Abstract

The application provides a channel estimation method and device for a perception intelligent metasurface, and relates to the technical field of communication. The pilot overhead required in the channel estimation process is irrelevant to the number of RIS units, and the channel from the base station to the RIS does not need to be assumed to be known. The method comprises the following steps: receiving pilot symbols sent by a base station and a user equipment; determining an RIS receiving signal vector based on the pilot symbols; constructing a compressed phase recovery problem to be solved based on a perception matrix and the RIS receiving signal vector; solving the compressed phase recovery problem based on a generalized approximate message passing algorithm, iteratively processing the RIS receiving signal vector, and obtaining a sparse representation of an angle domain channel estimation value; and obtaining a spatial domain channel from the base station to the RIS and from the user equipment to the RIS based on a codebook and the sparse representation of the angle domain channel estimation value.
