On-line drying of hollow fiber membranes

Abstract

The present invention relates to a continuous process for the preparation of selectively permeable hollow fiber membranes suitable for use in hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration and hemofiltration of, for example, blood, which comprises a two-stage drying and tempering treatment of the hollow fiber membranes. According to a further aspect, the present invention relates to a continuous process for the in-line drying of selectively permeable hollow fiber membranes. The present invention also relates to an apparatus for the in-line drying of selectively permeable hollow fiber membranes.
