[0043] Referring to the accompanying drawings, especially Figure 1 , an exemplary embodiment of a ground mounting bracket according to the present disclosure is shown and generally denoted by reference numeral 10. Advantageously, the ground mounting bracket 10 is provided with a detachable adjustable bracket. The bracket snaps into position at the top of the ground mounting bracket 10 and is fully adjustable. The bracket can extend to an adjacent vertical column, thereby allowing it to fully secure the assembly and stop movement. The integrated adjustable bracket is made of two channel members, namely a first bracket member 11 and a second bracket member 13. The smaller channel of the second bracket member 13 is inserted into the outer channel of the first bracket member 11, thus having a very sturdy adjustable assembly. The fact that the bracket snaps into position at the top of the ground mounting bracket 10 makes it free from manual installation.
[0044] Refer to Figure 1 , the ground mounting bracket 10 has a frame 12 formed by a top member 14, which is opposite to a bottom member 16 and they are connected by a first side member 18 and a second side member 20. The second support member 96 extends from the second side member 20 into the opening 22. The breakable member 98 extends from the second side member 20 into the opening 22 and is connected to the second support member 13. Holes 100, 102, 104, 105, 106, 108, 110, 112, 114, 116, 118 pass through the second side member 20. As Figure 2BAs shown, the second folding member 122 extends from the second side member 20 to the first side 36 of the ground mounting frame 10. The second folding member 122 has a second cutout 124 adjacent to the top member 14. The frame 12 has holes 126, 128, 130, 132, 134, 136 passing through the second folding member 122. As shown in FIG. 3, the second folding member 122 has a J-shaped configuration.
[0048] The first support member 11 and the second support member 13 are made of two channel-shaped members. The first support member 11 has a flat side portion 138 and a sliding portion 142 having a flat section and folded on opposite sides that bend outwardly and inwardly to form a C-shaped configuration, thereby forming a first channel. The first support member 11 has a hole 140 passing through the side portion 138 and the sliding portion 142. The second support member 13 has a flat side portion 144 and a sliding portion 146 having a flat section and folded on opposite sides that bend outwardly and inwardly to form a C-shaped configuration, thereby forming a second channel smaller than the first channel. The second support member 13 has a hole 148 passing through the side portion 144 and the sliding portion 146.
[0049] Referring Figure 3B , the ground mounting frame 10 can be manufactured from a cut flat plate, and then punches are applied to the first support member 11 and the second support member 13 to form a C-shaped configuration for each of the sliding portion 142 of the first support member 11 and the sliding portion 146 of the second support member 13. The C-shaped configurations of the sliding portion 142 of the first support member 11 and the sliding portion 146 of the second support member 13 have a width greater than the base portions of each of the sliding portion 142 of the first support member 11 and the sliding portion 146 of the second support member 13 that respectively have holes 140 and 148 in the opening portions of the C-shaped configurations, thereby allowing the punches to be retracted after forming the C-shaped configurations. The flat plate is cut such that all parts of the ground mounting frame 10 are connected, and the C-shaped configurations of the sliding portion 142 of the first support member 11 and the sliding portion 146 of the second support member 13 have a width greater than the portions of each of the sliding portion 142 of the first support member 11 and the sliding portion 146 of the second support member 13 that respectively have holes 140 and 148 in the opening portions of the C-shaped configurations, which allows for easier machining and does not waste materials.
[0050] Return reference Figure 1 , the first support member 50 has a U-shaped member 150 extending into the opening 22 and a bendable member 152 extending from an intermediate section of the U-shaped member 150 toward the first side member 18. The second support member 96 has a U-shaped member 154 extending into the opening 22 and a bendable member 156 extending from an intermediate section of the U-shaped member 154 toward the second side member 20. Referring Figure 4, the U-shaped member 150 of the first support member 50 and the U-shaped member 154 of the second support member 96 bend outward from the first side 36 of the frame 12 to a first depth. The bendable members 152 of the first support member 50 and the bendable members 156 of the second support member 96 can be further bent outward away from the first side 36 of the frame 12 to a second depth greater than the first depth. As Figure 1 shown, the bendable member 152 of the first support member 50 has a first section 158, and the bendable member 156 of the second support member 96 has a second section 160. The first section 158 can be bent along line 159 such that the bendable member 152 has a third depth that is less than the second depth but greater than the first depth. Similarly, the second section 160 can be bent along line 161 such that the bendable member 156 has the third depth. Bending the first section 158 of the bendable element 152 and the second section 160 of the bendable element 156 increases the strength of the bendable element 152 and the bendable element 156, respectively. The first depth is, for example, 2.5 inches, the second depth is, for example, 6 inches, and the third depth is, for example, 5 inches.
[0051] Reference Figure 5 and Figure 6, the mounting plate 500 can be connected to the ground mounting frame 10. The mounting plate 500 has a plate body 502. A central opening 504 passes through the plate body 502. Mounting holes 506, 508, 510, 512, 514 pass through the plate body 502. Mounting grooves 516, 518, 520 are formed in the plate body 502. The mounting holes 506, 508, 510, 512, 514 and the mounting grooves 516, 518, 520 receive fasteners, such as screws, to connect the mounting plate 500 to electrical boxes of various sizes and / or mudrings of various sizes. The mounting plate 500 forms a ridge 522 around the plate body 502. The mounting plate 500 has tabs 524, 526 extending from a first side and bending members 528, 530 between the tabs 524, 526. The tabs 524, 526 each have holes 525, 527 respectively. The bending members 528, 530 bend outwardly and away from the plate body 502. The mounting plate 500 has tabs 532, 534 extending from a second side opposite the first side and bending members 536, 538 between the tabs 532, 534. The tabs 532, 534 each have holes 533, 535 respectively. The bending members 536, 538 bend outwardly and away from the plate body 502. The mounting plate 500 has an extension portion 540 extending from a third side between the first side and the second side. The extension portion 540 has holes 542, 544 and a notch 546. The extension portion 540 has a first portion 541 above the notch 546 and a second portion 543 below the notch 546. The mounting plate 500 has an extension portion 548 extending from a fourth side opposite the third side. The extension portion 548 has holes 550, 552 and a notch 554. The extension portion 548 has a first portion 551 above the notch 554 and a second portion 551 below the notch 554.
[0052] Reference Figure 1 , the user breaks the frangible members 43 and 51 to disconnect the first support member 11 from the remainder of the ground mounting frame 10, and breaks the frangible members 47 and 98 to disconnect the second support member 13 from the remainder of the ground mounting frame 10. Reference Figure 7 , the second support member 13 is inserted into the first support member 11, thereby allowing the first support member 11 and the second support member 13 to slide relative to each other as a support assembly. Thus, the smaller channel of the second support member 13 is inserted into the outer channel of the first support member 11, resulting in a very sturdy adjustable support assembly. Reference Figure 7 And Figure 8 , the first support member 11 and the second support member 13 can extend to adjacent vertical columns 700, 702 respectively, allowing the ground mounting frame 10 to securely attach the mounting plate 500 connected to the electrical box 704 to the adjacent vertical columns 700, 702 and the track 706 to stop movement.
[0053] Reference Figure 9 Figure 9 , the bracket assembly of the second bracket member 13 inserted into the first bracket member 11 is inserted between the intermediate tab 35, the notch 76 of the first folding member 74 and the notch 124 of the second folding member 122 by snap fit to hold the bracket assembly of the first bracket member 11 and the second bracket member 13 against the top member 14 of the frame 12. Reference Figure 7 Figure 7 , the bracket assembly of the second bracket member 13 inserted into the first bracket member 11 has an adjustable length L. According to the distance between adjacent vertical columns 700, 702 and the desired position of the ground mounting bracket 10, the first bracket member 11 and the second bracket member 13 slide relative to each other to have the desired length L. Reference Figure 9 Figure 9 , according to the length L, the first bracket member 11 and / or the second bracket member 13 are assembled in the notch 76 of the first folding member 74, the first bracket member 11 and / or the second bracket member 13 are assembled adjacent to the intermediate tab 35, and the first bracket member 11 and / or the second bracket member 13 are assembled in the notch 124 of the second folding member 122. For Figure 9 Figure 9 the length shown, the first bracket member 11 is in the notch 76 of the first folding member 74, the second bracket member 13 is in the notch 124 of the second folding member 122, and both the first bracket member 11 and the second bracket member 13 are adjacent to the intermediate tab 35. Reference Figure 7 Figure 7 , a fastener (such as a screw) can pass through the hole 33 in the top member 14 and the hole 140 and / or hole 148 of the first bracket member 11 and / or the second bracket member 13 to maintain the position of the top member 14 relative to the first bracket member 11 and / or the second bracket member 13. Thus, when the fastener is inserted through the first bracket member 11 and the column 700 and the fastener is inserted through the second bracket member 13 and the column 702, the bracket assembly snaps into place at the top of the ground mounting bracket 10, thereby allowing for a hands-free installation. The shape of the first notch 76 is complementary to the cross-section of the first bracket member 11, and the shape of the second notch 124 is complementary to the cross-section of the second bracket member 13, so that when the fastener is inserted through the first bracket member 11 and the column 700, and the fastener is inserted through the second bracket member 13 and the column 702, the bracket assembly of the second bracket member 13 inserted into the first bracket member 11 is held in position between the first folding member 74, the second folding member 122 and the intermediate tab 35.
[0054] Still referring to Figure 7, the side portion 138 of the first support member 11 is positioned on the column 700, and a fastener (such as a screw) can pass through another hole 140 in the side portion 138 and through the column 700 to connect the first support member 11 to the column 700. The side portion 144 of the second support member 13 is positioned on the column 702, and a fastener (such as a screw) can pass through a hole 148 in the side portion 144 and through the column 702 to connect the second support member 13 to the column 702. To connect the bottom member 16 of the frame 12 to the outer surface of the track 706, the track support 42 extends under the track 706, and a fastener (such as a screw) can pass through the hole 53 and the track 706, and another fastener can pass through the hole 55 and the track 706 to connect the bottom member 16 of the frame 12 to the track 706. The collapsible strip 41 folds down away from the second surface 37 of the frame 12 and can be placed under the drywall to indicate the location of the electrical box connected to the floor mount 10. Alternatively, to connect the bottom member 16 of the frame 12 to the inner surface of the track 706, the U-shaped sidewall 708 of the track 706 is fitted between the U-shaped baffle 40 and the bottom member 16, and a fastener (such as a screw) can pass through the hole 53 and the track 706, and another fastener can pass through the hole 55 and the track 706 to connect the bottom member 16 of the frame 12 to the track 706. Another option is that the bottom member 16 is connected to or rests on the ground. The U-shaped member 150 of the first support member 50 and the U-shaped member 154 of the second support member 96 bend outward from the first side 36 of the frame 12 to a first depth, a second depth, or a third depth so as to be positioned against the drywall providing support. The cable support 38 extends above the support assembly of the second support member 13 inserted into the first support member 11 to receive the cable in the slot 39a between the tabs 39b.
[0055] Still referring to Figure 7 , the mounting plate 500 is connected to the electrical box 704 by one or more fasteners (such as screws), each of which passes through the electrical box 704 and one of the mounting holes 506, 508, 510, 512, 514 and / or the mounting grooves 516, 518, 520.
