Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a display support for a loom. The present invention also relates to a method for supporting a display and a loom having a display support. Background Art

[0002] It is well known that modern looms are equipped with displays. In embodiments, the display is used to visualize data and settings of the loom. In other embodiments, the display is a touch screen and is also used for data input to control the settings of the loom. Summary of the Invention

[0003] The object of the present invention is to provide a display support for a loom which allows the display to be stably supported. A further object is to provide a method for supporting a display having such a display support and a loom having such a display support.

[0004] According to a first aspect, there is provided a display support for a loom, the loom including a frame having a frame member, the display support including a column and a support frame arranged at an upper end of the column, wherein the display support further includes a fixing member, wherein the fixing member is integrally formed with the frame member of the loom or is configured to be fixed to the frame member of the loom, and wherein the column is mounted to the fixing member via at least one damping block.

[0005] Throughout this application and the appended claims, the indefinite article "a" or "an" means "one or more". Further, throughout this application and the appended claims, the terms "first" and "second" are used only to distinguish one element from another and do not denote any order of the elements.

[0006] According to the present application, the column of the display support is attached to the frame member of the loom via the fixing member and at least one damping block. Attaching the column to the frame member allows the column to be stabilized and prevents the column from bending and / or buckling due to the weight of the display supported by the display support. The at least one damping block prevents or at least reduces the vibration excitation caused to the display support due to the vibration of the frame member of the loom (to which the display support is attached).

[0007] In one embodiment, the column has at least one side arm extending from the column perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the column, wherein at least one damping block is mounted between the at least one side arm and the fixed member. The at least one side arm provides a large degree of design freedom for arranging at least one damping block between the column and the fixed member. In particular, the at least one side arm allows a damping block to be arranged between the at least one side arm and the mounting surface of the frame member, which mounting surface extends parallel to the at least one side arm. In one embodiment, the at least one side arm and the mounting surface extend in the horizontal direction, wherein the at least one side arm, the at least one damping block, and the mounting surface allow the column to be supported in the vertical direction.

[0008] In one embodiment, the column has a first side arm and a second side arm, the first side arm and the second side arm extending from the column perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the column, wherein a first damping block is mounted between the first side arm and the fixed member, and a second damping block is mounted between the second side arm and the fixed member. In an embodiment, the first side arm and the second side arm extend from the column on opposite sides. In an embodiment, the first side arm and the second side arm are arranged in a common plane, wherein the first damping block and the second damping block are identical in design, and wherein the first damping block is arranged between the first arm and the mounting surface of the frame member, which mounting surface extends parallel to the first side arm, and the second damping block is arranged between the second arm and the mounting surface of the frame member.

[0009] In one embodiment, at least one damping block is mounted between the at least one side arm and the fixed member using a fixing pin extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column. In an embodiment, the at least one damping block includes two coaxially arranged fixing pins and a rubber element arranged between the fixing pins. The fixing pins are fixed to the rubber element using washers. The rubber element isolates the vibration of the column from the vibration of the frame member, such as a clamp drive excitation. By mounting the rubber element using a fixing pin extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column, the column is supported in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the column via the at least one side arm, the at least one damping block, and the frame member. In an embodiment, the fixing pin is a threaded pin that extends through holes provided in the at least one side arm and the fixed member and can be fixed to the at least one side arm and the fixed member using nuts. In an embodiment, the first damping block is mounted between the first side arm and the fixed member using two coaxially arranged first fixing pins extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column, and the second damping block is mounted between the second side arm and the fixed member using two coaxially arranged second fixing pins extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column.

[0010] In one embodiment, the fixing member is L-shaped and includes a first mounting surface extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the column and a second mounting surface extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column, wherein at least one damping block is disposed between at least one side arm and the first mounting surface, and wherein the second mounting surface is configured to be fixed to a frame member of a loom. In use, at least one side arm and the first mounting surface extend in a horizontal direction, wherein the at least one side arm, the at least one damping block, and the mounting surface allow the column to be supported in a vertical direction.

[0011] In one embodiment, the second mounting surface is configured to be fixed to a frame member of a loom using two or more bolts. The design of the second mounting surface can be selected to match the attached frame member. The number and arrangement of the bolts can be selected to allow the fixing member to be firmly fixed to the frame member.

[0012] In one embodiment, the first mounting surface has a recess, wherein the column is disposed in the recess. This allows the column to be positioned close to the second mounting surface of the frame member.

[0013] In one embodiment, a spacer bushing can be disposed as a transportation aid between the column and the second mounting surface of the fixing member. During transportation, the spacer bushing allows the column to be fixed to the second mounting surface by using bolts extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the column. The bolts and the spacer bushing are removed in use so that the column is mounted to the fixing member only via at least one damping block, and vibrations of the frame member are not or only slightly transmitted to the column and the display.

[0014] In one embodiment, a display mounting element is mounted to a support frame so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis, wherein the support frame is provided with at least one damping element, and wherein the display mounting element rests on the at least one damping element in the use position. The at least one damping element further isolates the display mounting element from any vibrations of the column and the support frame attached to the column. In an embodiment, the at least one damping element and the at least one damping block are identical in design. In other embodiments, the at least one damping element and the at least one damping block are different in design in order to achieve isolation of the display mounting element from vibration excitations of different frequencies.

[0015] In an embodiment, the display support further includes a base element disposed at the lower end of the column, whereby, via the base element, the display support can rest on the ground. In an embodiment, the display support rests on the ground via the base element, wherein the column of the display support is fixed to the loom for additional stability. Preferably, the base element is supported on the ground via a number of feet, in particular height-adjustable leveling feet, such as height-adjustable shock-absorbing leveling feet. These feet, in particular the shock-absorbing leveling feet, rest on the ground, avoiding or restricting displacement of the column relative to the ground and preventing or at least reducing vibrations of the display support, in particular stabilizing the display support.

[0016] In one embodiment, a weight is mounted to the base element to stabilize the display support. The additional weight mounted to the base element reduces the sensitivity of the display support to high-frequency vibrations and stabilizes the display support. In an embodiment, a solid block, in particular a solid metal block, is provided that is placed on the base element.

[0017] In an embodiment, the aspirator of the dust collection device is used as a weight. Using the aspirator allows additional weight not to be added to the loom. Additionally, in this case, the aspirator can be mounted separately from the loom frame and above the ground. In this way, the aspirator can be isolated from the vibrations of the loom frame.

[0018] In an embodiment, the column includes at least a first column part and a second column part that can be fixed to each other in different relative positions such that the length of the column can be adjusted. Preferably, the column including the column parts is telescopic. In an embodiment, the length of the column is variable only for transportation purposes, wherein, in use, the first column part and the second column part are fixed to each other at a specified length. In an embodiment, the specified length of the column can be specified by the user during setup of the loom. This allows the length of the column to be specified during setup such that the lower end of the column directly contacts the ground or (if applicable) contacts the ground via the base element. In an embodiment, the length is specified such that the lower end lightly bears against the ground.

[0019] According to a second aspect, there is provided a method of supporting a display for a loom using a display support having a column and a fixing member, wherein the method includes mounting the column to the fixing member via at least one damping block. Mounting the column to the fixing member allows the display support to be stabilized, wherein the at least one damping block isolates the display support from vibrations of the frame member. In an embodiment, the column is mounted to the fixing member during manufacture and before the loom with the display support leaves the factory. In this case, in an embodiment, a spacing element, in particular a spacing bush, can be arranged between the column and the fixing member as a transportation aid in order to avoid or limit displacement of the column relative to the frame member during transportation. Furthermore, in an embodiment, the column includes at least a first column member and a second column member, which can be fixed to each other in different relative positions such that the length of the column can be adjusted. In this case, for transportation, the first column member and the second column member can be arranged in a transportation position in which the length of the column is reduced, and during the weaving setup of the loom, the first column member and the second column member are arranged in a selected use position such that the lower end of the display support rests firmly on the ground or presses slightly on the ground directly or (if applicable) via a base element.

[0020] According to a third aspect, there is provided a loom, which includes a frame and a display support mounted to the frame members of the frame. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0033] Throughout the drawings, like elements will be represented by like reference numerals.

[0034] Figure 1 shows the loom frame 1, which includes a number of frame members, and the frame members include a frame member 2 that serves as a jig drive frame member at the loom insertion side. Figure 1 Also shown is a monitor support 3 mounted to the frame member 2, wherein the monitor 4 is supported by the monitor support 3.

[0035] As Figure 5 and Figure 7 best seen in, the monitor support 3 includes a column 5, a support frame 6, a monitor mounting element 7 fixed to the monitor 4 and mounted to the support frame 6 so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis 76 (see Figure 4 ), a fixed part 8, and a base element 9.

[0036] As Figure 1 and Figure 2 shown in, the base element 9 is provided at the lower end of the column 5. The base element 9 can be supported on the ground via a number of feet 91, such as height-adjustable leveling feet. In Figure 3In the embodiment shown, the base element 9 is supported on the ground via three height-adjustable shock-absorbing leveling feet 91, for example, the feet are provided with a bottom made of rubber.

[0037] In Figure 1 In the embodiment shown, the suction device 10 of the dust collection device is mounted on the base element 9 to stabilize the display support 3. In other embodiments, instead of the suction device, different loom heavy elements and / or solid blocks are mounted on the base element 9.

[0038] As Figure 2 shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4 the exploded view shown in, the fixing member 8 is fixed to the frame member 2 using bolts 83. The upright column 5 of the display support 3 is mounted to the fixing member 8 via at least one damping block 11, 12, and in the embodiment shown, via a first damping block 11 and a second damping block 12. By mounting the upright column 5 to the fixing member 8, the display support 3 is stably in place, wherein the damping blocks 11, 12 isolate the vibration of the display support 3 from the frame member 2.

[0039] In the embodiment shown, the upright column 5 has a first side arm 51 and a second side arm 52, wherein the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 extend from the upright column 5 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the upright column 5. More specifically, the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 are arranged on a common horizontal plane and extend from the upright column 5 on opposite sides of the upright column 5.

[0040] The fixing member 8 is L-shaped and includes a first mounting surface 81 and a second mounting surface 82. The first mounting surface 81 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the upright column 5 and is parallel to the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 in use. The first mounting surface 81 has a recess 84, wherein the upright column 5 is arranged in the recess 84 and the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 are arranged above the first mounting surface 81 on opposite sides of the recess 84.

[0041] The second mounting surface 82 extends parallel to the longitudinal axis 50 of the upright column 5 and is fixed to the frame member 2 of the loom using bolts 83.

[0042] The first mounting surface 81 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the upright column 5 and parallel to the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52, wherein the first damping block 11 is arranged between the first side arm 51 and the first mounting surface 81, and wherein the second damping block 12 is arranged between the second side arm 52 and the first mounting surface 81. Thus, the upright column 5 is supported on the frame member 2 in the direction of its longitudinal axis 50 via the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52, the first damping block 11 and the second damping block 12, and the fixing member 8, wherein the vibration transmission from the frame member 2 to the upright column 5 is prevented or at least reduced.

[0043] As Figure 3 and Figure 4 Best seen, in the illustrated embodiment, the damping blocks 11, 12 include two coaxially arranged fixing pins 13, 14 and a damping element 15, such as a rubber or synthetic damping element, which is arranged between the fixing pins 13, 14. The first damping block 11 is mounted to the first side arm 51 via the fixing pin 13 and to the first mounting surface 81 of the fixing member using the fixing pin 14. The fixing pin 13 extends through a hole 31 in the first side arm 51, and the fixing pin 14 extends through a hole 32 in the first mounting surface 81, which hole 32 is coaxial with the hole 31 in the first side arm 51. Similarly, the second damping block 12 is mounted to the second side arm 52 via the fixing pin 13 and to the first mounting surface 81 of the fixing member 8 using the fixing pin 14. The fixing pin 13 extends through a hole 33 in the second side arm 52, and the fixing pin 14 extends through a hole 34 in the first mounting surface 81, which hole 34 is coaxial with the hole 33 in the second side arm 52. The fixing pin 13 in the illustrated embodiment is a threaded pin, which is fastened in the hole using a nut 16.

[0044] As can be understood by comparison Figure 1 and Figure 5 will be understood, in the illustrated embodiment, the display mounting element 7 fixed to the display 4 is mounted to the support frame 6 so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis 76 (see Figure 4 ). In the Figure 1 shown use position, the display mounting element 7 rests on a damping element 60 (see Figure 4 ) mounted to the support frame 6. As Figure 4 shown, the damping element 60 can cooperate with a positioning element 61 fixed to the display mounting element 7 for positioning the display 4 relative to the support frame 6, and the damping element 60 can be fixed to the support frame 6 using a pin 62 and a nut 63. The display mounting element 7 is further mounted to the support frame 6 via bolts 64 and nuts 66. The display mounting element 7 includes a folding portion 69 (see Figure 4 ) for cooperating with the bolt 64. In addition, a spring element 65 is provided for forcing the display mounting element 7 to the Figure 7 shown open position. The bolt 64 defines the horizontal axis 76. The display 4 is fixed to the display mounting element 7 via a threaded end 67 of the positioning element 61 and a bolt 68 and a threaded hole (not shown) in the display mounting element 7.

[0045] As Figure 4 best visible, the shown support frame 6 includes a guide groove 40 for guiding the waste thread generated by the loom along the support frame 6, in particular for guiding a waste tape 41 of the selvage waste thread schematically shown as Figure 4 .

[0046] In the illustrated embodiment, the upright column 5 is telescopic and includes a first upright column member 53 and a second upright column member 54 which can be fixed to each other at different longitudinal positions such that the length of the upright column 5 can be set and fixed by means of a fixing element 55 (such as a bolt cooperating with a threaded member 56 fixed to the second upright column member 54).

[0047] In an embodiment, for transporting the loom including the frame 1, for example when the loom leaves the production factory, the first upright column member 53 and the second upright column member 54 are arranged in Figure 6 the transport position shown in and fixed in this transport position using the fixing element 55. As best visible in Figure 2 and Figure 3 the fixing element 55 can cooperate with a hole 57 in the first upright column member 53. The upright column 5, more particularly the first upright column member 53 of the upright column 5, is further fixed to the fixing member 8 using two bolts 86 and a spacer bushing 85, and the spacer bushing is arranged as a transport aid between the first upright column member 53 of the upright column 5 and the second mounting surface 82 of the fixing member 8. The bolts 86 can cooperate with threaded holes 87 in the fixing member 8 and washers 88 can be provided.

[0048] To allow easy access to the frame member 2 and / or the display support 3 during installation, as shown in Figure 6 the display mounting member 7 can be pivoted to Figure 7 the open or installation position shown in. The fixing element 55 can be loosened and the second upright column member 54 can be moved relative to the first upright column member 53 to the use position shown in Figure 1 such that the base element 9 and its feet 91 can be supported on the ground, preferably pressed against the ground. In this use position, the feet 91 can be set in a leveling position and fixed to the base element 9 with nuts 92 (see Figure 3 ) and the first upright column member 53 and the second upright column member 54 of the upright column 5 can be fixed to each other with the fixing element 55. Then the bolts 86 and the spacer bushing 85 can be removed such that the upright column 5 can be supported by the damping blocks 11 and 12 and via the base element 9, wherein the damping blocks 11, 12 isolate the vibration of the display support 3 from the frame member 2.

[0049] In an alternative, for installation, first the bolts 86 and the spacer bushing 85 are removed and then the second upright column member 54 is moved relative to the first upright column member 53 such that the base element 9 is supported on the ground, in particular on its feet 91 arranged in a horizontal position.

[0050] After installation, the monitor support 3 rests on the ground and is additionally supported by its attachment to the frame member 2 via the damping blocks 11 and 12. This allows the monitor 4 to be fixed in place in a stable manner and isolated from the vibrations of the loom.

[0051] Figure 8 A second embodiment of the monitor support 3 mounted to the frame member 2 of the loom is shown. The monitor support 3 further includes a column 5 and a fixing member 8.

[0052] As Figure 8 shown, the fixing member 8 in this embodiment is integrally formed with the frame member 2. The shown fixing member 8 is designed as a rib provided at the frame member 2, and the rib may have a shape similar to the first mounting surface 81 of the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 7 . The rib can be cast together with the frame member 2, for example, cast with cast iron.

[0053] On the loom 1, the frame member 2, the column 5, the support frame 6, the monitor mounting element 7, the fixing member 8, and other elements of the loom, electrical grounding (not shown) can be provided for all elements to electrically ground these elements.

[0054] Figure 9 and Figure 10 Details of the second embodiment of the monitor support 3 are shown in perspective and front views, and the monitor support can be fixed to the frame member of the loom ( Figure 9 and Figure 10 not shown). Figure 9 and Figure 10 The monitor support 3 shown in Figures 1 to 8 is similar to the monitor support 3 shown in

[0055] and the same reference numerals will be used for the same or similar elements. Figure 9 ) The monitor support 3 includes a column 5 and a fixing member 8, and the fixing member 8 is configured to be fixed to the frame member 2 of the loom 1 using bolts 83 (see Figures 1 to 8 ). The monitor support 3 further includes a first damping block 11 and a second damping block 12, which are arranged on opposite sides of the column 5, wherein the column 5 is mounted to the fixing member 8 via the first damping block 11 and the second damping block 12, such that the damping blocks 11 and 12 isolate the monitor support 3 from the vibrations of the frame member 2 (see Figures 1 to 8 ).

[0056] The column 5 has a first side arm 51 and a second side arm 52, which extend from the column 5 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the column 5, wherein the first damping block 11 is mounted between the first side arm 51 and the fixing member 8, and the second damping block 12 is mounted between the second side arm 52 and the fixing member 8.

[0057] Similar to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 8 , the fixing member 8 is L-shaped and includes a first mounting surface 81 and a second mounting surface 82. The first mounting surface 81 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the column 5 and is parallel to the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 in use (as shown in Figure 9 and Figure 10 ). The first mounting surface 81 has a recess 84 in which the column 5 is arranged. The first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 are arranged above the first mounting surface 81 on opposite sides of the recess 84.

[0058] In contrast to the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 8 , Figure 9 and Figure 10 , each of the damping blocks 11, 12 shown includes a damping element 15, which is a bent strip or ribbon-shaped element, in particular a C-shaped bent ribbon-shaped element, having a vertex 17 and two legs 18, 19, and the legs 18, 19 can move relative to each other against an internal restoring force.

[0059] Each damping element 15 is arranged such that the two legs 18, 19 extend perpendicular to the second mounting surface 82. Thus, in use, the legs 18, 19 extend parallel to the warp direction. In addition, the damping element 15 is arranged such that the vertex 17 of each damping element 15 points away from the column 5, that is, the two vertices 17 point in opposite directions.

[0060] The first leg 18 of each damping element 15 is fixed to the first side arm 51 and the second side arm 52 respectively using a number of fixing pins 13 (three fixing pins 13 in the embodiment shown), and the second leg 19 of each damping element 15 is fixed to the first mounting surface 81 using a number of fixing pins 14 (three fixing pins 14 in the embodiment shown). In this embodiment, the fixing pins 13, 14 are threaded pins, and are fastened in the holes using nuts 16 provided in the nut plate.

[0061] The damping element 15 allows damped movement of the fixing member 8 relative to the column 5 along the longitudinal axis 50 of the column 5, wherein the damping element 15 has a higher stiffness in the direction perpendicular to the second mounting surface 82, that is, in the warp direction in use, thereby preventing the display 4 supported by the display support 3 from accidentally moving in the warp direction due to the forces acting on the display 4.

[0062] In the illustrated embodiment, the fixing member 8 also has two lateral support walls 89, 90 which are arranged opposite to two vertices 17 of the two damping elements 15, wherein the support walls 89, 90 restrict the movement of the damping elements 15 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 50 of the column 5 and parallel to the second mounting surface 82, that is, the movement in the latitudinal direction when the display support 3 is in use.

[0063] Figure 11 Details of a third embodiment of the display support 3 are shown in a rear perspective view, and the display support can be fixed to a frame member of a loom ( Figure 11 not shown). Figure 11 The display support 3 shown in Figure 9 and Figure 10 is similar to the display support 3 shown in

[0064] and for the same or similar elements, the same reference numerals will be used and reference will be made to the above description. Figure 9 and Figure 10 In contrast to the embodiment shown in Figure 11 the display support 3 shown in

[0065] also includes a third damping block 23 in addition to the first damping block 11 and the second damping block 12 arranged on opposite sides of the column 5, wherein the column 5 is mounted to the fixing member 8 via the first damping block 11, the second damping block 12 and the third damping block 23. The third damping block 23 is identical in design to the first damping block 11 and the second damping block 12 and includes a curved damping element 15. The third damping block 23 is arranged between the first damping block 11 and the second damping block 12 and behind the column 5, wherein the vertices 17 of the damping element 15 of the third damping block 23 face away from the column 5. In other words, the three damping blocks 11, 12, 23 are arranged along the edge of the recess 84, wherein each damping block 11, 12, 23 includes a curved damping element 15 having vertices 17, and the vertices 17 of all three damping elements 15 point away from the column 5. In other embodiments, the damping elements 15 are arranged such that all vertices point towards the column 5.
