed along the support protrusion 131 at a point corresponding to the support protrusion 131, and on the bipolar plate on the other side, a protrusion 510 inserted into the support groove is formed along the support protrusion 131. The support groove and the protrusion 510 extend in the direction in which the reaction gas flows along the support protrusion 131.
[0079] With this structure, the other side bipolar plate 500 can effectively support the support protrusion 131 of the cell frame through the protrusion 510. In this way, the structural stability of the guide portion 130 of the cell frame, which may be reduced due to the removal of the bipolar plate forming portion (not shown), can be enhanced, and during the construction of the integrated fuel cell stack, the structural stability of the cell stack can also be enhanced by effectively supporting the unit cells of the adjacent integrated fuel cells.
